MANCHESTER UNITED are set to bring youngster Kobbie Mainoo into the squad for the trip to Arsenal with Casemiro suspended, reports claim.Erik ten Hag has a spot to fill after the Brazilian midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the season in the draw to Crystal Palace, resulting in a one-match ban.

Mainoo, 17, looks set to be named on the bench with Scott McTominay and Fred coming into the starting XI, according to Manchester Evening News.
It will not be the first time the teenager has been involved in a Premier League matchday squad, having been an unused substitute versus Newcastle, Wolves and Manchester City.
Mainoo is a central midfielder and he has played just once before for Man Utd, starting in the Carabao Cup win over Charlton earlier this year.
He joined the club when he was just nine years old and he is viewed as wonderkid by the Red Devils.

Mainoo played a key role in United’s FA Youth Cup win last season and he has also been capped twice for England’s Under-18 team.
Reports suggest McTominay and Fred could both start alongside Christian Eriksen in midfield against Arsenal.
This could mean that Bruno Fernandes takes up a role on the right-wing.
Diogo Dalot and Anthony Martial are supposedly not in the squad as both continue their recoveries from injury issues.

Therefore, Aaron Wan-Bissaka looks set to remain at right-back and Wout Weghorst may start again up front.
A win for United today could take them within five points of league leaders Arsenal.
And Ten Hag’s men should have plenty of confidence as they are the only team to beat the Gunners in the league this season, winning the clash at Old Trafford back in September 3-1. More

The former Chelsea boss was appointed by Spurs in November 2021 as successor to Nuno Espirito Santo.
He helped inspire an upturn in form that led to Tottenham pipping Arsenal to fourth spot last term.
But things have gone backwards this time around, with Spurs’ performances largely poor even in victory.
Tottenham have picked up just four points from four league games since the Premier League resumed following the World Cup.
They sit fifth in the table, six points off the top four.
Conte has had to deal with a great deal of trauma this season.
Long-term friend and Spurs fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone passed away following a short illness in October.
While Italian pal Gianluca Vialli died earlier this month.

Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel have both been linked with Spurs job in recent weeks.

He remained undetected until he was on the concourse, where he shared a beer with mates.
It did not take long for fans to mob him but Terry seemed delighted with the attention.
Supporters began singing his name and the ex-defender joined in while bouncing up and down.

Talks are underway with Roma boss Jose Mourinho keen to sign the Moroccan World Cup star.
Ziyech has found himself back in the first team at Chelsea in recent weeks but fears for his long term future.
He struggled for a place in boss Graham Potter’s side before the World Cup in November and is only getting game time due to injuries and new arrivals.
Chelsea have Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic on their injury list and have just signed £88m wideman Mykhailo Mudryk.

Ziyech had fancied a move to Barcelona but would be keen to move to Serie A to play under Mourinho if it means more game time.
He joined Chelsea from Ajax for around £35m in 2020.
The left-footed ace has since made 98 appearances, scoring 14 times and laying on 11 assists.
Prior to the World Cup he started just one Prem match this term, while Thomas Tuchel was still at the helm.

But recent injuries have brought him back into contention – being selected to start three of his side’s last four.
These outings included yesterday’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool, during which he was unable to conjure a goal.
Chelsea have so far splashed £186.5m on permanent signings this month, as well as a further £10m loan fee on Joao Felix. More

Eni Aluko hopes to inspire young women who do not make it as footballers to take on other jobs in the sport

ENI ALUKO hopes young female players who do not make the grade as pros will not be deterred from pursuing football careers off the pitch. The former Chelsea star spoke out this week as Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall said female coaches and technical staff are “the most under-tapped resource in professional football”.

Debate around the lack of women working as coaches in the professional game as well as in backroom roles on these shores has been ongoing.
Currently just four managers in the WSL are female with Carla Ward, Emma Hayes, Kelly Chambers and Rehanne Skinner in charge of Aston Villa, Chelsea, Reading and Tottenham.
Last March a report produced by Fair Game, a collective of 34 football clubs stated that only 11.1 percent of board members at Premier League clubs are female.
Aluko is supporting a campaign backed by the Blues, and mobile phone firm Three, highlighting women working in coaching and football roles off the pitch.

The former England forward, 35, whose old club play Liverpool later, said said: “I’m passionate about encouraging girls and young women who may not necessarily make it as pros.
“There are so many other things to do in football if you love the game.
“It’s about what are the other career paths in the sport for women away from the pitch.
“The more we spotlight those careers, the more young women and girls can think, ‘even if I don’t play or make it as a pro, I can still have a career in the game’.”

Aluko, now a TV pundit, relished her previous post as sporting director at Aston Villa Women.
She helped the club to bring in a number of experienced internationals in the team’s first WSL season in 2020-21, including a loan swoop for Japan forward Mana Iwabuchi.
It is a job Aluko did from January 2020 before leaving to take up a similar post with US top-flight side Angel City in May 2021.
The team, who finished eighth in their first season in the National Women’s Soccer League last year, have a majority female ownership.
Their investors include Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman and retired 23-time tennis grand slam winner Serena Williams.

Aluko, who won eight major trophies Birmingham, Charlton, Chelsea and Juventus, became the National Women’s Soccer outfit’s first sporting director before departing this month.
She added: “I learned so much and gained a lot of great experience, particularly at Villa where the job was really to keep the team up in the first season, professionalise the women’s team and now you see where they are.
“Just from being an established WSL team, they’ve been able to go on and sign some top players like Rachel Daly.
“My job at Angel City was very much a unique role in terms of building the team from scratch, which I enjoyed doing.
“My skills as a trained lawyer and player fitted into that.”
Today Eluko’s former side Chelsea and her old boss Emma Hayes will bid to extend their three-point lead at the WSL’s summit when they take on Liverpool who are ninth.
The Blues lost their season-opening game against the Reds in September before embarking on a run of nine wins and a draw.
Aluko said: “Chelsea are very much where you’d expect them to be at the top of the table
“But it is quite a close title race this year with Man United playing brilliantly and Man City and Arsenal there as well.
“It’s great to see such a competitive title battle.
“I was at Chelsea’s match against Arsenal at the Emirates last Sunday when they drew (1-1) “Arsenal were probably the best team on the day but Chelsea always find a way of getting a result.”
Eluko, who won three league titles and two FA Cups during her two-year spell with the Blues has fond memories of watching Erin Cuthbert make her mark in the team in her early Chelsea days
The versatile midfielder and wing-back has notched up two goals and one assist in 10 starts this term
Goals including a wonder strike against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge which saw her win December’s WSL Goal of the Month award.
Aluko added: “I remember when Erin came to Chelsea and she was on trial. And we were like, ‘who is this cocky little player?’
“She has a bit of banter about her.

“I’ll never forget on the first day of her trial, she scored an incredible left-foot volley.
“We all looked at each other and said, ‘where did Emma find this girl?’.
“And that’s one of the best things about Emma, she always finds these sort of hidden gems.
“So many years later, Erin is still scoring important goals and knitting everything together and she’s so versatile.”
While Chelsea are targeting a fourth consecutive WSL title this term, Aluko believes her old boss will be keen to add a Champions League trophy to her silverware wins.
Aluko said: “There is no doubt, Emma wants to win the Champions League.
“That is what has eluded her and she will absolutely want to win it.
Aluko says Emma Hayes will be eager to lead Chelsea to Champions League gloryCredit: Reuters
“Evolution is a good word to use for Emma because that is what she is all about.

“She’s not a coach who is going to say, ‘because we won it this way last year, we’re going to do exactly the same thing’.

The experienced centre-back leaves London Stadium after 87 appearances in three seasons with the Hammers.
He helped David Moyes’ side to last season’s Europa League semi-finals – playing every minute in the knockout rounds.
Upon getting his man, Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs told the club’s official website: “Everyone will be aware it’s a signing we tried to do last window and it fell through in the end because the replacement West Ham were looking at fell through.
“Craig’s wanted to come here for the last six months, so it’s something we’ve kept warm and kept in touch on.

“His family are in the north of England, so for him it’s great to get closer to them.
“He’s a player we’ve wanted for a while, so it was great to get it done, even if it’s six months later than we wanted, but it’s good to get here now.”
Hobbs then added: “In my first interview, I talked about players who know the league are important.
“Personalities are important. We lost a few leaders in the summer with John [Ruddy], Conor [Coady] and Romain [Saiss].

“We’re bringing another leader into the group, which is always a positive, but if you look at our centre-backs, they’re all relatively young, not just in age, but also the number of games they’ve played in English league football, let alone the Premier League.
“The amount of games Craig has played, he can be a foil for those guys on and off the pitch.
“He’s going to be a very good player for our squad and will be someone our young centre-halves will learn a lot from and will help develop those players.”
Dawson helped West ham knock Sevilla, then managed by Julen Lopetegui, out of Europe last term.
He will help bolster Wolves’ survival bid, with the Molineux club still embroiled in a tussle at the bottom of the table.
Lopetegui’s men currently sit 17th in the Prem, only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
Dawson is Wolves’ third signing of a busy January window.
They previously recruited former Southampton and Fulham midfielder Mario Lemina form Nice, and Spanish international Pablo Sarabia from Paris Saint-Germain.
