Man Utd set for FULL takeover with Glazers ‘more likely to sell entire shares of club’ as sale enters formal stage

MAN UTD are reportedly set for a complete takeover when the Glazers sell the club. The Red Devils chiefs revealed in November that they were willing to listen to offers for either a stake in the Premier League giants or an outright purchase.

British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, 70, has since become the first businessperson to officially declare an interest in buying United.
And according to The Mail, the Glazers see more appeal in selling the club as opposed to offloading a percentage stake.
Huge investment is thought to be needed for renovations to Old Trafford and the training ground.
Some believed this would deter new owners from stepping forward, but that has reportedly not been the case.

Merchant bankers Raine Group, who helped with the sale of Chelsea last year, have been tasked with overseeing the process at the Theatre of Dreams.
And while it remains in the early stages, a more formal process is set to begin in the next “three to four weeks”.
The Glazers have owned United for 18 years but have never been liked by fans after plunging the club into vast amounts of debt while taking cash out.
Protests against the American family have been going on at Old Trafford for more than a decade.

Now the Glazers could be in the final stages of their reign as they prepare for offers to buy the club.
Ratcliffe, who is worth £15billion, first registered his interest last summer.
A spokesperson back then said: “If the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer.
“If something like this was possible, we would be interested in talking with a view to long-term ownership.
“This is not about the money that has been spent or not spent.
“Jim is looking at what can be done now and, knowing how important the club is to the city, it feels like the time is right for a reset.”
Ratcliffe, a lifelong United supporter, is a petrochemicals tycoon who at his peak was worth around £21billion.
He runs multi-billion-pound chemicals giant Ineos, which owns French club Nice, Swiss side Lausanne, plus a third of Formula One team Mercedes.
It also owns cycling team Ineos Grenadiers.

Ratcliffe made a last-gasp bid to buy Chelsea back in May, although his £4.25billion offer was rejected.
The club was eventually sold to Todd Boehly, who has not been afraid to splash the cash during his short time in charge. More

Malo Gusto ‘wants to join Chelsea ahead of Man Utd transfer as Blues prepare second bid after failed £18m offer’

MALO GUSTO reportedly wants to join Chelsea ahead of Manchester United. The Blues are thought to be preparing a second bid after having an £18million offer rejected by Lyon.

Chelsea have identified Gusto, 19, as the successor to iconic right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
Todd Boehly has already signed six players this month in a bid to back under-fire Graham Potter.
But the American chief wants more incomings before a new Uefa rule banning long-term contracts kicks in.
And Gusto is top of the list for Chelsea along with a new central midfielder.
    READ MORE ON CHELSEA
The teenager is rated as one of the brightest young talents in French football, prompting the Blues to launch an £18m bid yesterday.
The offer was turned down by Lyon, who are desperate to keep Gusto despite additional interest from Man United.
However, that could prove hard as Foot Mercato claims Gusto is desperate to join Chelsea regardless of United’s presence.
Potter is equally keen to sign Gusto as competition for injury-prone star Reece James.

And it’s reckoned Chelsea are now preparing a new bid for the young defender worth between £27m and £35m.
Should he move to Stamford Bridge, Gusto would become the latest French star to be snapped up by Chelsea.
The Blues currently boast three Les Bleus aces in N’Golo Kante, Wesley Fofana and new centre-back Benoit Badiashile.
Before them, attackers like Olivier Giroud, Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda lit up west London.
And there have been further fan favourites in Claude Makelele, Marcel Desailly and Frank Leboeuf.
But there have also been several French flops at the Bridge, including Tiemoue Bakayoko, Loic Remy and Lassana Diarra.
Others like William Gallas and Kurt Zouma evoked mixed feelings when they respectively joined rivals Arsenal and West Ham.
And Chelsea fans will be hoping Gusto is nothing but a sure-fire hit should he make the switch. More

The Red Devils travel to the City Ground for the first leg of the tie, with the aim of making it to their first final since the 2021 Europa League final defeat to Villarreal.
Rashford has been the star player as of late and keeping him fit and firing is crucial to the club’s aims for the remainder of the season.
And the England international is taking his post-match recovery seriously.

A second commented: “Bro is recharging.”

Standing in the chamber for around three minutes, liquid nitrogen freezes Rashford to incredibly low temperatures.
Cryotherapy beats muscle soreness and reduces swelling, inflammation or sprains – allowing Rashford to be ready for the next match or training session sooner.

Man Utd ‘are ready to cash in on Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay’ as Erik ten Hag targets transfer rebuild

TalkSport claims the Red Devils must sell before they can invest heavily in new recruits due to Financial Fair Player rules.
United have no intention of shaking up their squad this month, with just a week remaining in the window.
But Ten Hag has made it clear he intends to sweep away the dead wood to bring in some of his own signings this summer, with Chelsea target Malo Gusto on his list.
And one player in the firing line is axed captain Maguire.

The centre-back has started just four Premier League games this season, and is now fifth-choice in his position after Luke Shaw’s switch from the left.
West Ham are known to be keen after failing with a loan bid for Maguire last week.
And his exit would open the door for Ten Hag to appoint a new skipper.
As for McTominay, he too finds himself down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Harry Kane’s impressive Dream Team season partially obscured by Erling Haaland’s nonsense numbers

IN pretty much any other season, Harry Kane (£7.6m) would be the Premier League’s headline act for scoring 16 goals before the end of January. The 29-year-old is on track for a 30-goal campaign in the top flight, something he’s only achieved once before, in 2017/18.
However, Kane’s mightily impressive effort has been partially obscured by Erling Haaland (£8.8m), English football’s new apex predator.
    Changing the gameCredit: getty
Manchester City’s No9 has started writing a new chapter in the Premier League record books having plundered 25 goals from his first 19 appearances.
At the halfway stage, the prolific Norwegian poacher is just seven goals shy of Mohamed Salah’s (£8.6m) record of 32 goals in a 38-game season and he’s nine short of the record jointly held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer for most goals (34) in a single Prem campaign, both achieved when the league contained 22 teams.
Such has been the remarkable nature of Haaland’s nonsense, Kane’s campaign has seemed distinctly normal in comparison.
In reality, however, the England captain has once again underlined his credentials as a world-class centre-forward.
This is particularly true given the problems Tottenham are currently experiencing in regards to attacking fluency.
Take nothing away from Haaland, he is unmatched at what he does, but leading the line for Man City is a considerably more desirable role than fronting up Antonio Conte’s side right now.
Not many players could 16 league goals in half a season for this Spurs team on current formCredit: getty
On Monday night, Kane scored the only goal as Spurs beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage, a good result given the Cottagers results upon their return to the top flight.
    Most read in Dream Team
In doing so, the three-time Golden Boot winner equalled Jimmy Greaves’ record of 266 goals for the club.
Additionally, his next league goal will be his 200th, a landmark previously reached by just two players: Wayne Rooney and the aforementioned Shearer.
There will always be talk of trophies (or lack thereof) when Kane is the topic of discussion but to doubt his pedigree as an individual is to deny clear truth.
Kane remains an elite Dream Team asset
Naturally, Spurs’ No10 is set for another prosperous Dream Team campaign.
A Star Man display in west London on Monday night moved him onto 158 points in total, making him the third-best asset in his position -behind Marcus Rashford (£5.4m) and Haaland – and the fourth-best player overall.
He’s a full 72 points ahead of his next-best team-mate, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (£3.3m), an indication of how reliant Spurs are on their top scorer this term, especially with Son Heung-min (£5m) enduring a rare fallow period.
It’s thanks to Kane that Conte’s troops are still in the hunt for Champions League qualification and whether they finish inside the top four or not, Dream Team gaffers can rely on the Three Lions marksman to deliver plentiful returns as long as he’s fit. More

Three ways Jakub Kiwior could fit into Arsenal’s line up with versatile Pole able to play two positions

VERSATILE Jakub Kiwior could give Mikel Arteta new options in defence with the new signing able to play multiple positions.Arsenal landed the Polish international yesterday as their second January signing.

Kiwior will likely be used as a rotation centre-back – but there are other ways to use him
He joins Leandro Trossard in heading to the Emirates to give the club a boost as they look to land the Premier League for the first time since 2004.
Arteta could choose to deploy the defender in different ways, and he provides immediate cover should either Gabriel or William Saliba become injured.
If the pair remain fit, Kiwior can still be hopefully of getting some first-team football before May.
Arsenal remain in three competitions and the Europa League promises to test the depth of the squad the longer the Gunners stay in the tournament.

The 22-year-old could then be a rotation option and slot in alongside either Gabriel or Saliba, with the spare centre-back being given a rest.
Kiwior is known to be good with his feet and able to carry the ball forward, fitting the mould of an Arteta defender.
The star is also adept at slotting in at left-back, giving the manager a third choice in that position.
While Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney will likely remain as the first-choice options, Kiwior strengthens depth in that position.

Kiwior could offer a different option at left-back, a position he has played before
Arteta is unlikely to veer from a back four anytime soon, but Kiwior gives him the option to try something different
And with Zinchenko not a traditional full-back, Kiwior could offer a more defensive-minded fit in more difficult games.
There is also the chance the new signing could allow the Arsenal boss to completely reshape his team with a radical tactical switch.
While Arteta has proven to be committed to a back four, Kiwior means he can opt for a back three if the situation required it.
The lack of injuries and the brilliant form means there’s been no need for Arsenal to veer from the 4-2-3-1, but the extra body in defence provides the option for Arteta to spring a tactical surprise.
The Gunners sit five clear at the top of the table with a game in hand on nearest rivals Manchester City.
But with the pair still set to play each other twice in the league – and in the FA Cup on Friday – the London side still have work to do to seal silverware. More
