The Toffees are in need of reinforcements and have already seen one major transfer target fall by the wayside.
Arnaut Danjuma had a medical at the club and was expected to sign, only for Tottenham to swoop in and hijack the deal.
Now the Toffees have switched their attentions to the former Stoke City and West Ham star along with another forward, according to the Daily Mail.
This season the 33-year-old has been in good form in Italy, netting eight goals in 16 appearances for Bologna.

Manchester United was interested in signing the forward in the summer.
But a move failed to materialise after fan backlash to the proposed transfer.

“I’ve been in the world of football for many years and I know there could be clubs interested during the transfer window.

If a deal to Goodison Park comes off, Everton will be hoping he will be able to help fire them to Premier League safety.
The report also states that Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech, on the other hand, will not be moving to the club.
Recently axed boss Frank Lampard was a fan of the Moroccan winger, but following his exit, interest is now believed to have cooled.

He was appointed coach at United last season under Ralf Rangnick, but his spell at Old Trafford was one to forget.
It was reported that Rangnick left many of his coaching sessions to assistant Armas.
And Armas’ methods led to grumbles among players, with reports claiming some of the squad believed his and Rangnick’s ways are ‘old fashioned’.
And the ribbing didn’t stop there.

It was also reported some players have jokingly likened Armas to TV comedy character Ted Lasso.
Lasso is a hapless football coach from America, played by Jason Sudeikis, appointed at fictional team AFC Richmond in the self titled show on Apple TV+.
Sir Alex Ferguson is also believed to have been critical of Armas, who won 66 caps for the USA.

Why is Harry Kane’s free kick record so bad? Pundits come up with bizarre golf theory as shocking stats revealed

PUNDITS have come up with a bizarre golf theory to question why Tottenham star Harry Kane’s free-kick record is so bad.The 29-year-old only has one goal from a free-kick from 56 attempts in 312 Premier League appearances.
Harry Kane has one free-kick goal in over 300 Prem appearancesCredit: Rex
talkSPORT host Jason Cundy likened free-kick taking to golf – a sport Kane is a big fan ofCredit: Getty
That’s a success rate of just 1.78 per cent, according to Opta.
Despite this, he’s Spurs’ free-kick taker, stepping up from anywhere around the 18-yard box with a realistic chance of a shot on goal.
Ex-footballers Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara questioned why Kane is so poor from free-kicks despite his ruthlessness in front of goal.
O’Hara’s main explanation is that Kane is an instinct player.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
But when taking free-kicks, Kane has more time to think about where he wants to place his shot, which doesn’t work out quite so well for him.
O’Hara said on talkSPORT: “Why is he [Kane] so bad a free-kicks though? I’ve got a philosophy around why he’s so bad at free-kicks.
“Harry Kane, when you watch him play, everything is instinct. You know, he’s got instinct. Striker’s instinct. His first touch.
“Everything is about his brain moving quickly. When he takes free-kicks, he’s got a moment to set himself, he’s got time, he thinks about it, he has to think about the technique.”

But former Chelsea and Tottenham ace Cundy has questioned why Kane’s so bad with free-kicks when he’s good at golf, where both balls are hit from a stationary position.
Cundy said: “Is he any good at golf?”
Kane is a good golfer and has taken part in an event called Icons Series, featuring sports stars from around the world.
Cundy continued: “Well then, what’s the difference? Because the ball’s still.
“Here’s the thing about golf, right. So a moving ball, yes it comes at you, you can time it.
“Golf, the ball doesn’t move. The ball doesn’t move, it’s there. The ball’s not going anywhere. It’s going to stay there, ‘just hit me’.”
Cundy concluded: “Set-pieces outside the box, he can’t strike it over a wall.
“You’re talking about going over a wall or around the wall.
“Unless I’m wrong, is there a wall in a penalty? Is there a wall in a penalty or not, or am I going crazy?”
O’Hara said: “He has got to be the worst-best free-kick taker ever.
“He’s classed as the best free-kick taker in Spurs’ team because he’s always taking free-kicks. He’s the worst free-kick taker I’ve ever seen.”
Kane’s woes from free-kicks hasn’t stopped him from becoming Spurs’ joint-top scorer in the club’s history.

The England captain’s winner over Fulham on Monday was goal No266 for Spurs, drawing level with the late, great Jimmy Greaves.
It was also Kane’s 199th Prem goal in just 312 appearances. More

Value of clubs have also been boosted with the return of fans to stadiums following the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the pandemic, revenues dropped due to games having to be played behind closed doors.

Now the study has revealed the value of the Premier League clubs with the Red Devils coming out on top with a value of £4.8billion.
They beat rivals Liverpool to the top spot, with the Anfield side coming in at £3.8bn.

Haidara, 24, who signed for Leipzig from RB Salzburg in 2019, has contributed 12 goals and eight assists in 133 appearances for the German side.
According to The Independent, Brighton have seen an offer for the midfielder rejected by the Bundesliga outfit.
It is understood that Leipzig do not want to sell in January as they believe it would be a struggle to find a replacement.
Leipzig are currently just four points off Bayern Munich at the top of the table.

But Haidara’s failure to secure a move in January may only postpone his exit as he has a clause in his contract which will allow him to leave in the summer.
Man Utd and Newcastle have previously been interested in him.
But if Brighton can secure his services, that may free up Seagulls man Caicedo to depart the club.
The Ecuadorian, 21, has been linked with a move to both Arsenal and Chelsea.

He could yet join former team-mate Leandro Trossard at the Emirates, or Marc Cucurella at Stamford Bridge.
But Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is determined to keep his midfield maestro.
Speaking earlier this month, he said: “He is very important for us, it would be difficult to change with another player now.
“I hope he finishes the season with us, but you know in the transfer market it is always difficult to give you one answer.
“When there are some bigger teams and they want one of our players, it is good news for us.
“The best solution for us is he can finish the season with us. Next summer, for him, is better to change team.” More
