The Daily Mail report that the Toon could have to pay £55million for his services.
Gordon has not been in attendance at Everton’s Finch Farm training ground over the last three days, the first was a planned absence.
The 21-year-old is a boyhood fan of the club but he wants out in January with the manager-less team in turmoil.
The player has another 18 months left on his contract but they will reportedly hold out for as high a fee as possible.

Chelsea showed plenty of interest in the summer, having multiple bids turned down worth a supposed £60m.
Gordon has featured 18 times for the Merseyside club this season, scoring three goals.
However, he has not started any of Everton’s last five matches in all competitions and was an unused substitute when they were chasing a goal in the 2-0 loss to West Ham.

And selling Gordon could hand any new manager money to spend in the transfer market, with the squad needing reinforcing to stay in the Premier League.
The likes of Sean Dyche, Marcelo Bielsa and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have been linked with the vacant role, but days are running out for them to make the most of the transfer market.

Newcastle have plenty of cash to spend after investment from mega-rich Saudi Arabian owners.

Everton star Amadou Onana SNUBS Chelsea transfer interest leaving door open for Arsenal to sign £50m-rated midfielder

EVERTON star Amadou Onana has snubbed a move to Chelsea which could open the door for Arsenal to get revenge for their Mykhailo Mudryk hijacking.Onana’s future on Merseyside looks bleak after Sky Sports reported that he failed to report to training on Tuesday.

And the Telegraph claimed that Chelsea, who were desperate to sign a midfielder this month, have shown an interest.
This comes despite Everton wanting to keep Onana, although they do have financial problems due to FFP.
But French outlet L’Equipe now believe the 21-year-old has decided against a Stamford Bridge switch.
That could open the door for Arsenal, who are reportedly interested in the midfielder following an injury to Mohamed Elneny.

The report claims the Gunners have contacted Everton over his services.
But Onana only joined in the summer window and the Toffees have therefore set an asking price of £50m.
Mikel Arteta has already added to his squad with the signings of Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior, but he still wants to bolster his midfield.
Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey have been the Spaniard’s starting pair this season, but Arteta only has Albert Sambi Lokonga as backup.

And while the Premier League tops Arsenal’s priority list, they’re still in two other competitions.
They travel to Manchester City in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday and are waiting to discover their last 16 opponents in the Europa League.
The trip to the Etihad could see Trossard make his full Gunners debut after he was a late substitute in Sunday’s win over Manchester United.
He missed Brighton’s third round victory at Middlesbrough earlier this month, which means he is NOT cup tied and therefore eligible to play. More

Everton lining up transfer for Dnipro striker Artem Dovbyk after having Arnaut Danjuma stolen from them by Tottenham

EVERTON are considering a move for Dnipro striker Artem Dovbyk in a bid to boost their survival hopes. The Toffees are still on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Frank Lampard earlier this week, but with the window closing in a matter of days they cannot afford to hang around in terms of signings.

Having already had Arnaut Danjuma snatched from under their noses by Tottenham, Everton are hopeful that the sale of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle could fund some late January spending.
The Toffees have desperately struggled for goals this season with only Wolves (12) scoring fewer than their 15 across 20 games so far this season.
Dovbyk, who has previously been linked to Nottingham Forest, has 11 goals in 14 Premier Liga appearances so far this term.
The Ukraine international, 25, has a further five goals and two assists in six Europa Conference League outings.

Dovbyk is represented by the same agency who recently secured Mykhailo Mudryk an £88million move to Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Everton are also tracking Sheffield United forward Iliman Ndiaye.
The Senegal international, 22, has ten goals and seven assists in 28 Championship appearances for the Blades so far this season.
However, Sheffield United are reluctant to sanction a sale as they push for promotion back to the Premier League while operating under a transfer embargo.

The EFL punishment means that, regardless of how much Everton are willing to pay, the Blades would not be able to replace one of their key men this month.
Everton also need to fund a move for a new manager and appear to have missed out on Marcelo Bielsa after he demanded £6m a year to join.
Sean Dyche and Sam Allardyce are also in the running to take over with the Toffees in danger of relegation. More

He was relieved of his duties at around 2.30pm – but it took the Toffees almost six hours to confirm his exit.
Former Leeds boss Bielsa, 67, has been identified as a possible replacement for Lampard.

And Bielsa has jetted to London to meet with the Everton board, according to the Daily Mail.
There were initial fears he would reject the job due to concerns that the squad is lacking pace.

The Mail claim Bielsa told Everton’s board that the current crop of players are too slow to play his brand of football.
However, the Argentine manager has now flown into the capital to hold further talks with the club.
Owner Farhad Moshiri axed Lampard with the Toffees 19th in the Premier League table after just three wins in 20 games.
Pressure is mounting on Moshiri following furious protests against the board from the Everton faithful.

But he will have to up his pay offer if he wants Bielsa to take over from Lampard.
Bielsa is understood to have told Everton that he wants at least the £6million he was paid during his three-and-a-half years at Leeds.
Leeds sacked Bielsa 11 months ago, and he has been out of work ever since.
And Bielsa, who was caught up in a Spygate row with Lampard four years ago, could now ironically replace him at Goodison Park.
In January 2019, the then-Leeds boss sent a member of his staff to watch rivals Derby train.
The Rams were managed by a furious Lampard and Bielsa held his hands up over the spying storm.
Paul Tait and Under-21s manager Leighton Baines are taking Everton training until a new boss is appointed.
The Toffees host league leaders Arsenal in their next game on February 4, before a short trip across Stanley Park for a Merseyside Derby against Liverpool nine days later.

Newcastle tipped to seal shock Harry Kane and Son Heung-min transfer in huge raid on Premier League rivals Tottenham

HARRY KANE and Son Heung-Min have been tipped to seal a sensational double transfer to Newcastle. The pair are Tottenham’s prized assets and it would take a gargantuan effort to bring both to St James’ Park.

Kane and Son have proved deadly for Spurs this season, though Kane in particular is having a fine season
But this has not stopped ex-midfielder Nobby Solano from speculating the club could go all out to sign the pair.
Speaking on No Tippy Tappy Football, from William Hill and Footy Accumulators, Solano was asked what one player he would sign for Newcastle.

In response, he said: “I’ve got two. I’ve been watching a little bit and would love to see Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in black and white.
“Somebody told me Newcastle had unlimited cash. If they signed [Kane], they’d definitely finish in the Champions League.

“He’s still quite young at 29, and he’s just a phenomenal player.”
Kane in particular has been in fantastic form once again this season.
The England skipper has 16 goals in the Premier League, sitting only behind Erling Haaland’s outrageous tally of 25.
Kane will have one year left on his current deal once the summer rolls around, and Erik ten Hag has reportedly made signing Kane for Manchester United his No1 priority in the summer.

United are in need of a top-class striker to take the next step under Ten Hag, but Kane is also wanted by Bayern Munich.
With Tottenham’s Champions League status also hanging in the balance – likely with Man Utd and Newcastle’s respective fates intertwined as well – Kane may opt to go where the best football is.
However, Newcastle’s place in the Carabao Cup has led to Solano declaring a cup win to be more important than a top-four spot.
He added: “I think Newcastle will finish in the Europa League places.
“It’s more important for them to win a trophy – the fans are desperate for any piece of silverware.
“They’ve now got a wonderful opportunity to win the League Cup, so Eddie [Howe] will have everyone – including myself – supporting them. I think the fans deserve it, they’re lovely people.
“They’ve got a great chance against Southampton, who aren’t in the best of places in the league, so it’s a brilliant opportunity for them to finally win some silverware this season.”
Solano made 315 appearances for Newcastle between 1998 and 2007, though had a two-year spell at Aston Villa from 2004 to 2006. More

Roy Keane lauds Lisandro Martinez and points out same characteristic that made him become Man Utd legend

FORMER Manchester United captain Roy Keane has lauded Lisandro Martinez and singled out one quality that saw him become a legend at Old Trafford. The defender has been one of the many success stories under Erik ten Hag and put in a man of the match display to help the Red Devils win 3-0 at Nottingham Forest in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Marcus Rashford, Wout Weghorst and Bruno Fernandes scored the goals, but Martinez’s defensive performance also played a key role in putting the Red Devils on course to reach their first domestic cup final since 2018.
And Keane has been thrilled with Martinez’s form.
He told Sky Sports: “Obviously the manager has worked with him, so we talk about that character, that desire, we’ve seen already the benefits of having that at the club over the last few months.
“He wants to defend and he looks the right character – the kind of lad you want to be in the trenches with.

“We saw tonight, United got a goal towards the end but he still wants to defend.
“It’s important to score the three goals but from a defender’s point of view he’ll be delighted with a clean sheet.”
Martinez, who arrived at Old Trafford for £55m in the summer, has formed an impressive partnership with Raphael Varane and has already played 28 games for United.
He endured a testing start to his Prem career and was questioned for his 5ft 9 stature following the defeats to Brighton and Brentford.

But Martinez has dusted himself down to emerge as one of Ten Hag’s most consistent performers, which has quickly seen him become a fan-favourite.
Keane added: “He’s an excellent player, comes across as a really good character, gives them good balance.
“We talk about modern defenders and how good they have to be on the ball, but he looks as if his priority is defending.
“When he does get on the ball he’s neat and tidy. As we’ve seen, he can see a pass, but he’s got pride in his defending which is great to see.
“Because again, a lot of the time with modern defenders it’s about what they do in possession, but he wants to defend and he’s got real pride in it.” More

How Everton could line up under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer including Harry Maguire and Phil Jones shock transfers

EVERTON are looking for a new manager following the sacking of Frank Lampard. The former Chelsea boss was sacked earlier this week with the club in turmoil – sitting joint-bottom of the Premier League table in 19th place.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been linked with the vacant role at EvertonCredit: PA
Here is how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could set up Everton
One of the potential candidates to take over at Goodison Park is ex-Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian has been out of a job since he was dismissed by the Red Devils in November 2021.
However, he has been linked with a return to the dugout, reportedly holding talks with Everton.
The club are supposedly impressed with his re-build at Man Utd and could be willing to appoint him to save the Toffees from relegation.

If Solskjaer was to join, reports suggest he could raid his former club for players.
The likes of Harry Maguire, Phil Jones and Scott McTominay could all be sold by United and the 49-year-old may consider a reunion.
Jones is a forgotten man, Maguire could be set to leave for more first-team action on loan and the club could cash-in on McTominay in order to spend big in the summer.
Solskjaer could use his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation if he is appointed Everton boss.

A defensive spine of Jones, Maguire and McTominay could be supported by one of Everton’s best players in Amadou Onana and Seamus Coleman’s experience could prove vital in the battle to stay up.
Further forward, Solskjaer likes to have speed on either flank, shown by his choice of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho at Old Trafford.
Demarai Gray and Anthony Gordon would be able to offer similar directness on the counter-attack.
Alex Iwobi was converted into a more central player by Lampard and with the lack of obvious No10 he seems the most likely option.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the line despite Everton wanting to add another striker to the squad with reported interest in Marko Arnautovic.
Alternatively, Solskjaer could use wing-backs to make the team more defensively solid, a formation he used on a number of occasions at United.
Conor Coady is a leader and experienced at the heart of three centre-backs and could come play in that system.
Young right-back Nathan Patterson could feature providing more energy than Coleman.
Gordon is attracting interest from Newcastle and Chelsea amid rumours he could be sold after not reporting for training.

Onana could also leave so both may not be available by the time Solskjaer potentially arrives.
James Garner is a Man Utd youth product that could be handed more chances.
