The Red Devils want have been monitoring the situation at the Serie A club after the Italian giants were given a huge 15-point penalty for orchestrating a transfer scam over three seasons.
This could lead to a move for Chiesa, according to Calcio Mercato.

Should they sign Chiesa, it would free up in-form Marcus Rashford to become a specialised striker and play through the middle.

Juventus face a battle to qualify for the Champions League next season and miss out on the financial benefits that the competition brings due to their points penalty.
The Turin-based side is 14 points off the pace of Lazio and Inter Milan, who sit on 37 points in 3rd and 4th place respectively.

Juventus’ new CEO Maurizio Scanavino had admitted that the club is trying to appeal the penalty.
He said: “We consider this sentence absolutely unjust and unfair.
“In the coming days we await the reasons, which should arrive by the end of the month, but we will certainly appeal to CONI [Italian Federation of Football] to support our positions, which are very solid and clear, and which had already been successfully accepted in the ordinary process.
“The club is already organizing the defence and the appeal to CONI for a sentence that inevitably influences – and immediately – also the club’s transfer market.” More

Man Utd icon Roy Keane admits he never warmed to Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand and had a bust-up over watching X Factor

ROY KEANE revealed he never warmed to Wayne Rooney or Rio Ferdinand in the Manchester United dressing room. The former hardman said he did not get the England striker or team-mate Ferdinand’s banter – and did not miss them after he left Old Trafford.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane claimed he never warmed to Wayne Rooney or Rio Ferdinand
Keane, 51, reckoned he was not on the same wavelength as Roo, who is 14 years his junior.
And that was highlighted during their playing days on a trip to Newcastle where the night before in the hotel Keane was watching rugby league on the TV before Rooney changed the channel to watch the X Factor and hid the remote control.
Roo – who retired from playing to become permanent Derby manager two years ago – claimed later it led to an argument between the pair and Keane respected him for standing up to him.
But Keane, speaking on Sky Sports’ The Football Show said: “We certainly didn’t have an argument, let me tell you.
“I like my rugby league and yeah, someone did change the channel and I wasn’t happy.
“But we didn’t have an argument about it. I came down for breakfast the next day and Wayne said ‘Did you find the control?’
“So I told him where to go. If that’s an argument, God help us. I certainly didn’t respect Wayne because he stood up to me and wanted to watch the X Factor.
“I had a lot of respect for Wayne because I thought he was a brilliant player.

“I wouldn’t say I warmed to the guy, I certainly didn’t dislike him. But the lad’s on a different wavelength, different banter and if hiding the control was his type of banter then… not for me.”
Keane made 480 appearances for United in 12 years, but he said: “Near the end, I remember thinking I don’t get some of the boys.
“I don’t get their banter or humour. I rarely had a conversation with anyone.
“When I left there were a lot of players I didn’t miss. The game was changing and maybe I was a bit grumpy, a bit old school.
“I didn’t get Wayne or Rio, I didn’t get their banter or what they stood for sometimes. It was probably a personal thing.
“The game was changing and I had changed with it but towards the end at United with the players coming through I didn’t always get them.
“Personality-wise they were not for me.
“Obviously, they were very good players and I was delighted to play with them but in terms of banter or having a cup of coffee with them? No forget it.”

How Arsenal could line up in crunch FA Cup clash vs Man City with Jakub Kiwior in line for debut but three players OUT

MIKEL ARTETA faces the dilemma of whether to prioritise the league or Arsenal’s favourite trophy. The Gunners are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester City, but Arteta must decide whether to prioritise his squad in the league or play strong in the cup.

One way Arsenal may line up with Thomas Partey and Oleksandr Zinchenko rested
Pep Guardiola, Arteta’s tutor, has a far deeper squad than his counterpart for tonight’s clash.
And changes are likely to occur to the lineups of both sides in a pseudo-dress rehearsal for when the pair clash for a major title battle in the league at the Emirates on February 15.
Arteta has already realised the psychological advantage a win here might have on the clash in a few weeks time.
He said: “Big match, big test for us against in my opinion the best team in the world. Looking forward to it because it’s going to tell us a lot about where we are.”

Consequently, Arteta may line up his Arsenal side similarly to his league team.
However, Thomas Partey’s integral part in the team could see him rested along with the injury-prone Oleksandr Zinchenko, while there are generally a lack of high-quality options in the attack.
Arteta confirmed Gabriel Jesus, Mo Elneny and Reiss Nelson were all out of the tie, but hinted new boys Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior may feature.
Trossard has already seen involvement for Arsenal after impressing fans with a short cameo against Manchester United.

His quality and versatility can give the attack some much-needed respite, though his preference for the left means he is more likely to replace Gabriel Martinelli than Bukayo Saka.
Kiwior may feature in place of Gabriel, with Arteta wanting a left-footed CB on the left side.
But if Kiwior comes into the fold Arteta may wish to play it safe by preserving his strong spine by playing both Partey and Zinchenko.
A number of fringe players are also pushing for starts, which could prompt calls for the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu, though cup keeper Matt Turner will all but certainly play.
Emile Smith Rowe is slowly returning to fitness and will likely feature in some capacity, but it would be a surprise to see him from the start due to having just 16 minutes under his belt since Christmas.
Arsenal’s next game after the FA Cup clash will be in a week’s time against struggling Everton – who could enjoy a new manager bounce with Sean Dyche set to be appointed.

The final nail in the coffin for Schreuder was a draw with FC Volendam.

“The manager’s contract ran till June 30, 2024, but has been terminated.

“The disappointing results and lack of development within the team are the main reason for this decision. The management of the club is no longer confident about their agreement.”
Under current Manchester United boss Ten Hag, Ajax won the last three full Eredivisie league campaigns – with one campaign in the middle voided due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On top of their league struggles, which see them sitting down in fifth, Ajax failed to progress from their Champions League group, though did earn a Europa League play-off spot against Union Berlin by coming third.
Following his Ajax departure, Ten Hag has set about the mammoth task of turning around the fortunes of the Red Devils.

Everton ‘slash £20m off Anthony Gordon transfer fee as he refuses to return to training in bid to force Newcastle move’

EVERTON have slashed their asking price for Anthony Gordon, reports suggest. Gordon, 21, has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park since the summer but only now does this transfer really appear to be making headway.

Gordon’s form has been patchy this season
Newcastle have returned to the negotiating table following their interest in the summer.
Everton had been hoping to get a fee of around £60million for the winger.
However, after Gordon missed training for the third day in a row, the club are set to be forced to accept lower offers.
According to The Telegraph, this rebellious attitude – with Gordon telling the club he does not want to return – has weakened Everton’s position.

This means that instead of holding out for a package worth £60m, they are only likely to be able to fetch £40m.
With the window slamming shut in a number of days, Everton need to sell Gordon in order to make funds available for their next manager to spend before the deadline.
Gordon has scored three times in the Premier League this season from 16 games but has failed to add any assists to this tally – not helped by creating just 0.5 Expected Assists.

On the two previous occasions they’ve lost comfortably and if this game goes to form, a third defeat is on the cards.
