Caicedo released a statement on Friday night urging Brighton to accept the Gunners’ original £60m bid.
Chelsea had also already seen an offer worth £55m turned down by the south-coast outfit.
Brighton responded to Caicedo’s demand by telling him to stay away from training until after the January transfer window closes on Tuesday.
He was also informed he would play no part in their FA Cup clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

Now, according to The Mail, Arsenal have returned with a second offer consisting of £60m plus £10m in add-ons.
It comes after Thomas Partey was taken off at half-time during the Gunners’ 1-0 defeat to Man City in the FA Cup on Friday .
Brighton insist they will not sell, but reports suggest they may considering a deal at £80m.
The young midfielder, who has been a key part of Roberto De Zerbi’s side this season, is concerned he will not be in demand in the summer if Arsenal and Chelsea turn their attention towards West Ham captain Declan Rice.

That’s why he took to Instagram on Friday in a desperate attempt to convince Brighton to allow him his move.
He wrote: “I am grateful to Mr. Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with heart.
“I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing in Santa Domingo in Ecuador.
“My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador.
“I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful.
“The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”
Brighton sit sixth in the Premier League table and are in contention for a European place.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are keen to bolster their squad in order to maintain their title challenge.
And Chelsea are continuing to swoop for a host of players having already splashed nearly £200m in the January window. More

Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand shares hilarious story of moment he realised Roy Keane was ‘crazy’ after big-money transfer

RIO FERDINAND has revealed the hilarious moment he realised Roy Keane was “crazy.”That’s after the Irishman snapped at him during his first training session at Manchester United.

The Red Devils icons spent three-and-a-half years together at Old Trafford.
And United fans would give anything to have them back in their prime.
But Ferdinand admits he was not initially sold on working with Keane following his £30million move to United from Leeds in 2002.
In those days, the midfielder was captain at the Theatre of Dreams and famous for his take-no-prisoners attitude.

Ferdinand’s British transfer record fee made him the new golden boy when he rocked up for his first training session at Carrington.
But Keane’s “crazy” reaction to his passing gave Ferdinand cause for concern.
The six-time Premier League winner, 44, said: “I got the ball and passed to Gary Neville, who was on my team.
“In a normal game that was a great ball, pass to your teammate, go up the pitch.

“And then Keane turned around and just started going, ‘Pass it forward, take risks, you’re not at Leeds or West Ham now, you’re at Man United’.
“I stood there and thought, ‘This guy is crazy, what’s he doing? I passed to a teammate, surely I’m doing alright’.
“I got home later that day and thought,’This guy is nuts, how am I going to deal with him on a daily basis?’
“And then I realised that you’ve got to take chances and that’s how I ended up playing my career, not passing the simple ball to Gary but into the strikers to make a difference.”
Unfortunately for Ferdinand, his working relationship with Keane came to an abrupt end in November 2005 when the midfielder left United after a bust-up with Sir Alex Ferguson.
Keane, 51, departed Old Trafford for Celtic with seven titles, four FA Cups and the 1999 Champions League.
As for Ferdinand, he added the Champions League to his own collection in 2008, but never managed to get his hands on an FA Cup with United. More

Erik ten Hag has his say on Harry Maguire being Man Utd’s ‘fifth choice’ centre-back and urges England star to fight

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Erik ten Hag has had his say on claims Harry Maguire is the club’s “fifth-choice” centre-back.Maguire has seen his game time limited this season owing to the strong partnership of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

The League Cup quarter-final against Charlton was the last time Maguire played significant minutes
When either of the pair has not played, the likes of Victor Lindelof or full-back Luke Shaw have been preferred in the position ahead of Maguire in some recent games.
But the United manager rebuked the claim of him being fifth in the pecking order and urged the England defender to fight for his place in the team.
He told reporters: “He’s not our fifth choice. Harry has to fight for his position and things can change — sometimes also really quickly.
“I think he is making progress and it’s up to him now.”

Shaw missed the Carabao Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest and remains 50-50 for the FA Cup clash against Reading tonight.
This means Ten Hag has no natural left-sided centre halves asides from Martinez – who he will doubtless want to give a rest where he can.
This means Maguire could step back into the left-sided role despite being deployed more typically on the right this season.
Alternatively, Lindelof could simply be swapped into the left-sided role instead, though he prefers to play on the right side too.

Further up the pitch, compatriot Jadon Sancho is “improving” after returning to first-team training following a prolonged absence.
On the 22-year-old’s return, Ten Hag said: “He is training with the team & we will see [when he can return to play minutes].
“He’s improving, he’s making steps & we will make the decision after the training.”
Should he feature at all, Sancho will more likely see a cameo from the bench than from the start of the clash at Old Trafford. More
