True to his ten tough years in charge of Burnley, Dyche has “set the tone” in his bid to lift the second-bottom Toffees to Premier League safety.
Frank Lampard’s successor insists his Everton squad has quality.
But he believes only adding “sweat” will help it shine.
That’s why Dyche has brought in a new guideline for training, ahead of Saturday’s home clash with leaders Arsenal.

He’s decided to stamp his mark – by making sure every player wears shin pads and match socks and shorts in training.
Dyche, 51, said: “We’re ready to work… That starts with sweat on the shirt, effort and getting back to some of the basic principles of what Everton has stood for for a long time.
“We want to bring back a good feeling. We need the fans, we need unity and we need everyone aligned. That starts with us as staff and players.
“Our aim is to put out a team that works, that fights and wears the badge with pride.

“There is quality in this squad, but we have to make them shine.”
Dyche aims to make the Toffees as resilient and organised as Burnley became when qualifying for the 2018-19 Europa League.
He said: “We want to change the shape of this club going forward, remodel it in our style, but in a way that we can win.
“That’s the task – make sure we’re building, tactically and technically, giving players organisation, allow them freedom to play, to enjoy their football because it’s brilliant when the team’s playing with a smile. But we’ve got to win.” More

Mbappe, widely seen as among the world’s best players, would have been as a key factor in overcoming the German opponents.

His biography reads: “An exciting striker who has been well ahead of schedule in terms of his progress through the ranks at United and has made a huge impact in 2019/20.”
He today had all charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control against him dropped.
Greenwood was first arrested in January last year after police swooped on his mansion.
He was due to stand trial in November accused of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.

The Crown Prosecution today confirmed they had dropped all charges against him.
A spokesperson said: “We have a duty to keep cases under continuous review.
“In this case a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction.
“In these circumstances, we are under a duty to stop the case.

“We have explained our decision to all parties.
“We would always encourage any potential victims to come forward and report to police and we will prosecute wherever our legal test is met.”
Greenwood last appeared in court in November where a trial date was set for November 23 this year.
The alleged offences related to one woman and were said to have taken place between November 1, 2018, and October 15, 2022.
Greenwood was accused of “repeatedly engaging” in controlling and coercive behaviour for almost four years – including making threats and derogatory comments on social media.
He was also charged with attempting to rape the woman on October 21, 2021, and allegedly assaulted her between December 12, 2021, and December 31, 2021.
The footballer was originally remanded in custody after being charged by police on October 15.
But a judge released him on the condition he does not contact witnesses, including the complainant, and resides at an address in Bowdon.
The striker also spent three nights in custody after he was arrested at his £15,000-a-month rented home in Trafford last January.
He was suspended from Utd but still received his £75,000-a-week salary.
Greenwood was removed from FIFA 22 and dropped by sponsors Nike in the wake of the allegations.
Football Manager 2022 also confirmed he would not feature in the game.
All merchandise bearing the No11’s name was axed from the official Utd site and teammates unfollowed him on Instagram.
Greenwood last played for the Red Devils on January 22 last year when the team beat West Ham 1-0.
The player joined the club aged just six and rose through the ranks to land himself a regular spot on the first team.
In 2019, he became the youngest footballer to play for United in the Champions League when he took to the pitch aged 17.
Greenwood has made 129 appearances in total for the Red Devils and netted 35 goals.
In 2020, England manager Gareth Southgate gave the striker his first cap when Greenwood came off the bench in a 1-0 win against Iceland.
Greenwood missed out on last year’s Three Lions’ World Cup campaign in Qatar as the case went to court.
Utd have not yet released a statement following the development.
Chief Superintendent Michaela Kerr, GMP’s Head of Public Protection, said today: “The investigation team has remained in regular contact with the legal team, providing any updates of note, and so understand the rationale for the discontinuation of proceedings at this stage, and that this decision has not been taken lightly.
“Despite the media and public’s interest in this case, we have decided not to comment on it in any further detail.
“I would, however, like to use this opportunity to reiterate GMP’s commitment to investigating allegations of violence against women and girls and supporting those affected, regardless of their circumstances, throughout what can be a hard and upsetting time for them.

Yet despite the Toffees’ poor form, the Gunners know they will be in for a tough game as it will be the hosts’ first match under new boss Sean Dyche.
And things could yet prove even more challenging for the league leaders at Goodison Park.
That is because they are sweating over the fitness of key man Partey, 29.
The likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka all looked in good spirits during Thursday’s session.

But Partey did not appear to be taking part in the session after coming off with a suspected rib injury during their FA Cup defeat to Man City last Friday.
Reacting on social media, one fan identified Partey’s absence from training, saying: “Good to see Nelson but no Partey or Smith-Rowe”.
While another added: “No Partey on training pictures 😭😭😭”.
And a third said: “Thomas Partey not spotted in any of the training pics I have seen. Thought they said it was just a minor rib pain? 😭”.

Arteta played down the seriousness of the issue after the game, with the Arsenal boss saying: “He had some discomfort and it was getting worse and worse, so he could not continue. He wasn’t comfortable to continue.
“Obviously tomorrow, the day after he will have to have an MRI scan and see what he has.”
But his absence from training now means Arteta faces an anxious wait over the fitness of the Ghanaian international.
If he is ruled out, it could mean a debut for Italian Jorginho – who joined the Gunners from Chelsea on deadline day.
A win for Arsenal would extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points before Man City travel to Tottenham on Sunday.

The Amsterdam giants have now confirmed that former Under-23 coach Heitinga, 39, will be in charge until June when a permanent appointment will be made.
Ajax announced: “Ajax and John Heitinga have agreed on the 39-year-old ex-football player remaining head coach of Ajax 1 for the rest of the season.

“Dwight Lodeweges has been appointed as assistant coach in Heitinga’s technical staff, with immediate effect.”
Schreuder’s short stint at Ajax came to an end after a run of seven competitive games without a win, even though they only lost once to PSV Eindhoven.

The final nail in the coffin for the Dutch tactician was a draw with Volendam.
Everton cult hero Heitinga replaced him and ended the winless streak with a 4-1 win at Excelsior on Sunday.
But he still has a lot of work to do with Ajax sitting fourth in the table, five points behind Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord.
Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar said: “We are convinced that this is the right solution. John is on a clear and steady path, which has resulted in him developing himself very well over the years.

“Gerry Hamstra, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, and I have had multiple conversations, and we obviously held some with John. We feel confident about John’s qualities and the vision he has.
“While looking for additions to the technical staff, we unanimously agreed on Dwight Lodeweges. His knowledge and extensive coaching experience work complementary to John and the rest of the staff.
“The team now has to win, work on their confidence, and develop themselves further. We still have a lot to fight for this season.”
Heitinga enjoyed a successful career as a footballer that saw him win two Eredivisie titles with Ajax.

The former centre-back was also part of the Netherlands squad that made it to the 2010 World Cup Final.
The Dutchman spent five years at Everton after his move from Atletico Madrid in 2009.

How Man Utd lined up last time they won 12 home games in a row as Erik ten Hag turns Old Trafford into fortress again

MAN UTD’S 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday evening was their 12th home victory in a row in all competitions. It is a run that has seen Erik ten Hag’s men move into the top four in the Premier League table, reach the fifth round of the FA Cup and the final of the Carabao Cup.

But more than that, it is a feat that the Red Devils have not achieved since Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge more than a decade ago.
The last time Man Utd won 12 or more home matches on the spin during a single season was a run of form from December 2010 to May 2011.

Ferguson’s side put together a tremendous streak of 17 WINS at Old Trafford as they reclaimed the Premier League title and reached the final of the Champions League.
It carried on into the following campaign as they won three more home games in the 2011/12 season, before a 3-3 draw with Basel ended the sequence.

How Man Utd lined up the last time they secured a 12th home win in a row
SunSport has taken a look at United’s team the last time they reached 12 home wins in a row – which came in a 2-0 win over Fulham.
Certain members of the side may have been forgotten by some football fans.
In goal was former Polish keeper Tomasz Kuszczak – as No1 Edwin van der Sar was unavailable.
The back four consisted of John O’Shea, Chris Smalling, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra.

Remarkably, Smalling is still playing at the top level 12 years on for Roma.
Ferguson’s midfield trio was comprised of legend Paul Scholes, Brazilian Anderson and Irishman Darron Gibson – who would go on to feature for Everton, Sunderland and Wigan.
And up front Dimitar Berbatov led the line, flanked by wingers Antonio Valencia and Nani.
Both Berbatov and Valencia got on the scoresheet in the first half as United went into the break with a 2-0 lead.

They then saw out the rest of the game to move ten points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
United went unbeaten at home between April 2010 and October 2011, before the run came to an end in spectacular fashion as they were thrashed 6-1 by rivals Man City.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag will be hoping United can maintain their superb record at Old Trafford when they host Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Their home games after the weekend then come against Leeds, Leicester and Barcelona. More

‘I’d have driven him there’ – Former England star stunned that Brighton rejected Arsenal’s £70m transfer bid for Caicedo

FORMER England star Danny Murphy has been left stunned that Brighton did not take the money Arsenal offered to sign Moises Caicedo. Caicedo was the subject of two massive bids of £60million and £70m from the Gunners in the January transfer window.

However, despite Caicedo openly pleading with the club to sanction the transfer, Brighton held firm.
Instead, the Seagulls banished Caicedo from training until the transfer deadline had passed, with Caicedo returning to training, as planned by the club, today.
But Liverpool icon Murphy believes Brighton were silly to not cash in while they had the chance.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Murphy said: “£70million for Caicedo? I’d have driven him there.

“I mean, he could do a cruciate next month.”
Despite being a regular starter for the South Coast outfit, Brighton did not need Caicedo to overcome the challenge of FA Cup champions Liverpool when the two sides clashed at the weekend.
Goals from Lewis Dunk and Kaoru Mitoma saw Brighton through to the fifth round of the tournament at the expense of Jurgen Klopp’s side.
In addition, Arsenal opted for the more shrewd purchase of out of favour Chelsea star Jorginho, who arrived on deadline day for £12m after Chelsea splashed a British transfer record of £107m on Enzo Fernandez.

Later on, Murphy argued the drama surrounding Caicedo could impact his performances on the pitch.
He added: “I’m sure he is [a good professional], i’m just saying there’s a possibility it will weigh on him.
“And the fact is £70m – he’s good, but that is more than a fair price.” More
