And after penning a £45million transfer to Eddie Howe’s high-flying Magpies, Gordon’s shirt number has now been revealed.
The 21-year-old will inherit shirt number eight, while fellow new signing Harrison Ashby will take up the number 30.
The number eight shirt became vacant after Jonjo Shelvey left to join Nottingham Forest.
The ex-Liverpool midfielder joined on a contract running to 2025.

Gordon’s transfer exit from struggling Everton came in far from ideal circumstances.
The 21-year-old refused to turn up to training for three days before his transfer to St James’ Park was agreed.

Gordon penned his Goodison farewell with a statement but was slammed by talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan.
He said: “Players going from Everton to Newcastle saying ‘I’m glad I’ve gone so I can give the club back £45million’.

Arsenal’s style of play is more suitable for him, Mudryk should have joined them and not Chelsea, says his ex-coach

MYKHAILO MUDRYK should have joined Arsenal and not Chelsea as the Gunners’ style of play would have suited him more, according to his ex-coach. Andres Carrasco oversaw the winger’s development when he was just an unknown teenager in Shakhtar Donetsk.
Youth coach Carrasco was in charge of Shakhtar’s U19 team between 2018 and 2019
Mudryk excited Blues fans with an impressive debut against LiverpoolCredit: Reuters
Only a few years later, Mudryk would become one of the world’s most coveted players before Chelsea swooped to sign the star for £88m.
They beat rivals Arsenal in the fight for his signature but Carrasco has admitted doubts over the outcome of the transfer saga.
While he thinks the result-driven culture at Chelsea could be beneficial for the 22-year-old, he also believes Mikel Arteta’s style of football would be better for Mudryk’s talents.
Carrasco told Ukrainian website Tribuna: “This is a club [Chelsea] that has been changing recently. But it is good for Mudryk to be in a club that always expects maximum results.
    READ MORE IN CHELSEA
“Now he needs to go through a period of adaptation. And only time will tell if it was the right decision for him or not.
“Today, Arsenal, with its style of play, could be more suitable for Mudryk, who successfully uses dribbling and plays one-on-one. It would be better for him, in my opinion.”
Arsenal had been tracking Mudryk for months before big-spending Chelsea hijacked the deal.
The Gunners instead turned to Leandro Trossard to beef up their attack as they look to keep Manchester City at bay in the Premier League title race.

Meanwhile Mudryk will instead have to look forward to dragging Chelsea up the table after joining a Blues side sat in 10th.
His debut came at Anfield last month where he impressed fans with a sizzling second-half appearance.
Graham Potter has been in charge for fewer than five months but has experienced plenty already while in the Stamford Bridge hot seat.
His reign began with a nine-game unbeaten run but then form dramatically collapsed following a calamitous return to former club Brighton.
Results continued to slide after the World Cup break but the record-breaking spending spree by Todd Boehly and the ownership has taken attention off the pitch.
World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez and exciting winger Noni Madueke were among the names eight names recruited in January.
Many of them could be in line for debuts against Fulham tonight. More

Tottenham vs Man City: Spurs host Haaland and Co without Conte on touchline in crucial clash – stream, TV, odds

TOTTENHAM have been haunted by the ghost of Manchester City for all of… well, two weeks.Just a fortnight ago, Spurs stormed to a shock 2-0 lead away to Pep Guardiola’s side.
Riyad Mahrez scored twice as Man City beat Spurs two weeks ago
But a remarkable second-half comeback saw City score FOUR times to run out 4-2 winners and leave Antonio Conte stunned.
City are still playing catch-up in the Premier League – five points adrift of leaders Arsenal, with the Gunners also having a game in hand to play.
Guardiola knows he risks giving up his crown to his former protege, Mikel Arteta.
A league title defeat would be all the more painful with City selling Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to the Gunners last summer.
So three points in North London is the order of the day – but Tottenham are still fighting tooth and nail to secure a top-four spot.
Spurs sit fifth, three points behind Manchester United – with the Red Devils having one game in hand, too.
So already Conte is approaching ‘must-win’ territory and while even a point against City would feel like a win, the Italian boss knows he can’t afford to watch his side drop too many more points.
Unfortunately for him, he’s likely to miss the game after undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder earlier this week.

The second-half of the season starts now with the transfer window slamming shut.
Man City brought in midfielder Maximo Perrone from Velez Sarsfield, but it was the departure of Joao Cancelo that was the real shock of their transfer dealings.
Tottenham, on the other hand, only strengthened their squad – bringing in Arnaut Danjuma and Pedro Porro after allowing a spate of squad players to leave.
So with plenty to play for, who will come out on top in North London?
    What is their form like?
    Tottenham: In a word: Mixed.
Spurs have progressed to the FA Cup fifth round with wins over Portsmouth and Preston.
And they’ve beaten Crystal Palace 4-0 ad high-flying Fulham 1-0 since the turn of the year.
But big losses against Man City and Arsenal have hurt them.

Man City: A frustrated start to the 2023 for Guardiola and Co.
The Etihad giants have also reached the fifth round of the FA Cup with wins over Arsenal and Chelsea.
Thumped Wolves and Spurs in the league but also lost to rivals Manchester United 2-1 to heavily dent their title hopes.
    What is the team news?
Tottenham: Richarlison, Lucas Moura and Pape Matar Sarr are all in contention for the match following recent injuries.
Pedro Porro could be thrown in at the deep end after his deadline day transfer and may start at right-wing-back.
Man City: Phil Foden and John Stones are doubts following injury.
Otherwise, it’s a fully-fit squad for Guardiola to choose from with Perrone the only new arrival – although he’s unlikely to start.
    Star men
Tottenham: Harry Kane. In a match of such magnitude, it simply has to be the England striker.
City are almost unstoppable in attack, so Spurs may have to fight fire with fire.
And what better way to do that than with Kane – the man most-likely to finally break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record.

Man City: Erling Haaland. Who else?
While Kane may be heir to Shearer’s throne, if Haaland stays in England long enough, he’s almost certain to go one better and shatter the all-time record.
Guardiola is able to rest Haaland from time to time thanks to Julian Alvarez’s superb form.
But make no mistake, the Norwegian ex-Borussia Dortmund star is the main man – and the one opponents fear most.
    What have the managers said?
Antonio Conte recently underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder and may miss the game.
The Italian has not spoken since his shock diagnosis on Wednesday.
But assistant Cristian Stellini said: “We don’t know yet when he is coming back.
“The surgery was good. He’s recovering well at home. We have two days before the game and anything can happen.
“The decision will be made tomorrow. We are ready to do everything and probably the doctor who did the surgery will have to decide for him. We have 48 hours to decide.
“I think nobody here can keep him calm.
“He’s an intelligent man. He knows what happened. The surgery is not the worst but it’s still surgery and he knows he has to be careful.”
Pep Guardiola revealed John Stones is absent for up to a month, but hinted Phil Foden could make the squad.
He also touched on the Kane vs Haaland battle, saying: “We’re extremely happy with Erling, I think Spurs are extremely happy with Kane.
“What an exceptional player Harry is and the quality of his goals. I think Kane proves that titles don’t mean anything. He remains one of the best strikers I’ve seen in my life.
“They’re happy to have him. We’re happy to have a young player like Erling, who will hopefully play for us for many years.”
    What are the odds?

    Tottenham – 7/2
    Draw – 31/10
    Man City 3/4

Casemiro and Son Heung-min feature in the best Dream Team XI of Game Week 20

JUST one Dream Team gaffer achieved three figures in Game Week 20.Simon Jebson earned 101 points (also known as a Dalmatian) thanks to an extensive array of Manchester United assets.
Let’s see take a closer look at how the Sheffield United fan topped the pile.
No fewer than eight Old Trafford residentsCredit: dream team
David de Gea (£3.9m) was the only one of the eight Red Devils present not to contribute as he missed out on what probably should have been a clean sheet at home to Reading in the FA Cup.
Tom Heaton was given the gloves for the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.
Lisandro Martinez (£4.6m), Luke Shaw (£3.9m) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£3.8m) combined for 21 points, all taken from Steve Cooper’s side in midweek.
Given that Man United are one of just three teams pulling double duty in Game Week 21, Simon could well be in for back-to-back bumper weeks.
Old Trafford hosted the most successful assets in Game Week 20
You would have got incredible odds on Casemiro (£3.8m) and Fred (£2.5m) combining for 42 points in a Game Week this term.
The Brazil internationals generally let their team-mates enjoy the attacking side of the game while they run the hard yards in midfield.
But that all changed this past week as the former Real Madrid favourite scored a brace against the Royals while Fred registered two goals and an assist across the two fixtures.

Impressively, Casemiro pocketed two Star Man awards to bank 25 points, his highest Game Week haul yet!
In comparison, Bruno Fernandes’ (£5.8m) eight points seem somehow underwhelming but an assist and a pair of 7+ match ratings continued his prosperous form.
Kevin De Bruyne (£7m) joined his cross-town rivals in Simon’s midfield but the brilliant Belgian blanked at home to Arsenal.
Manchester City’s playmaker-in-chief remains Dream Team’s top midfielder but a run of 15 points in his last seven games represents a notable drop-off from his usual high standards.
Spurs could really do with Son at his best in the coming monthsCredit: getty
Up front, Mohamed Salah (£8m) assisted Harvey Elliott’s (£2.6m) goal against Brighton but the Egyptian forward missed out on a 7+ match rating so he had to settle for just the two points.
Marcus Rashford (£5.8m) continued his fruitful spell with a ten-point haul despite the fact he failed to score – VAR saw to that.
Man United’s No10 received two 7+ ratings and provided a brace of assists to bank ten points.
Last but not least, a frankly inspired selection from Simon in the form of Son Heung-min (£5.1m).
The South Korean superstar has not been at his best this season but took full advantage of Tottenham’s FA Cup match-up with Preston, scoring twice to claim the Star Man award and an 18-point haul.

How Arsenal could line up at Everton as Mikel Arteta gives Thomas Partey injury update ahead of crunch Prem clash

ARSENAL are sweating over the fitness of Thomas Partey as they prepare to take on Everton tomorrow. The Premier League leaders are looking to move eight points clear at the top of the table with victory at Goodison Park.
Arsenal are hopeful Thomas Partey can start against Everton tomorrowCredit: Getty
But Mikel Arteta will be wary of a new manager bounce as Sean Dyche prepares for his first game since replacing Frank Lampard.
And the Spaniard has problems closer to home as question marks remain over the fitness of key midfielder Partey.
The Ghana star was forced at half-time with a rib injury during Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to title rivals Man City.
MRI results confirmed Partey had not suffered a serious setback, with Gunners insiders confident of an instant return to the XI.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
But the ace was not seen at training on Thursday, and Arteta admitted that Partey’s availability remains touch and go.
Arteta said: “Let’s see, that one is still a doubt. Let’s see today how he comes in and if he’s able to train with the team or not and we’ll make a decision on that.
“He’s not ruled out and it’s nothing very significant, but it was significant enough to get him out of the game, which for Thomas is a bit unusual.
“But hopefully he will be fine.”

Arsenal are unlikely to risk any changes if possible
If Partey is OK, he is extremely likely to continue in the heart of the side with Granit Xhaka.
But if he is ruled out, there will be an instant debut for deadline day signing Jorginho.
The former Chelsea vice-captain was snapped up for just £12million and will be desperate to make his mark on the field.
Aside from that doubt, it should be business as usual for Arsenal.
Aaron Ramsdale will continue in goal, with Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko in defence.
Mikel Arteta has plenty of options if he feels he can get away with rotating his side
As for the front four, Arteta is unlikely to stray from Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah.
But the Spaniard does have some cards up his sleeve should he feel the need to rotate against Everton, who are joint-bottom of the Premier League.
New January arrivals Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior would love to feature against the Toffees.
And there are also strong defensive options in Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney.
Elsewhere, the likes of Rob Holding and Fabio Vieira could end up making an impact from the bench.
    Read More on The Sun
But Arsenal are without injured quartet Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe, Mo Elneny and Reiss Nelson.
The Gunners also loaned out Marquinhos and Albert Sambi Lokonga on deadline day, which could see one or two youngsters secure spots on the bench. More

A number of the squad could be seen in their luxury cars as they headed home.
SunSport exclusively revealed Graham Potter took his under-performing stars to a military base last week in order to help boost team spirit and integrate the newest members of his squad.
However, given the flashy cars on display here it seems the training session in Cobham was a bit more run-of-the-mill.

He followed this up days later by making his debut in the Premier League against Newcastle.
