Man City ‘expect Pep Guardiola will QUIT before club are punished for over 100 financial rule breaches’

MANCHESTER CITY expect boss Pep Guardiola will have left the club before they are punished for over 100 financial rule breaches, according to reportsOn Monday, a bombshell announcement by the Premier League saw the champions be charged with financial offences into triple digits.

The charges relate to financial information regarding revenue, details of manager and player remuneration, Uefa regulations, profitability and sustainability and co-operation with Prem investigations.
Guardiola stated last May that if he had been lied to about the club’s financial dealings that he’s “be out”.
He said: “I said to them, ‘If you lie to me, I am not here. I will be out’.”
But according to The Athletic, there is already a growing expectation that Guardiola will not still be in charge by the time any potential sanctions are imposed on City.

An independent commission have been referred the matter with a number of sanctions possible, ranging from a points deduction to even expulsion.
Guardiola is said to have been one of the first to be told of the news before it was made public.
Later on Monday, the squad and other members of staff were addressed regarding the charges.
City have reportedly hired one of Boris Johnson’s “partygate” lawyers to help defend the club against charges from the Prem.

The Lawyer report that City are now drafting in the biggest names from the legal professional to help defend their case.
Respected lawyer Lord Pannick KC has been hired by the club as they look to clear their name.
He has previously advised Johnson over allegations that he partied in Downing Street during lockdown.
Lord Pannick is widely believed to be one of the best barristers of his generation and is now set to be involved in what will likely be an extraordinary legal battle.
It is also likely to be costly for the club as Lord Pannick could reportedly be paid £80,000 a day, or £400,000 a week, should the case come to trial and he was to be working full-time.
This wage would equal what star player Kevin De Bruyne is earning.
Lord Pannick is reported to typically charge around £5,000 an hour for his services and even at that wage he would be pocketing more than all but seven of City’s players.
Guardiola committed his future until the summer of 2025 late last year after signing a contract extension.
The former Barcelona coach was into the final seven months of his existing deal.
Guardiola’s City aren’t having the best of domestic campaigns.
The Carabao Cup final – a competition City have dominated in recent years – will be contested later this month between Newcastle and rivals Manchester United.

Ten Hag kicked off his presser with an apology and an explanation for his lateness.
He said: “I want to apologise [that] I am late.

Man City face over 100 allegations of financial breaches after a four year investigation by the Premier League.
The club said they were “surprised” by the action in a brief but defiant statement.
Punishments include expulsion from the Premier League, points deductions and the stripping of titles won during the period being investigated.
City are under investigation over the period between 2009 and 2018.
During that time the club won three Premier League titles, including one under current boss Pep Guardiola.
City could potentially face severe punishments after the Premier League’s investigation
He has previously threatened to quit as City manager if club chiefs had lied to him regarding alleged rule-breaking.
This is not the first time City have had to do battle in the courts with Uefa fining the club £25m and banning them from European competitions for two years in February 2020.
This regarded an alleged breach of financial fair play rules.
Five months later, that ban was overturned and the fine was cut to £9m by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. More

Barcelona’s financial issues left Messi with no choice but to leave the Nou Camp, leading to the star giving a teary press conference as he confirmed his departure.
PSG quickly emerged as the favourite – but other teams had been eyeing the Argentine.
Italian giants Inter were among the those clubs and even held talks with Messi. But Inter legend and club vice-president Javier Zanetti told DAZN that ultimately they could not compete with their European rivals.
He said: “I was surprised when he [Messi] left Barcelona.

Going into the 2022 World Cup knowing it was going to be his last chance to win football’s most coveted trophy, he was consistently brilliant and dragged Argentina into the final.
He was then the difference maker in a bonkers final as the South American side saw off France on penalties.

Top 10 best Premier League dribblers revealed proving Arsenal have second most terrifying attack

THE Premier League’s best dribblers have been revealed… and it proves Arsenal have the second most terrifying attack. And the figures produced a shock name as the No1 man in England.

Data gurus CIES Football Observatory have crunched the numbers – and provided a league table of the very best dribblers in the world.
Opta defines a dribble – also known as a take-on – as “an attempt by a player to beat an opponent when they have possession of the ball”, with a successful dribble seeing them keep hold of it.
Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele pips El Clasico rival Vinicius Junior to be crowned overall take-on king.
But third on the list, and the top Premier League player, is Kevin De Bruyne.

The Manchester City star, 31, gets a 98.4 rating from CIES which incredibly places him above the likes of Rafael Leao, Kingsley Coman and Kylian Mbappe.
De Bruyne has forged a reputation as one of the best players in the world – but more for his eye-of-the-needle passing and unmatched creativity rather than his ability to beat a man.
The next Premier League star on the list is Liverpool’s January signing Cody Gakpo, who comes in ninth overall.
He is immediately followed by another City star in Phil Foden and then Newcastle’s flamboyant flair ace Allan Saint-Maximin.

In fifth and sixth on the Premier League list are Arsenal duo Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners wingers have struck fear into countless full-backs this season and the CIES numbers reinforce their threat on opposite flanks for the league leaders.
Saka pips another Liverpool attacker in Luis Diaz while Tottenham wide man Ivan Perisic is eighth in England.
Completing the superstar list that will leave defenders quaking just reading it are none other than Mo Salah and Riyad Mahrez.
The pair have five Premier League titles between them – and have undoubtedly lost count of their dribbling victims over the years.
They are behind a bunch of high-profile ballers including Serge Gnabry, Lionel Messi, Rodrygo and veteran Luka Modric.

Napoli prepare for Osimhen transfer bidding war after Man Utd ‘tried to leapfrog Chelsea into pole position in January’

NAPOLI are reportedly bracing themselves for a fight to keep star striker Victor Osimhen. The striker, 24, scored twice in the Serie A leaders’ 3-0 win over Spezia on Sunday to continue his hot streak.

Here’s how he has performed so far this season
Napoli have surged 13 points clear at the top of the Italian top division and face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League last-16.
But they know they face losing Osimhen in a huge summer bidding war.

Manchester United and Chelsea are leading a host of European heavyweights ready to fight for him.
And, according to Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino, United have already made contact in an effort to get ahead in the race.

They report that United made contact with Napoli in January in order to get “in pole position” by striking a deal in winter.
It is unclear whether the nature of the deal was designed for a January move or a pre-emptive agreement for the summer, but Napoli turned down the move regardless.
Given their pursuit of a first title since 1990, it makes sense for them not to want to distract their star man ahead of the run in.
Osimhen has now scored 16 goals in 17 Serie A appearances, also adding four assists to the tally.

Il Mattino’s report suggests that Napoli have set a £133million price tag on his head.
It comes following another report which said United were eyeing a deal of £107m as they looked for an alternative to Harry Kane.
The England skipper refused to commit his future to Tottenham after breaking Jimmy Greaves’ goalscoring record for the club, though Spurs remain unwilling to lose their star man. More
