But the winger fails to hit the target when he strikes the ball on the volley.
    42. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Free-kick to Brentford on the right and Odegaard swings over the delivery but the visitors once again deal with it.
Just under three minutes until the break.

Brentford’s first attempt on target of the game and it almost brings the opening goal.
But Ramsdale palms Toney’s stinging effort away from danger.

    Half chance for Brentford.
Mee crosses and the ball is laid back to Jensen, but he can’t keep his effort down from the edge of the box.
    35. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Not much has happened since Toney struck the bar.
Arsenal continuing to knock the ball around but they’re lacking a creative spark.
Toney does brilliantly for Brentford as he wins his side a free-kick on the halfway line.

    31. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Chances are coming for Brentford as they go close once again.
Corner comes over and Mee’s header is goal-bound but his effort is blocked by Xhaka.
Meanwhile, we’re having a break in play as Martinelli receives treatment after getting a whack in the face.
    29. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
It’s very tight and congested in and around the Brentford box and Odegaard gives the ball away cheaply.
Up the other end, White does well to concede a corner when under pressure.
    24. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
    Best chance of the game.
Mbeumo gets in down the right and tees up Toney, who’s eight yards out but he strikes the bar.
Another huge left off for Arsenal.

    22. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Odegaard produces some tidy footwork down the right but his corner is blocked before Brentford finally clear the danger.
    19. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
The Gunners have enjoyed more than 75 per cent possession but they’ve so far done little with it.
Arsenal are really struggling to get Nketiah into the game and the home fans are growing slightly frustrated.

    17. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Arsenal work it well again, this time down the left, but Zinchenko’s cross is easy for Raya and he claims easily.
Brentford really struggling to offer much on the counter besides Henry’s chance.
    15. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Saka plays a one-two with Odegaard and is in the clear but his shot is easy for Raya in the end.
But he was under pressure from Rafa behind him.
    13. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Quiet phase in the game with Arsenal keeping the ball in the middle of the park for the majority of it.
Brentford have defended well so far.
    10. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Arsenal having to stay patient as they keep the ball nicely before Martinelli’s shot is blocked and Raya easily gathers.
Up the other end, Mbeumo has the ball in the net, but Peter Banks had already blown up for a foul earlier.
    8. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
The resulting corner falls nicely for Zinchenko, but it’s on his right foot and he drives it well over the bar.
    7. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Arsenal have seen loads of the ball but they’re yet to create a meaningful chance.
As a I say that, Odegaard plays a fine pass for Martinelli, but the angle is tight and Raya makes the save.

    5. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
What a chance for Brentford as Toney puts it across and Henry surely just has to turn it home from close range, but he somehow sends it wide.
    Massive let off for Arsenal.

    4. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Brentford hardly had a kick so far with Partey seeing plenty of the ball so far.
Odegaard has a shot blocked before Nketiah sends over a fine cross but Ajer is fouled by Xhaka and wins his side a free-kick.
    2. Arsenal 0-0 Brentford
Promising start from the home side with Saka and Nketiah both getting a touch of the ball in the early exchanges.

He suffered a nightmare debut for Chelsea as he was red carded at Fulham and was subsequently issued a three-match ban.
However, the Portuguese ace was back in Graham Potter’s line-up for Saturday’s lunchtime clash with the Hammers.
And he needed less than 20 minutes to make an impact.
Felix had already had one disallowed for offside when he pounced again in the 16th minute – and this time it stood.

Britain’s most-expensive footballer Enzo Fernandez whipped in an inch-perfect ball towards the back post.
And Felix crept in through the defence to volley it past Lucasz Fabianski to officially get up-and-running for Graham Potter’s side.
VAR was once again called in to verify the strike, but this time it was all good as the officials gave it the green light.
However, West Ham fans were fuming as they believed another Chelsea new boy – Mykhailo Mudryk – should have been penalised in the build-up.

The Ukrainian slid in on West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, and as the Hammers ace went to ground complaining, his supporters were disgusted not to see a foul given.
One fan wrote: “Mudryk fouls Bowen????? Lmaoooo how was that not checked.”
Another tweeted: “So no foul by Mudryk on Bowen in the build up then?”
While another fumed: “How’s that not a foul on Jarrod Bowen? Got ball but Mudryk studs were up…”
Fortunately for West Ham they were celebrating just moments later as David Moyes’ side drew level.
Vladimir Coufal whipped in a great cross that was flicked on by Bowen.
The ball bounced past Michail Antonio, but ex-Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri was on hand to poke it home at the far post.
Emerson initially refused to celebrate against his old club – before then performing two different celebrations to perplex supporters. More
