And fans were blown away by the pair’s impromptu “training session” at the Theatre of Dreams.

One of Britain’s richest men Sir Jim Ratcliffe and chairman of the Qatar Islamic Bank, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani, have both tabled offers.
Ratcliffe, who also owns French side Nice, is a boyhood Man Utd fan and made his money via chemical company INEOS.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Jassim has pledged to get rid of debts but would need to prove he is not linked to the Qatari owners of Paris Saint-Germain or the teams may not be able to play in the same European competitions.
Any deal that happens will be overseen by US bank Raine, who took control of the £2.5billion sale of Chelsea to Todd Boehly last May.

However, The Times has claimed that Raine has moved to “firmly remind bidders that the process is meant to be private” and warned them against making remarks that reflect badly on the Glazers.
The Qatar bid statement “is understood to have caused consternation among those running the process” as it promised to return United to its “former glories” and “implied criticism of the present owners”.
The Ineos bid then issued its own statement on Saturday which outlined their desire for “putting the Manchester back into Manchester United” and investing money to “make them the number one club in the world once again”.
Meanwhile, the Glazer family have reportedly been offered the financial backing to STAY at United by hedge fund company Elliott Management.

They have entered the takeover race and presented a way for the current owners to stay.
ESPN report that the US billionaire group do not want to buy Man Utd outright and their proposal is “possible financing, not a bid for the club.”
They would instead look to help finance United, which means they may help clear debts, or obtain part-ownership, or potentially both.

This would help the Glazers remain at Old Trafford as Elliott Management’s cash injection could also assist them do things like renovate Old Trafford.
Man Utd legend Gary Neville has outlined his fears the Glazers will remain as significant shareholders and Elliott Management could provide them with that exact opportunity.
Meanwhile, the Manchester United Supporters Trust has expressed their concern about a potential takeover from Qatar, saying: “There are questions about sporting integrity given the exceptionally close links between some bidders and the owners of other European clubs including PSG and Nice.
“We also note the importance that any owner respects the rights of all people, particularly women and the LGBTQ+ community.
“Concerns have been raised by other fans groups which we fully support. We urge all bidders to open a dialogue with fans groups alongside the bidding process with the club, in order to discuss their proposals including the above issues.” More

Fans convinced Man Utd boss Ten Hag was right to sell Ajax hothead as footage emerges of X-rated tunnel rant

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have praised manager Erik ten Hag’s coaching once more. But this time it had nothing to do with Ten Hag’s impressive work at Old Trafford, which has seen him win 13 out of his last 17 matches across all competitions.
Club Brugge ace Noa Lang was caught lashing out backstage
The United faithful sang the Dutch tacticians’ praises for his work at previous club Ajax once footage emerged of one of his former players lashing out backstage.
A clip has gone viral on Reddit showing ex-Ajax wonderkid Noa Lang storming through the tunnel dropping F bombs after his new team Club Brugge drew 2-2 at Cercle Brugge on Sunday.
Lang swore in English as he branded Club’s players “f*****g p*****s.”
The Everton and Leeds target also added his team-mate’s failure to win was happening “every f*****g week.”

Ten Hag proved he doesn’t put up with difficult characters when he axed five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo in November.
That was after Ronaldo’s explosive interview in which he admitted he doesn’t respect the Dutchman.
Ten Hag faced a similar issue with Lang’s attitude at Ajax, which led to the winger’s transfer to Brugge in 2020.
Fans were quick to point out that Ten Hag was vindicated after watching the footage of the Netherlands international fuming in Belgium.

One supporter posted: “That is the guy ETH dropped off for being a spoiled brat?”
Another wrote: “Such a bad personality. Got kicked out of Ajax after causing dressing room upset as well. This guy just can’t be coached.”
And a third said: “Yeah I don’t think any Ajax fan would really want him back despite him being a decent player.”
Eredivisie expert Marcel van der Kraan addressed Ten Hag’s issue with Lang in November after Ronaldo’s interview caused a stir.

The reporter claimed Ten Hag was so fed up he rejected Ajax’s initial offer of loaning the forward out and instead ordered them to sell him.
And so the 23-year-old was loaned out to Brugge with the obligation to buy in the summer of 2021.

Van der Kraan said: “He had a similar situation, but not quite, at Ajax.
“Noa Lang is a Dutch international who has just landed in Doha with the Dutch squad and had a bit of stardom around him, giving him a big mouth and seeking confrontations on the pitch.
“That was all visible. Most of the things here [with Ronaldo] have happened on the training ground or away from everybody apart from the incidents where Ronaldo walked away into the tunnel and left the team.

“When he clashed with Noa Lang, Ten Hag showed that he was really confrontational with him and also showed that he was prepared to forget it, work with him again until there was a moment in the winter break where they said, ‘We have to do something here’.
“Marc Overmars, who was the sporting director at the time, said, ‘Shall we put him out on loan?’ Do you know what the answer was from Erik? ‘No, sell him now.’” More

Could Marcus Rashford actually catch Erling Haaland at the top of Dream Team’s rankings?

PERHAPS we spoke too soon. The assumption here at Dream Team HQ was that Erling Haaland (£9m) would finish his first season in English football as Dream Team’s top points scorer.
With 32 goals to his name in all competitions and still over a third of the campaign to go, the Norwegian poacher has rapidly established himself as the new apex predator on these shores.
26 of his goals have come in the Premier League and given that his closest competitor, Harry Kane (£8m), is nine goals adrift it seems reasonable to assume the 2022/23 Golden Boot race is merely a formality.
In regards to Dream Team, however, Haaland should take note of the growing figure of Marcus Rashford (£6.4m) in his rear-view mirror.
    On a rampage!
Manchester United’s homegrown hero continued his scintillating form with two goals at home to Leicester to bank 13 points on Sunday, a day after Manchester City’s No9 blanked in what proved to be a frustrating afternoon at Nottingham Forest.
Haaland’s overall tally of 269 points remains massively imposing but where he once held a 100-point lead over his closest rival, Rashford is now just 42 shy on 227.
Under normal circumstances, a 42-point lead would be an extensive one – and it is – but the rate Rashford is catching up must be considered too.
City’s No9 has added 53 points to his total since the start of Game Week 16 (11 games) whereas his cross-town rival has amassed a whopping 127 points in the same time frame!
    Looking over his shoulderCredit: GETTY
Since returning from the World Cup, Rashford has scored 16 goals in 17 appearances, a run that also includes four assists and four Star Man awards.
    Most read in Dream Team
The England international may have even fired his side into the title race, with the Red Devils now three points behind their neighbours having played the same number of league games.
As inevitable as Haaland felt during the first half of the season, Rashford feels now.
Whether the 25-year-old is capable of becoming Dream Team’s top dog may depend on Thursday night’s game at Old Trafford.
If Erik ten Hag’s side can edge out Barcelona they will have a great chance of going deep in the Europa League, giving Rashford plenty of fixtures.
A celebration seen every week these daysCredit: GETTY
However, if La Liga’s leaders prevail then he may struggle to overhaul Haaland if the latter continues to prosper in Europe.
Pep Guardiola’s troops will fancy their chances of getting past RB Leipzig over two legs to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
When comparing two assets we would usually look at fixture difficulty as well but, truth be told, both in-form goalscorer are capable of achieving big hauls against any opponent this season.
What’s notable is that Haaland (74.4% ownership) is twice as popular Rashford (37.3%) – gaffers without the latter have missed out on a mountain of points over the last couple of months. More
