Man Utd transfer targets Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen head to head shows Ten Hag exactly who should replace Ronaldo

MANCHESTER UNITED will be in the market for a striker in the summer with the Old Trafford club yet to find a long-term successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.Five-time Champions League and Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, 38, left United late last year after having his contract ripped up.

United and Erik ten Hag plugged the gap in January with the loan signing of Wout Weghorst.
The Dutchman has played 14 times for the Red Devils scoring just once.
But he played a part in United’s Carabao Cup final win over Newcastle last month.
Whether his loan move from Burnley is made permanent in the summer is yet to be seen.

But SunSport exclusively revealed that Man Utd are plotting a summer move for Tottenham and England star Harry Kane.
In fact, United believe they will land Kane, 29, this summer — if Tottenham finish outside the top four.
Old Trafford chiefs reckon Spurs missing out on a Champions League place will see them lower their £100million asking price.
Another striker target is Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

But like Kane, the serial goal scorer is likely to cost a fortune especially with Napoli looking certain to win Serie A.
Premier League leaders Arsenal are also said to be leading the race to sign Osimhen.
Both Kane and Osimhen, 24, are two worthy successors to Ronaldo, but how do their stats compare?
    Harry Kane vs Victor Osimhen
Across all competitions since the 2021-22 season, Kane has played a considerable more amount of games.
In 86 appearances to Osimhen’s 58, Kane has scored 47 and assisted 14.
Osimhen, on the other hand, has 39 goals and five assists.
But the Napoli ace’s goals and assists per 90 are better than Kane’s at 0.91.
Osimhen’s shot conversion also has the edge over the England captain.
Here’s how Kane and Osimhen compare
Kane is, however, far superior in the playmaking department.
He has created 121 chances to Osimhen’s 46.
And he has had more touches inside the opposition penalty area.

But Ten Hag may be drawn towards Osimhen’s youth, with the Napoli ace five years Kane’s junior.
And with years of improvement ahead of him, Osimhen’s best is yet to come. More

Mourinho has another season remaining on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico and it would be a shock if he left.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss is happy at the Serie A side despite the offer, claim LaRoma24.
The Italian side are in the fight to qualify for next season’s Champions League, sitting fourth in Serie A and they also remain in the Europa League.
However, money is supposedly tight after a Financial Fair Play breach in 2020 and the club may have to offload players, which could make Mourinho unsettled.

West Ham are on the lookout for a new manager with pressure on Moyes ramping up after a 4-0 loss away at Brighton.
Fans have become disgruntled at a perceived negative style and a lack of results with a small section of supporters even chanting for the Scot’s sacking at the weekend.

Despite a summer outlay of over £100million, the side languish in 16th, just a point above the relegation zone.
The Irons reportedly plan to stick with Moyes but could want a new manager in charge next season.

I used to search rubbish dumps for trainers and sell water on the streets but am now set for dream transfer to Arsenal

VICTOR OSIMHEN used to sell water on the streets of Lagos but he is now one of the most in-demand strikers in the world. He has been prolific for Napoli this season with 19 goals in 21 games, helping his side build a 15-point lead at the top of Serie A.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from Manchester United but it is believed Arsenal are now leading the race for his signature.
For Osimhen it has been quite a journey to the top after losing his mother as a young child.
The striker revealed he and his siblings worked together to make ends meet after she passed away, as his dad also lost his job shortly after.
In 2019 he told France Football: “Where I grew up, people live on the other side of an open dump.

“I gave money to my brothers and sisters, and today, everyone is okay in their businesses. It makes me happy to know that they have enough to eat.
“They always help me and it is normal I want to change their lives.”
Osimhen, who also lost his father in 2020, recently shared his dream is to play in the Premier League, but Napoli will not let him go easily.
The Italian club will reportedly demand £133million for the Nigerian, with Chelsea also said to be in the running to sign the striker. More

Manchester United have more Dream Team centurions than any other club so far this season

AT this stage of the season, the 100 Club™ is a sociable place to hang out.And yet it’s still relatively exclusive club as just 30 players have registered 100+ points at the time of writing.
Here we’ve broken down 2022/23’s centurions by club for your perusal.
Before we get into it, it’s worth noting that Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Leeds, Leicester, Nottingham Forest, Southampton, West Ham and Wolves are all still waiting for their first player to breach three figures this term.
    ARSENAL

    Bukayo Saka (£5.1m) – 141 points
    Martin Odegaard (£3.6m) – 120 points
    Gabriel Martinelli (£3.7m) – 118 points
    Ben White (£4.4m) – 116 points
    Gabriel (£3.9m) – 113 points

Naturally, the league leaders are well represented in the 100 Club™ with five members at present – only one club has more at this stage.
Had Gabriel Jesus (£5.3m) not picked up an injury he would certainly be into three figures by now too as he raced to 88 after 14 Game Weeks.
Saka and Odegaard are the fourth and sixth best midfielders respectively this season.
The former needs just one more assist in the Premier League to reach double figures having already reached that landmark for goals – what a season he’s having.
    Most read in Dream Team
    BRENTFORD

    Ivan Toney (£5.8m) – 141 points

The Bees’ top scorer is flying the flag solo for his team and doing a mighty fine job.
A penalty specialist but so much more than that, only four forwards have more points than Toney right now which is a great effort considering he doesn’t have European commitments to bolster his schedule.
Obviously the threat of a long-term suspension looms over the 26-year-old but he’s proved to be a superb Dream Team performer when available since Brentford’s promotion to the top flight.
    CHELSEA
    Silva lining

    Thiago Silva (£5.7m) – 105 points

Doesn’t this just tell the story of the Blues’ season?
The veteran centre-back has been a class act and will be missed while he’s sidelined with injury until after the international break.
It may come as a surprise to some Dream Team gaffers to learn that only Newcastle have conceded fewer league goals than Graham Potter’s men – the problem is that Chelsea have scored the same amount of goals as 20th-placed Bournemouth.
    LIVERPOOL

    Mohamed Salah (£8.6m) – 211 points
    Darwin Nunez (£5.2m) – 125 points
    Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.2m) – 113 points
    Alisson (£3.8m) – 100 points

Like Chelsea, the Reds have performed below expectations this season but their top players have still pulled their weight in Dream Team.
Salah is one of only three double centurions having scored 21 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions – it says a lot about the standards the Egyptian has set for himself that he’s been subjected to criticism this campaign.
Nunez has notched 34 points in his last five outings having partially corrected his under performance in front of goal in recent weeks.
    MANCHESTER CITY
    Popular choices

    Erling Haaland (£9m) – 278 points
    Kevin De Bruyne (£7.6m) – 166 points
    Phil Foden (£4.9m) – 144 points
    Riyad Mahrez (£6.1m) – 131 points

The prolific Norwegian No9 is Dream Team’s leading points scorer and has been relentless since the get-go.
Haaland is nine goals clear of his closest rival for the Premier League Golden Boot and he’s averaging a goal every 68.4 minutes in the Champions League as well.
At this point it’s a tradition for Man City midfielders to be the best in their field in the world of Dream Team.
Collectively, De Bruyne and company have comprehensively outscored their rivals since Pep Guardiola took charge and 2022/23 is no different with Foden and Mahrez joining the Belgian in the top five midfielders.
Rodri (£3.8m), Ruben Dias (£5.7m) and Nathan Ake (£4.2m) are all in the nervous nineties so will probably become centurions before the end of the month.
    MANCHESTER UNITED

    Marcus Rashford (£6.5m) – 240 points
    Bruno Fernandes (£6m) – 162 points
    Luke Shaw (£4.1m) – 111 points
    Diogo Dalot (£3.9m) – 106 points
    Lisandro Martinez (£4.4m) – 104 points
    David de Gea (£3.9m) – 103 points
    Casemiro (£3.3m) – 103 points

The 7-0 thrashing at Anfield was a bitter pill to swallow but the broader picture still looks rosy for the Red Devils.
At the time of writing, no club boasts more centurions than Man United, who have representatives in every position.
For a long time it seemed a formality that Haaland would finish as Dream Team’s top points scorer but Rashford has been chipping away at the deficit since the post-World Cup restart.
Erik ten Hag’s side remain active in the FA Cup and the Europa League having already won the Carabao Cup – Dream Team gaffers will have learned from Liverpool last season that teams who go deep in all competitions are worth their weight in gold.
    You’re still thinking about the 7-0, aren’t you?Credit: GETTY
    NEWCASTLE

    Kieran Trippier (£6.3m) – 190 points
    Fabian Schar (£4m) – 126 points
    Nick Pope (£4.7m) – 121 points
    Dan Burn (£4.7m) – 110 points
    Sven Botman (£3.9m) – 101 points

A perfect illustration of the Magpies’ defensive superiority.
Pope and Trippier are the best assets in their respective positions with Eddie Howe’s side having conceded just 17 league goals – eight fewer than Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City.
At one stage, Newcastle’s first-choice back four were the leading quartet among defenders and while Arsenal and Man United assets have crashed the party in recent weeks, there’s no doubt they remain the standout unit in the context of the whole season.
    TOTTENHAM

    Harry Kane (£7.8m) – 179 points
    Son Heung-min (£5.1m) – 104 points
    Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (£3.6m) – 102 points

It’s something of a mystery how the South Korean superstar has mustered a century of points given he’s been under par for long spells this term.
    Read More on The Sun
The secret to Son’s tally is his ability to cash in against frail opposition when he has been in the mood – 64 of his points came in three games against Leicester (horribly out of form at the time), Frankfurt and Preston.
As for Kane, he’s Kane… what more can you say? More

AUSTRALIAN footballer Jackson Irvine was left stunned when he was recognised by Manchester United and Brazil star Casemiro. The pair bumped into each other backstage at the Fifa football awards.
Jackson Irvine was getting a picture with Real Madrid legend Casemiro – but things were about to get even better for the Australian
Irvine can barely hold back his excitement once Casemiro leaves
‘I see you’ Casemiro warmly tells Irvine after their picture
And while Irvine failed to take home any gongs, he might well have been the night’s biggest winner.
The 30-year-old, who appeared in all four of Australia’s World Cup games last year, arrived suited and booted at the ceremony as a member of FIFPRO’s Global Player Council.
Manchester United star Casemiro was there after being nominated for the World 11, an award voted by other players on football’s best performers.

The Socceroos, featuring Irvine in midfield, managed to get into the World Cup last-16 before being knocked out by Argentina

One of the Irvine’s friends then jokes that he has turned red in the face, to which he replies: “Mate, I’m sweating.”
Casemiro is among European football’s most recognisable characters after building a name for himself after nearly a decade at Real Madrid.

Arsenal star Reiss Nelson wanted by Brighton and Nice on free transfers with winger at ‘crossroads’ as deal runs down

ARSENAL forward Reiss Nelson is reportedly attracting interest from Brighton and Nice. The Gunners star, 23, scored a sensational stoppage-time winner for Mikel Arteta’s men on Saturday as they dramatically clinched a 3-2 win over Bournemouth.

Nelson’s crucial moment ensured Arsenal retain their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with 12 games remaining.
Yet despite a potentially season-defining moment, his contract is continuing to run down at the Emirates.
If Nelson does not pen a new deal, he will become a free agent in the summer.
And an exit from the club he has been with for 14 years looked more likely than ever when he was left out of the squad for the wins over Everton and Leicester.

According to CBS Sports, both Brighton and Ligue 1 side Nice are interested in signing him if he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.
However, injuries to Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus are set to give him a much-needed opportunity, so his future remains in the balance.
Speaking after Nelson’s goal on Saturday, Arteta said: “I always saw the potential, the talent and the desire for him to do it, but I think he’s at a different level right now.
“I think emotionally, the experiences he’s had has helped him.

“Football-wise, it was my decision not to put him in the squad in the last two games because we had other options.
“He’s knocking on the door. He’s been training really well and it’s a good lesson for me and the coaches that we need him and that he can really be important in the team.”
Nelson has contributed seven goals and seven assists in 56 appearances for the club.
And back in November he insisted he wants to stay in North London.
He told The Evening Standard: “I am an Arsenal fan and, of course, I want to sign a new contract at the club.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Milan are already “on the move” looking for Leao’s replacement.
The Portuguese forward wants to stay in Milan, but there has been no progress in negotiations for a new contract.
With the 23-year-old’s deal expiring in 2024, Milan could be forced into a sale – boosting Chelsea’s transfer hopes.
Consequently, the Rossoneri have identified potential replacements.

Saint-Maximin is joined on the list by Club Brugge’s Noa Lang.
Milan enquired about Saint-Maximin last summer, with the Frenchman revealing his frustrations over exit talk in an interview last month.
A hamstring injury at the end of August stunted a promising start to the season where he had scored once and assisted twice.
Since returning to fitness the 25-year-old has found starting opportunities limited, partly due to Eddie Howe using Joelinton at left wing.

However, he did start the Carabao Cup final and impressed against Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.
