However, Frank is still insistent that any interested clubs will have to pay top price for him.
When asked if Raya will stay at the club, Frank said: “I think we need to get into the Champions League and then he would consider it.

“I love David as a keeper. I really believe he is one of the best in the Premier League.
If someone wants to come and buy him, he is very expensive. He will be, for me, at least £40m-plus. No doubt about that.
“No matter what happens, we will be able to at least contact a replacement.

Bournemouth 1 Liverpool 0: Salah with horror penalty miss as Billing brings Reds crashing down after Man Utd mauling

The penalty would only have spared the club’s blushes after Philip Billing’s epic 28th-minute opener for Bournemouth.
The Reds would have gone into the game thinking they could have not claimed such an emphatic win against United at a better time.
And they must have been licking their lips at the idea of a trip to rock-bottom Bournemouth – who they thrashed 9-0 earlier in the season.
After all, we enter the business end of the season, Jurgen Klopp’s side were fifth but victory would have seen them leapfrog out-of-sorts Tottenham into fourth.
But write Bournemouth off at your own peril as they claimed only their sixth win of the season to haul themselves out of the drop zone.
And they smelt blood early on with Virgil van Dijk forcing Jefferson Lerma into a remarkable off-the-line clearance with a bullet header.
But Bournemouth hit back strongly with Dominic Solanke picking out Dango Ouattara who made a blistering run – although a heavy touch let him down and he could only lash into the side netting.
Liverpool had seen enough and Andy Robertson stung the hands of Neto with a fierce drive before Cody Gakpo volleyed in from close range but the flag was up straight away.

The Cherries survived the onslaught and proved that when given the chance to get comfortable on the ball they can hurt you.
The opener all began with Ouattara’s blistering run, before cutting back for Billing to tap in as the Reds shirked their defensive duties.
There was a quick VAR check for offside but the goal stood.
Van Dijk was then the culprit of a glaring miss with a header smack bang in front of goal from a free kick just before the break.
Tempers flared when he then morphed into a WWE wrestler by dragging Solanke to the floor.

Solanke had a chance up the other end and the red mist descended on fuming Jurgen Klopp who was blasting his players from the touchline.
Jurgen Klopp had seen enough of the first-half display and Diogo Jota came on for Harvey Elliott.
Jota was straight into the thick of things as he drove through the middle before curling a shot towards the far corner but Neto dived well to push it away.
Then on 65 minutes, Klopp turned to his golden oldies, with a triple substitution of James Milner for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson for Fabinho and Roberto Firmino for Darwin Nunez.

They added some instant oomph and it looked as though the Reds would be handed a lifeline.
There was a VAR check for a handball as the ball struck Adam Smith’s arm in the way of a Jota header.
John Brooks checked the monitor and pointed to the spot, leaving Cherries fans seething.
Up stepped Salah, Liverpool’s record goal-scorer on 129, to spare the club’s blushes against relegation-scrapping Bournemouth.

But jaws hit the deck when the Egyptian striker blazed his spot-kick well wide on 69 minutes.

This is how the MOTD studio appears to those watching on TV

And they show just how different the BBC1 show looks on TV once the special effects have been added.
Gary Lineker posted a selfie with Ian Wright from the green screen studio last weekend.
Many fans have held the impression that behind the MOTD crew are huge wraparound screens showing graphics and images.
But the truth is very different – as Lineker’s snap showed.

Much like weather presenters, all that stands behind them is a green screen.
Producers drop whatever image or images they want onto the screen.
Upon seeing the difference between reality and TV magic, one commented: “Green screen??? I’ve been living a lie all these years.”
A second tweeted: “Hang on. Green Screen? My world is falling down around me.”

The same person later added: “I’ve never felt so heartbroken.”
Another moaned: “Please don’t tell me this is true.”
And a fellow fan posted: “Even the floor’s a lie.”
Viewers will not have any studio punditry or interviews with players this week amid the backlash that has followed their decision to suspend Lineker.
The popular host, 62, was pulled from hosting duties this week following his tweet likening Suella Braverman’s language while unveiling the Government’s small boats plan to that of 1930s Germany.
Regular pundits Wright and Alan Shearer quickly followed suit – as well as the likes of Alex Scott, Micah Richards and Jermane Jenas.
Regular Match of the Day commentators then revealed that they would not be taking part in the programme either.
Fans may instead receive Premier League world feed commentary not usually heard in this country.

‘Shameful… absolutely disgraceful’ – Wigan fail to pay wages as fans slam club over statement

But off the field issues have grown and the club have confirmed that staff have delayed wage payments due to “liquidity issues”.
But fans have been left furious by the timing of the announcement, which was released just after midnight on a Friday.
The statement said: “Wigan Athletic can confirm that there has been a delay in meeting wage obligations.
“Whilst responding to media speculation is not typical of the Club’s standard approach, we would like to assure stakeholders that this is a temporary matter which is promptly being resolved.

“The Club has been disrupted by recent liquidity issues and this continues to be the case, hence the current situation.
“The Club wants to emphasise that the financial strength of our ownership group remains robust and they are committed to supporting the club.”
The statement adds that the EFL is aware of the situation and are making steps to ensure wages are paid promptly.
The statement and timing of it triggered a strong reaction from concerned Latics fans.

One said on Twitter: “Announcing this at 00:15 on a Friday evening is absolutely shameful.
“Questions need to be asked about the club’s ownership currently.”
Another said: “Absolutely disgraceful from the club this. Had a fans forum little over 48 hours ago where it could have been mentioned then.”
It’s been a tough season for supporters already with popular manager Leam Richardson sacked in October only weeks after being handed a new contract.
His replacement Kolo Toure was then sacked in January after failing to win any of his first nine games.
Former Celtic star Shaun Maloney has now been drafted in to try and save Wigan.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter reveals what he is doing ‘to help him relax’ after morale-boosting Champions League win

GRAHAM POTTER admitted a weight has been lifted following victory in the Champions League – and turned to Elton John in relaxation. Chelsea beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to progress into the quarter-finals, giving the club a much needed morale boost.

Potter was asked if he listens to any songs to help him relax under pressure and he responded: “I’m still standing.”
That is Sir Elton’s 1983 classic from his Too Low for Zero album.
Chelsea travel to Leicester off the back of victory over Leeds at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
But they remain in tenth, despite getting back to winning ways as Potter admitted a weight has been lifted with recent wins.

He said: “Yes, in some ways.
“It’s not something I get too bogged down with. I am the same as every Chelsea fan. It’s better if you win.
“It’s really difficult to just play a game of football at whatever level and just come home and everything is fine.

Chelsea are nine points off fourth-placed Tottenham and winning the Champions League could be their easiest route into next season’s competition.
But Potter is refusing to prioritise the club’s European campaign to their dwindling league hopes.
He said: “I understand the question, but I think it’s almost second guessing loads of things.
“You can tie yourself in knots and ultimately football is just keep it simple. Next match, try to win.”

Match of the Day will have NO interviews with Premier League players or managers after pulling Gary Lineker off air

MATCH OF THE DAY will NOT interview Premier League players or managers today. The BBC show is in turmoil after host Gary Lineker, 62, was suspended from the flagship show following his tweets criticising the Government’s new Illegal Migration Bill.

Pundits including Ian Wright and Alan Shearer refused to take part in tonight’s programme in solidarity with presenter Lineker, who was given the boot after refusing to apologise for his tweets comparing the Tories’ strategy to that of Nazi Germany.
That was followed by Steve Wilson confirming the boycott by the commentators while Mark Chapman and Alex Scott refused to step in as host, with the latter also pulling out of Football Focus which was cancelled.
Even a number of Premier League players are said to be keen to stand with Lineker, too, and would refuse to speak to Match of the Day.
And now the BBC report the Premier League have told the 12 clubs in action today that there will be NO requests for interviews by the programme.
    READ MORE ON GARY LINEKER
The League Managers’ Association and the Professional Footballers’ Association have also been informed.
It means the likes of Pep Guardiola, Graham Potter, Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte will be spared from speaking to the Beeb, although their other media commitments will remain in place.
The mass boycott has left the Beeb reeling, with the broadcaster confirming the highlights programme tonight would show match action but with no studio punditry.
And the lack of interviews from players and managers after the games will add a further strange twist to the show – with the clips usually shown straight after the highlights before Lineker and the two pundits dissect the matches.

As revealed by SunSport, the ex-England captain wept when he heard about his colleagues’ support to boycott Match of the Day.

A source said: “This has been a tumultuous 24 hours. Gary is in shock and had no idea this was coming. He wanted to go on air, make no bones about it, this was not his decision.
“Privately, everyone at the Beeb is in meltdown too. They genuinely don’t know how they will get a show out because no one wants to touch it.
“Everyone in the industry is appalled at how Gary has been hung out to dry, and the general BBC inconsistency.
“Gary wept when he found out his mates had all publicly backed him.
“The support has been overwhelming which, essentially, is a massive pie in the face for the BBC.
“Gary wasn’t willing to pretend to support something he vehemently doesn’t agree with.
“He doesn’t need the cash and, frankly, it seems hard to imagine a way back for either party from here.”

Fans piled in after the striker was snapped touching the ‘This is Anfield’ sign in the tunnel.
He looked set for more woe on Thursday, missing chance after chance against Real Betis — but finally netted United’s fourth in a 4-1 Europa League last-16 first-leg win.
It was just a second goal in 15 starts as he tries to fill the gap left by Cristiano Ronaldo.
But United manager Ten Hag said: “He has intelligence.  He is often in the right position then he fails — but he still keeps going.

“So he showed great personality and character, not only in this game.
“He could have got his goal early on but he keeps focused, keeps working, keeps putting himself in the right positions and finally he got his reward.”

But all the accolades were for performances before the March 5 Liverpool thrashing.

Thursday’s Betis victory saw the same Anfield line-up sent out to put things right.

“He scores with his right, with his left, with his head, he is creating with final passes.”
Fernandes, skipper in Harry Maguire’s absence, will lead the team out tomorrow as they host struggling Southampton — who Ten Hag sees as a threat.
He said: “At the bottom it’s close, they will do everything they can to collect points.” More
