Despite only arriving at St Mary’s six months ago the midfielder is already being linked with a move away.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has said United and Chelsea are leading the race for the 19-year-old’s signature.
Tavolieri adds that Manchester City remain in the race due to having a buy back clause inserted in the contract when they sold Lavia.
Chelsea are in the market as they search for a defensive midfielder which will allow Enzo Fernandez to operate higher up the pitch.

Despite heavy investment from owner Todd Boehly the Blues don’t have a holding midfielder amongst their ranks following the departure of Jorginho to rivals Arsenal.
Alongside Lavia, Graham Potter’s side have also been linked with moves for West Ham’s Declan Rice and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone.
For United the Southampton man doesn’t represent their first choice option.
Erik ten Hag wants to pursue a deal for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong who the Red Devils were heavily linked with last summer.

The Old Trafford outfit have also been linked with a summer move for Rice and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.
Lavia has made 18 appearances for Southampton this season, scoring once.
The Saints’ ability to keep hold of their star man would be severely weakened if the club were to get relegated.

Real Madrid ‘considering Romelu Lukaku transfer swoop with Inter Milan unwilling to buy Chelsea striker’

REAL MADRID are considering a move for Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku, according to reports. The 29-year-old Belgian is on loan from the Blues at Inter Milan following an unsuccessful return to Stamford Bridge last season.

However, having struggled with injury and form, the Italians have already insisted he WILL NOT be staying beyond the end of the season.
Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta said: “He will return to Chelsea as it’s a straight loan, it’s part of the deal — then we will see.
“Lukaku is not in good condition yet, we are still waiting to see the real Romelu as we saw in the past.”
That has thrown the striker’s future into doubt, with Chelsea wanting to cut their losses following his £97.5million transfer in August 2021.

And Real Madrid are set to take advantage of this situation by launching an offer for Romelu Lukaku.
According to Fichajes, Los Blancos want to bolster Karim Benzema’s firepower by adding Lukaku to the fold.
The report suggests Carlo Ancelotti and Co are admirers of Lukaku having seen how devastating he can be when he is not blighted by injuries.
Indeed, just two seasons ago Lukaku fired Milan to the Serie A title and was crowned their Player of the Year.

Lukaku has been heavily hit by injury this season, seeing him make just 18 appearances and yield five goals in all competitions.
He has been open with his desire to stay at Inter and his ultimate career path.
The former Manchester United and Everton striker said: “Everyone knows what I want.
“I hope to stay at Inter. I love this club and we will speak to Chelsea in order to find a solution.
Lukaku has struggled for form in the Serie A this season
“Inter fans are really special, for me they are the best in the world.
“Because even if we are in difficulty they are always there to help the team.
“It was a surprise for me, I thought they were angry with me.
“But in the end they know I’ve always had Inter in my heart. Even if I left, they know I’ve always had Inter in my heart.
“I’ve had conversations with my team-mates, with people from the club and they know I’ve told the truth about why I left.

Five managers who could replace Vieira at Crystal Palace with Hodgson shock favourite ahead of Lampard and Gerrard

PATRICK VIEIRA was sacked as Crystal Palace manager this morning. The Frenchman, 46, lost his job after a dismal run of just one win in 14 Premier League matches.

His final match in charge was Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat away at arch-rivals Brighton.
The horror set of results has left the Eagles sliding at an alarming rate into the relegation dogfight.
The South Londoners sit 12th in the Premier League but just three points clear of the drop zone.
But who is in line to replace Vieira with the task of keeping Palace up?

    ROY HODGSON
Incredibly Roy Hodgson has emerged as one of the early favourites for a shock return to Selhurst Park.

The 75-year-old appeared to have retired for good when he left Watford at the end of last season.
Former Eagles academy defender Hodgson had four years in the Palace dugout and may make a stunning comeback to help keep his beloved club in the top flight.
    FRANK LAMPARD
Frank Lampard, 44, is out of work having been dismissed in January less than a year after taking over at Everton.

The former Derby and Chelsea chief was axed because the Toffees were showing no signs of staying up.
However, he has proven he can work with young talented players – which Palace have in abundance.
    STEVEN GERRARD
Steven Gerrard is in a similar position to his former England team-mate Lampard.
The ex-Liverpool captain, 42, finds himself as a free agent following his struggles at Aston Villa, unable to replicate the success he enjoyed at Rangers.
But there will be serious question marks over his experience and if he has the ability to survive a relegation scrap – after all, Lamps and Gerrard were both overlooked by Southampton.

    RAFA BENITEZ
Like Hodgson, Benitez certainly boasts plenty of games under his belt – 1,171 to be precise.
The last of those came in January 2022 before his Everton sacking when he was replaced by Lampard.
The 2005 Champions League winner, 62, clearly knows how to pull off a dramatic turnaround, but will the ex-Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Chelsea boss fancy the Palace challenge?

    MICHAEL CARRICK
The only one of these five currently in work is Michael Carrick – and what a job he is doing.
In his first managerial gig, the ex-Manchester United star, 41, has won 15 of his 22 matches to help fire Middlesbrough into the promotion race in the Championship.
Carrick’s side sit third, six points off the automatic spots – but Palace may have seen enough to give the former midfielder an early promotion to the Premier League.

Inside Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace sacking with issues behind the scenes after controversial Shaun Derry axing

CRYSTAL PALACE have not only taken a gamble on their Premier League survival by sacking Patrick Vieira, but junked a long-term plan to hit new heights as a club.Vieira reached an FA Cup semi-final and transformed the style of play at Selhurst Park to great acclaim in his first season but has struggled this term and has been axed after 12 games without a win in all competitions.

Crystal Palace are still waiting for their first win of 2023Credit: AFP
The Eagles invested in youth and gave Vieira the sort of platform and funding that predecessor Roy Hodgson never had to spark a new era in south London.
While form has taken a turn for the worse this year, the Eagles have pulled the trigger at the first sign of trouble – something not often expected from chairman Steve Parish.
Palace have not won a single game in 2023, they have the fewest wins of any Premier League club this calendar year, along with the fewest points (five) and goals (four).
The desperate run, which continued with a drab 1-0 defeat at rivals Brighton on Wednesday night, has left them three points above the relegation place and drawn into a battle they looked well clear of during the World Cup break.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Despite the recent run and precarious situation, the dismissal still feels harsh.
Their recent games have been hard to watch at times, with forward players looking short on confidence and a clear plan.
But that winless Premier League run has seen Palace exclusively face teams above them in the table, with a number of narrow losses and draws.
Following a visit to his former club Arsenal this weekend, Vieira had been looking forward to an international break to get to grips with the squad and a run of far kinder fixtures to the end of the season.

Palace have relied on Wilfried Zaha for goals
Such has been the drop off in performance of recent weeks that Parish and the other Palace board members may feel that the time over the break is better spent with a new manager and fresh ideas.
There have also been issues rumbling behind the scenes in south London meaning it may not just have been the football which informed this big call.
Players and figures higher up at the club were not pleased with Vieira’s unilateral decision to sack former Palace player and coach Shaun Derry in January.
Vieira made the decision after feeling Derry had overstepped his role by addressing players after defeats, but while the manager axed his coach the club left the former Eagles captain on gardening leave rather than end his contract.
Such bold calls and a failure to adapt his tactics during this dismal run have hurt Vieira, who had brought such life to a squad and club who had grown tired of simply surviving under Hodgson – whose work now looks all the more impressive given Palace’s lack of progress.
But the Frenchman had hardly been helped by circumstances and recruitment this season.
The summer Vieira arrived was a huge success for Palace’s recruitment team.
Joachim Andersen, Marc Guehi, Michael Olise and Conor Gallagher were remarkable acquisitions, but that has not been followed up.
Everyone at Selhurst Park pushed to bring Gallagher, last term’s player of the season, back from Chelsea last summer but knew it would be a big task.
Palace have key games coming up
There was no credible replacement lined up and the Eagles have suffered without his energy, meanwhile the need for a Premier League quality striker and investment at right-back – driven by Vieira – was not addressed in the summer or January.
Signing a striker capable of offering what Premier League clubs need is a difficult business, but one clubs must manage if they are to succeed.
Things were looking difficult from the off this season when, thanks to a number of players not being vaccinated, Vieira could only take a handful of senior players on their tour to Australia.
    Read More on The Sun
It has all served to undermine what looked to be a well planned route to a brighter future, a journey that has now been cast aside and hangs on one managerial appointment.
The struggles of fellow relegation battlers Southampton and Leeds in appointing new managers will only increase the pressure on Palace to get this right. More

The former Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham star has worked wonders with his Championship side after taking over from Chris Wilder in October.
Boro are third in the table, just six points behind second-place Sheffield United.

Donny van de Beek would be a suitable candidate to line up in midfield should he finally overcome his injury problems.
The Dutchman is unlikely to remain at Old Trafford.
And he could jump at the chance of restarting his Premier League career in south-east London.
Elsewhere, Antony Elanga could be the ideal replacement on the left wing for Zaha.
