      MANCHESTER UNITED and Tottenham have been handed a boost in their attempts to sign David Raya.The shot-stopper, 27, has become one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in the Premier League after his impressive displays for Brentford.

      The Spanish international is keen on a challenge after turning down two contract offers to stay with the Bees.
      His current deal expires at the end of next season, and the club are now lining up a move for his potential replacement, Dutch international keeper Mark Flekken, according to reports.
      The Freiburg star has had an outstanding campaign, helping the Black Forest minnows go fourth in Germany’s Bundesliga.
      Flekken, 28, has won four caps since making his senior Holland debut last year.

      He built his career with lower-league German clubs Alemannia Aachen, Greuther Furth and MSV Duisburg before Freiburg signed him in 2018.
      They want to offer the Enschede-born keeper a new deal, with a release clause higher than the £11.44million in his existing contract.
      Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach said: “We don’t want to leave things until May.
      “We want to clarify Mark’s situation so we can make definite plans.”

      The pair appeared on the Match of the Day podcast, hosted by Gary Lineker, and were asked to name their top ten pundits, including themselves.
      Former Manchester City man Richards, 34, kicked things off, putting Jimmy Hill tenth, himself ninth, Rio Ferdinand eighth, Alan Hansen seventh and Graeme Souness sixth.
      Realising that he was high up on Richards’ list, a stunned Shearer joked: “I’m feeling guilty now.”
      Lineker then asked Toon icon Shearer to give his own list, and he hilariously started by saying: “Micah, ten.”

      Shearer putting Richards rock bottom of his list caused the trio to burst out laughing.
      Lineker went one further and joked: “I wouldn’t have put you ten. I would not have put you ten Micah.
      “I wouldn’t done that to you Micah… I wouldn’t have had you in the list.”
      Shearer then put Manchester United icon Roy Keane ninth on his list.

      Richards accused Shearer of favouring his BBC colleagues, joking: “All the BBC are number one to five, aren’t they? I know what you’re doing here!”
      Lineker hit back hilariously by saying to Richards: “No they’re not, you’re ten!”
      In an effort to get his own back at Shearer, Richards relegated the BBC man to fifth on his list after originally having him in second.
      Richards had Sky colleagues Carragher, Gary Neville and Keane as his top three pundits.
      Meanwhile Shearer named Match of the Day pal Ian Wright as his No1, with Souness second and Neville third.

      ROMAN ABRAMOVICH “secretly bankrolled a club once branded ‘Chelsea’s B team'”, according to reports.The Guardian and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism claim the Russian pumped £103million into Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem during his time as Chelsea owner.

      The paper alleges that leaked documents from MeritServus, dubbed the ‘Oligarch files’, appear to show Abramovich helped fund Merab Jordania’s 2010 takeover of Vitesse via numerous entities in offshore tax havens.
      It comes after two investigations by the Dutch FA concluded Abramovich had no managerial influence on Vitesse after failing to find any financial ties.
      Both Chelsea and Vitesse’s former ownerships repeatedly denied Abramovich’s involvement in funding the Dutch side.
      The Eredivisie club boosted the careers of several current Chelsea stars including Mason Mount and Armando Broja.

      Former players like Nemanja Matic and Dominic Solanke also cut their teeth there.
      But Vitesse is now reportedly on the brink of collapse over a stadium dispute.
      Dutch outlet Gelderlander claims the club faces having its pro licence withdrawn after they cancelled the lease on their ground.
      The GelreDome has been at the centre of a row since 2018 as Vitesse objected to annual rent of £1.6m – they had to pay to landlord Michael van de Kuit.

      The club wanted the fee to be reduced by De Kuit was reportedly not in favour of the move.
      The stadium lease is officially up at the end of September, giving Vitesse an immediately problem.
      They currently would not meet the license requirements for next season.
      And the report states that the Dutch FA has threatened to withdraw Vitesse’s professional license if there is no clarity on the situation by April 11.
      It would be quite an abrupt chapter in the club’s 131-year history.
      They are managed by former Derby boss Phillip Cocu and have been playing at the GelreDome since 1998.

      The French international is also ‘liked’ by Newcastle’s head of recruitment Steve Nickson.
      The report also suggests that Thuram is a more realistic option to West Ham’s Declan Rice, who the club would “love”, but would be to expensive.
      Thuram has impressed in Ligue 1 this season having scored twice and assisted four goals in his 28 league appearances from the midfield.

      Earlier this month the Red Devils boss complained about the injuries his squad have suffered, claiming he has only had his entire roster available for selection on one occasion.
      Ten Hag suggested Arsenal have had their squad available almost all of the time, but Sutton feels that assessment is not accurate.
      Sutton told BettingSites: “That could well be a bit of sour grapes maybe from Ten Hag.
