I went a whole season without speaking to Roy Keane at Man Utd after blazing row in Marbella… it was just weird

ROY KEANE and Gary Pallister once went a whole season without talking to each other while at Manchester United. The pair won four Premier League titles together at United before falling out before Pallister’s final season at the club.

The former defender revealed he and Keane stopped talking following an incident during a pre-season tour of Marbella.
And although they would still shake hands before games, both players were too stubborn to apologise first.
Pallister recalled the fallout while speaking to AceOdds via the Daily Star, saying: “We had a fallout in a pre-season tour. We were both stubborn enough.
“It was funny because we’d shake hands before a game and sort of laugh, but neither of us would break the ice. So we went through the whole season being like that.

“And then it was actually the year I left. I came back to get my stuff out of the Cliff, my boots and trainers and things like that. And he was walking down the corridor into the home dressing room when I was walking out.
“We start walking into each other and we both started laughing and he put his hands out and shook my hand and he just wished us all the best at Middlesbrough, and that’s how the ice was broke.
“I mean, we’re fine now, but it was just weird. Neither of us would sort of be the first one to offer the hand up and say, right, let’s be mates.
“Just stubbornness on both of our behalf, really, I think. But that’s how it all panned out in the end.”

Keane also spoke about the argument during an appearance on The Overlap.
He said: “I had a fight with Pally [Gary Pallister] in Marbella, and I was with Pally a few weeks ago, great guy!
“I vaguely remember [Sir] Bobby Charlton opening the door and seeing me and him; I bet he was thinking f***ing hell! But I think we won the league that year, so it helped.” More

He won every domestic trophy available during his time in North London, including two Premier League titles, a League Cup and four FA Cups.
And during that same period he also established himself as England’s No1.
But after retiring from professional football in 2004, Seaman was keen to take a step away from the beautiful game.
Although he made the odd media appearance after hanging up his boots, the Arsenal icon spent most of his free time either playing golf or fishing.

Seaman became an ambassador for Fishing Republic’s partnership with Shakespeare Fishing and the Angling Trust earlier this week.
And he has since expressed his desire to help kids into the sport.
He told The Mirror: “It’s massively important because we want to get kids into fishing, even today the smile on their faces says it all.

I won the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson and see one thing Ten Hag has copied from him to turn around Man Utd

MARK HUGHES believes Erik ten Hag is copying one key aspect of Sir Alex Ferguson’s managerial approach to help turn Manchester United around. The Dutchman took over at Old Trafford in the summer and, after a nightmare start, is helping transform the club.

United ended their six-year wait for a trophy by winning the League Cup in February and still have ambitions of winning the Europa League and FA Cup.
And there is growing hope that Ten Hag can take United back to the top of the English game again and compete for Premier League titles once more.
Ferguson led the club to a staggering 13 league crowns during his 26 years at the helm, often putting his no-nonsense approach into action with the infamous hairdryer treatment.
The first two of those, in 1993 and 1994, he had Welsh star Hughes in his team.

Now the Bradford manager is beginning to see small glimpses of Fergie’s success in the current Red Devils gaffer.
Hughes, 59, told the Mirror: “Erik ten Hag has come in and steadied the boat that was rocking from side to side.
“He’s going to need to have time and he’s done the initial part of dealing with the demand that was on him as the manager of the club, stabilising everything.
“He looks like he’s instilled discipline into the group and the club as whole.

“Playing under Sir Alex Ferguson, his standards for discipline and behaviour were strong, it was one of his mantras.
“It looks like Ten Hag has taken a little bit of that on board and it seems like he is a very straightforward and structured guy who just tells you as it is.
“Players can respond to that and maybe there were a few that were wavering or going on a different tangent – he’s managed to bring everyone together, which was required.
“I hope Manchester United sticks with Erik ten Hag.”
Ten Hag wasted no time in disciplining his players, joining them for 13km of extra running after the 4-0 humbling at Brentford.
Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Cristiano Ronaldo twice all received personal punishments from Ten Hag for various misdemeanours, including oversleeping, refusing to come on and that bombshell Piers Morgan interview.
And he has not been afraid to call out his players when required, including after the “unacceptable” 7-0 defeat at Liverpool.

Man Utd ‘hope to pinch Chelsea star Joao Felix in summer transfer steal with no buy clause in Blues loan deal’

MANCHESTER UNITED hope to steal Joao Felix away from Chelsea in the summer. The striker joined the Blues on loan in January but it is believed they are seeking a permanent move.

However Chelsea did not include a clause in the deal to make the move permanent, so other clubs can make an approach.
United have been linked to Felix for some time and are monitoring his current situation, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Erik ten Hag is reportedly prioritising a move for a striker when the summer transfer window re-opens.
And it is believed Felix could be available for £88million, though the Red Devils are hopeful of a more “favourable deal”.

However the Portugal international reportedly wants to stay at Chelsea, though he refused to be drawn in to speculation about his future.
Felix, 23, told the LondonBluePod: “For now I’m on loan at Chelsea, so I don’t know the future yet, but I’m here and I see that it’s a big club with a big project.
“I know that Chelsea is a great European team, I feel it and I can see it.”
It is possible Felix could stay at Atletico, with club captain Koke ready to welcome him back into the squad.

He said of the striker’s future: “They were important players within the team. They made the decision to leave.
“Joao transferred and Cunha transferred. They are decisions of each one.
“Totally respectable. Joao is picking up the rhythm of the games, he is gaining confidence for the coming season to come back here.
“And to Cunha, I wish him all the best.” More

Graham Potter will NOT be sacked by Chelsea with boss set to lead Blues for Liverpool despite fans calling for his head

GRAHAM POTTER will not be sacked by Chelsea just yet and looks set to lead the Blues against Liverpool on Tuesday. That is despite growing calls for the manager to get his marching orders.
Graham Potter will address the media ahead of Chelsea’s clash with LiverpoolCredit: Getty
Potter saw his side slump to a tenth Premier League defeat of the season as they went down 2-0 at home to Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
That took Chelsea’s dire record in the league to just three wins in their last 13 since the turn of the year.
And unsurprisingly, a rising number of Blues supporters want to see the under-fire ex-Brighton chief relieved of his duties – especially with Julian Nagelsmann now available.
A petition for his dismissal launched back in February has thousands of signatures.

But Chelsea wasted no time in reassuring Potter there are no immediate plans to axe him.
A media email circulated at 8.32am on Sunday – just 13 hours after full-time in the Villa loss – confirmed Potter will take the pre-match Liverpool press conference at the Cobham training ground on Monday lunchtime.
Todd Boehly and his Chelsea board have demonstrated incredible patience and appear content to stick with Potter.
The Stamford Bridge hierarchy recognise the gaffer joined the club during the season and, with lots of new players, it will take time for him to get the best out of the squad.

Boehly and the directors also appreciate the Potter project is a long-term vision and therefore are committed to giving him that time to craft and shape the team as he wants.
That is what he did so successfully at Brighton while Mikel Arteta has reaped the rewards of being trusted through a difficult patch at Arsenal.

Speaking after the latest poor result, Potter said: “After a defeat there is always a disappointment and a feeling we have not moved forward.
“Defensively we’ve left ourselves too open but again if you look at the stats of the game we had chances ourselves but the most important thing, putting the ball into the net, we were second-best.
“I don’t like to blame anybody, I have to take responsibility. We are a team, we have to stay together, we are together. We win or lose together.
“We will recover and we will prepare for the next game. We need to respond, that’s clear. But we look forward to it.”
That next game sees fellow strugglers Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge for an 8pm kick-off on Tuesday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are reeling from their 4-1 dismantling by Manchester City which could prove a hammer blow to their top-four qualification hopes.

Havertz told an anecdote of when he was getting carried away when he was 17 and “maybe (acting) a bit too cool”.
He bought a “fancy rucksack” but it did not make him feel comfortable.
The German told The Guardian: “It was white with gold, flash, but I just thought: ‘It’s not me.’ I couldn’t take myself seriously.
“I spoke to my parents about this. If I changed they would say: ‘Kai, it’s not you, just stop it.’”

“There are players who don’t care but others do. It’s not always about saying: ‘I did this.’
“That’s sometimes a bit fake. I’ve met different characters. Toni Kroos is one, calm, down to earth, doesn’t care about flashy stuff.
The Chelsea star also hailed N’Golo Kante for being a ‘good’ personCredit: Getty
“He knows life is not only football. N’Golo Kante is another.
“He’s had the same phone for ten years, doesn’t care about cars, doesn’t care about clothes.
“You cannot judge people because of [spending]. If that makes them happy, I don’t care.
“Maybe in their heart, they are also good people, they just want to act cool. Sometimes maybe it’s kind of a protection.”
The former Bayer Leverkusen star has also been giving back as he has launched the Kai Havertz Stiftung charity which has the goal of helping people and animals.
He added: “Over the last few years I’ve realised I can give something back. It was clear to me. It should be clear to everyone.
