Chelsea fans in ‘pain’ at Thomas Tuchel ‘rubbing salt in wound’ after impressive reaction to Bayern’s win vs Dortmund

CHELSEA fans are reacting to Thomas Tuchel’s post match interview after his Bayern Munich side thumped Borussia Dortmund 4-2.Blues’s fans have been comparing their old manager’s comments with those of their current boss Graham Potter.
Graham Potter has lost the support of a lot of Chelsea fans as a result of their poor form
The Bavarians ran riot over their title rivals to go top of the table.
The result came after Chelsea’s 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa, meaning they now sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Tuchel took to the media post-game demanding more of his side, despite their superb result.
He said: “After going 4-0 up, I would have wished for more dominance and fewer mistakes. We lost the ball too many times.

“We could have scored more. The two goals we conceded are annoying – there’s still room for improvement. That applies to everyone”
Chelsea fans couldn’t help but take to social media to let it be known they weren’t happy with the Bayern manager’s comments.
One said: “I wish he had stayed unemployed a little longer, stuff like this is just rubbing salt in the wound”
    Another simply said: “Pain.”

Others felt that Tuchel’s comments highlighted Potter’s shortcomings as Chelsea boss.
One fan made a harsh comparison between the two managers.
They said: “Potter says losing 2-0 at home to a vastly inferior side is ‘a result we must accept, the lads gave everything’. Elite v Substitute Gym teacher.”
Chelsea are now 11th in the league and have only 38 points.
The weekends results confirm they can no longer mathematically finish above London rivals, Arsenal, despite still having ten games to play. More

He kicked off his campaign with a debut goal against Reims and his incredible form continued throughout the following weeks.
But, he recently hit a stumbling block after clashing with Marseille manager Igor Tudor.
In an interview with French outlet L’Equipe, the Croatian boss revealed that Tavares was sent back to the changing rooms on one occasion in training because he “was not making necessary efforts”.
He also admitted that wing-back Jonathan Clauss was singled out for the same reason.

He said: “In my football, there is a feature, you have to run.
“And if you don’t… If I see one player that doesn’t run in training, I’ll say it once, twice and then on the third time of asking, I’ll intervene.
“During the hour or so of training, I am demanding, the players have understood it.
“But if they want rest days, I can give them some too. And we can joke or laugh, but work is work.”

Despite the brief dispute between Tavares and Tudor, the Marseille boss still believes that the full-back has the potential to play for one of the best clubs in Europe.
Earlier this week, he declared: “Nuno’s still a young player but he has fantastic physical capabilities. He’s got an outstanding ability to run.
“He could play at Real, at Barcelona, at Man City… he still needs to grow and progress, we talk a lot to him.”
Tavares could be one of several Arsenal players set to leave North London this summer.
He previously hinted that he would like to stay at Marseille rather than return to Arsenal. More

    Fernandes not happy
38:’ A goal kick is given when it looked like it should’ve been a United corner, leaving Fernandes perplexed to say the least.
    Decent chance for Isak
35′: Some direct running from Murphy opened up a chance for Isak, but Varane is out quickly to block.
    United swap wings
29′: After getting no joy where they started, Rashford and Antony have swapped sides to try and get United going.
    Murphy fires over
25′: Some nice play on the edge of the box opens up a chance for Murphy, but it flies way over.
    Chance for Dalot
34′: Dalot snuck in behind to get on the end of a cross, but seemed to get caught in two minds and ended up messing up his attempt.
    Antony struggling
23′: The crowd have been on Antony’s back since the start, and he doesn’t appear to be enjoying his afternoon up against Dan Burn so far.
    Longstaff has another chance
19′: He would have been offside, but Longstaff heads a Saint-Maximin cross wide.
    Newcastle on top here.
    What a save De Gea!
17′: How is that not 1-0?
Murphy’s cross is met by Isak, who is denied by De Gea at first.
The ball falls back to Willock, but he’s also denied by a fine reaction stop.
Noise building at St. James’ Park
13′: A lovely nutmeg from Guimaraes gets the crowd excited, but he is caught out on the ball which presents a chance for Weghorst.
The Dutchman can only fire into the side netting.
United looking for Rashford in behind
10′: The ball in behind for the in-form man is certainly top of the menu for United so far today.
Nothing too threatening has come as of yet for the Englishman.
    Huge chance for Longstaff!
A cross to the back post is kept alive by Isak, who finds Longstaff six yards out.
He gets his left footed shot wrong though, and can’t find anyone for a rebound.
    Big chance for Newcastle.
De Gea looking shaky with his feet
6′: Kicking has never been De Gea’s strong point, and that has already come to the surface today as a number of first time clearances have gone astray.
    Early corner for Newcastle
3′: Despite Fernandes’ complaints, the hosts win an early corner which is dealt with well.
    And we’re off!
United get us underway. Manchester that is.
    Here come the teams!
Kieran Trippier and Bruno Fernandes lead out their respective sides for the penultimate game of the weekend in the Premier League!
    Ten minutes to go
The atmosphere is building nicely inside St. James’ Park, a real big game feel has returned to this famous stadium.
    Ten Hag trusts Weghorst
Erik ten Hag recently praised the impact of Wout Weghorst, claiming he could see him at the club long term.

    McTominay’s time to impress
With Casemiro suspended, Scott McTominay has a massive chance to show he can still contribute as a Manchester United player.
Maybe a recreation of his performance against Spain would go a long way…

    Battle at the bottom
There’s only a few minutes left of today’s early game at the London Stadium, where West Ham lead Southampton 1-0 in a crucial clash.
You can follow The Sun’s coverage here:
    Familiar foes
It wasn’t long ago that these two were going at it for the first trophy of the season in the Carabao Cup final.
Goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford were the difference back on that day.

    Martial makes the bench
Anthony Martial is only fit enough for the bench this afternoon, meaning Wout Weghorst is afforded another start.
He will be hoping to exercise some demons from the international break in front of goal.
    No Joelinton for Newcastle
Eddie Howe deciding to go unchanged from the win against Nottingham Forest means Joelinton will start on the bench.
He had his way with their opponents last time they came to St. James’ Park.

    Rashford returns from injury
Manchester United: De Gea; Dalot, Martinez, Varane, Shaw; Sabitzer, McTominay; Fernandes, Antony, Rashford, Weghorst
    Newcastle unchanged

Cristian Stellini won’t find Tottenham chaos intimidating after ‘growing as a man’ by coaching team of shoeless refugees

CRISTIAN STELLINI wept as he recalled how coaching a team of REFUGEES taught him what a real crisis is.Tottenham’s interim-boss left his job working with Antonio Conte at Juventus under a cloud in 2012 after being given a 2½-year ban for his part in a match-fixing scandal.
Cristian Stellini was Antonio Conte’s assistant at Tottenham for the duration of the Italian’s tenure
But he found redemption and a new perspective as the coach of Survivors — an ever-changing squad of players in Turin that included Africans who wanted to fight each other, an Afghan boxer on the run and a one-eyed Moroccan goalkeeper.
Stellini declared: “It’s very emotional, talking about that experience. It allowed me to grow as a man.
“What I learned was they had more problems than me. I was sad for my own situation but they smiled, they worked hard, they came.
“We had 35 people on the pitch without shoes. They asked, ‘I can train?’ It was a big experience. I could write a book.”

It puts the current “chaos” at Spurs in perspective.
Stellini takes charge at Everton tomorrow night and then the remaining nine games of the season after Conte was axed following his extraordinary rant at his “selfish” players and the “underachieving” club.
Then, on Friday, Fabio Paratici stood down as director of football after Fifa issued a worldwide ban for his part in the finance scandal at Juventus.
The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust has urged under-fire chairman Daniel Levy to sort out the mess or face a fans’ revolt, while Manchester United want to sign Harry Kane this summer.

But Stellini’s hangdog features lit up as he described the cast of characters he found himself working with in Turin after accepting an invitation from a friend of a friend.
He added: “They came from many countries, some from English Africa and French Africa and every training, the two sides would fight.
“It was a big problem but I used football to create a unit. The guy from Afghanistan had a great history — he tried to come on a dinghy but they brought him back to Turkey three times.
“The next step for him was hiding in a big spare tyre. He hid there until Greece, for maybe 24 hours and when they brought him out all curled up it was impossible for him to extend his leg.
“From that he escaped and came to Italy. He was a boxer and also not a perfect man. He was guilty of something and he had to hide in Italy.
“But they taught me a lot of things about enjoying your life.”
Stellini and Conte’s reign at Tottenham left fans disappointed with their style of football
Stellini’s Survivors were also champions, thanks to an unlikely hero. The 48-year-old Italian said: “We changed many players because sometimes they arrived and sometimes they didn’t. I saw this guy for the first time on the bench and said, ‘Who’s this?’.
“We were in this tournament and all the players said to me, ‘If we go to penalties, he has to be the keeper’. I said, ‘But he is without an eye’ and they said, ‘But he saves every penalty’.
“In the semi-final and final he saved three penalties and we won the tournament. I said, ‘How is this possible?’ And they said, ‘It’s about desire’.”
Stellini has never talked about the refugee team in such detail with Spurs’ players or anywhere else, although perhaps he should.
But he has already seen signs his players are ready to fight against their first-world problems.
He appreciated Son Heung-min’s emotional confession he had let Conte down.
Stellini said: “When players take responsibility in this type of situation, it means they are mature.
“It would be worse if the players didn’t care about what happened.”
Tottenham’s players held a clear-the-air meeting on Friday — the first chance for everyone to meet after an eventful international break.
England captain Kane was among the speakers and Stellini said: “I was impressed because I felt that players were taking responsibility for the situation, for the club.
Stellini took charge of four games as Spurs boss whilst Conte was recovering from surgery and managed four wins
“Football is about time and movement and spaces. It’s the same in life. You have to know where you are and where you want to go and the speed you need to go where you want.”
But also you need to understand what really matters, something Stellini only learned during his time with those refugees in Turin a decade ago.
He keeps in touch with some of them via Facebook — one now has a degree in chemical engineering.
So, think on, Tottenham players . . . and you Tottenham fans.
Stellini added: “You cannot feel it’s a crisis when you have a club around you, when you have fans around you.
“Crisis is a different thing. Crisis means you cannot play football. When we had Covid, that was a crisis for everyone.

“One of the first things I said to the players was that I don’t want sad faces.
“I want only players with smiles. Because we are playing football. We are playing for Tottenham!” More
