However, Wright, 59, has suggested that Ten Hag, 53, needs to sign a new right back.
He claims that the right side is currently “not working” and that it would be improved with a new wide defender.
The ex-Gunner also thinks that Manchester United should look to sign a new striker and a new goalkeeper to at least challenge David De Gea.
He said on his Wrighty’s House podcast: “That man [Ten Hag] has got to get everything he needs to try and do his job well and play the football he wants to play.

“For what he’s done at Manchester United this season, he deserves that.
“I still don’t think the right-hand side of the team is working right now. You’ve got [Jadon] Sancho and Antony who are capable of doing unbelievable stuff.
“Antony had so many options [at Ajax] – he could cut in and target the No. 9 or there would be a player overlapping him. He had so many different options to get the best out of him.

“The same for Sancho at Borussia Dortmund. You have two unbelievable players who can do loads of great stuff but they’ve not been put into a system where they can thrive.

“I can’t wait for Erik ten Hag to get the right-back he wants and the No 9 he wants.

Man Utd and Tottenham blow in David Raya transfer race as LaLiga giants monitor Brentford keeper

MANCHESTER UNITED and Tottenham have been handed a blow in their pursuit of David Raya. The Premier League sides have been linked with the Brentford goalkeeper, 27, as they look to replace long-term stars David De Gea and Hugo Lloris.
David Raya is reportedly wanted to LaLiga teamsCredit: Getty
However, they are not the only clubs interested in signing the Spaniard.
According to The Telegraph, Raya has attracted interest from some of the top sides in LaLiga.
This could hurt the English teams’ chances of completing a transfer, as a move to his homeland could be tempting.
The report suggests that the Spanish clubs would be willing to wait till his contract expires to sign him for free.

Raya has rejected two contract offers to extend his stay at Brentford, with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season.
This means that Man United and Tottenham would have to accelerate their efforts to sign the goalkeeper.
Manager Thomas Frank has insisted that it would cost “at least” £40million to sign the Spanish international.
When asked if Raya will stay at the club earlier this month, he said: “I think we need to get into the Champions League and then he would consider it.

“I love David as a keeper. I really believe he is one of the best in the Premier League.
“If someone wants to come and buy him, he is very expensive. He will be, for me, at least £40m-plus. No doubt about that.”
However the Bees are braced to lose Raya and are lining up a move for his potential replacement, Dutch international keeper Mark Flekken, according to reports.
He built his career with lower-league German clubs Alemannia Aachen, Greuther Furth and MSV Duisburg before Freiburg signed him in 2018.
They want to offer the Enschede-born keeper a new deal, with a release clause higher than the £11.44million in his existing contract. More

Ian Wright gives prediction for Liverpool vs Arsenal and urges ruthless performance from Mikel Arteta’s men

But they head into the clash at the weekend off the back of seven successive league victories.
By contrast, Liverpool have not won any of their last four matches in all competitions.
And Wright, who will watch his side take a giant step towards the title with a victory on Merseyside, feels Arsenal have what it takes to do the job.
Speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast, he said: “Liverpool’s performance away to Man City was disappointing because it felt like an old champion going back into the ring.

“For a couple of rounds it looked like they were back but then they were gone after the first punch. Man City just steamrolled them and it was quite embarrassing for Liverpool in the end.
“I think Arsenal have the energy and the capabilities to cause Liverpool problems. It’s a question of how long we can sustain it at Anfield because that’s not something we’ve done for a while there.
“Can we sustain the pressure you need so Liverpool don’t go bang, bang, bang? That’s what I’m excited to see.
“If we can beat them – which I think we can – then I’m starting to get very excited. I’m excited as it is but these are the huge games in a title race.

“I think Arsenal can do it, I’m confident Arsenal can do it. It’s so exciting. I can already feel the buzz around that game.
“With what’s going on at Liverpool, it’s the time to attack them and get them to answer some questions.
“I know we’re going to have a period in that game where if Liverpool are not at it, we’re probably going to score a couple of goals.
“That’s what I’m excited about. I like our mentality and we’ve got to go there and do what we’ve been doing over the past month or so.”
Arsenal hold an eight-point lead over Manchester City, but have played one game more.
Pep Guardiola’s men can close the gap to five points on Saturday with a win against Southampton at St Mary’s.
Arsenal also still have to go to the Etihad to face Man City on April 26. More

Cole, 51, scored 121 goals in 275 games for the Red Devils but expects he would not have scored as many if Antony was in his team.
He told King Casino Bonus: “If I was a striker in this Manchester United team and saw Antony was playing on the right wing, I’d be pulling my hair out because I know that I will never get a cross my way on his weak right foot.
“If I was making a run into the box, I would not expect anything because he always chops back on to his left foot.
“The game has changed now and what managers want from wingers is different.”

The winger joined United last summer from Ajax for £85.5million.
So far he has scored seven goals in his 31 appearances in all competitions.
However, he has only provided one assist for his team-mates.
Cole went on to suggest that Antony might have underestimated the difficulty of playing in the Premier League.

Man Utd takeover update with club to invite bidders to more talks and insist sale IS still possible

MANCHESTER UNITED will invite potential bidders to MORE talks in the coming days – and insist a sale IS still possible.Doubts over the Glazer family’s true intentions have been raised after their bankers Raine Group have opted for radio silence for almost a fortnight.

Sheikh Jassim has also made an offer to buy the club
Both Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos have been left in the dark by the lack of contact since they submitted world record £5bn bids over the final weekend of last month.
That has led to growing concerns that the Glazers might be more minded to accept the offer of US hedge fund Elliott Management for a “small amount of common equity” that could see the club’s commercial and merchandising division hived off into a separate company.
But the Glazers now want to discover how serious the main bidders actually are about coming close to their £6bn valuation, by inviting them for a further conversation.
It appears the Glazers and Raine are looking to give Ineos and Sheikh Jassim a final chance to up their bids to a level where the deal cannot be turned down.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
However, if an offer at the right level is not made, the sale could be scuppered.
The family said to be “open-minded” about their options.
It is understood that club co-chairman Joel and Avram Glazer are keener to stay on at the club and would settle for a minority share sale or offer of investment.
However, the other four siblings would prefer to cash in.

But the latest move could bring a backlash from the bidders.
They have hinted at frustration they feel they might have been “played” by Raine and the Glazers over the four months since the possibility of a sale was publicly announced. More
