Man City and Prem sides out to close little-known loophole which can see them PAY clubs for taking their stars on loan

MANCHESTER CITY and other Premier League sides are looking at ways to close a loophole in loan transfers.City and several allies plan to ask clubs to sign waivers on future claims for ‘training compensation’ pay-days if their players are eventually sold.

Many of City manager Pep Guardiola’s youngsters spend time out on loan to gain experience and then return or are moved out.
Clubs taking kids on loan who are later transferred are due to be given decent payments out of the sale under current legislation.
This is annoying the likes of City, who feel they do favours when they let some of their best kids go for a season on loan and do not think they should also lose money on later sales.
So the deal will be for clubs to give up their ‘rights’ to future payments before they are sent out on loan.

The Blades have borrowed both Tommy Doyle and James McAtee from City this season.
City prospect Taylor Harwood-Bellis joined Burnley last summer, helping the club achieve immediate promotion back to the Premier League.
Elsewhere, the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea also have a large number of players out on loan, including multiple young talents.

The winger started out at the Elland Road academy and earned a senior call-up in 2018.
The England Under-20 international amassed a total of two goals and two assists in 28 appearances with the Whites.
That led the versatile forward, who can also play as a left midfielder, attacking midfielder as well as a centre-forward, to Tottenham just a year later.
However, Clarke struggled to break into the senior squad as he only managed a mere four appearances across all competitions.

He was loaned back to Leeds before also undergoing temporary stints at Queens Park Rangers, Stoke and finally Sunderland.
The youngster finally found his new home at the Black Cats, who signed him on a permanent deal in July.
Clarke has since risen to prominence with a total of 10 goals and nine assists in 42 appearances this season.
Zaha’s contract with Palace comes to an end in June and there are no signs he will put pen to paper on a new deal.

Palace initially feared the winger had played his last ever match at Selhurst Park after leaving the pitch in tears last Saturday against Leicester following a groin injury.
But scans since have shown that the damage is not as bad as first feared, with the club expecting the Ivory Coast international to be sidelined for around three weeks.
That means the 30-year-old could return for their London derby against West Ham on April 29. More

Now the young attacker is trying to bring his family to the capital to keep him company as soon as a possible.
Mudryk, 22, could be reunited with his parents shortly as he tries to adjust to his new surroundings.
It’s been quite the start to the year for the star who found himself at the centre of a transfer tug of war between Arsenal and Chelsea in January.
The Gunners had been linked to Mudryk for months and he had appeared keen to make his way to North London.

But the Blues made a late swoop in the window and managed to secure the highly-rated ace.
But things have not gone to plan for either party so far.
Apart from a sharp debut off the bench at Anfield, Mudryk has struggled to make an impact for Chelsea and has found minutes hard to come by despite his huge price tag.
He only has one assist to show for his nine Premier League appearances so far and is increasingly struggling to work his way into the Blues’ starting line-up.

The midfielder has attracted immense interest from some of Europe’s heaviest hitters, such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and the Reds.
Hamann claims the England international isn’t used to criticism as he suggested he gets treated favourably at Dortmund.
However, the ex-Germany international insists that won’t be the case at a bigger club.
The former City star added that the 19-year-old will have to learn how to help at the back and move forward in order to take his game to the next level.

Hamann told Sky Sports: “What Bellingham doesn’t have is discipline.
“He may want to return to the island [England] or Real Madrid. He has to play differently.
“At Dortmund he can do what he wants. Nobody dares to say anything.
“Because they’re afraid of upsetting him. If you have that as a team-mate, you’ll have a problem.

“If he doesn’t do anything forwards and backwards, what does he do then?
“Obviously he is an exceptional player. But he has to get his discipline under control.”

But by the time Howe brought Gordon off again to waste time, Newcastle were 2-1 up with just a few minutes remaining.
Despite the Toon’s advantage, Gordon was clearly unhappy at his removal for Matt Ritchie.
Howe consoled the star at the full-time and the midfielder could later be seen smiling widely in a squad photo, suggesting any issues had been solved.
Speaking after the huge win, Howe said he had “no problem” with Gordon but added Howe added that he needs to “control his emotions in that moment”.

The Newcastle boss is also quoted in other interviews as saying that he picked the former Everton man to come off after as he was holding his ankle and Howe wanted to get an experienced player on.
It was otherwise a great away trip for Howe’s side who became only the second visiting side to win at the Gtech in the Premier League this season.
Ivan Toney converted from the spot having missed an earlier penalty to give Brentford the lead.
But an own goal from David Raya and a strike just after the hour mark from Alexander Isak gave Newcastle a big three points in the race to get into the Champions League.

But Brighton were left fuming after goals from Kaoru Mitoma and Alexis Mac Allister were both ruled out for handball.
Fans were left in disbelief that Mitoma’s effort was disallowed, claiming the ball had in fact hit him on the shoulder.
The Seagulls also felt they should have been given a penalty when Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg appeared to trip Mitoma in the box.
Spurs interim boss Cristian Stellini and Brighton gaffer Roberto De Zerbi were both sent off following a melee between the two dugouts after Mac Allister’s strike was ruled out.

Dumbfounded fans say Erling Haaland is a ‘cheat code’ after Man City star’s filthy bicycle kick against Southampton

Jack Grealish sent in a cross that was just behind the big Norwegian.
Bu that was no matter to him as he launched himself into the air to try and rescue the chance.
Haaland then pulled off a filthy bicycle kick to send the ball past Gavin Bazunu.
It turned out to be his last touch of the match as he was quickly subbed off but fans were still left reeling from his goal long after he departed.
One delighted City supporter said: “Haaland is such a cheat code. Grealish assist too we are eating good.”
Another said: “This haaland guy is a robot.”
While another fan noted: “Erling Haaland has scored more league goals this season than 8 Premier League teams.”
And one admirer of the goal-scorer added: “Haaland will score 40 PL goals by the end of the season. That guy is not normal.”

It was the 22-year-old’s 30th strike of a goal-laden Premier League season, with his 29th coming at the end of scrappy first-half as the relegation-battling Saints frustrated Pep Guardiola’s side.
But Kevin De Bruyne found space near the touchline and sent in a cross for Haaland to head home just before half-time.
Grealish also scored in between Haaland’s brace as the midfielder continues his strong run of form.
But ultimately it was Haaland making the headlines again as he continues his astonishing debut season at the Etihad.
He now has 42 goals in all competitions, with last month seeing him hit five against RB Leipzig in Europe before netting a hat-trick in the FA Cup a few days later More
