And he has been ruled out for up to ten weeks with the issue, according to the Daily Mail.
Alli was given permission to fly back to the UK after picking up the injury while on loan at Turkish club Besiktas.
Everton boss Sean Dyche was asked about the 37-cap England midfielder following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Manchester United.
Dyche said: “He is just getting some treatment and he is injured.

“He is under contract in a loan there.”
Meawhile, Besiktas manager Senol Gunes said, via The Athletic: “Let Dele Alli recover from his injury.
“Then we’ll take care of him. If he wants to stay, let him stay. If he wants to go, let him go.

But the Mail now claim Alli is set to miss the remainder of the campaign, meaning he has likely played his last game for Besiktas.
The former Tottenham man last appeared for the club at the end of February, having joined on a season-long loan deal from the Toffees last summer.
In total he has played 15 games for the Turkish outfit – scoring three goals.
Alli is under contract at Everton until the end of next season, and the Mail claim he will assess his future in the summer after recovering from injury.
Last month Besiktas boss Gunes accused Alli of going AWOL from training, before Alli himself clarified on social media that the club had given him permission to attend a doctor’s appointment.
On Monday a picture emerged of Alli with a balloon in his mouth surrounded by what appear to be gas canisters. More

Crystal Palace planning huge summer transfer overhaul with Man Utd and Chelsea stars targeted and Zaha future in doubt

CRYSTAL PALACE are preparing to spend big in the summer to reboot their long-term plan after sacking Patrick Vieira. The Eagles axed Vieira last month in their bid to beat the drop and turned back to his predecessor, Roy Hodgson.

Vieira had replaced Hodgson in 2021 as they looked to move to the new level, investing in a number of younger more attacking players.
After a successful first season, including an FA Cup semi-final, Vieira failed to kick on in South London and Palace are preparing another push this summer.
There have been tensions in the boardroom over the level of spending in recent windows, with some feeling more should have been done to help Vieira in January.
However, there is a feeling everyone is close to being on the same page ahead of the summer.

And while there is also a new manager to appoint, with Hodgson currently in the gig until the end of the season, a list of targets are being drawn up.
The Eagles are keen to bring in new faces along the entire back four, to cover and compete with their existing options.
Academy product Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who joined Manchester United in 2019, is a target while Palace are braced for interest in England international Marc Guehi.
Sporting director Dougie Freedman also wants to add more options in midfield, with a No8 high on their list, as the quest to replace last season’s player of the year, Conor Gallagher, continues.

The Chelsea man, who shone on loan at Selhurst Park last season, is likely to be available this summer with the Blues in need of a clearout, but Palace will face huge competition.
With Wilfried Zaha’s future still up in the air and his contract running out in the summer, a winger will also be needed before the new campaign, while any manager will also want a striker added.
Hodgson has managed to get Palace firing once again but the lack of a clinical striker hurt Vieira as well as the current boss during his first spell at the club.

The 43-year-old, who was issued a red card in the defeat at Tottenham on Saturday, has guided the Seagulls to seventh spot in the Premier league ahead of the run-in.
Much of Brighton’s success has been down to their shrewd recruitment over recent years.
And De Zerbi moved to strengthen that department upon his arrival when bringing in his own specialist.
That man was fellow Italian Salvatore Monaco, who joined shortly after his compatriot.

He was installed as assistant to the then head of recruitment Paul Winstanley.
Monaco had previously occupied a similar role for De Zerbi with both Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk.
But a fresh report from The Athletic says that “no sooner had Monaco arrived than it became clear he was not particularly suited to the role”.
They claim that his “skill set and style proved to be less effective in Brighton’s unique set-up”.

Now they claim that Monaco actually left Brighton once the winter market closed.
And the “decision was made between all parties and approved by De Zerbi” himself.
Meanwhile, Winstanley followed Potter, who has now been axed, to Chelsea in November.
He was succeeded by deputy Sam Jewell and no replacement for Monaco is allegedly being lined up. More

The Burkina Faso star, who hit the opener against Forest, had come off the bench to curl in the winning goal for Villa at Leicester on Tuesday night.
It was his first hurrah in this Premier League season as he opened up about his struggles with the iconic Liverpool skipper in charge.
He told SunSport: “It’s a goal that means a lot to me.
“My last two seasons have been hell, I picked up many injuries and had lots of problems with Gerrard.”

Some of the issues between the pair were of the Traore’s own making.
Traore said: “With Gerrard there were no personal issues, he is a good coach, it’s just I was injured a lot.
“And despite that, I still went away to the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022, where I sustained another injury.
“He took it badly and made me train with the reserves before sending me out on loan.”

Man Utd legend and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville accuses Arsenal star of breaking ‘rule’ against Liverpool

GARY NEVILLE has accused Granit Xhaka of breaking a “rule” at Anfield. Arsenal were two goals up after a stunning opening 30 minutes, which put them on course for a famous win at Liverpool.

However, Xhaka has been credited with being the spark for his team’s downfall as Liverpool fought back to draw 2-2.
Xhaka was involved in an altercation with Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the dormant fire which had suddenly been lit under Liverpool saw the game run away from Arsenal, according to Neville.
Speaking to his Sky Sports podcast, he said: “Arsenal played brilliantly in the first 40 minutes and then they just got the crowd up.
“I’m not pointing directly at the Xhaka incident where he got involved but there is a rule when you play here and it didn’t help.

“There are some rules here: get through the first 25 minutes, play the ball forward and don’t let them press you early on, if the crowd are sleepy, leave it that way.
“Don’t wind the crowd up or give a stupid free-kick away. Don’t get involved in a fight because they want the fire here.
“One team needs fire and that’s Liverpool and one team needs ice and that’s Arsenal.
“Arsenal got involved in fire before half-time and obviously they conceded.”

Now he could be asked to take charge of relegation-threatened Leicester for the final eight games of the season – starting with a daunting trip to Manchester City on Saturday.
Leicester have shown an interest in the ex-Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton boss Benitez, 62, in the past.
They feel the Spaniard can stop the Foxes leaking the goals that have dumped them in the bottom three.
Smith is also believed to be under consideration to take over as interim boss until the end of the season.

First team coaches Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell have been in caretaker charge since Rodgers’ exit.
But they have lost both of their home games against Aston Villa and – crucially – relegation rivals Bournemouth.
Benitez was an early front-runner for the job after sacked Chelsea boss Graham Potter made it clear he was not about to make a quick return to management.
Leicester opened talks with ex-Leeds chief Marsch – who left Elland Road two months ago.

But no agreement was reached with the American – who was also close to getting the Southampton job.
It now looks likely Leicester will appoint an interim manager before re-assessing the situation in the summer.
By that time, they could be in the Championship and their targets will have changed.
Leicester have considered a number of experienced managers for the role, including Sam Allardyce and Martin O’Neill, who was last in charge of the Foxes almost two decades ago. More

Chelsea’s are keen on avoiding having any top stars with less than two years left on their contracts.
And Chilwell is poised to put pen to paper on a new four-year deal, according to The Athletic.
That will see his contract run up until the summer of 2027.
It also wards off reported interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.

Reports earlier this year claimed City are long-time admirers of the left-back.
However, Chilwell is now poised to commit his long-term future to the Blues.
Chilwell joined the club in a £50million deal from Leicester in 2020, winning the Champions League in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
A long-term knee injury restricted him to just seven Premier League appearances last season.

Chilwell then missed the World Cup with England due to a hamstring problem.
But he is now back fit and firing and has impressed in what has been a poor campaign for the Blues.
He has started seven out of the last eight Prem games, scoring two goals and providing four assists in 25 appearances in all competitions so far this season. More
