Roy Keane gives brutal assessment of ‘lucky boy’ Frank Lampard’s chances of success at Chelsea

ROY KEANE doesn’t expect “lucky boy” Frank Lampard to lead Chelsea to Premier League and Champions League success as interim boss.Lampard made a surprise return to the Blues earlier this month as caretaker boss until the end of the season following Graham Potter’s dismissal.

But the West Londoners’ fortunes haven’t improved since the arrival of the club’s record goalscorer in the dugout as he lost both of his first two matches in charge against Wolves and Real Madrid.
Manchester United legend Keane thinks Lamps is lucky to get yet another big opportunity in management after a disappointing spell at Everton.
The Sky Sports pundit also doesn’t expect Chelsea to make it to the top four in the Premier League, let alone win the Champions League.
Keane told The Overlap: “Good luck to him. The way thing has changed in football, the manager is under a lot of pressure now.

“A lot of clubs are looking for managers until the end of the season. Listen, good luck to him.
“I’m not bothered, but…. They’ve got some excellent players, but obviously something is missing at the moment.
“Even in the last couple of performances, they’re not finding a way to win.
“I look at the personality of a team when all the stats are positive in terms of possession and chances created, but they haven’t got that nastiness that some of the Chelsea teams have had over the last few years.

“Frank is a lucky boy. Frank has had some really good jobs, you need some luck in the game, but to go back in there?
“Do I see Chelsea going on to win the Champions League or kicking on to get into the top four? I can’t see it.
“Listen, it’s a mad game we’re involved with and they do have some quality players.
“Because they’ve brought so many players in it does take some time to gel, I don’t think they’ve got that team spirit and unity at this moment in time…

Until two moments of madness late on saw United throw away a two-goal lead, arguably swinging the tie in Sevilla’s favour.
However, Erik ten Hag will believe his side can make that abysmal display a distant memory against a team who they have got the better of on three occasions this season.
But the United gaffer has a injury dilemma on his hands with key players likely to be missing for this match.
When is Nottingham Forest vs Man Utd?

    What is the team news?
Steve Cooper’s side have been struck with a number of injuries with Cheikhou Kouyate (hamstring) and Moussa Niakhate (hamstring) the two latest members to join the lengthy list.
Omar Richards (calf), Renan Lodi (knock), Giulian Biancoma (knee), Gustavo Scarpa (knee), Ryan Yates (shoulder) and Serge Aurier (knock) are all expected to be out.

Stunning topless model and Man Utd fan reveals awkward lift encounter with Pickford and other Everton stars

TOPLESS model and Manchester United fan Ann Mari Olsen had an awkward encounter with four Everton stars that was wrong on many levels. That’s because, while dressed in full Red Devils’ kit, she bumped into Jordan Pickford and three of his team-mates in an elevator.

The Norwegian was staying at the same hotel as the Toffees before their 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford last Saturday.
And as the lift was on its way to the ground floor, England keeper Pickford will hope it’s not an unlucky omen as Everton battle to avoid going down.
Ann Mari revealed her close call with the quartet on Instagram.
The Old Trafford season-ticket holder posted:  “The three latest game in the league has been very different. I didn’t know what to expect against Everton, but I was very happily surprised!

“Should have scored at least four more goals.
“A fun fact: I stayed at the same hotel as the Everton team and when I was in the elevator down, it stopped and Pickford and three other players stepped in. And I was of course all dressed in red full United!”
The Toffees’ players might have been less surprised than Ann Mari – at least if they have seen her on social media.
The super-supporter from Oslo regularly shares snaps of her in United gear with 149,000 Instagram followers.

The Norwegian is hoping to wear less to games as summer approachesCredit: Twitter @Annmariolsen
And she inked her dedication last summer – with a No7 shirt tattoo in honour of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Unfortunately that mark of love turned out to instead show the art of mistiming – as legend CR7 endured a misfiring start to the season and an undignified exit in November before joining Al-Nassr over New Year.
But Ann Mari is not one of those fans who expect everything to go right, even though Erik Ten Hag is hunting a cup treble.
Having won the EFL Cup, the Red Devils could yet win the FA Cup and Europa League, although Thursday’s crazy 2-2 home draw with Sevilla in the quarter-final first leg dented that last hope.
But when she posted her elevator anecdote this week, the online star included what might not have been a deliberate pun.
She wrote: “As predicted, Ten Hag’s first season has had its ups and downs, and it’s too hard to expect great performances every game. ”
One thing is certain, however, as Ann Mari parades her pics to supporters: she always tries to give them a lift. More

And according to The Times, Slot is among the London rivals’ top choices for the dugout.
The North Londoners parted ways with Antonio Conte in March and will finish the season with the Italian tactician’s former assistant Cristian Stellini in charge.
Palace also sacked Patrick Vieira last month and replaced him with Roy Hodgson, the man the Frenchman succeeded in 2021, on an interim capacity.
Moyes’ position is becoming untenable with West Ham fighting for Premier League survival.

And the Hammers are still likely to look for a new head coach even if the Scotsman wins the Europa Conference League.
Slot has been enjoying a stunning season as he is leading Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title.
The Dutchman has guided the Rotterdam giants to first place with an eight-point lead ahead of defending champions Ajax.

Tottenham have reportedly drawn up a list of several potential candidates.
That includes former manager Mauricio Pochettino, as well as Julian Nagelsmann and Brendan Rodgers.
West Ham, on the other hand, have been linked with Rafa Benitez, who has been out of work ever since his departure from Everton last year. More

I’m a future Arsenal star who played for Tottenham and at Man Utd – I once made $11,000 in one night on Fortnite

REUELL WALTERS is the Arsenal starlet who was cast aside by Manchester United and Tottenham and made a major contribution to video game Fortnite. The 18-year-old full-back is on the brink of making his first-team debut having featured regularly in the Gunners’ matchday squads this season.

Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff have been thoroughly impressed by what they’ve seen of the teenager, although that couldn’t be said of the Premier League leaders’ rivals Manchester United and Tottenham.
Walters was on the books at Tottenham from the age of ten and quickly began playing with older age groups after impressing in the North Londoners’ Under-11s side.
But his stint with Spurs came to an end four years later when the club opted not to renew his contract, which led to him joining Manchester United’s youth ranks.
Walters was given a baptism of fire when he was chucked into the under-15s trip to Northern Ireland to play in the Milk Cup.

The defender flourished as a junior Red Devil, so much so that the Prem giants wanted to retain his services by offering him a schoolboy contract.
But Walters was left in a state of limbo when the Premier League rejected United’s attempts to register him after having already met their quota for schoolboys.
And they didn’t pursue Walters after a space came free – deciding another position was more important.
With football on the back burner, Walters – like many kids his age – began playing Fortnite.

And in November 2019, he got an email from the game’s creators to say he’d made £16 for his RJW’s BoxPVP map.
Dad Rapahel told The Athletic: “He said ‘I just made $20 for my map.’
“People are in my map and when they buy stuff with their V-Bucks, I get a commission, so I made $20’.”
A whopping 250 million people ended up downloading Walter’s map – which led to him pocketing a cool £8,860 ($11,000).
Walter’s parents didn’t let video games get in the way of their son’s dream of playing professional football and got him one-on-one coaching.
And trainer Saul Isaksson-Hurst eventually convinced Arsenal’s head of talent ID, Lee Herron, to take a look at the teen.
Herron liked what he saw and invited Walters for a trial in August 2020, although it was delayed as the Premier League launched an investigation to see if he’d been tapped up.

    He’s also played for England’s Under-19sCredit: GETTY
And after impressing the Gunners’ youth coaches with a string of solid displays, Walters inked an Under-16s deal with the club.
Mum Aisha recalled: “We said, ‘We don’t want to make a commitment to a club that doesn’t believe in him.
“If you believe in pro, you’ll offer it to him when we cross that threshold.
“We don’t want it because we negotiated it; we want it because you believed in him.’
“That was quite a refreshing conversation on both sides of the table.”
Walters penned a professional contract with the North Londoners in 2022 and hasn’t looked back since.

He’s now well and truly the understudy of England and Japan internationals Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Man Utd fans spot Casemiro’s ‘Roy Keane-like’ reaction to David De Gea’s antics just before kick-off against Sevilla

CASEMIRO was left unimpressed with David De Gea’s pre-game antics and left fans in hysterics with his reaction. Man United’s players were lining up in the Old Trafford tunnel alongside Sevilla ahead of their Europa League clash.
This was Casemiro’s reaction to De Gea’s pre game hugs
The dramatic game ended 2-2 after an unexpected and unlucky collapse from the Red Devils.
But fans have been drawn to incident before the game as Casemiro stood at the head of tunnel alongside De Gea.
The Brazilian midfielder watched as the goalkeeper hugged opposition keeper Yassine Bounou before also embracing ex-Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
Casemiro’s stunned face has been compared to Roy Keane, the famously hard-to-please pundit and United legend.

The 31-year-old’s disapproving grimace at De Gea’s pre-game show of affection gave fans plenty to laugh about despite the disappointing result that followed.
One fan said: “[Roy] Keane must be so proud of Cassa right now.”
Another added: “Casemiro’s face is just fantastic.”
One other United fan said: “He’s given up on him lmao.”

While another fan said: “Gotta love this guy.”
It was not Casemiro but his midfield partner Marcel Sabitzer who looked to steal headlines with a brilliant first-half brace as United tore apart their Spanish opponents.
But a bizarre match saw Man United miss several opportunities to put the game to bed while also losing first-choice centre backs Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez to injury.
Erik ten Hag’s side then conceded two late own goals with Bruno Fernandes also picking up a controversial booking that will see him miss the second leg next week. More

Chelsea ‘contact three keepers’ as they target transfer replacement for both Kepa and Mendy

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have conteacted the representatives of three goalkeepers ahead of the summer transfer window.
Brentford’s David Raya, Inter Milan’s Andre Onana and Borussia Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel are apparently the trio the Blues are looking at.
Reports in Georgia suggest Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is also of interest.
Current options Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy may find themselves being booted from the team with the Blues likely to assess their options in goal at the end of this season.
    READ MORE ON CHELSEA
Mendy was the preferred keeper under manager Thomas Tuchel, with the Senegalese keeper going on to win the Champions League, taking over from a flagging Kepa.
However, Kepa overtook Mendy as the No1 earlier this season, and didn’t have much competition as Mendy has had to recover from a broken finger.
But the Spaniard’s form has been inconsistent of late, with mistakes allowing Real Madrid to score twice in their Champions League tie on Wednesday.
According to reports, there is a feeling that Kepa may not be worth his £190,000-a-week salary, and if a good offer comes in then Chelsea may well let him go.

There has also reportedly been a breakdown in contract negotiations between Chelsea and Mendy, who has two years left with the team.

Antonio Cassano claims Erling Haaland ‘doesn’t know how to play football’ and compares him to Inter Milan cult hero

SUPREME goal machine Erling Haaland “doesn’t know how to play football”.That’s the verdict of ex-Italy striker Antonio Cassano, despite record-breaker Haaland netting 45 times for Manchester City this season.
Erling Haaland is a ‘phenomenal’ striker but no footballer, says Antonio CassanoCredit: Getty
Haaland is rated as a ‘mix’ of ex-Inter forwards Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Adriano, according to Cassano, who won 39 caps for ItalyCredit: Getty
Cassano nonetheless likens the 22-year-old to a combination of Inter Milan cult hero Adriano and legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
That makes his description of Haaland even more staggering.
In his first campaign in England, the Norwegian sensation has notched more club goals in a season than any other Premier League player ever.
He’s just four short of Clive Allen’s all-time record of 49 for a top-flight star, set with Tottenham in 1986-87.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
And last Saturday the Golden Boot frontrunner became the fourth Prem player in history to reach 30 goals in one term – in just his 27th game.
But former Real Madrid, Inter and AC Milan ace Cassano has a unique take.
He told Bobo TV: “Haaland reminds me of Adriano’s time at Inter Milan.
“Ibrahimovic with Adriano’s speed? Yes, very well. I agree, even if ‘Ibra’ was more technical than Haaland. It’s a mixture, Adriano and (Christian) Vieri.

“There are other strikers who know how to play football like (Robert) Lewandowski and (Karim) Benzema. He doesn’t know how to play football.
“He’s a great scorer, he’s phenomenal. But don’t you prefer a striker who knows how to play football?”
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has previously stirred controversy by claiming City’s intricate passing style might mean they are a better team WITHOUT Haaland’s pacy, power-packed goal-poaching – which thrived with his “counter-attacking” past sides.
But for scoring stats there is no debate.
Haaland announced himself to the football planet with nine goals in an Under-20 World Cup clash in 2019.
He failed to score in 16 matches for Bryne 2 but netted 20 times in 50 games for Norwegian giants Molde.
Then came 29 in 27 for RB Salzburg and 86 from 89 for Borussia Dortmund, including a debut hat-trick.
And the figures are even more impressive with City, for whom he finished the scoring in Tuesday’s 3-0 Champions League defeat of Bayern Munich.
    Read More on The Sun
Haaland seems sure to pass Mo Salah’s record of 32 goals in a 38-game Prem season.
And he’s only four adrift of the 34 bagged in a single top-flight campaign by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer. More
