The Seagulls have now done the double over Chelsea, who raided them for Graham Potter and several coaches in September.
And Lampard’s return as interim boss has now yielded three defeats in as many matches.
The future certainly looks bleak for mid-table Chelsea, who also face the prospect of elimination in the Champions League.
But according to Spanish journalist Manu Sanchez, Boehly decided to get to grips with the situation by visiting the players’ dressing room straight after the final whistle.

What he said to his expensive squad or caretaker manager is unknown.
But Boehly, who was also joined by fellow owner Behdad Eghbali, seems to have spent the best part of an hour below deck before reemerging for a swift exit from Stamford Bridge.
His decision to enter the dressing room came after he was pictured rowing with Chelsea fans from the directors’ box.
Several supporters looked to be arguing with the billionaire as Chelsea surrendered their one-goal lead to lose 2-1.

But the result was just the start of their issues, with the manner of the defeat and Chelsea’s lack of game plan even more startling.
It now remains to be seen how the Blues finish the season, with Lampard seemingly deciding to sideline new faces like Noni Madueke and David Datro Fofana.
Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann are the favourites to take charge this summer.
And there is seemingly plenty of work to be done to get the squad in shape for the next gaffer. More

I released Harry Kane from Arsenal aged 12… he was so upset he offered to become a goalkeeper

HARRY KANE offered to become a GOALKEEPER when Arsenal released him as a youngster, former Gunners academy manager Roy Massey has revealed.Tottenham’s all-time top scorer was an Arsenal prospect as a child after being scouted by their youth set-up.
Harry Kane was in Arsenal’s academy as a youngster
Kane, left, was released by the Gunners at the age of 12
But academy boss Massey ended up having to tell him at the age of 12 that he was not cutting it as a striker.
Now, the ex-Arsenal coach has revealed Kane’s dad Pat told him his son was willing to become a keeper… although it did not work out.
He said: “When I see Harry now I can’t help but to think back to when he was a starry-eyed 12-year-old, sat with his mum and dad in my office as I told him he wasn’t quite up to the standard we were looking for.
“That was the hardest part of the job, telling lads that Arsenal were letting them go.

“Next thing, Harry’s dad came back in and told me he now wants to be a goalkeeper – and I thought the least I could do was to send him to work with our keeper coach Alex Welch.
“Alex was one of the best in the business and after just a few sessions he told me ‘Roy, the lad is never going to make the grade in goal’, so this time Harry had to move on.
“I know how much it hurt him.”
Kane recovered from his Arsenal rejection and ended up being picked up by Spurs – where he has gone on to become their all-time top scorer.

And Massey, 79, who brought through the likes of Bukayo Saka, Jack Wilshere, Emile Smith-Rowe, Josh Dasilva and Joe Willock, has nothing but admiration for the Lilywhites’ 273-goal talisman.
He added: “Some lads are lost to the game forever because they can’t get over the disappointment.
“But Harry took my words as a challenge. He went back to playing for his Sunday League team for the next three years and then signed for Spurs.
“I’m an Arsenal man through and through. But Harry Kane’s perseverance is a credit to him and his family.”
As well as setting new standards for Spurs, Kane is also England’s record-breaking marksman.
He moved beyond Wayne Rooney’s tally of 53 goals with a penalty in a 2-1 win over Italy last month.
Kane has now registered 55 goals in 82 games for his country, while also contributing 17 assists.

The Manchester United star, 28, scored 64 goals in 137 games for his Portuguese club.
Fernandes went on to sign for the Red Devils in January 2020.
And he has since netted 64 times in 174 games at Old Trafford.
The midfielder’s astonishing record has seen him hailed as one of the most consistent performers around.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
Fernandes credits his brilliant fitness record with taking part in extra training drills during his time at Sporting.
But disaster struck one day when Raphinha joined in.
Now at Barcelona, the ex-Leeds ace spent two years at Sporting between 2018 and 2020.
His stats were less impressive than Fernandes’, with just nine goals in 41 games.

And in a desperate attempt to boost his own fitness levels, Raphinha attempted to imitate the playmaker’s extra workouts after training had ended.
However, this led to the winger suffering an injury setback.
And Sporting’s club doctor jokingly laid the blame at Fernandes’ feet.
The United star said: “I was one of the first players in Portugal to play 56 games for the club in one season.
“At the end of training, I was always doing some extra shooting and the doctor was knocking at the window telling me to come inside.
“We had Raphinha at the time, and he stayed with me one time doing some shooting and got injured after two games.
“The doctor said to me: ‘This is your fault, you pushed him to stay with you and now he’s injured’.
“I can do it, I’m physically available to do it. I don’t know if I have any secrets.
“My mother and father will know. They made me in a way that I can be available for every game.” More

Premier League star Jesse Lingard to face trial after ‘giving fake name’ to cops over driving offence

The Nottingham Forest ace allegedly gave cops the name of a man who “doesn’t exist” along with an address which is “believed to be a car park”, a court heard.
His case was heard for the first time at Stockport Magistrates Court yesterday – however, the former England international was not present.
His lawyer entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf.
The court heard the Range Rover Sport was picked up by a camera allegedly exceeding the speed limit on the A56 in Trafford in August last year – but that the driver was never stopped or spoken to.
    MORE ON LINGARD
Mike Arden, prosecuting for Greater Manchester Police, said the force “wrote to Mr Lingard at his then home address in Altrincham” with a notice of intended prosecution and a notice requesting the details of who was driving.
He said the notice “made it clear that the individual it was addressed to was to respond” and that “they are not to pass it on to anyone”.
Around two weeks after Mr Lingard was written to, a nomination was made online “by someone appearing to be Mr Lingard”, Mr Arden said.
It claimed the person driving was a George Bolt who lived at an address on Pretoria Road in Oldham, he continued.
    Most read in Football
Mr Bolt was written to and no response was received, the court heard.
Mr Arden said: “That’s not a surprise because he doesn’t exist. We’re quite certain about that.”
He said the force’s central ticket office had identified the name as “linked to a so-called NIP farm.”
Mr Arden added checks were carried out and GMP were “satisfied George Bolt doesn’t exist at that address.”
He said: “We’re not even sure the address exists, we think it is a car park.
“Therefore the nomination of Mr Bolt was inaccurate and misleading and prevents police getting to the bottom of who was driving the Range Rover.”
Frank Rogers, representing Mr Lingard said: “Mr Lingard will say he never saw the notice of intended prosecution and never had any dealings with it.
“It was dealt with by a third party who processed it in the way that has been alleged, without his knowledge, without his authority and certainly without his approval.
“The first he knew about it was the court papers around charging him (for this offence).”
“He simply never received it. It’s essentially a simple trial issue” he added. The trial has been listed for July 28.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of six points on your driving licence and a fine of up to £1,000.
Mr Lingard’s case was one of around 20 heard at the courthouse on Friday following an investigation into the so-called ‘NIP farms.’ More

The Clarets also plan to check on Rangers contract rebel Ryan Kent.
The ex-Liverpool academy winger, 26, would have to fight for a spot in a side just promoted back to the Prem as Burnley already have Moroccan magician Anass Zaroury, 22, in his position.
But Kent is a top free agent and the chance to play at the top level in England would appeal to him after missing out on a move to Leeds a couple of times. More
