ARSENAL are tracking their ex-starlet Yunus Musah for a shock transfer return with the player allegedly “now ready to move on” from Valencia. The 20-year-old American was allowed to leave the Gunners back in 2019 after seven years at the Hale End academy.

He departed North London to join Valencia where he has begun to impress for the Spanish outfit on a regular basis.
Born in New York, Musah played for England at every age group level up to U18.
He then declared for USA in 2020 and has won 25 caps for the Stars and Stripes.
Musah was also one of USA’s best-performers at the World Cup as they drew with Wales and England and beat Iran before being eliminated by Holland in the second round.

Now a host of clubs are plotting a transfer swoop for the midfielder this summer, with the Gunners among the frontrunners to snap him up.
Valencia knew interest was mounting in their star and attempted to tie him down to a new long-term deal, but no agreement has yet been reached.
90min are now reporting that Musah “is ready to move on from Valencia” and Arsenal have already been in “contact with the player’s representatives”.
However, Mikel Arteta faces stiff competition from elsewhere in the Premier League for his signature.

Chelsea and Liverpool have both been keeping tabs on him all season.
They have both also reportedly been in discussions with Musah’s representatives.
And both Newcastle and Brighton are also keen on bringing him back to England from Spain.
However, Musah also appears to have plenty of options from abroad.
Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg all could swoop to try and persuade him to head to Germany.
But Atletico Madrid are also allegedly interested in trying to get him to stay in LaLiga.
Musah is under contract until 2026, and it remains to be seen what asking price relegation-threatened Valencia place on his head, although he does have a release clause in his deal of £89m. More

So this happens in every game. He assists everyone in the team and in return he gets nothing back .No one cares to pass the ball to him.Looks like mbappe will suffer a lot when messi leaves. That was a wonderful pass,Leo. Don’t forget his pre assist. He created 2 big chances. pic.twitter.com/OJORWOJhPZ— ⭐ Leo forever 🐐 (@leo10ney11) April 21, 2023

It has been a far from perfect season for the French club but with top quality stars leading their attack, special moments to lift the mood are always possible.
This was the case against Angers as PSG grabbed two goals in the opening 30 minutes to take a comfortable lead.
Mbappe grabbed the first from close range before being set up beautifully by Messi for the second.
The 35-year-old picks up the ball in his own half and meticulously scans the field ahead of him.

The Argentine then suddenly pings a left-footed pass that wipes out the entire Angers defence and allows Mbappe to confidently stride onto the ball.
The Frenchman expertly takes it beyond the keeper and sweeps it home for his 22nd league goal of the season.
Fans were beside themselves at the brilliant pass.
One said: “What an assist from the GOAT” before adding that Messi was the “God of assists.”

Another said: “Messi is a joy to watch.”
While another added: “What a pass from Leo Messi. GOAT things.”
The win put Paris Saint-Germain 11 points clear at the top of the table but things are far from rosy at the Parc des Princes.
Speculation surrounds the future of manager Christophe Galtier after the club’s early Champions League exit, while he has also been accused of racism. He denies the allegations.
Meanwhile, Mbappe has hit out at a club promotional video that barely featured his teammates and Messi’s future in France is far from certain with the star being linked with a Barcelona return. More

I played for Arsene Wenger then chose to have my leg amputated – I suffered every day just to line the pockets of others

BRUNO RODRIGUEZ decided to have his leg amputated after a successful football career riddled with injuries.Rodriguez was passionate about the sport since a very young age growing up in Bastia and joined Monaco’s reserves in 1989 at the tender age of 15.

The former striker rose through the ranks and made it to the senior squad in 1992 where he played with George Weah, Jurgen Klinsmann, Lilian Thuram, Emmanuel Petit, Youri Djorkaeff and Jean Tigana.
The Frenchman also performed under legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger during his time at Monaco, before his glory years in the Premier League.
Rodriguez told The Times: “It was an apprenticeship of extraordinary quality.
“George Weah took me under his wing, and Jurgen Klinsmann gave me advice: stay calm in front of goal, always be in motion, anticipate — little details which make the difference.”

But that is when his injury hell began and it all kicked off with a bit of “showboating” that set an opponent off.
Rodriguez added: “I started to showboat. A player tackled me, shattering my ankle. That’s how it began.”
The 50-year-old left Monaco in 1993 and spent three years at his hometown club Bastia before his career really took off in 1997 with Metz.
The forward led the club to a stunning Ligue 1 title challenge that went to the wire until ultimately losing the championship to Lens in 1998 and almost landed a spot in France’s World Cup-winning squad.

But it all came with a cost as Rodriguez constantly required injections throughout his nomadic career, which also saw him spend a few months at Bradford on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in 1999.
It was after that short spell in England that the ex-PSG ace’s leg started to experience excruciating pain and he believes it all goes down to club chiefs making him play while injured.
The former centre-forward claims his suffering took place just to “line the pockets of others”.
Rodriguez said: “At every club I passed through, practically, I got injections.

“It happens in football: there’s a bit of an omerta about it, but everyone knows that it goes on.
“I was given them so I could play. If I’d been told it was bad for my health, I would have said no.
“But I’m not a doctor, I was young, I wanted to play because I was a competitor.” Always, every single match [I played through the pain].
“I should have been respected as a person, not treated like a vulgar piece of meat.
“I understand there are financial stakes, sporting stakes. But I regret that there was no one to say, ‘No, let’s not play an injured player, for the sake of his life after football.’
“How many ex-players are there with bad knees, bad ankles, bad backs, bad necks, headaches? How many find themselves at 60 or 70 unable to walk, to get up?”
Rodriguez used to play under Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger at MonacoCredit: Getty
Rodriguez added: “Football and rugby are so popular; all that is secondary.
“People only see what glitters. They don’t see the physical sacrifices. People are losing their heads, for what, a ten-year sporting career, to win a few games? The life afterwards counts for what exactly?
“I was 33 when I ended my career, and I’ve suffered every day since then. My wife will vouch for me.
“I couldn’t drive, I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t go out. All that, for what? To line the pockets of others? Because that’s what it comes down to.”
Rodrigez retired at the age of 33 and was dealing with such unbearable pain he made the tough decision to amputate his right leg below the knee last year.
The Frenchman went through a long and hard rehabilitation period until he learned how to walk again with a prosthetic leg and regain his happiness.
Rodrioguez said: “The first day with the prosthetic, that’s really something.
“All those years, I was either walking with a stick or lying on my back. At the rehab centre, I had been in a wheelchair.

“To suddenly find myself standing up, with a leg that I could walk on . . . [There was a sense of] liberation, and also knowing that it hasn’t been for nothing.
“You’re at the end of the tunnel, you’re not in pain any more. When I got up and I took my first steps, I took a video and sent it to my wife and my children, my friends. I was happy.” More

I used to be Man Utd’s physio.. Jaap Stam performed a brutal WWE move on me at Gary Neville’s house party

BEING a football physio means having to deal with plenty of injured players. But this former Manchester United physio ended up on the sidelines himself.

Thornley has opened up on Stam’s wrestling prowess
That’s after Jaap Stam performed a brutal WWE move on him while at Gary Neville’s house party.
Stam played for United between 1998 and 2001, making 127 appearances while winning a Treble and two further league titles.
The Dutch defender was famous for his no-nonsense reputation.
And he further cemented himself as one of the greatest centre-backs in history with strong spells at Lazio, AC Milan and Ajax.

However, while Stam worked hard, he liked to play hard too.
Former Man United physio Rod Thornley can testify to that, having been ‘suplexed’ by Stam while at a house party hosted by team-mate Neville.
Stam picked up Thornley during the bash and began performing a wrestling move on him, leaving onlookers speechless.
Thornley told Undr the Cosh: “I think if you cross the wrong people in that dressing room you were gone very quickly.

“I mean look at Jaap Stam. That’s a big example of it. He said some bad things about the Nevilles and bang he’s gone out the club.
“He was a great lad. I remember him f***ing picking me up at a house party once and suplexing me on the sofa. I was like: ‘What you doing? We’re in the middle of a house party!’
“(I did) Nothing! Just walked past him. It was a big house party at Gary Neville’s house and he just picked me up and f**ing suplexed me onto the sofa… (I said) ‘What the f*** Jaap!'”
Stam’s United exit in 2001 remains controversial, with Sir Alex Ferguson allegedly axing him for comments the ace made in a book appearing to criticise the club.
Fergie previously said: “When I think of disappointments, obviously Jaap Stam was always a disappointment to me, I made a bad decision there.”
Stam himself opened up on the transfer in his autobiography, saying: “I soon realised the club wanted to get rid of me. They also needed the money.
“Very soon the book became an issue again. It led to a conflict between me and the manager.
“He told me that I had to be transferred. Then he said, ‘Will you please move to Lazio quickly?’ I agreed to do it. Right there and then.

“One quick conversation in my car at a petrol station in Manchester was enough for me to leave that big club.
“When I think about it now, and I have never talked about it before, I find it unbelievable I let that, as a player, happen to me.” More
