In a scathing attack on Martial, Sherwood incredibly fumed “he just annoys me looking at him, his miserable face.”
The United forward has struggled with a number of injuries this season, starting just seven Premier League games.
He was also forced off during the Europa League defeat to Sevilla in midweek after picking up a fresh knock.
While Sherwood believes Martial has the ability to be a star, the ex-Prem manager hit out at the Frenchman’s attitude.

He blasted on Sky Sports: “They’re crying out for a centre-forward Jeff [Stelling], crying out for it.
“Martial drives me mad. If I was a manager. He just annoys me looking at him, his miserable face.

“He don’t want to run around. You’re playing for the biggest club in the world, I’ve just said it, just enjoy it.
“You’re back in the team, you’ve got the ability, but you’re not fulfilling your ability.”

Sherwood went on to praise January loan signing Wout Weghorst for his work rate, but said it’s “unbelievable” that the Dutch striker is playing for United.
He said: “And Weghorst is completely different. [He] wants to be there, [he’s] loving the fact that he’s got an opportunity.
“It’s unbelievable that he should be at that football club, but he’s there and he’s relishing the chance.
“And he leaves nothing [out] on the pitch. If you could give his attitude to Martial you’ve got half a player.
“They need a centre-forward and they need one quick for next season.”
United are reportedly planning a huge summer clearout, and Martial is one of up to a possible 17 players who could leave.
Signing a striker is high on the list of priorities for boss Ten Hag in the upcoming transfer window.
Napoli sensation Victor Osimhen and Tottenham talisman Harry Kane are two marksman reportedly being monitored by the Red Devils. More

Pochettino, 51, has emerged as the leading candidate to take over the managerial vacancy at Chelsea following the withdrawal of front runner Julian Nagelsmann yesterday.
According to The Telegraph Pochettino now tops a three man shortlist which surprisingly also contains Burnley’s Vincent Kompany and an unnamed candidate who is reportedly liked and respected by Chelsea.
Whilst the identity of the unnamed candidate hasn’t been revealed Feyenoord’s Arne Slot is a coach the Blues have conducted thorough research on.
The 51-year-old has held more than one round of talks with the Chelsea hierarchy and was interviewed in September before the club opted for Graham Potter instead.

Tuchel isn’t the only coach who has gone on to achieve success after managing PSG.
Former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has won the Champions League twice with Real Madrid since being sacked by the French giants.
Unai Emery has also achieved European success since leaving the French capital as he guided Villareal to Europa League glory and is now flying with Aston Villa on his return to the Premier League.
The report adds that it’s not seen as an issue that the 51 year old hasn’t won a trophy in England and Chelsea feel this could act as extra motivation if he were to accept the job.
Chelsea are next in action on Wednesday night against Brentford at Stamford Bridge with Frank Lampard looking for his first win since returning as caretaker manager. More

Fans share ominous similarity between Arsenal’s crumbling title bid and Liverpool’s famous slip in 2014

FANS have spotted an interesting parallel between Arsenal’s faltering title bid and Liverpool’s collapse in 2014. A wild game at the Emirates saw Arsenal score two late goals to salvage a 3-3 draw against basement club Southampton.
The Arsenal players got together to take stock after a shocking opening 15 minutes against SouthamptonCredit: Getty
But they have now dropped points in each of their last three matches and are at risk of being caught by rampant Manchester City.
If Arsenal fail to win the title from what was a commanding position, they risk going down as one of the Premier League’s nearly-men like Liverpool in 2014.
The Reds similarly strung together an unexpected title bid against Man City under Brendan Rodgers before unravelling in spectacular fashion in the final few games.
Fans drew parallels last night as Arsenal went 2-0 down.

Oleksandr Zinchenko gathered his teammates for an impromptu huddle after Theo Walcott scored against his former club.
And eagle-eyed viewers saw an ominous similarity between that moment and Steven Gerrard’s now famous huddle after Liverpool beat Man City in April 2014.
The Reds saw off their title rivals in a pulsating game before the Liverpool captain told the assembled squad: “Hey, this does not f***ing slip now. This does not f***ing slip.”
Gerrard would then literally slip two weeks later to give the ball away to Demba Ba as Chelsea won at Anfield.

In Liverpool’s desperation to close the goal difference between themselves and City, they would go on to throw away a 3-0 lead at Crystal Palace in the final nail to their title hopes.
Reflecting on Zinchenko’s huddle, one fan wrote on Twitter: “Pretending like you’ve got it under control looks so much different from actually having it under control.
“Remember when Gerrard did the huddle?”
Arsenal will be praying that the moment does not prove to an omen in their own pursuit of the Premier League.
The Gunners, who last won the crown in 2004, led the way for most of the season but have begun tripping over themselves.
They threw away a 2-0 lead at Liverpool before doing the same against West Ham.
Last night’s draw means they now have a five point lead over Man City and face Pep Guardiola’s side next.

The Gunners suffered a blow to their title aspirations despite their late comeback to earn a 3-3 draw at home to Southampton last night.
But even though they were left frustrated, that result at least moved them 22 points clear of managerless Spurs – meaning that their foes are no longer able to catch them this term.
Even if Tottenham win all of their remaining seven games, they will still only finish on 74 points, with Arsenal currently on 75.
St Totteringham’s Day was a concept created by Gooners in 2002 on fan website “Arseweb” but did not become well-known until around eight years later.

Arsenal ended up overtaking Spurs to finish second after their 4-0 win in the final game of the season against Aston Villa in 2016.
Coincidently, that was also current manager Mikel Arteta’s final campaign as a player.

But since then it has been Spurs supporters that have had the bragging rights – until now.
And despite the frustrating draw last night, Arsenal fans have still been relishing the fact that they will finish above their rivals on Twitter.
