He could still move to the Premier League this summer, however, with Spurs keen.
The North Londoners are believed to have been turned down by Nagelsmann immediately after Antonio Conte’s sacking.
But after some time off following his Bayern axe, Nagelsmann could yet be tempted by a move to Tottenham at the end of the season.
According to Bild, Nagelsmann “would accept” an offer to become Spurs’ next boss.

Should Tottenham swoop for the 35-year-old, Bayern Munich could be due compensation, despite sacking him for Thomas Tuchel.
This matter shouldn’t an issue, however, as Spurs moving for Nagelsmann would save Bayern from having to pay his £6million a year salary.
The Tottenham job is now claimed to be Nagelsmann’s “focus”.
In addition to the former Bayern and RB Leipzig boss, Spurs have also been linked with Vincent Kompany, Arne Slot and Luis Enrique.

Shocking stat shows why Man Utd must not give De Gea a new contract after calamitous performance vs Sevilla

De Gea was at fault for all three goals on Thursday at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
For the first goal, the goalkeeper and Harry Maguire got into a mix-up, which allowed Youssef En-Nesyri to open the scoring after just eight minutes.
The Spain international was then beaten by a looping header from Loic Bade just after the second half started, in which TV pundit Robbie Savage claimed he could have done better.
The 32-year-old then followed this up with some bad control allowing En-Nesyri to net his second of the game in the 92nd minute.

This comes amid ongoing contract talks between De Gea and United, with the Spaniard’s deal running out in June.
Reports suggest the two parties have agreed on a new four-year deal that includes a major pay cut.
But there’s also a catch in the agreement as it involves highly-incentivised terms for the keeper.
However, shocking stats reveal no Premier League player has made more mistakes leading to a goal across all competitions than De Gea.

I played just one half of football for Tottenham – getting promoted out of League Two was a bigger achievement

KEVIN DEARDEN ranks his League Two promotion with Torquay United over his Premier League debut with Tottenham Hotsppur. The goalkeeper came through the ranks at White Hart Lane in the early 1990s.
Kevin Dearden played one games for Tottenham’s first teamCredit: Getty
He found himself initially stuck behind his hero Ray Clemence – before Erik “The Viking” Thorstvedt and Bobby Mimms came along.
Dearden was around the first team squad at Spurs but wasn’t handed an opportunity… until an injury to Thorstvedt during a clash with Nottingham Forest during the 1992-93 season saw his number called.
Speaking to Planet Football, Dearden recounted: “I’d been there a long time, I was 22, I felt that I was ready – I’d been on loan, I’d played in League One, League Two and the Championship with Hull.
“I was on the bench, I obviously I didn’t wish anyone any injury, but I felt I was ready if called upon.

“Erik dived at the base of the post, he fractured his finger or his thumb, and at half-time I was told I was on.
“I didn’t have much time to think about it, I just went out and it means I didn’t take in the enormity of it.
“We were losing 2-1 at half-time and that was the result in the end, so I always tell everyone that I never let a goal in in the Premier League!”
Despite a promising debut, Dearden would never play for Spurs again.

He continued: “The next game I was on the bench against Oldham at home, and they were a bottom four or five team, and I thought if I was to ever start a game for Spurs this was it.
“But they brought Ian Walker back in and that told me the writing was on the wall. I knew then my time was up and it was just a case then of where to, really.”
After just one Spurs appearance and nine loans away from White Hart Lane, Dearden finally left permanently.
He moved to Brentford, where he would get his wish of regular first-team football – playing over 200 times in six years.
Following two subsequent seasons with Wrexham he moved on to Torquay – where he would enjoy the highlight of his career.
Dearden added: “The year we got promoted with Torquay from League Two to League One I look back on more fondly. I felt I achieved something with a group of players.
“The budget was minuscule, we had a skeleton squad, but we had a togetherness and a team ethic which was second-to-none.
“For Torquay to get promoted that season was unbelievable and we almost stayed up the following year. I look on that more fondly than the Spurs game, as it seems a very, very long time ago now.”

Having earned his coaching badges while still a player, Dearden moved seamlessly into his new career after hanging up his boots in 2006.
Now 53, he works as a goalkeeping coach with hometown club Luton, having also done the same job at Brentford, Millwall and Leyton Orient.

Zinchenko’s ‘not a brilliant defender’ who ‘went to sleep’ for Saints goal – it’s not the first time says Arsenal legend

ARSENAL legend Lee Dixon has praised Oleksandr Zinchenko on the ball but claimed the Gunners star is “not a brilliant defender”.Zinchenko has been superb for Mikel Arteta’s side since arriving from Manchester City last summer.

But Dixon, 59, has criticised the Ukrainian star for his defensive capabilities.
Former left-back Dixon claimed Zinchenko was at fault for Duje Caleta-Car’s goal in Arsenal’s 3-3 draw with Southampton on Friday.
He told Premier League Productions: “Look at Zinchenko for Southampton’s third goal.
“He’s got his man, he’s looking at his man, he’s got his arm in the air and then he just goes to sleep.”

Dixon praised Zinchenko for what he does on the ball, but suggested his game does have weaknesses.
The ex-Arsenal star went on to point out Zinchenko’s role in Liverpool’s equaliser during the recent 2-2 draw at Anfield, where Trent Alexander-Arnold nutmegged him before crossing in for Roberto Firmino to head home.
Dixon continued on Zinchenko: “He’s not a brilliant defender. He’s brilliant on the ball and Arsenal use him to their strengths with the ball.
“But without the ball, we saw him play a role in Liverpool’s equaliser at Anfield and again today.

“He’s got to be alive as a defender, whether you sometimes go into midfield or not. It’s your job to keep the ball out of the back of the net.”
Zinchenko has played 30 times for the Gunners in all competitions this season, scoring once and providing two assists.
But Friday’s draw against the Saints, which was a third in a row for Arteta’s side, was a huge dent to Arsenal’s Premier League title bid.
The Gunners return to action with a mammoth clash against Manchester City on Wednesday, and Dixon now has Pep Guardiola and Co as favourites for the title.
He said: “Man City are obviously favourites now, but Arsenal have still got that game at the Etihad and this team are capable of beating Man City, we know that.
“You would expect City to have a bit too much for them but we’ll see.” More

Leicester 2 Wolves 1: Castagne the hero as Foxes get first win under Dean Smith with midlands derby comeback

DEAN SMITH’S Leicester snatched a crucial win on his home debut – just in the nick of Tim!Belgian defender Timothy Castagne rode to the rescue from his right-back position with 15 minutes remaining to seize three precious points with only his second strike of the season.
Timothy Castagne celebrates his winnerCredit: PA
But it could turn out to be his finest moment in a blue shirt if it sparks life back into the Foxes who frantically clawed themselves out of the relegation zone on goal difference at Everton’s expense.
It was just the kind of backs-to-the-wall performance Leicester’s pessimistic fans needed to restore their faith in their team after last week’s encouraging second-half improvement against Manchester City.
But boy did they do it the hard way as they came from behind to scrap their way to the tightest of derby wins.
Wolves hit the front through Matheus Cunha and looked to be well on course for the win they needed to steady any relegation nerves.
But Kelechi Iheanacho slotted home a penalty before Castagne pounced to slam Victor Kristiansen’s low cutback beyond Jose Sa to spark wild scenes of celebration.
With a trip to relegation rivals Leeds on Tuesday, followed by a Monday night home clash with the Toffees, survival is very much in their own hands now.
And Smith rightly celebrated with his backroom team as he gave every one of his players a pat on the back as they exited to racuous applause.
However it wouldn’t be Leicester if they didn;t produce a few heart-stopping moments at the end.
Daniel Iversen brilliantly pawed a netbound Ruben Neves free kick over, before the home fans were made to suffer an anxious wait while VAR confirmed Wout Faes had not handled in the box under pressure from Craig Dawson.
Foxes chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top,’ Srivaddhanaprabha was present to welcome his new management team of Smith, Craig Shakespeare and John Terry to their first home game in charge.
But it only took 13 minutes for Wolves to whip the ‘Welcome,’ mat from under the new arrivals’ feet as they cashed in on yet another costly individual defensive error.
It came from the one class act Smith was relying on to step up to the plate in the absence of Leicester’s midfield talisman James Maddison.
The Foxes’ best player had taken ill and was in no fit state to try and single-handedly save his side’s season as he was convinced to his sick-bed.
So the last man Leicester needed to malfunction was Youri Tielemans, the Belgian World Cup star who was handed the captain’s armband, in Maddison’s absence.
Unfortunately for Tielemans he became captain calamity as Mario Lemina successfully read Wout Faes’ rolling pass to his countryman and Tielemans first touch opened the door ajar.
Lemina’s eyes lit up as he pounced to bundle the Belgian aside and nicked the ball which he swiftly moved on to Matheus Cunha.
And the Brazilian striker took two touches before lashing the ball low past Daniel Iversen who had been left hopelessly exposed and was powerless to prevent the ball hitting his net.
It was a disastrous start for the Foxes who were being hunted down by Julen Lopetegui’s pack of snarling Wolves.
Pablo Sarabia had a shot blocked by Caglar Soyuncu before Craig Dawson saw his first time shot from the renound deflected for a corner.
Leicester were on the ropes but they gradually regained their composure and it was their oldest Fox, Jamie Vardy, who threw them a lifeline after 34 minutes when he earned his side a penalty.
Dean Smith’s boom-or-bust decision to play with three strikers, Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka suddenly paid out a welcome dividend.
Iheanacho, operating at the heart of a trio of attackers behind Vardy, threaded an inch perfect pass to coincide with Vardy’s diagonal run.
Jose Sa was tempted off his line and we all knew what the outcome would be when Vardy got to the ball first and poked it beyond him.
CASINO SPECIAL – BEST ONLINE CASINOS FOR 2023
The Portuguese keeper’s studs came down on Vardy’s foot and the old boy toppled to the turf as ref Andy Madley pointed to the spot and booked Sa.
It took three nerve-shredding minutes to treat Vardy as Iheanacho stood, ball under his arm, chewing gum nonchalantly as if he didn’t have a care in the world.
And the Nigerian backed up the bravado when he took a stuttering run before cooly waiting for Sa to make his move, then rolling the ball into the Wolves net for his fifth goal of the season.
Suddenly it was Wolves’ turn to wobble as they were forced back after the break and Leicester’s pressure paid off when Castagne put them to the sword with his late winner.
