Chelsea stars Thiago Silva and Chilwell have blazing row after Arsenal goal as Blues capitulate in horror first-half

THIAGO SILVA and Ben Chilwell were spotted rowing with each other as Chelsea capitulated in the first half against Arsenal. The Blues were already 1-0 down thanks to a super strike from Gunners captain Martin Odegaard on 18 minutes.

But the Norwiegen doubled his tally and Chelsea’s misery on the half hour mark as he struck past Kepa Arrizabalaga again.
A ball came into penalty box and Odegaard latched onto it and fired home to make it 2-0.
As Arsenal’s title-chasing side wheeled off in celebration, it was civil war between Chelsea’s struggling squad.
Defenders Silva and Chilwell were seen exchanging words in a heated argument in which Enzo Fernandez found himself also involved in.

And it about summed up the state of the club on the field.
One fan said: “Silva and Chilwell having a fall out after the goal, just sums up the mood right now…
“We won’t win another game all season.”
Another added: “Enzo, Thiago Silva and Chilwell arguing after that goal. Whole club’s a mess.”

One agreed: “There is no communication. Chilwell and Silva were having a fight.”

It only went from bad to worse before the break as Gabriel Jesus capitalised on some calamitous defending to make it 3-0.
A ball came into the box, which Cesar Azpilicueta failed to defend, leaving Jesus to pick up the loose ends and hammer home.
Noni Madueke did pull one back in the second half but it proved too little too late as Chelsea sunk to their SIXTH straight loss.

The social media post – where users are prompted to take a photo with their front and rear camera simultaneously whatever their view – showed Grealish on the treatment table.
He posed with a selfie as the main image showed him getting a leg and foot massage from one of the City medical team.
But his photo inadvertently gave away Pep Guardiola’s motives for the reigning Premier League champions.
On the far right of the photo, Grealish had managed to include two posters pinned up to a pillar.

The words above both images read “our goal” with pics of the Champions League and Premier League trophies.
And after some fans highlighted the blunder, plenty more we quick to insist the goals are hardly surprising.

And a third added: “I’m surprised a football club has a goal to win trophies.”
City are looking on course to defend their Premier League title and win it for the fifth time in six seasons – victory over West Ham tomorrow will further boost their chances.
And the club are desperate to end their long wait to be crowned European champions.
They face Real Madrid in the semi-finals knowing if they can get past the 14-time winners, they will face AC Milan or Inter Milan in the final.
City are still on for the Treble with rivals Manchester United waiting in the FA Cup final on June 3 – and there may well be another poster with the famous trophy elsewhere.
And Grealish has played a key role in another successful season for the Etihad side.
Since the World Cup, he has scored four and assisted nine goals, eventually finding his best form 18 months on from his record-breaking transfer from Aston Villa.
And after last week’s crunch win over Arsenal, Grealish posted a celebratory pic on his BeReal with Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias. More

Ireland, 36, spent five seasons in Man City’s first team from 2005 to 2010.
He was named the club’s Player of the Season in 2009 – the first season after the Sky Blues had been taken over by Sheikh Mansour.
But he departed just 12 months later, signing for Aston Villa before going on to feature for Newcastle and Stoke.
Yet despite his lack of pedigree compared to Liverpool icon Gerrard and Chelsea’s all-time top scorer Lampard, he still feels he outperformed them every time they shared the same pitch.

“Steven Gerrard for example, Frank Lampard, every time I played against them I’ve got the better of them.

And former England head coach Allardyce, 68, is reportedly set to be unveiled as their new manager on Wednesday.
He faces a tough task to keep Leeds above the relegation zone as only goal difference is keeping them out of the bottom three.
They also have an incredibly difficult run-in.
A trip to table toppers Manchester City on Saturday is followed up by a home game against third-place Newcastle.

They then travel to London for their penultimate fixture of the campaign against West Ham.
And if they are still in a relegation battle come the final day then they will have to try and get something from Tottenham at Elland Road.
But Allardyce will be EXTREMELY well compensated if he keeps the club in the top flight.
According to The Times, he will receive £3MILLION for helping Leeds survive.

He will earn a basic salary of £500,000 and a bonus of more than £2.5m if he keeps Leeds up.
That sum, for less than a month’s work, would technically make him the best-paid manager in world football, eclipsing the £2.48m per month that Diego Simeone earns at Atletico Madrid.
But Allardyce is going to have to try and steer Leeds to safety without trusty assistant Sammy Lee.
Lee, 64, has been Allardyce’s right-hand man at several clubs in the past.
But he cannot join him at Elland Road because he is on jury service.
Instead, Allardyce has asked ex-MK Dons and Oxford United manager Karl Robinson to be his assistant. More

Jurgen Klopp CHARGED by FA over ref rant and Tottenham antics as Liverpool boss ‘faces long ban’

JURGEN KLOPP has been charged by the FA after his verbal attack on ref Paul Tierney. The Liverpool boss faces a heavy fine and touchline ban for accusing Tierney of having an agenda against the Reds on Sunday.

An FA spokesperson said: “Liverpool FC’s Jurgen Klopp has been charged following their Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday 30 April.
“It is alleged that the manager’s comments regarding the match official during post-match media interviews constitutes improper conduct in that they imply bias, and/or question the integrity of the referee, and/or are personal/offensive, and/or bring the game into disrepute.
“Jurgen Klopp has until Friday 5 May to provide a response.”
Klopp’s blast against Tierney came after Liverpool’s dramatic 4-3 win over Tottenham on Sunday.

Klopp went before the Sky cameras to claim: “We have our history with Tierney, I really don’t know what he has against us.
“He has said there [are] no problems but that cannot be true.”
The German was earlier booked for celebrating Diogo Jota’s winner by steaming up to fourth official John Brooks.
And he was left fuming by a touchline interaction with Tierney, later telling reporters: “Paul Tierney came over to me, I didn’t expect for a second a red card, and he said: ‘For me it’s a red card but because of him (the fourth official) it’s a yellow’.”

Klopp’s comments prompted a strongly-worded reaction from the PGMOL, who said: “PGMOL is aware of the comments made by Jurgen Klopp after his side’s fixture with Tottenham Hotspur.
“Match officials in the Premier League are recorded in all games via a communications system.
“Having fully reviewed the audio of referee Paul Tierney from today’s fixture, we can confirm he acted in a professional manner throughout including when issuing the caution to the Liverpool manager.
“So, therefore, we strongly refute any suggestion that Tierney’s actions were improper.”
Klopp has since admitted his temper got the better of him in the exchange and revealed he expected to land a reprimand as a consequence of his actions.
He added: “I know Paul Tierney is not doing this on purpose, absolutely not, but we have this history. It hasn’t happened intentionally but it’s still there.
“I really regret the headlines I created. I have no clue what happens now. We haven’t heard anything yet.
“I probably have to expect a punishment. The red card I got against City was in the same spot, foul against the same player, Mo Salah.”
Klopp was left fuming after a heated interaction with TierneyCredit: Reuters
Spurs boss Ryan Mason also blasted Tierney following the gamesCredit: Alamy
Should Klopp be punished, he is likely to be hit with a fine and touchline ban by the FA.
Jose Mourinho’s half-time attack on Jonathan Moss in Chelsea’s 2015 2-1 defeat at West Ham landed him with a one-match stadium ban and £40,000 fine.
And Klopp is likely to already be feeling worse for wear after injuring his hamstring while celebrating Liverpool’s controversial winner.
Klopp wasn’t the only manager left fuming with Tierney on Sunday, with Spurs caretaker Ryan Mason blasting the official for not sending off match-winner Jota for catching Oliver Skipp in the head with his boots.
Mason said: “It’s one of the clearest red cards I’ve seen, it’s difficult to take. It’s an impossible one to miss.
“When you talk about endangering an opponent, to draw blood from a stud when Skipp’s head is five-and-a-half feet in the air baffles me.
“That type of decision is maybe the difference between winning the game or not.
“It’s tough to understand and I would like an explanation.
“I saw the incident in real time and you have a feel for those sort of moments. The VAR official has the benefit of a replay.
“I would like an explanation and a reason why it wasn’t [a red card].
“I can understand referees and officials on the pitch missing it even though my feeling was an instant red card because when your foot is studs showing and you’re five-and-a-half feet off the ground and make contact with a player’s head and draw blood, and there is a gash, I think it ticks all the boxes.
“Probably more so an experienced referee in the VAR room, you want him to help the official on the pitch in that moment.

“Listen, it’s decided the game because that player on the pitch shouldn’t have been on there at the end.
“I’m pretty sure most football people’s opinions will probably feel the same.” More

Diogo Jota’s stoppage-time winner handed the Reds all three points, just seconds after they had their 3-0 lead wiped out.
But there were still several negatives for Klopp to mull over in the wake of the win.
And one of those was the mistake by centre-back Van Dijk, 31, for Tottenham’s opening goal.
Ivan Perisic was found on the left channel and as he shaped to take on the Dutchman, Van Dijk fell over in comical fashion.

Perisic then crossed to Harry Kane who fired home.

And a third replied: “Maguire catching stray bullets every time 😭😭😭😹😹😹.”

Ian Wright lifts lid on Arsenal transfer strategy as he reveals Edu ‘is very confident of signing high calibre player’

ARSENAL are quietly confident about their chances of making a marquee signing this summer, Ian Wright has revealed. The Gunners are, baring an incredible continued dip in form, set to end the season in second place – although they’re still very much in with a chance of lifting their first Premier League title in nearly 20 years.

Gunners legend Ian Wright has claimed Edu is confident of bringing a massive name to the Emirates in the summerCredit: GETTY
The success of Mikel Arteta’s troops on the pitch can be attributed to the acquisitions sporting director Edu has helped facilitate in recent years.
That fact isn’t lost on club legend Wright, who says the Brazilian believes the North Londoners will lure a big name to the Emirates this summer.
Arsenal’s former all-time leading goalscorer told The Athletic: “I went to the training ground the other day and I was with Edu and Mikel.
“And what’s happening now at the club is we’re not having to go out and cajole other people to come and join Arsenal.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
“They can see what we’re doing.
“Edu is saying his phone is ringing off the hook and they’re very confident about the calibre of player they’re going to sign.”
Arsenal find themselves second in the table and a point behind defending champions Manchester City after throwing away NINE points from an available 12 in their last four outings.
And although the pendulum has swung in favour of the Citizens, Wright believes the mentality of this current crop of Arsenal stars will see them refuse to concede the title race.

He said: “If you’re going to challenge this City team, you’re going to have to come correct.
“Ideally, we want to finish as high as we can — we want to win it — but I’m excited about the next phase.
“When you speak to Edu and Mikel, everything is about winning, man. They just want to win.
“And even with some of those games we drew it’s only because we were trying to win. It’s a new mentality.
“We’re trying to win games, we’re not trying to sit off and say, ‘Let’s hold onto this.'”
Arsenal will bid to leapfrog City – who have a game in on them – to the summit of the table later this evening when they welcome struggling London rivals Chelsea to the Emirates. More
