Richards, 34, was caught last August 3 on the B6165 near Knaresborough in North Yorkshire – a short 20-minute drive from his home in the village of Nidd.
And he has now pleaded guilty before Harrogate magistrates to one count of speeding – receiving a £666 fine, but also told to pay a £266 victim surcharge and £90 court costs, making a total £1,022.
Rolls-Royce driver Richards also had three penalty points added to his licence.
The Birmingham-born ex-international, who grew up in the Leeds suburb of Chapeltown, previously revealed how he was frequently pulled over by cops when returning to the city.

He has also spoken out about the racism his family suffered when he was growing up in West Yorkshire.
Since leaving life as top-flight footballer and retiring in 2019, Richards has been dubbed “Mr Monopoly” by friends after amassing a multi-million-pound property empire.
He regularly appears on BBC1’s weekly Match Of The Day football highlights programme as well as podcast shows alongside presenter Gary Lineker and fellow pundits such as Alan Shearer.
And when featuring on Sky and BT Sport he provides post-match analysis with the likes of former Manchester United and Republic of Ireland captain Roy Keane, Liverpool and Scotland’s Graeme Souness and Tottenham Hotspur and England legend Glenn Hoddle.

Richards was at City’s Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night as a CBS Sports analyst for his old club’s 4-0 triumph over Spain’s Real Madrid, winning 5-1 on aggregate to reach the UEFA Champions League final next month against Italy’s Internazionale who knocked out local rivals AC Milan.
Richards came through the youth ranks at Manchester City, helping them win the FA Cup in 2011 and the Premier League the following year, before later stints with Italian Serie A club Fiorentina and back in England with Aston Villa.
He scored one goal in 13 appearances for England and also played for the Team GB football side at the London 2012 Olympics.
Richards warned budding young footballers last December about the dangers of becoming rich overnight – telling of his lavish spending sprees after hitting the big time.
He recalled buying supercars such as a Ferrari F430 and a luxury mansion in the footballers’ paradise of Hale in Greater Manchester – as well as splashing out more than £100,000 on a single night out.

Man Utd bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe blasted as Arsenal legend claims Ineos ‘isn’t even capable of running Nice’

EMMANUEL PETIT has slammed Manchester United bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe as he claimed the billionaire’s company Ineos can’t “run Nice”.Ratcliffe is one of the few bidders with a chance of completing a takeover of the Red Devils from the Glazers.

However, his credentials have been called into question by the Arsenal legend.
Petit has claimed that Ratcliffe’s company Ineos is not even able to properly run Ligue 1 side Nice.
The retired star has suggested that the club has no “direction” and is in “total disagreement” over certain players’ contracts.
He told Foot01: “Since Ineos arrived in Nice, I don’t know who makes decisions.

“Where they want to go, what they want to do with Nice, especially since with MUFC behind us we don’t know if they’re going to pull out overnight.
    “That’s what puzzles me actually.
“A group like Ineos, which manages 17,000 people around the world and has a turnover of 80bn, is not even capable of managing a club like Nice and having a clear and defined strategy.
“When you take the best sporting director, Ghisolfi at Lens, who made miracles on the transfer market with three francs and six pennies.

“You see today that he is in total disagreement with what we are trying to impose on him concerning the extension of certain players like [Aaron] Ramsey.
“Who is making the decisions? Mr. Ratcliffe, Mr. Blanc, Mr. Rivère, whose silence has been deafening for the past few weeks regarding the affairs. He told us in February: You’ll see, we’ll give you the name of the future coach in February.
“It’s the end of May and we still don’t know what’s going to happen at Nice. The market coming up quickly. The direction that INEOS and OGC Nice want to take, I have no idea!”
Meanwhile, rival bidder Sheikh Jassim will reportedly turn his attention to another Premier League club if he fails to acquire Manchester United.
Sheikh Jassim reportedly wants to buy the club in its entirety.
But Ratcliffe is open to securing a majority stake with siblings Joel and Avram retaining a small share.
With the Brit supposedly leading the race, ESPN claim that Sheikh Jassim will attempt to buy Tottenham if he can’t get his hands on Man Utd. More

Brentford ready to step up £25m transfer chase for Coventry ace Viktor Gyokeres as Bees seek Ivan Toney replacement

BRENTFORD are reportedly prepared to “step up” their pursuit of Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres as they seek a replacement for banned talisman Ivan Toney.Toney, 27, was handed an eight-month ban by the FA on Wednesday after breaching gambling regulations.

It means he will miss their final two games of this season and the first four months of the 2023/24 campaign.
As a result, Brentford are expected to be on the lookout for a striker this summer.
And according to talkSPORT, Gyokeres is a leading target for Thomas Frank.
The Swedish forward, 24, has bagged 43 goals in 115 appearances for the Championship side.

And this season he has been in sensational form, netting 21 times in the second tier.
Gyokeres has inspired his side to the play-off final where they will take on Luton on May 27.
Coventry will be in a stronger negotiating position to keep him if they can secure promotion.
But either way, they are expected to demand at least £25million.

As well as Brentford, Wolves are also understood to be interested in the ex-Brighton man.
And the Seagulls would welcome the sale of Gyokeres as they inserted a sell-on clause into his transfer when he joined Coventry for £1m in 2021.
Meanwhile, Brentford sit ninth in the Premier League table with two games remaining.
Wins over Tottenham and Manchester City would given them an outside chance of securing European football next season. More

I’m a Luton star who helped the club gain promotion from the Conference and now I’m on the brink of the Premier League

LUTON’S rise through the football pyramid has been nothing short of staggering. From playing in the National League in 2013 to being on the doorstep of the Premier League a decade later, the Hatters’ rise is a football fairytale.

And one Luton star has been with the club every step of the way, that being midfield general Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu.
Mpanzu, 29, has been a keystone figure at the club and is now preparing for a dream day at Wembley as his side face off with Coventry in the most valuable game in football.
He initially joined the club on loan from West Ham in 2013 as a centre-half before sealing a permanent transfer at the end of the season having helped the club win the Conference with 101 points.
In the decade that has followed Mpanzu has moved into midfield and made 366 appearances for the club which has him on the verge of joining the ranks of Luton’s top 10 highest-ever appearance makers.

Following their semi-final victory over Sunderland, Mpanzu said in a video to fans: “We’ve got one more – see you at Wembley.”
Mpanzu’s rise even saw him called up to earn two International caps for Democratic Republic of the Congo, and his love for the club still clearly remains.
Upon sealing a contract extension in 2021, Mpanzu said: “I love it at Luton, everyone knows that.
“The Kenny has become my second home and we’ve achieved so much in my time here.”

Following promotion to the EFL, Luton stayed in League Two for four years, finally earning promotion to the third tier after coming second in the 2017/18 season.
However, Luton did not stay in League One for long, winning the league in their first season – losing just six games.
Their arrival in the Championship was understandably a huge challenge, with the Hatters only narrowly avoiding relegation in their first season.
Since then they have gone from strength to strength, steadily improving before earning a spot in the play-offs last season, though Huddersfield thwarted their dream last time out.
The Hatters have never played in the Prem having been relegated from the top flight in 1991/92, the year before the Premier League was introduced. More

They can be crowned Premier League winners with three points against Chelsea on Sunday.
And finals in the FA Cup and Champions League are yet to come as Manchester United and Inter Milan bid to thwart their treble ambitions.
Man City’s sensational end to the campaign comes after Neville debated the point earlier in the season that they were not at their very best.
Now they are firing on all cylinders, Conor Humm, a junior assistant producer at Sky Sports, has called Neville out regarding his comments.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
He said: “Gary Neville said Manchester City weren’t at their usual level this season.
“They’re about to surpass his club’s greatest ever season and do it in a far more impressive way.”
A startled Neville replied on Thursday morning, saying: “You okay? They weren’t at their usual level. What a weird point to make.
“Tag me in by the way if you work at Sky. Don’t be shy.”

Humm then made the decision to delete his account.
This led to another Twitter user calling out the Man Utd legend, saying: “Gary Neville biting back at 5:38am from a tweet he wasn’t even tagged in and mentioning Connor’s place of work is pretty wild.”
But Neville did not back down as he responded: “Biting 😂 (really). Wild 😂 (hardly). 5.38 😂 (it’s when I get up). It came up on my for you function! As did your reply!!
“If he works at Sky then tag me in. Easy for people to have a little dig at me but not ok for me to go back?”
During the second half of the season, Neville has repeatedly backed Man City to catch Arsenal and win the Premier League title.
And they are now champions in waiting as they look to wrap up the league at the Etihad this weekend.
Last month, Neville admitted he was fearing a Man City treble.
He said: “They’re purring, they’re playing well, they’re in great form, they’re serious now about it [the treble].” More
