Bayer Leverkusen are said to be on the verge of signing him in a £15million transfer.

To a question saying Xhaka was off, he responded: “You know that? It’s news for me.”

Man City star joins exclusive group of winning TWO titles in one season after shock final day results

After Man City managed to reel in Arsenal they clinched the Premier League title for a third successive year.
Cancelo appeared in 17 Premier League games before his January exit which qualifies him for a medal as he has passed the threshold of five.
After swapping Manchester for Munich, Cancelo played in 15 Bundesliga games which is thought to qualify him for a medal there too.
Bayern had not been the dominant force in German football for most of this season.

But under Thomas Tuchel, the Bavarians managed to clinch the title after a dramatic final day.
Borussia Dortmund were ahead going into the final fixture, but could only draw, meaning Bayern’s win saw them win the league.
Cancelo’s achievement is incredible, but he isn’t be the first Premier League star to do it.
Daniel Amartey completed the feat in the 2015-16 season as he won the Danish Superliga with FC Copenhagen and the Premier League with Leicester City.

The midfielder played 15 times for the Danish side before his January move to the Foxes, where he made five appearances in the league to secure his medal and his own part of the club’s underdog story.

He flew back to Denmark after winning the Premier League to collect his medal and celebrate with his former team-mates.
Goncalo Guedes almost completed the feat when he joined PSG in 2017 from Benfica.
His former side went on to win the Portuguese league, but PSG were pipped to the Ligue 1 title by Monaco.
Kingsley Coman has a claim to be in the club as he won the Bundesliga title in 2015-16 after starting the season at Serie A side Juventus.
The Italian giants won the league that season, but Coman only played in one game and therefore would not have qualified for a medal.
David Beckham would also have a shout to be in the group as he won the MLS Cup and the Ligue 1 title with PSG during his stint in the 2012/13 season.
Cancelo’s time at Bayern appears to be at an end as the club are not expected to exercise their option to buy him this summer.
This has opened the door to Arsenal, with the club reportedly keen to add the defender to their roster of former Manchester City players.

The September 7 clash is the first meeting between the countries at senior men’s level.
Ex-Spurs forward Jurgen Klinsmann was appointed Son’s national team manager in February, just months after South Korea reached the last 16 of the World Cup in Qatar.
The friendly is four days before Wales travel to Latvia in a Euro 2024 qualifier.
Football Association of Wales chief executive Noel Mooney said: “Many teams are tied up in Europe with qualifiers and it’s not always easy to get strong opposition during the few occasions we get the chance to play friendlies.

“So to have the likes of Son Heung-min – Ben Davies’ teammate at Spurs – and many other high quality players coming to Cardiff is great for us.
“They had a really good World Cup getting to the knockout stage and it’s important we keep testing ourselves against different styles of football.
“South Korea offers us a really interesting chance to do that, and I’m sure we’ll have another great crowd to cheer on Cymru before the ‘Red Wall’ head for Riga a few days later.”
Wales manager Rob Page announces his squad on Tuesday for next month’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Armenia and Turkey and Aaron Ramsey is confident he will be fit to lead his country.
    Most read in Football
The Dragons captain, 32, has not played for club side Nice since May 6 after sustaining calf fatigue.
Ramsey missed Saturday’s Ligue 1 clash with Montpellier – the third successive league game the ex-Arsenal midfielder has sat out.
But SunSport understands Ramsey will be named in Page’s squad for the Group D double-header in June.
Nice coach Didier Digard said this week he will take no risks over Ramsey’s fitness with the former Juventus ace having a history of injury problems.
Despite that long running battle with injuries, Ramsey, who replaced the retired Gareth Bale as Wales captain in March, has managed to play 39 times for club and country this season.
But Digard’s cautious approach could see Rambo, who was pictured with F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell at the Monaco GP last Thursday, not even feature against Lyon in Nice’s final league match of the season on June 3.
Wales head to Portugal for a warm weather training camp on June 8 to prepare for the home clash with Armenia on June 16.
Then Page’s side, who collected four points from their opening two qualifiers in March, travel to Turkey three days later.

The result subsequently saw both Leicester and Leeds drop down to the Championship.
But Everton fans believe a pivotal moment from earlier this month confirmed the club’s fate weeks before the final day.
On May 1, the Toffees faced Leicester in a huge relegation clash at the King Power Stadium.
The final score was 2-2, but Pickford prevented the Foxes from claiming all three points with an excellent penalty save.

While a third wrote: “Jordan Pickford’s WATER BOTTLE has kept us in the f****** league!”
Leicester claimed a 2-1 win over West Ham on the final day of the season, but the result was not enough to lift them out of the drop zone.
The Foxes finished 18th in the table, two points adrift of Everton.
Meanwhile, Leeds were subjected to a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham at Elland Road.
After the match, the home fans turned on their players in frustration once the club’s return to the Championship was confirmed.
Forward Georginio Rutter threw his shirt into the crowd as he and his team-mates attempted to applaud the supporters.
However, one fan caught it and threw it straight back onto the pitch, where it stood lying on the ground as the Frenchman retreated to the dressing room. More

New Man Utd home kit ‘leaked’ as fuming fans complain of ‘newly-promoted vibes’ after shirt ‘spotted in NYC store’

THE new Manchester United home kit has reportedly been leaked. An advertising poster claimed to have been spotted at an adidas store in New York has been circulated online.

But fans are divided on the rumoured new design – with some blasting it as having “newly-promoted vibes”.
The image shows left-back Luke Shaw wearing the so-called new kit – which comes a month after a different home shirt was seemingly leaked.
It features the traditional red base with various subtle lines forming the design across the jersey.
The kit is completed by the United badge, the new adidas logo, black trim including the three stripes and a nice simple neck.

There is also a large TeamViewer sponsorship on the front of the kit – although it remains to be seen whether the tech company will retain their spot on the United shirts.
The German brand terminated their £235million deal in December, citing a dramatic drop in their share price.
It is thought the confusion over the front-of-shirt sponsor has contributed to the delay in the Red Devils officially releasing their new kit.
Supporters flooded social media with their reaction to the possible strip for the 2023-24 season, which will see Erik ten Hag’s side back in the Champions League.

A fourth commented: “This is horrible.”
A fifth typed: “Gives serious newly-promoted club vibes. This kit would come 16th in a successful first season if it wasn’t United.”
And a final Twitter user simply put: “No from me.”

Fred has improved under Erik ten Hag but that is unlikely to prevent the United boss from trying to improve his midfield options in the summer.
West Ham captain Declan Rice has been heavily linked with a move but his £100million asking price could deter interest.
While his pal Mason Mount is another United target, though the club is yet to strike a deal with Chelsea over his transfer. More
