Manchester United target twin signings from City rivals – with a family twist for technical director Darren Fletcher

SCOTLAND legend Darren Fletcher is targeting a transfer raid for Manchester United – to sign his TWIN BOYS.Midfielder Fletch is now technical director at Old Trafford, but his sons have come through the academy system at rivals City.

They are approaching 17 next season – the age players can sign pro deals
Both Jack and Tyler are schoolboy internationals – and even faced one another in an Auld Enemy clash in February.
And while they could shift across town when eligible for pro terms, they could also unite for the national side with Tyler a target to join his sibling in the England camp.
But Fletcher’s role in this particular cross-city move is only as a supportive parent – despite his job.

The Athletic reports head of Academy Nick Cox is driving the deal and the Fletcher brothers ‘favoured taking their next step at United’ despite offers from a number of clubs on the table – including City.
It also ranks the pair as “among the most promising under-16 talents in the UK”.
Fletcher Senior was highly rated at that age himself.
Born in Dalkeith, he was swept south to United before he had reached his teens.

After signing pro terms with Sir Alex Ferguson aged 15 he went on to play more than 200 games over 12 years at the club.
He also picked up 80 Scotland caps and was made captain under Berti Vogts.
His boys were born south of the border but were initially called up by the SFA through their dad’s nationality.
England have also bid to include them in the Three Lions’ camps which led to the bizarre clash in February.
Tyler played for Scotland but Jack took the bragging rights with a 3-0 win for England.
They can still choose to switch but it’s not unusual for brothers to meet on the international scene – nor is it unusual for United players’ kids to grow up in the City system.
Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie did the same, while the likes of Jerome Boateng has faced his brother Kevin-Prince when Germany and Ghana met at the World Cup and Thiago Alcantara and Rafinha each opted for Spain and Brazil respectively.

And The Athletic say United asked City about a double deal last week.
The Manchester-born duo can’t turn pro until they are 17 next March.
But it’s claimed there’s already a queue of clubs looking to sign them.
They are said to favour United, where their ex-Scotland star dad is now technical director.

Like Fletcher senior, his sons are central midfielders.
So far they’ve progressed up the ranks with City.
In contrast, their 80-cap father Darren, 39, won the Premier League five times in 12 years with first club United and the Champions League in 2008.
One difference, though, is the choice his sons are making internationally.

The former footballer’s cousin, Jonathan, 23, also died in the accident – which occurred just outside Seville in Reyes’ home town of Utrera.
Another man suffered serious burns as Reyes’ car burst into flames.
And now Reyes’ family are reportedly suffering the financial impact of his death.
According to Spanish media, three properties owned by the ex-Spanish winger are set to go up for auction.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
Among them is his parents’ home – and they face eviction on June 26 by court order.
Diario AS have alleged this is because his family have not been able to pay the mortgages on the three properties.
Reyes’ parents, whose home is thought to be worth around £256,000, are in talks with lawyers as they insist they have been kept in the dark about the situation.
Another of the properties is worth approximately £128,000 – while the valuation of the third home is unknown.

Reyes did not have a will in place at the time of his death.
As a result, his wealth went to his three children, but as they were all minors it was passed on to his wife Noelia Lopez.
And Lopez, who has suffered a rift with Reyes’ family since his death, insists she had not been made aware of the financial difficulties.
She said: “I am finding out everything, and I am assimilating it.”
Reyes’ ex-partner went on to add: “I have always been on the sidelines of my husband’s financial affairs.”
Lopez now lives near her own family with the two daughters she had with Reyes.
Meanwhile, Reyes’ son joined Real Madrid’s academy shortly after his dad’s death four years ago. More
