Maddison shared his dislike of Gareth Bale in one tweet
He slammed Spurs in a since deleted post
But before finalising the move Maddison has been forced to go back through his old tweets and delete those bashing the club.
In two tweets from 2012 and 2013 the then 16-year-old Maddison had a pop at former Tottenham player Gareth Bale and revealed his dislike for the club.
The first tweet from 2012 read: “I hate Gareth Bale with a passion, calm down you monkey, [Jack] Wilshere is 10x better than you chimpanzee.”
And in another, from March 2013, Maddison posted: “Hope Luis Suarez destroys Tottenham today, don’t like Spurs! Especially that monkey everyone’s on about!”

Maddison was part of Coventry’s youth team at the time of the tweets, which re-surfaced thanks to eagle-eyed fans.
But they are no longer available on his account along with every other tweet before 2019.
The England international, 26, has agreed terms with Spurs worth an estimated £170,000 a week.
And Leicester have now caved on the transfer fee with Tottenham set to pay the Foxes £40m for Maddison’s services.

The two clubs are now believed to be finalising details on how the payment will be structured, as well as the add-ons involved.
Spurs have pushed through the move before July 1 to comply with FFP regulations.
The money behind this goes against last season’s Champions League and Prem pot. They of course failed to make Europe at all for the upcoming campaign.
He will become the second new face to arrive at the North Londoners this summer, following Tuesday’s signing of Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. More

Liberty Media, who also own the Atlanta Braves MLB franchise, bought F1 in 2017 for £6.3billion.
They have since seen the value of the sport increase dramatically, in part down to the success of Netflix’s Drive to Survive series.
Chief executive Greg Maffei has now confirmed that Liberty Media are looking to invest in a Premier League club.
He told the Walker Webcast: “I would dispute buying on the cheap.

“We like to buy for a fair price then hopefully build value.
“The demonstrated success of Formula One, we now have – credit them – a reputation in sports and others we have talked to, we can replicate that.
“You mention the Premier League teams; there isn’t an asset we haven’t looked at.
“That doesn’t mean we’ve been ready to buy them all but we look at everything because we do think sports in general is attractive, we do think there are upsides and do think those things that management teams have taught up can help apply perhaps in other sports situations.”

The news will likely have Liverpool on alert, with the club looking for investment.
Fenway Sports Group are open to a deal after appealing for new shareholders last year.
The Reds are looking to receive funding in order to continue the progress made under FSG’s ownership.
Owner John W. Henry told the Boston Sports Journal in February: “I know there has been a lot of conversation and quotes about LFC, but I keep to the facts: we merely formalised an ongoing process.
“Will we be in England forever? No. Are we selling LFC? No. Are [we] talking with investors about LFC? Yes. Will something happen there? I believe so, but it won’t be a sale. Have we sold anything in the past 20+ years?”

Brighton rejected a £70million bid from Arsenal for the 21-year-old in January before tying him down to a new long-term deal following the window.
Caicedo’s longer deal, and impressive performances since his plea to leave in January, means Chelsea will have to offer a package close to £100million to agree a deal.
Insiders at Stamford Bridge feel a deal is not close at this stage while Brighton are yet to receive a bid from any club.
Early talks between the player’s camp and interested parties have begun and been encouraging, though there are no agreements over personal terms in place with any club.

Manchester United are also keen on the Brighton star, with frustrations growing at Old Trafford over their pursuit of Chelsea’s Mason Mount.
The Blues have turned down three different bids from Manchester for the England midfielder.
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi admitted at the end of his record-breaking season on the south coast that star players were likely to leave.
He said: “I think it can be the last game of Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo.”

“I think it is right they can leave, change team and play at a higher level.”
World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister has already left for Liverpool in a deal which could reach £55million, and Caicedo is expected to be the next to leave so long as owner Tony Bloom’s valuation is met.
De Zerbi has added veteran midfielder James Milner and former Borussia Dortmund man Mahmoud Dahoud on free transfers as they look to replace the big names departing. More
