While he was quick to make an impact upon his arrival at the club, the American businessman also played cupid with his daughter and an employee.
Ashlyn Pace-Ferguson has revealed how her dad played matchmaker between her and her now-husband.
In a TikTok video, she explained: “At the start of the takeover, my parents moved from the US to Burnley while I was studying at Brigham Young University in Utah.
“One day, my dad sent me an email with a picture of a young British guy who was a member of our same church.

“The email said: ‘He works here at Burnley, his name is Joe and I think you should go on a date with him.'”
She added: “Then summer vacation came and my little sister and I came to visit Burnley FC for the first time.
“I spotted Joe in the office and I couldn’t even make eye contact, I thought he was so cute.
“Joe chased me down a stairwell to introduce himself and we spent the whole day and the next few days together, having dinner dates and going to football matches and church activities.

“We then realised that we wanted to take the leap and do long distance.
“Many months of Facetimes and Trans-Atlantic trips later, I decided I needed to move to Burnley.
“That decision eventually led us to getting engaged in the middle of the pitch at Turf Moor.
“And on August 19, 2022, we got married in Lancashire.”
The couple now live together in Lancashire.
Pace has been chairman of Burnley for almost three years.
Just over a year after his arrival, long-term Clarets manager Sean Dyche was sacked.
He was eventually replaced by Vincent Kompany, who led the club back to the Premier League at the end of last season. More

Nottingham Forest star Harry Toffolo charged with 375 alleged breaches of FA betting rules

NOTTINGHAM FOREST star Harry Toffolo has been charged with 375 alleged breaches of the FA’s betting rules. The charges date from between January 2014 and March 2017.

A statement from the FA reads: “Nottingham Forest’s Harry Toffolo has been charged with misconduct in relation to our betting rules.
“It’s alleged that the defender breached FA Rule E1 (b) 375 times between 22 January 2014 and 18 March 2017.
“Harry Toffolo has until Wednesday 19 July 2023 to provide his response.”
Toffolo was a Norwich City player at the time of the alleged offences, having come through the club’s academy.

He had several loan spells away from the Canaries before signing for Millwall in 2018.
The 27-year-old later had spells with Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town prior to joining Forest last summer.
Toffolo made 21 appearances across all competitions for Steve Cooper’s side in his debut campaign at the City Ground.
His alleged breaches come just months after Ivan Toney received an eight-month ban from the FA for betting.
    Most read in Football
Toney was charged with 262 counts between 2017 and 2021, with the FA subsequently withdrawing 30 of those breaches.
The Brentford striker had been set for a 15-month suspension before it was reduced after he pleaded guilty to the charges and was diagnosed as a gambling addict.
Wembley insiders explained that all such incidents are dealt with on a “case by case” basis and that there is not a standard fixed penalty.
Indeed, just last week, Port Vale’s Mitch Clark was banned for just three months and fined £600 after admitting placing 312 bets in a 13-month spell up to March, when he was on the books of Accrington.
Clark gained credit for contrition and agreeing at the very start of the process to take part in PFA education policies.
Toffolo, though, as a Premier League player, could face a heavier penalty, even if the alleged offences took place when he was playing in the lower reaches of the EFL and were between six and NINE years ago.

There is an ongoing goalkeeper crisis at Old Trafford due to Dean Henderson being injured, David De Gea leaving and no replacement yet being signed.
Therefore, experienced Tom Heaton starts, who has never featured in a competitive match for United.
The 37-year-old previously played for Burnley and Aston Villa.
Fans were left slightly confused by the line-up, one said: “I have no idea who’s playing ST.”
Others loved it: “Amad, Mainoo, Alvaro, Hannibal, Forson. I am excited to watch them play as well as Mount and Licha I missed seeing Licha play it’s been ages.”
Another was happy to see Man Utd return to the pitch: “Ten Hag ball is back.”
    Starting XI
It is only right that those players who took part in internationals are given extra time off but the line-up will have had some fans double checking Wikipedia.
    Goalkeeper
Not that this is expected to be a trial to take on the number one spot full-time for the Heaton, who is very much in reserve.
    Martinez is back
The good news is the return to action of Lisandro Martinez who has been out since last April when he got injured against Sevilla.
    Mount Debut
While there has been some frustration over the lack of acquisitions the Mason Mount deal did at least get over the line at £55million plus £5million add ons.
    Who is Forson?
Of all the lack of household names on the team sheet one that had even seasoned United watchers asking ‘who?’ was Omari Forson.

He began his career at Spurs and has also represented England at youth level and there are high hopes at United of him.

Chelsea fans just realising forgotten ace who hasn’t played in five-and-a-half years is now their longest serving player

CHELSEA fans are just realising that a forgotten star is now their longest serving player. It’s been a period of upheaval since Todd Boehly’s takeover last year with a number of players coming and going.

This summer alone 11 players have left the club – with the team also trying to ship out wantaway stars such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Romelu Lukaku.
And with Cesar Azpilicueta leaving the club after 11 years of service, Chelsea now have a surprise longest serving player in Ethan Ampadu.
The Chelsea academy graduate made his full debut in 2017 when he came off the bench in a Premier League game against Huddersfield.
Ampadu was just 16 at the time and was thought to be one of the next big things at Chelsea.
    READ MORE ON CHELSEA
Then manager Maurizio Sarri even dubbed the defender as “the future of Chelsea”.
Since his debut, Ampadu hasn’t featured again in the Premier League and has found himself regularly out on loan.
He last made an appearance for the Chelsea first team in 2018 and has since then enjoyed loan spells at RB Leipzig, Sheffield United, and Serie A sides Venezia and Spezia – although he has suffered three successive relegations while out on temporary moves.
Chelsea fans on Twitter expressed their surprise at the news that Ampadu is now their longest serving player.

One said: “Has he worn the shirt for anything else than pre season promo pictures”
Another wrote: “How is he still only 22?”
While a third added: “Deserves a chance in my opinion.”
The Evening Standard report that coach Mauricio Pochettino does not see a future for Ampadu at Chelsea and will make him train with Carlo Cudicini’s ‘loan squad’.
Cudicini is overseeing the training of the club’s Under-21s and wantaway players such as Lukaku.
If the club were to find a move for Ampadu this summer, their longest serving player would become Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has been at the club since August 2018.
The club’s next longest serving player is Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest and Saudi Arabia. More
