And the Independent claim the German giants believe they have everything in place to complete a deal – apart from Daniel Levy’s approval.

The Spurs supremo remains unwilling to sell Kane to an English club after batting away Manchester United’s interest earlier this summer.
Spurs kicked off their pre-season preparations with a 3-2 defeat to West Ham on yesterday.

Mauricio Pochettino appears to LEAK first Chelsea starting XI and drops tactical hint with four unknown players

Thousands of fans got the chance to observe the Argentine coach putting his squad through their paces ahead of their August 12 Premier League opener against Liverpool.
Towards the end of the session, the group was split in two with the majority of the senior stars moving to a pitch behind the stadium for a separate work-out.
Poch then worked with the remaining 11 on shape and structure in what looks to be his first starting XI as Chelsea manager – and it is not one you would perhaps expect.
The team were set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and went through various stages of building up from the back using intricate passing patterns and movements against carefully arranged mannequins.

The team selected had an average age of just 20, and had eight debutants, with only Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Cucurella and Carney Chukwuemeka having represented the club before.
The team was as follows: Lucas Bergstrom in goal. A back four of Malo Gusto, Chalobah, Bashir Humphreys and Cucurella. Cesare Casadei and Andrey Santos in midfield. Finally, trio Diego Moreira, Chukwuemea and Ian Maatsen were sat behind striker Nicolas Jackson.
Poch bellowed at this group for the majority of the practice, wanting them to play with pace and precision but with a few tactical tweaks, such as inverted wingers and split centre backs.
The seniors – including Conor Gallagher, Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Christopher Nkunku – then returned for an 11v11 mini-game.

Poch could look to switch his team around completely at half time against Wrexham to give his entire travelling US squad a chance to impress, with the stronger line-up potentially thrown in for the second half.
So, who is this inexperienced and young starting XI that Poch could put out against the Welsh League Two minnows?
Goalkeeper and Finland international Bergstrom, 20, is 6ft 7in and joined the academy in 2018 before spending last season out on loan with Peterborough.
Right-back Gusto, 20, signed from Lyon in January before finishing the campaign with the French outfit.
Humphreys, 20, has been a Blue since he was 15 and was loaned out to Bundesliga 2’s SC Paderborn earlier this year.
Italian midfielder Casadei, 20, arrived last summer only to spend the second half of the season with Reading. Santos, 19, is a Brazilian wonderkid signed in January.
Moreira, 18, joined on a free from Benfica this summer and starred at the U21s Euros with Portugal. Ian Maatsen, 21, impressed for Vincent Kompany’s promoted Burnley last year and is linked with a move back.
And finally, Jackson, 22, is Chelsea’s £32m striker from Villarreal and is expected to lead the line for Poch in the upcoming Prem season.

The attack happened after the ex-pro – who rose through the youth ranks at Newcastle United – left The Gate nightclub in Darlington in the early hours of September 25 last year.
Teesside Crown Court has now heard how he got into a row with two women for apparently jumping the queue in a kebab shop close to the nightclub in County Durham.
Prosecutor Robin Turton told how Maddison threatened: “You come near me and I’m going to pelt these cheesy chips at you.”
Mr Turton added: “As the defendant threw the chips he fell backwards and he punched the victim with his right clenched fist.

“There was a steady stream of blood coming from what appeared to be a broken nose. She was unable to speak due to her injuries.
“The victim was taken to hospital and a CT scan revealed complex midfacial bone fractures.
“She reported that she continues to suffer numbness to the teeth, diminished sense of taste and smell and is now reluctant to go out on her own.”
Maddison was arrested and later pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm.

He now faces sentencing on August 8.
The judge, Mr Recorder Paul Reid, extended his unconditional bail while an updated victim impact statement is prepared and a medical carried out on the victim.
The 29-year-old midfielder scored 52 goals in more than 200 appearances during a six-year stint at League One side Peterborough United.
He also played for former Premier League sides Hull City, Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.
He also won two caps in 2014 for England C, the team representing the country for non-league level footballers.
Maddison signed for National League North club Darlington in June last year but had his contract ripped up days after the assault.
Darlington FC said: “The club were made aware of an alleged incident and conducted an immediate disciplinary investigation.
“After discussions with the player concerned, the club agreed to mutually terminate his contract with immediate effect at that time.
“Darlington FC is a fan-owned club and has a zero tolerance towards discrimination, violence of abusive behaviour.
“It would be inappropriate for Darlington FC to comment further at this time.”

Maddison took time off from football in March 2001 for mental health reasons, having played ten matches for Bolton on their way to promotion from League Two.
Speaking a year later, he said: “Things didn’t go well at Bolton and, headspace, I just wasn’t in the right way to play football anymore.” More

FORMER West Brom striker Hal Robson-Kanu has opened up about why he decided to start his own drinks business. The 34-year-old founded The Turmeric Co. brand with his dad in 2018, but he recently revealed it was his teenage years that inspired the venture.

Having joined Reading’s academy at the age of 15, Robson-Kanu suffered two severe injuries before breaking into the first team, both of which required surgery.
He was told by club doctors that he would likely never play without pain and restriction in his knee again, prompting him to take prescribed painkillers.
However, after these had an adverse effect on his body, the former Wales international turned to natural remedies.
He told The Reading Chronicle: “It was at that point where me and my dad basically went on a research binge. We began looking at natural ways to recover from pain, inflammation and swelling.

“We went to the library and scoured the internet. We looked at ancient Asian practices in eastern cultures where they would use natural remedies.
“What we began to find was these natural ingredients which kept recurring, like watermelon, pomegranate, pineapple, ginger and turmeric in the raw format.

“It wasn’t powder or capsules, what we read was that the raw ingredients were key to having an impact.
“My dad sourced all of the natural ingredients from local markets over the next few days and began to turn these into a blend.

“At first it didn’t taste too good but after a few days my dad perfected this blend of raw, natural ingredients and it was this golden elixir. It was really potent, knocked my socks off, but it was actually enjoyable.
“Immediately the additional nutrient and micronutrients and macro nutrients I was consuming from this golden blend really gave me a real boost of energy.
“Within a few weeks, I began noticing that I didn’t have as much restriction when I did exercise, but the pain and inflammation was there.
“It was after about six weeks of using this blend that my dad was continuously making and waking up, going into the bathroom and into the shower that I realised I had woken up without pain or restriction in my knee.
“It was a lightbulb moment because up until that point I’d taken everything I was told as gospel.”
The Turmeric Co. is now set to move to a larger premises, and Robson-Kanu hopes that products will enter large chain supermarkets soon.
The striker is yet to officially retire from football, even though he hasn’t played professionally in two years.
He offered his services to newly-promoted Wrexham earlier this year.
The Welshman posted on Instagram: “@vancityreynolds I’ll come out of retirement and come and play for @wrexham_afc next season.
