Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag breaks his silence on Mason Greenwood’s future at club as pre-season kicks off WITHOUT him

He was later charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour, before the charges were dropped in February.
Man United have been conducting their own investigation into the allegations and he was most recently left out of the club’s pre-season tour to the US.
But Ten Hag has addressed the situation ahead of United’s friendly with Arsenal on Saturday night, The Star reports.
He told reporters: “On this, it’s a club decision and of course, I said my opinions but it’s a club decision and we have to accept that.”

And asked whether he would like to keep Greenwood at the club, the Dutch manager added: “I can’t say so much about it but I shared my opinion about it, so let’s see what’s going to happen.”
Greenwood has been linked with a move to Italy, with Serie A side Atalanta rumoured to be among clubs interested in offering him a chance to get back on the pitch.
But sources close to Atalanta have played down the prospect of a move – with Man United not proactively exploring other loan options, The Athletic reports.
Greenwood was most recently pictured taking part in a private training session with teammate Anthony Elanga last week.

United are expected to make an announcement on the young striker’s future soon, having completed their exhaustive internal probe.
It is understood Ten Hag and the majority of the first team are willing to give Greenwood another chance, but a loan move abroad appears to be the most likely option.
United’s women’s team is also reported to have reservations, while sponsors are also concerned about being linked to the £75,000-a-week player.
Wayne Rooney also spoke out on the issue last week, suggesting Greenwood should leave the club to get his career back on track.
The DC United manager said: “It leaves Mason Greenwood in a position where he is stuck.
“So for Mason, it’s a bad position to be in because I’m sure he just wants to play football.
“But for the club, its image and ensuring they make the right decisions, it’s almost a catch 22.
“I think the best thing for Mason now is to get out of the club and go and develop somewhere else.”

I was ‘raped’ by Premier League footballer when I was a teen…a comment his friend made left me with a specific question

She has admitted her memories are hazy about the alleged ordeal but claims she wasn’t drunk and never consented to sex.
Chloe told the Daily Mail: “There is no way in hell that I could have been drunk enough to black out. Either something else was involved or trauma took over.
“How I felt the next day was so different from a hangover. I was overwhelmingly confused and tired more than anything.”
She was left feeling scared a few months later when a friend of the footballer “made a comment” about how much she liked a drug she had never even heard of before.
    Chloe added: “Did they know?”
The alleged victim said she had never met the footballer prior to that night eight years and hasn’t seen him since.
She told how she had been hanging out in the bedroom with her housemate and the player when her friend left.
Chloe said she asked “don’t shut the door” as she was adamant nothing would happen.

She added: “The next thing I remember is my housemate back at my room, banging on the door, asking, ‘What’s going on?’
“[The footballer] had a pillow covering himself and let her in. I’m surprised he even opened the door.”
It was then Chloe discovered the footballer had filmed them together and was showing the clip to other party-goers.
At the point, she claims she was still on the bed “unable to move” and struggling to understand what had happened.
Chloe has never reported the attack to the police or her parents and told how she “completely buried it”. More

She claims he then immediately shared footage of the alleged attack eight years ago with revellers, Daily Mail reports.
Chloe revealed she has never seen the clip and has no idea whether it even still exists but told how part of her wants to see it.
She said: “I don’t know exactly what was shared. Part of me wishes I’d seen the video, so I had some form of evidence.
“I don’t think I had any idea what was going on. It’s still there in my mind, but how it got from him being sat in a chair to that…if I was with it, I’d surely remember him filming.”

Despite being substituted at half-time, he stuck around after the game to meet some fans – one of which was holding a sign that read: “Saka it’s my birthday, can I get a pic?”
After greeting the young supporter, Saka handed him his match-worn boots before posing for a selfie with his MVP trophy.
Fans took to Twitter to praise the winger, with one person tweeting: “Bukayo Saka’s heartwarming gesture of gifting his boots to a young fan demonstrates that he’s not just a talented footballer but also an inspiring role model both on and off the pitch. A true class act!”
Another said: “That might just inspire that boy to become a baller. Great gesture, Bukayo!”

A third wrote: “Saka handled this so well.”
While another commented: “This kid will cherish this moment for the rest of his life!”
Arsenal claimed a convincing win over MLS All-Stars thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Jorginho, Gabriel Martinelli and new boy Kai Havertz.
Jesus opened the scoring just five minutes into the match with an audacious strike into the top-left corner of Roman Burki’s goal.

Trossard then followed it up with another excellent finish before Jorginho netted a penalty to make it three.
Martinelli then latched on to a superb through-ball from Martin Odegaard before passing the ball into the bottom-right corner.

Chelsea in new kit concern with badge seeming to DISAPPEAR during Wrexham friendly win

CHELSEA’S win over Wrexham in the Florida Cup has been overshadowed by a problem with their new kit.The Blues have gone with an unusual 1990s-themed home shirt that has divided opinion amongst the fanbase.

Perhaps the most unique feature on the shirt is the iridescent Chelsea badge.
In one of the promotional shots the badge appears both pink and white depending on the camera angle, and against Wrexham on Wednesday night this proved to be a problem.
That’s because it was not visible at all at certain points, possibly due to the lack of light.
Some fans shared their concern with one writing: “It looked so cool at the game. Though the badges are distracting as they shimmer. LOL.”

Another added: “The iridescent logos don’t pop well against royal blue – they get lost in certain angles which isn’t ideal.”
However one supporter likes the new design, saying: “Not gonna lie… the reflective crest on these 23/24 Chelsea home kits are pretty fire.”
Chelsea are still yet to find a front-of-shirt sponsor after their deal with Paramount+ was blocked by the Premier League.
It’s reckoned the Paramount Plus deal would have upset UK broadcasters.

And the proposal also fell foul of the Deed of Licence, a contract covering various media matters between the Premier League and football clubs.
Talks with German banking giant Allianz fell through after they offered just £20m a year.
Chelsea have also been linked with a one-year, £40m deal with betting group Stake.com. More

I was ‘raped’ by Premier League star when I was a teen – he FILMED it & showed pals.. I keep seeing his face on TV

A WOMAN has claimed she was raped by a Premier League star as a teen in a bombshell interview. The alleged victim – who has not been named – says she was 19 when the footballer “attacked” her in her own bedroom during a house party eight years ago.

The woman said the footballer probably wouldn’t remember her ‘if we walked past each other’
She told The Daily Mail the footballer, who she had never met before the party, probably wouldn’t remember her “if we walked past each other” – but the memory of that night is seared into her mind.
The woman says she was “unable to move” during the alleged assault.
She said: “The next thing I remember is my housemate back at my room, banging on the door, asking, ‘What’s going on?'”
She claimed the footballer filmed the horrifying attack – and that footage was allegedly already circulating among guests.
    READ MORE FOOTBALL NEWS
However, she admits that she has not seen the film herself and does not know if it still exists.
The woman said she had never met the player before and they have not met since – but she has not reported the attack to the police or her parents.
She speculated that her drink may have been spiked, but insists she was not just drunk and never consented to the sex, saying there was “no way” she was intoxicated enough to not remember.
Finally, she alleges that the player – who is now signed to a Prem team – returned to her house in the early hours and banged on the locked door, as well as texting her incessantly.
    Most read in Football
She is scared of reporting the case given the low prosecution rate for rape, especially so long after the attack allegedly took place, the Mail reports.
The woman said: “Honestly, why would I consider the police when I know how incredibly difficult it is to even get it through the Crown Prosecution Service?
“If it gets to court, you are completely annihilated by a lawyer who makes you feel worthless.
“The system isn’t there to protect victims of sexual violence. What other crimes do you report and you’re instantly accused of lying?”
And her pain is only deepened by the fact that she sees his face on TV regularly while watching football with her partner.
She now faces either reliving her experience each time he appears or giving up watching a sport she loves. More

New Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario on his ‘angry’ nickname, his journey from Serie D and hosting Ukrainian refugees

IF Tottenham felt the venomous outbursts would end with Antonio Conte’s exit, they were wrong.Because new goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is known for having quite the temper himself.
Guglielmo Vicario with team-mate Destiny Udogie as they take part in a kids’ training session with the Telethon Charity in Perth on Tottenham’s tour
So much so that back in his homeland of Italy, he was dubbed ‘Venom’, after the furious comic superhero character played by Tom Hardy.
Vicario, who joined Spurs from Serie A side Empoli for £16million last month, explained: “It was made by two guys from (broadcaster) DAZN in Italy.
“They told me: ‘When you play on the pitch sometimes you get angry, you feel angry, so you feel like Venom’. Also Venom starts with V, Vicario starts with V.”
Asked how his supposed anger manifests itself on the pitch, the 26-year-old elaborated: “I shout, maybe. My facial expression can change in some critical moments of the game.

“I hope to do this not many times, because I think we have a big squad, so I trust in my lads.”
Spurs fans had plenty to fume about last season as their side finished eighth, outside Europe, with Conte sealing an acrimonious exit in March.
Everything seems calmer now the more diplomatic Ange Postecoglou is in charge.
The Australian, 57, took the long road to the top, managing in his home country, Japan and Scotland before finally reaching the Premier League with Spurs.

Vicario has travelled a similarly scenic route to England’s top flight, working his way up the divisions in Italy.
Back in the 2014-15 campaign, when Harry Kane hit 21 Premier League goals to become the star of Mauricio Pochettino’s first season as Spurs boss, Vicario was on loan in Serie D with minnows Fontanafredda.
The Udine-born stopper, whose childhood hero was Gianluigi Buffon, said: “Serie D to Tottenham is like a dream for me. I’m inside of my dream, I want to live my dream.
“(The manager and I) started from the bottom to reach the top and for us I think it’s a big success of courage. A big mentality.
“Coming up from the bottom is not so easy. It’s a big challenge with myself and himself and I think we have to be happy for our process.”
Vicario, 26, spoke in flawless English as he took part in a kids’ coaching session while on Spurs’ pre-season tour to Perth, Australia.
It is a far cry from the more local warm-up friendlies he experienced at the likes of Venezia, Cagliari, Perugia and Empoli.
He added: “I need to adapt because Spurs is a big club. We have many, many fans so it’s different. It’s the first time in my life.
“When I was in Serie D it was impossible to see it like this.”
Vicario, who has been called up to Italy in recent months but is yet to receive a cap, may show his wrathful side on the pitch.
But off it there is evidence of his kind-hearted nature by the fact that he and his family have taken in a Ukrainian refugee mother and child who have fled their war-torn homeland.
Vicario has struck up a particularly close relationship with the 11-year-old son, named Milan.
The stopper added: “He is my little brother.
“When I come back to Udine to see my family, I spend some time with him. He is good. He is going to school, he learns Italian.
“I hope he feels good because in Ukraine now the situation is not so good with the war.
“So we try to give a smile to these people and I hope they don’t [have to] think to the situation of their country.

“When I go to the pitch, thinking about them is important. It’s like a strength it can give.”
Vicario was speaking at a Tottenham Hotspur Global Football Development session with beneficiaries from Telethon, one of the largest charities in WA that raises funds to deliver programmes for sick, vulnerable, and disadvantaged children. The participants were also invited to the team’s open training session in Perth from which all proceeds will be donated to Telethon. More
