Ex-Rangers star makes shock move to EIGHTH TIER English club and reveals major career change

Ross McCormack made his Rangers debut as a 17-year old in 2004 and big things were expected of the talented striker.
However, he never quite managed to make the big breakthrough and was restricted to a handful of first team appearances over the next couple of seasons.
He did, however, score a hugely memorable Champions League goal in November 2005.
McCormack fired an equaliser in Porto as the Gers held the former European champions to a 1-1 draw on their way to reaching the knockout stages for the first time ever.

A switch to Motherwell in 2006 proved an inspired move, with McCormack moving to the Football League with Cardiff in 2008.
Finding a prolific streak, he earned a Scotland call-up and a big move to Leeds United in 2 010.
He’d spend four years at Elland Road, with a stunning 29-goal season in 2013/14 convincing Fulham to splash out £11million on McCormack in 2014.
Despite two more prolific campaigns, McCormack couldn’t fire the Cottagers back to the Premier League and in 2016 he was on the move again.

This time, Aston Villa splashed big money, landing him for £12million.
That move, ultimately, didn’t work out and after 20 Championship appearances in 2016/17, he’d never play in the league for Villa again.
McCormack spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest, Melbourne City, Central Coast Mariners and back to Motherwell before being released in 2019.
Most recently, he turned out a couple of times for Aldershot Town in 2020 in the National League.
He hasn’t had a club for the past three years – but now he’s back and in a somewhat unexpected place!
McCormack’s signing has been announced by Liversedge FC, a club based just outside of Leeds and plying their trade at level EIGHT on the pyramid.
They’ll be playing in the Northern Premier League Division One East this coming season having been relegated from the Premier Division last campaign.
McCormack, capped 13 times by Scotland, hasn’t just signed on as a player, hoever.
As well as getting his boots back on, the 36-year old has also revealed a new career.
McCormack is also making the step up to boardroom level, taking on the role of director of football at the club as well.
It’ll see him take up the somewhat unique position of player/director of football.

Just last week, former Celtic, Everton and Sunderland star Aiden McGeady announced a similarly surprising career switch, joining Ayr United in the Scottish Championship on a hybrid player/technical manager role.

Man Utd in huge Harry Kane transfer boost as Spurs owner tells Levy he MUST sell star if massive new deal is rejected

MANCHESTER UNITED have been told they would have to pay Harry Kane a whopping £30million a year to sign him.The £577,000-a-week salary would make Tottenham’s England captain by far the highest-paid player in the Premier League and smash the Red Devils’ wage structure.

United’s current top earner is Marcus Rashford, who earns £325,000 a week after signing a new deal.
Tottenham have offered Kane, 30, on Friday, a new £400,000-a-week contract, which the striker has not signed.
German champs Bayern Munich are also in the race to land him but have had  two offers of £60m and £70m turned down.
United began the summer with Kane their No 1 target.

And they were recently boosted to hear Spurs owner Joe Lewis does not want to let their 280-goal all-time top scorer run his deal down and leave on a free in a year.
But Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag is keen to avoid one player earning considerably more than anyone else.
As it is, United need to generate any transfer fee from sales, due to Financial Fair Play restrictions after buying Mason Mount and Andre Onana for a total initial outlay of £98.8m.
Bayern are expected to make another Kane offer, while reports claim Saudis Al-Hilal are preparing a bid.

Spurs team-mate Son Heung-min, 31, said: “Harry is always professional.

“There’s so much news around but he’s captain and  working with the team. He doesn’t show any distraction.
“But I don’t know anything. Probably Harry doesn’t know. We just have to wait.”
Kane is also set to sign a new boot deal after his Nike contract was understood to have expired — he wore blacked-out boots as Spurs trained on Saturday in front of 6,000 fans in Bangkok.

But the Portuguese felt his team-mate’s telling of the tale is unfair.
City’s players flew back to Manchester after winning the Champions League in Istanbul, then a group jetted out to Malaga before returning for a victory parade.
A source close to Dias said: “Ruben felt unwell because of all the travelling he’d done.
“He never drinks alcohol but stuck to the promise he made to down  shots if the team won the Treble.

“He moved a curtain and was sick behind it — but it turned out Mrs Grealish’s handbag was there.
“Ruben wants to do the right thing and find a replacement.”
Grealish enjoyed a month-long booze-filled holiday after winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League with City.

The forward briefly stopped off in Ibiza for less than 24 hours last month, before he was spotted looking worse for wear at the Citizens’ open-top bus parade in Manchester.
The 27-year-old then jetted off to Malta for England’s Euro 2024 qualifier, which he did not feature in.
But the ex-Aston Villa star did come off the bench at Old Trafford three days later in a 7-0 win over North Macedonia.
Then the partying continued for Grealish as he flew to Las Vegas for six days.

However, the winger didn’t last long as he appeared to have twisted his ankle and was taken off by manager Erik ten Hag before limping to a medical room.
After full-time, the Ivory Coast international was seen walking out on crutches with his ankle strapped.
That could put the brakes on a potential summer move for the 21-year-old.
But the winger would later release a positive update on Instagram about his condition.

He wrote: “I feared the worst,ALHAMDOULILAH nothing serious 🙌🏾 back soon Inch’ALLAH.”
Diallo has spent the majority of his two-year stint at Old Trafford out on loan.

But the forward bounced back last season while playing at Sunderland as he amassed 14 goals and four assists in 42 appearances.

Bayern Munich have put pressure on Tottenham with two bids for their talisman, with a third set to be submitted.
And one German reporter could not help but poke fun at the situation with a clever joke.
During Postecoglou’s press conference ahead of the friendly against Leicester, the reporter unveiled a Bayern Munich shirt with “Harry Kane 9” emblazoned across the back.
He said to the Spurs boss: “What does that look like? It looks quite good, no?”

Postecoglou reacted angrily, saying: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Did you get a good laugh? Very good. You came a long way for that.”
Tottenham have now banned the reporter from future press conferences after withdrawing his accreditation for the Leicester match.
Some fans think the club has overreacted to a bit of harmless fun, with one suggesting they are “bitter”.
The Kane saga appears to be having a negative effect on Postecoglou who admitted he is “not relaxed” about the situation.

It has been a difficult few days for the Aussie with Roma pulling out of a pre-season friendly before the Leicester game was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.
Kane’s wife Katie Goodland is also reported to have spent the last few days in Munich looking for a new house.
Bayern are confident Kane wants to join them, with their director Uli Hoeness publicly confirming that belief.
SunSport understands the Three Lions striker is open to a move to Bavaria.
But he has also not ruled out either staying and running down his Spurs contract to leave on a free transfer next summer, or even signing a new deal. More

Manchester United were interested in landing the attacking midfielder this summer but ended their pursuit after signing Mason Mount from the Blues.
And according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the West Londoners have now swooped in to land the Ghana international.
Chelsea and Ajax have held talks but no offer has been tabled from the Premier League giants.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side has also contacted the 22-year-old.

And personal terms are close to being agreed with Kudus, who appears keen to move in the summer.
The Ghanaian’s agent Jennifer Mendelewitsch put potential suitors on red alert in May by admitting that her client would like a new challenge.
Mendelewitsch told De Telegraaf: “I think it is best for both Ajax and Mohammed that he makes a transfer now.
“Now is the right time. He has ignored a proposal to extend his contract until the summer of 2026.

“What I can say is that after the World Cup and this season there is a lot of interest in Kudus.”
Kudus has two more years left in his contract and Ajax have previously demanded £40million to let him go.
He joined Ajax from Nordsjaelland in 2020 and quickly rose to prominence in Amsterdam.
The versatile forward has since scored 23 goals and provided 11 assists in 84 appearances for the Dutch giants.
And that also led to two Eredivisie titles as well as the Dutch Cup in 2021. More

Ex-Man Utd star brutally trolls Kai Havertz on MUTV during 2-0 win over Arsenal but insists ‘I have nothing against him’

MUTV commentator Ben Thornley delivered a savage assessment of Kai Havertz’s performance during Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.Havertz started alongside fellow new signing Declan Rice in a midfield three with captain Martin Odegaard.

But Arsenal struggled for balance in the midfield as they fell to a 2-0 first-half deficit which they could not come back from.
Arteta changed much of his team at half-time but Havertz remained on the pitch for the second half.
And former United winger Thornley laid into Havertz just minutes after the interval.
Co-commentator Stewart Gardner asked Thornley what changes he would make if he was in the Arsenal dugout to which he replied: “Well, I’d have just taken Kai Havertz off cause he’s rubbish!”

Gardner then replied: “What have you got against Kai Havertz?”
Thornley responded: “I’ve got nothing against him!”
Thornley himself is an ex-United player having come through alongside the likes of David Beckham, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes in “The Class of 92.”
He made 14 appearances for United and was rated highly alongside the likes of Beckham and Scholes.

However injuries prevented him from ever making regular first team appearances for The Red Devils.
He called time on his playing career in 2010 after playing for Northern Premier side Witton Albion.
Havertz faces pressure to justify his £65million price tag after making the move from West to North London.
The German international will forever be well regarded at The Blues for his winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final but he struggled for consistency.
Arteta will be hoping to help Havertz find a new lease of life by deploying him in the midfield rather than using him as a false nine as he was at Chelsea.
The German midfielder has already found himself being mocked by fans after failing to impress during a skills show ahead of Arsenal’s clash with the MLS All Stars.
He did, however, manage to find the net against the MLS team as part of a 5-0 victory for the Gunners. More
