    That’s all from Burnley
Manchester City beat Burnley 3-0 in their Premier League opener after another dominant display thanks to a brace by Erling Haaland.
Haaland netted the first Prem goal of the season after just four minutes following a set-piece.
Rodri headed the ball to the Clarets’ area from the left and the striker tapped it to the back of James Trafford’s net with ease.
The Norway international doubled the visitors’ lead on 36 minutes when Kyle Walker delivered a low cross from the right and found Julian Alvarez who set his star team-mate up.
Haaland then fired a curling left-footed effort that hit the crossbar before ending up behind Trafford’s net.
But it wasn’t smooth sailing for Pep Guardiola’s side as Kevin De Bruyne hobbled off with another injury and was replaced by the debuting Matteo Kovacic, who was later joined by Josko Gvardiol in the second half.
Guardiola and Haaland also had a bit of a spat at half-time and the former slapped a camera that caught the exchange.
City tripled their lead with another set-piece as Phil Foden’s free-kick led to chaos in the Clarets’ defence and Rodri scored from close range on 75 minutes.
Things got worse for Burnley as Anass Zaroury was sent off with a straight red card after a VAR check proved he caught Walker from behind with his studs.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hinted Kevin De Bruyne suffered the same hamstring injury he sustained in last season’s Champions League Final.
Unfortunately he is injured again. He said to me it’s a problem in the same position as the Champions League.
He recovered well but now we’ve lost him for a time. We have to reflect and talk to the doctors and the physios.

    Haaland on Pep spat
Manchester City manager Erling Haaland opened up about his half-time exchange with manager Pep Guardiola.
Haaland revealed he was upset after Bernardo Silva didn’t play him in and Guardiola disciplined him because of his reaction.
It was because of the last action when Bernardo [Silva] didn’t play me in – he [Pep] was a bit mad at me.
Everyone sees I’m developing my game. I try my best every day – it’s a pleasure to work with Pep, I don’t know if there is anyone better for a young player as I’m still young, don’t forget.

    Another Haaland record
Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland scored a brace against Burnley.
Haaland became only the second player to net at least twice in a team’s opening game of a Premier League season in consecutive seasons.
The star striker also did the same with a brace against West Ham last season.
The only one else to achieve that is Chelsea legend Didier Drogba in the 2009-2010 season against Hull as well as the 2010-2011 campaign when he scored a hat-trick against West Brom.

Burnley star Anass Zaroury given red card for horror tackle as Kyle Walker forced off injured

THE FIRST red card of the Premier League season has been shown to Anass Zaroury in Burnley’s clash with Manchester City.It capped off a miserable night for the Clarets who fell to a 3-0 defeat to the Premier League champions.

Zaroury was initially shown a yellow for his tackle on Kyle Walker but had the card upgraded to red after VAR intervened.
The Burnley winger desperately tried to stop Walker and lunged from behind to stop the England man’s attack.
Zaroury’s legs created a scissor motion which led to Walker getting caught awkwardly.
The England man looked to have turned his ankle as part of the contact and could be looking at a spell on the sidelines as a result.

Pep wasn’t taking any chances with his full-back – who has attracted interest from Bayern Munich this summer – and withdrew Walker immediately.
Kevin De Buyne was also forced off after 22 minutes with an injury in what was another blow for Pep’s side.
Other than that it was a perfect night for Pep’s men and it looks to be business as usual again this season as Erling Haaland opened his account from close-range in just the fourth minute of the game from the edge of the six yard box.
While the first was a simple tap-in, his second showed the range of Haaland’s game, as he curled a fine left-footed effort off the bar and in in the 36th minute.

Rodri made sure the points would be heading back to Manchester with a goal in the 75th minute.
The midfielder converted from close range following a free kick.
The game was full of incidents away from the pitch too – with Rico Lewis being struck by a lighter in the first half.
A pitch invader also entered the pitch in the 86th minute and charged for Julian Alvarez in a scary moment for all involved.
It was the second time this year that Vincent Kompany had lost comprehensively to his former coach as Burnley manager.
His team collapsed to a 6-0 defeat in last year’s FA Cup quarter-final when they were in the Championship.
And while 3-0 represents an improvement, it shows this Clarets side has a way to go as they look to mix it with the Premier League elite this season. More

Fans also picked up on his style choice during the match, with many pointing out that it was the UAE edition of the watch.

Fuming Pep Guardiola slaps camera away after shouting at Erling Haaland as fans say ‘if Mourinho did that…’

A FURIOUS Pep Guardiola slapped away a Sky Sports camera after shouting at forward Erling Haaland.Guardiola was in typically demanding form as he laid into his star centre-forward despite him scoring two goals during the champions’ first half against Burnley.
Haaland didn’t seem to react to Pep
The forward had just scored two
    Pep then slapped the camera
Before walking away and down the tunnel
The Catalan marched over to Haaland with arms outstretched and was clearly demanding more from the player – despite him bagging a brace in the first half.
Much of what he said was inaudible but he was heard shouting “That was totally the opposite” before walking to slap the broadcast camera away.
Haaland appeared to be completely nonplussed by what his manager was saying and did not reveal a response to Pep’s provocation on the pitch.
He then took off his hairband to allow his substantial blonde locks to dangle.

Fans were quick to react to Pep’s antics on Twitter, with one saying: “Pep pushing the camera & shouting at his Striker who’s bagged two goals nobody cares – but if that had been a certain Jose Mourinho they’d be in f****** uproar and talking about it for months.”
Another responded: “What more does he want?”
A third said: “Pep is never satisfied.”
City got off to a dream start in their title defence with Haaland opening the scoring after just four minutes.

Haaland netted the opener from close-range after Rodri put it on a plate for him as normal business was resumed for City.
But there was a spanner in the works after 22 minutes when De Bruyne hobbled off in what looked like a reoccurence of the hamstring tear he suffered in the final of the Champions League in June.
Haaland doubled his, and City’s goal tally for the season in the 36th minute with a powerful strike.
It’s a good omen for the Norwegian who is looking to repeat his golden boot heroics of last season as part of a City team that won a historic treble.
Vincent Kompany will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last season’s 6-0 drubbing the Clarets received in the FA Cup quarter final. More

Blackstock, 37, is the founder and chief executive of MediConnect, a company which offers a blockchain solution to stop the overprescription of drugs.
He quit football in 2017 aged just 31 and switched careers with the aim of saving thousands of lives from drug prescription abuse.
Blackstock also stepped in to help during the Covid-19 pandemic, using his company to help supply PPE to frontline staff working in hospitals.
But the main aim of MediConnect is to “provide transparency for all parties within the supply chain…to add traceability of medications”.

Blackstock, who began his career at Saints and played in the Prem nine times, wants to stop opioid addiction.
The former Leeds star also has a successful property portfolio which he has built up throughout his career, but his main passion is in pharmaceuticals.
Blackstock explained: “I had lost my mojo and I had no intention of carrying on playing football. I wasn’t enjoying playing at Rotherham.

“But even throughout my career, from the age of 18, I have always had a property portfolio outside of football, where I have invested in over 50 properties, from the auction stage to redesign or rebuild.
“However, via a good friend in the pharmaceutical industry, for the last four or five years it has been one of the major pursuits in my life to eradicate the huge dangers with the over prescription of drugs.
“As it stands, there is nothing to stop anyone ordering drugs from one online pharmacy, then exactly the same with another company and then going down to their local GP and topping up with the same.
“The GP has no idea you have already ordered the same prescription elsewhere. “Our white paper identifies the need to prevent patients ordering prescriptions with multiple pharmacies.”

Maguire, 30, was dropped early on last season by boss Erik ten Hag and went on to start just eight Prem matches.
Earlier this summer it was confirmed that Ten Hag had stripped the England defender of the captaincy at Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes taking his place.
United have agreed a deal to let Maguire join West Ham, but it is now up to the experienced centre-back himself.
Quizzed if his former skipper is available for Monday night’s match, Ten Hag said: “Of course.”
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
Maguire has fallen behind Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and at times even Luke Shaw in the pecking order at United.
But he could yet opt to stay and fight for his place.
With Euro 2024 looming next summer, however, Maguire may decide that regular first team football is important if he is to keep his Three Lions place.
Maguire has two years remaining on his £190,000-a-week contract at United.

It is understood that West Ham are offering him a wage cut to £120,000 a week to move to East London.
To offset the difference, SunSport revealed that United will give Maguire a £6m pay-off to leave for the Hammers.
Following his demotion from United’s captaincy earlier this summer, Maguire said: “I wanted to say a massive thank you to the Manchester United fans for all their brilliant support whilst I’ve been wearing the armband.
“Since the day I took on the role, three and half years ago, it’s been a huge privilege to lead Manchester United and one of the proudest moments of my career to date.
“It’s one of the greatest honours in club football.
“I’ve done everything I possibly could to help United be successful – on and off the field.
“I will always be grateful to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for first giving me the responsibility and I wish whoever now takes it on every success and they will have my full support.”
West Ham, meanwhile, get their Prem season underway tomorrow with a trip to Bournemouth.

Speaking ahead of that match, boss David Moyes confirmed that his side are in for Maguire.
He said: “We’ve had a bid accepted from Manchester United, but while he’s not our player I’m not in a position to discuss him.”
