Mo Salah rages after being subbed off at Chelsea and fans think he should ‘fined for littering’

MO SALAH was left raging after being subbed off against Chelsea. The former Blue was replaced by Harvey Elliot on 77 minutes and left everybody in Stamford Bridge in no doubt about have angry he was.

Salah was clearly furious with boss Jurgen Klopp’s decision, with Liverpool’s opening weekend clash with the Blues on a knife edge at 1-1.
And he vented his frustration on his protective hand tape – tossing it across the West London turf as he trudged off the pitch.
It had fans joking that the Egyptian should have been punished for littering.
One said: “Look at Salah man, littering all over the pitch.”

Another added: “Should Salah be fined for littering? I think so….”
One agreed: “Salah should be fined for littering.”
Another said: “Seriously Salah should be booked for littering!”
Salah had laid on a perfect pass for Luis Diaz to open the scoring in the so-called ‘Caicedo Derby’ – with the clubs in a protracted transfer battle for Brighton star Moises.

Chelsea debutant Axel Disasi levelled things up with a header before half-time, before a goalless second half saw each side settle for a draw.
Salah had a record of scoring in all six of his opening Premier League games with Liverpool.
In those matches, he notched a total of eight goals which is a joint-record with Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard.
And he thought he had extended that record after momentarily putting Liverpool 2-0, only to be denied by VAR in a tight offside call.
Ben Chilwell suffered the same fate as Salah when he was narrowly ruled offside having rounded Alisson to finish moments after Disasi’s equaliser.
Klopp refused to criticise Salah for his angry reaction to his substitution.
The German said: “I can understand because if Mo scored it would have been a new record for goals scored in the opening game but I didn’t think about that.
“We needed stability and we needed fresh legs. It was super intense for everybody.
“That’s all I can say about it, his reaction was absolutely okay. When I sub a player and he is jumping in to my arms at 1-1 and he is a striker who thinks he will score, I would be really surprised so that’s absolutely fine.”
Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane, however, was not impressed, telling Salah to “sit down and shut up”.
He said: “It’s OK to be upset but don’t keep it going too long.

Fans joke Todd Boelhy has ‘signed Anthony Taylor too’ as Chelsea somehow get away with ‘handball’ in box vs Liverpool

FOOTBALL fans joked Todd Boehly wild spending spree has now extended to referees as Chelsea escaped a huge handball claim in their penalty area. Liverpool were adamant they should have had a spot kick early in the second half at Stamford Bridge.

Nicolas Jackson deflected a corner back out of play with his hand – although his arm was tucked into his body.
The new striker claimed it had come off his chest but replays showed he clearly used his hand, albeit probably accidentally.
But ref Anthony Taylor opted against awarding a penalty.
And the VAR Darren England agreed after watching the incident back, refusing to send the man in the middle to the pitchside monitor as play resumed.

That prompted an outpouring of similar comments on Twitter suggesting the official was the latest big-money transfer arrival for Boehly’s Chelsea.
One said: “Did Boehly sign Taylor?”
Another joked: “Crazy to think that Boehly and Eghbali talked Anthony Taylor into an eight-year contract.”
And a final user referenced the long-held bitterness Chelsea supporters hold towards Taylor by adding: “We’ve finally bought Anthony Taylor to our side.”

To make matters worse for Liverpool, Taylor inadvertently got in the way of Dominik Szoboszlai as the Hungarian tried to launch a counter attack.
However, he did not have to stop the game or perform a drop ball because the referee managed to avoid making contact with the ball.
One viewer quipped: “Boehly should consider Anthony Taylor as his new DM the way he just blocked off Szoboszlai,” referencing Chelsea’s ongoing pursuit of Moises Caicedo to bolster Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield.
Another typed: “Anthony Taylor doing a boss job as a DM for Chelsea there.”
A third wrote: “This is genuinely a hall of fame horror show from Anthony Taylor.”
And one fan commented: “Anthony Taylor has been Chelsea’s best player.”
It was a busy day for VAR England who had to chalk off goals for both Mo Salah and Ben Chilwell in the first half.
Luis Diaz had put Liverpool in front on 18 minutes, sliding in at the back post, before Blues debutant Axel Disasi bundled in an equaliser before the break.
And it ended 1-1 in Poch’s first competitive game in charge of Chelsea.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou fumes after making wrong substitution due to admin error in Brentford clash

ANGE POSTECOGLOU was left furious after his first-half substitution did NOT go down as a concussion change due to Tottenham filling out the WRONG FORM.The Australian, 57, was forced to replace Cristian Romero with Davinson Sanchez in the 14th minute of their 2-2 draw with Brentford on Sunday.

It came after Romero had gone down moments earlier following a head clash.
And the swap was meant to go down as a concussion substitution – which would have seen Postecoglou retain his five changes for the remainder of the game.
But it ended up as one of his five subs because of Spurs’ admin error.
Speaking after the match, Postecoglou said: “The disappointing thing is that apparently, we filled out the wrong form for a concussion sub.

“That is madness in this day and age. It is pretty clear why we took the guy off.

    Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool
    37. It’s a debut goal for Axel Disasi!
    Equaliser!

    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
    34. Todd Boehly is an attendance at Stamford Bridge.
    A penny for his thoughts.
Or should I say £400m on three new midfielders.
Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool – Fernandez and Jota yellow cards
    32. Finally some feist!
After Enzo Fernandez trips Diogo Jota, the two players butt heads right in front of Anthony Taylor, giving the referee no choice but to take action.
    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
    30. Mo Salah scores Liverpool’s second – or so he thinks!
Trent Alexander-Arnold becomes the latest player to split Chelsea’s defence with a perfect through ball, and the electric Salah races through to chip the grounded Robert Sanchez.
The goal is initially awarded on the field, but after a lengthy VAR check, it is chalked off for an incredibly tight offside.
    Very. Fine. Margins.

    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
    28. Approaching the half hour mark, and Chelsea have dominated possession – 60% to 40% – but it’s Liverpool that have had more shots (five to the hosts’ three).
    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
    26. Back down the other end, and perhaps Salah should have made it two.
It’s a role-reversal this time as Diaz breaks free on the left before teeing up Liverpool’s main man.
Salah takes a touch to steady himself before curling straight at the legs of Silva.
    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
    24. Jackson strikes wide!
It’s a wayward effort from the Senegalese striker as he drags a left-footed effort wide from the edge of the box, but it’s a chance that he made himself by shrugging off the presence of three Liverpool defenders.
    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
    22. Jackson continues to hustle and bustle in the Chelsea attack.
The former Villarreal striker certainly looks as though he has something about him.
    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
    20. Chilwell goes down theatrically in the box under a challenge from Konate.
The home fans roar for a penalty but Anthony Taylor simply waves the player to his feet.
    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
    18. Brilliant goal!
Liverpool work the ball from defence to attack, from left to right and back again, and take the lead in style.
It starts with Alisson, and leads to Alexis Mac Allister pinging out a pass to Mo Salah on the right touchline.
What comes next from the Egyptian is genius, as he curls a wonderful low cross through a line of Chelsea defenders that falls perfectly for Luis Diaz to slide in beyond Robert Sanchez.
A world class assist from a world class player.
    Liverpool take the lead!

    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
    17. Gallagher gets caught out again…
    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
    16. Chelsea are enjoying themselves down the right thanks to Sterling’s positioning and James’ overlaps.
They combine again to allow the latter cross low in the direction of Jackson at the near post, only for Alisson to dive off his line and smother.
    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
    14. Enzo Fernandez has broke forward on a couple of occasions…
…which is all well and good until you realise it’s leaving Conor Gallagher as Chelsea’s defensive midfield.
The England man is up against it at the moment.
    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
    12. Salah! Off the crossbar!
It’s been end-to-end stuff in the past few minutes, a spell of attacking almost capped by the opening goal.
Seconds after Konate had blocked a Fernandez shot, Liverpool broke downfield with Gakpo in behind the Chelsea defence.
The Dutchman inexplicably opts not to shoot himself, instead feeding Mo Salah. The Egyptian takes a touch, and then curls a thumper against the woodwork above Sanchez’s outstretched arm.
    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
    10. Better from the Blues, who win the game’s first corner thanks to a darting run down the right from James.
They play it short and then almost find Jackson with a looped cross that is instead headed clear by Konate.
    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
    8. Under strict instruction from Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea begin to steady themselves.
I wonder if the Argentine’s decision to switch the dugouts at Stamford Bridge helped him to get his message across.

    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool

    6. Liverpool have certainly been on top in the opening minutes with the hosts still getting to grips with their new-look team and tactics.
Amid the confusion, Szoboszlai races into the box for Jota to slash wide.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool – Chukwuemeka yellow card
    4. Ouch! Carney Chukwuemeka chases a high ball, and, in his attempt to control, clatters his studs into the chest of Ibrahima Konate.
It brings referee Anthony Taylor immediately over with a yellow card, and the Chelsea youngster could perhaps count himself lucky that the punishment isn’t worse.
    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
    3. “Trent Alexander-Arnold with a bit of swaz…”
Welcome to Super Sunday, Peter Drury.
    Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
    2. While supporters, commentators, journalists and (even a few) players attempt to figure out the formations of each side, Mac Allister whips in the game’s first cross that flicks off the head of Jota for a goalkick.
    Kick-off – Chelsea v Liverpool
    1. After a minute’s applause in memory of John Hollins, and the taking of the knee in the fight against racism, we are off at the Bridge.
It’s Chelsea versus Liverpool. It’s Blue versus Red. It’s London versus Merseyside. Winner gets Moises Caicedo.
    Here come the two teams!
A new season, and two new captains to lead out these famous clubs.
Reece James has been handed the captain’s armband by Mauricio Pochettino, while Virgil van Dijk has stepped in at Liverpool following Jordan Henderson’s exit.
There are plenty of new faces backing the skippers up too as the teams emerge from the tunnel to the tune of The Liquidator.
There is a lot of excitement in the air. A lot of expectancy. And a lot of eager anticipation.
    Here we go!
    Poch has faith in Sanchez
The omission of Kepa Arrizabalaga has sparked tongues wagging that the Spanish goalkeeper is on his way out of Stamford Bridge – and it’s a theory that appears to have been backed up by Maurico Pochettino.
Speaking ahead of kick-off, the Argentine admitted the goalkeeping situation has developed quickly, but he and his staff have complete trust in the recently-signed Robert Sanchez.
With Kepa, it is something that has happened very quick and it is a situation that is correct [as per recent media reports]. Our focus is on this game and the players that are involved today and, of course, we have big trust in Robert.Mauricio PochettinoSky Sports

Brentford 2 Tottenham 2: Emerson Royal secures Spurs point as front three fail to fire without Harry Kane

YOU can see why Harry Kane was having second thoughts about leaving for Bayern.Because playing Ange-ball just looks so much fun.

Bryan Mbeumo equalised from the penalty spotCredit: Reuters
In the end, the few enjoyable weeks he spent working with Ange Postecoglou were not enough to dissuade Kane from calling time on his trophyless time at Spurs.
But he would have had a wry smile watching this, if he did indeed tune in from Bavaria.
Only time will tell if Postecoglou’s hell-for-leather approach will be successful in the Premier League, let alone end their 15-year hunt for silverware.
But it is going to be a thrilling ride whatever happens and surely Kane would have scored a hatful playing in it were he still here.

In the England captain’s absence, Postecoglou wanted his side to share the goals around.
And their two here came via defenders, first from Cristian Romero’s header and then Emerson Royal’s rocket, either side of a Bryan Mbeumo penalty and a Yoane Wissa strike.
All four goals came in a frantic first half that could not have delivered more in terms of entertainment value.
The game had been delayed six minutes due to a lack of WATER at the Gtech Community Stadium.

But Spurs fans, bored by the defensive tactics of Antonio Conte, Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho, will have felt refreshed by Postecoglou’s attacking style.
No wonder the travelling supporters were singing his name before half-time even arrived.
Postecoglou threw in four debutants, including three in his backline in the form of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie and the newly-arrived Micky van de Ven.
It was James Maddison, though, who stole the show and became an instant hit with the supporters.
It was he who both won and fired in a devastating free-kick which Romero thumped home with a header inside 11 minutes.
Romero had earlier suffered a clash of heads with Mbeumo and was subbed off straight after the goal.
The Argentine did not want to come off, and for a second it looked as if we would have a repeat of the Kepa Arrizabalaga-Maurizio Sarri situation at Chelsea a few years ago.
But eventually World Cup winner Romero trudged off and was given a bear hug by his boss, who had made the sensible choice.

Son Heung-min was named captain after Kane left but it was the South Korean who gave away a penalty on 23 minutes when tripping Mathias Jensen.
Referee Robert Jones did not initially give it but was consulted by VAR to check his pitchside monitor and pointed to the spot.
Mbeumo, on spot-kick duties in Ivan Toney’s absence, dispatched it past Vicario, who had been booked for dissent just before.
Tensions threatened to boil over in the dugout too as Spurs assistant Ryan Mason and Brentford coach Claus Norgaard were also cautioned for clashing.
With ten minutes to go to the break, Brentford went ahead as the rapid Rico Henry exposed Spurs’ high line and cut the ball back to Wissa.
The striker’s shot was on-target but weak, yet Van de Ven somehow managed to divert the ball past Vicario.
There was 11 minutes of injury time and within that Spurs levelled as Maddison nudged the ball to Royal, who smacked it home from the edge of the area.
Brentford should have retaken the lead just before half-time when Henry fed Mbeumo but somehow the Frenchman blazed over from six yards.
The helter-skelter pace inevitably calmed after the break with far fewer opportunities.
Yet with two minutes to go, Maddison squared for Richarlison, the man who will now get his chance with Kane gone.
But Brazil’s No9 saw his shot blocked and the chance was gone.
It left fans wondering what Postecoglou’s side might have been capable of had Kane stuck around.

Yet even now he is gone, there was enough here to suggest it will not be all doom and gloom without him.
On the contrary, Spurs under Postecoglou look the most fun in years.

The referee initially waved appeals away, with Spurs playing on.

After numerous passes by Tottenham players Brentford finally won the ball back.
And Jensen made no attempt to counter attack, instead smacking the ball straight out of play to trigger a VAR check.

Bryan Mbeumo made no mistake from the spot, levelling at 1-1.

Fans couldn’t help but notice Jensen’s antics.
One tweeted: “Brentford deliberately kicking it out of play so the ref can check VAR.
    “Modern football sucks.”
A second moaned: “Strange thing about modern football now seeing the Brentford player boot the ball out instead of going on a counter so they could trigger the VAR review for something that happened minutes later.”
They then added: “And it was smart because they got the penalty instead of wasting more energy attacking/defending.”
Another pointed to Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi’s previous VAR controversy.
They wrote: “The sweep of the Brentford player to get the VAR checked knows a lot about Simone Inzaghi.”
Thomas Frank’s side went on to take the lead in the 36th minute, when Yoane Wissa’s strike was deflected beyond Guglielmo Vicario.
