It is set to take Todd Boehly’s Stamford Bridge spending to almost £1BILLION since replacing Roman Abramovich in May 2022.
The American has twice smashed the Premier League record transfer fee, spending £107m on Enzo Fernandez and then £115m for Moises Caicedo.
But according to The Athletic, Boehly is introducing a new wage system.
It will see younger players offered lower base salaries with performance incentive bonuses.

They say James Ward-Prowse – who has signed for West Ham – will be on higher wages than Lavia.
Chelsea’s summer of spending does not appear to be coming to an end.
The West Londoners have activated the £35m release clause in Michael Olise’s Crystal Palace contract.

And his shirt has now been spotted in the Chelsea store as he prepares to pull on the No25.
The number was most recently worn by ex-Blues left-back Emerson Palmieri.
But that is not the No25 most Chelsea supporters think of when they see the shirt.
That’s because legendary Italian forward Gianfranco Zola donned the number for seven years between 1996 and 2003.

Zola, 57, contributed 79 goals and 29 assists in 311 appearances during his iconic spell at the club.
He won two FA Cups, the League Cup, Uefa Cup Winners’ Cup and Uefa Super Cup in a Chelsea shirt.
It means Caicedo has a lot to live up to as he arrives for a club record fee.
Reacting to him being given the No25, one Blues fan said: “I know what I am getting on the back 👀.”

Another added: “Wow… Gianfranco Zola is back after 2 decades…!”
And a third replied: “Just awesome 👍🏾😎.”
After completing his move from Brighton, Caicedo said: “I am so happy to join Chelsea.
“I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me, I just knew I wanted to sign for the club.
“It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait to get started with the team.”

Arsenal keeper David Raya could get awkward reception from team-mates over his neck tattoo

NEW Arsenal arrival David Raya could be in for an awkward reception from his Arsenal team-mates when they find out the meaning of his neck tattoo. The former Brentford stopper has a tattoo on the back of his neck that reads ’13-08-2021′ to commemorate his Premier League debut with the Bees.

But the player’s neck tattoo could lead to some awkward questions in the Gunners dressing roomCredit: Getty
That particular night saw Brentford beat Arsenal 2-0 in what was one of Mikel Arteta’s most testing moments as Arsenal manager.
It was a perfect Prem debut for Raya, who kept a clean sheet as goals from Sergi Canos and Christian Norgaard put the game beyond any doubt for the Bees.
Arsenal would go on to lose their next two games to Chelsea and Manchester City which left the Gunners rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table without scoring a goal.
The results saw the likes of Gary Neville lay into Arsenal’s “poor recruitment” and “lack of direction” in what was a testing time for the club.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
But the Gunners bounced back to narrowly miss out on top four that season before following that up with last season’s title challenge.
Raya is the latest signing in an aggressive transfer strategy from Arsenal this summer.
The keeper is the Gunners’ fourth signing following deals for Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber.
Arteta is keen to create competition for places this season as he looks to go one better than last and win the Premier League.

And that extends all the way to the goalkeeper position with Raya coming in despite the popularity of Aaron Ramsdale both with fans and in the squad.
Raya has signed for Arsenal on an initial £3million one year loan deal with a £27m option to buy next summer.
It remains to be seen how Arteta will deal with having two Premier League proven keepers to pick from – with some suggesting one will play in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.
Or he could follow in the footsteps of Roberto De Zerbi, who revealed that he will rotate between goalkeepers Jason Steele and Bart Verbruggen on a game by game basis. More

Folarin Balogun’s Monaco transfer in doubt as Arsenal ‘reject £34m bid’ forcing Ligue 1 side to consider other target

AS MONACO have had their £34million bid rejected for Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, according to reports. According to RMC Sport, the Gunners value the 22-year-old much higher and appear to have ended the Ligue 1 club’s interest in the forward.

Monaco had been keen on the youngster after he scored 21 Ligue 1 goals for Stade Reims while on loan last season.
Balogun’s performances also earned him a first call-up from the USA after switching his international allegiance from England.
Balogun’s remarkable season made him a key target for the French club, despite him having made just two league appearances for Arsenal and spending an underwhelming time on loan to Middlesbrough last year.
The striker has announced he is open to leaving the Emirates this summer as he feels he has proved he can play at the top level.

But, Arsenal have slapped a £50m price tag on his head, according to CBS Sport.
The hefty valuation turned Monaco’s heads towards alternative option Karl Toko-Ekambi, who plays for Lyon.

However, the Cameroonian forward has confirmed he is set for a move to Saudi Arabia, forcing the Monegasque club to turn back to Balogun.

Tottenham are one side who are considering a move for Balogun as the club seeks a Harry Kane replacement following his transfer to Bayern Munich.
West Ham are also eyeing up a potential swoop for the striker to reinforce their front line with flop Italian Gianluca Scamacca sizing up a move to Inter Milan, according to TalkSPORT.
The £50m valuation has curbed interest from Inter Milan and their city rivals AC Milan. More

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have submitted a formal proposal for Tavares.
Forest are looking to sign Tavares on a permanent deal, with negotiations over personal terms with the player ongoing.
Tavares is also reportedly a target for a pair of Bundesliga clubs.
Both Wolsburg and Werder Bremen have been said to be interested in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray were also eyeing a move for the Portuguese left-back earlier this summer.
Tavares has made 28 appearances for Arsenal since signing from Benfica in 2021.
He spent last season on loan in France with Marseille, scoring six times in 31 league matches as he helped the club finish third in Ligue 1.
However, he has not appeared to be part of Mikel Arteta’s plans since returning to the Emirates Stadium.

Tavares was left out of the squad for the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.
He was also not named on the bench for Saturday’s season opener at home to Forest.
If his move to the City Ground is completed, Tavares will become the club’s fourth summer signing.
He will not be the first player to arrive from Arsenal, though, with Matt Turner already completing the switch.

Liverpool ‘step up Doucoure transfer pursuit’ as they target Crystal Palace star after missing out on Caicedo and Lavia

LIVERPOOL have stepped up their interest in Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure after missing out on moves for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, according to reports. The Reds have so far failed to reinforce their central midfield after losing midfielders Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to the Saudi league this summer.
Doucoure could leave Palace if his £60million price tag is met – but Palace are reluctant to lose too many players this windowCredit: Reuters
They also lost veteran midfielder James Milner to Brighton on a free transfer at the end of the season.
And after initial promise of a midfield rebuild when bringing in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai the club are now scrambling to bring in some defensive nous.
The club had a £111million offer for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo accepted last week but the Ecuador international ultimately opted to join Chelsea.
They also lost out on Southampton’s Romeo Lavia who is set to join the Blues in a £53 deal.

Which has led to Liverpool identifying Crystal Palace’s Doucoure as the man to anchor their midfield this season.
The Independent report that Palace would look to demand around £60m for the midfielder, who arrived at the club from Lens last summer.
The 23-year-old midfielder made 34 appearances for Palace last season and registered three assists as he made himself a mainstay of the Eagles’ midfield.
Palace will be reluctant to lose the midfielder this late in the window – with the midfielder a key part of their side.

Doucoure played the full 90 minutes during the Eagles’ 1-0 win over Sheffield United on the opening day.
The Independent’s report adds that while Palace have put a price tag on Doucoure, they could still be reluctant to sell if the price is met due to not wanting to lose too many key players this summer.
The window has seen the club’s talisman Wilfried Zaha depart on a free to Galatasaray and the club are also set to lose Michael Olise after Chelsea met his £35m release clause.
Eberechi Eze is also attracting interest from the likes of Tottenham this summer and Palace will likely set a limit on outgoings as they do not want to be seen to be engaging in a fire sale of their best players.
On Liverpool’s own high turnover of midfield players, manager Jurgen Klopp said he is keen to “reload” his squad.
Klopp said: “We don’t have to always say ‘Milner would have said that and Henderson would have said that and Firmino would have smiled here.’ We should not do it like that. That makes no sense.
“We have this kind of new start with this Liverpool reloaded, it’s an exciting thing. Everybody was asking for changes, rightly so, because we were together for a long time.
“It’s a new chance for everybody, everybody has to step up. We all share responsibility and it’s not that we should give ourselves too much time to grow into it, let’s do it.
“Let’s take the responsibility and go from there and don’t try to be like somebody. Be the best version of yourself and then you have a good chance to help the team in the best possible way.” More
