    That’s all from Newcastle
Liverpool came back and defeated Newcastle 2-1 in a dramatic encounter at St James’ Park.
The Reds endured a disastrous first half that saw Trent Alexander-Arnold picking up an early yellow for protest and barely escaping a second after pulling Anthony Gordon to the ground.
Things got even worse in the 25th minute when Alexander-Arnold failed to hold on to a back pass by Mohamed Salah with the ball going through his feet.
Gordon picked it up down the left flank and beat Alisson with a fine finish to get Tyneside rocking.
Things kept going downhill for the Merseysiders just two minutes and 40 seconds later as captain Virgil van Dijk was sent off with a straight red card.
Van Dijk fouled Alexander Isak from behind while the Newcastle star was in a good position to score.
However, Liverpool were saved by man of the match Darwin Nunez, who came on as a substitute in the 77th minute.
Nunez equalised four minutes later when Sven Botman lost the ball down the right and the striker picked it up to beat Nick Pope by hitting his bottom right corner.
The Uruguay international completed Liverpool’s stunning comeback in the third minute of stoppage time when Bruno Guimaraes gave the ball away and Salah freed his team-mate in front of Pope.

    How Newcastle lost it
Newcastle put together a stunning performance against Liverpool at St James’ Park – or at least they did so until the 72nd minute.
That was when the Magpies’ manager Eddie Howe decided to bring out Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
Gordon was dominating down the left wing and absolutely destroyed Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold whereas Tonali was dominating in midfield.
Five minutes later man of the match Darwin Nunez entered the fray against a weakened Toon side.
Two serious mistakes in defence also contributed as Sven Botman lost the ball before the first goal and Bruno Guimarares gave it away before the second.

Van Dijk was immediately shown a red, but was furious with the decision and was reluctant to leave the pitch.
As he finally trudged off, he appeared to continue to shout in the direction of Brooks.
Gary Neville, who was on co-commentating duty for Sky Sports, suggested van Dijk was “abusing’ the official.
The former Manchester United defender said: “He’s now abusing the official. You just need to take your medicine and get off the pitch. We’ve all been there.”

Van Dijk then continued his tirade towards the fourth official, which caught the attention of his manager.
Klopp intervened, before gently pushing his centre back down the tunnel.
The German then appeared to remonstrate with the fourth official himself before returning to his dugout.
The van Dijk incident was one of many poor moments for the Reds in the first half.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was lucky not to be shown a red card, after committing a foul on Anthony Gordon moments after he was booked for throwing the ball away.
Then, just three minutes before van Dijk was sent off, it was Alexander-Arnold’s error that cost his side Newcastle’s opening goal.
The England star failed to control a pass from Mo Salah, which was latched on to by Gordon who slotted the ball calmly through Alisson’s legs.
However, the second half was a different story.
Liverpool managed to stay in the game and snatched an equaliser in the 81st minute through substitute Darwin Nunez.
Nunez won it in injury time, as the Reds achieved an unlikely win. More

Newcastle assistant Jason Tindall SHUSHES Liverpool bench as he reignites feud with Jurgen Klopp

JASON TINDALL was hit with instant karma after shushing Jurgen Klopp in the first half of Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to 10-man Liverpool. Both sets of benches got into a heated debate after Trent Alexander Arnold narrowly avoided a second yellow card for pulling back Anthony Gordon on the counter-attack.

Eddie Howe and his team were incensed that a red card was not produced which led to a war of words between the benches.
Tindall then raised his finger to his lips and shushed Klopp after he remonstrated to Howe and the team.
Things then stepped up a level when Virgil Van Dijk was sent off in the 28th minute for a foul on Alexander Isak.
Klopp argued with the fourth officials and claimed that Van Dijk had not prevented a goalscoring opportunity – and should therefore not have been sent off.

But it was Klopp that would have the last laugh.
Liverpool completed a sensational second-half comeback courtesy of a double from Darwin Nunez.
Nunez struck in the 81st and 93rd minute to ensure that Liverpool headed home with all three points.
Tindall’s first-half shushing of Klopp saw the two reignite an ongoing feud.

The Liverpool manager has complained about Tindall’s involvement in the technical area in the past, and made a quip about Tindall in a press conference earlier this month.
Klopp had been asked about the new Premier League rule that meant only one coach could be at the front of a technical area at any one time.
And the manager said in response to the question: “It’s like that in the Champions League anyway. I think it’s only a problem for one team: Newcastle. Sorry!”
Tindall achieved a degree of infamy last season for his involvement in the technical area – with some believing he was desperate to be the centre of attention over manager Howe.
A Twitter account named “Jason Tindall desperate to be centre of attention” gained 55 thousand followers as fans continued to notice Tindall dominating team photographs and being the first to shake opposition managers’ hands.
Tindall commented on the account last season and said “The haters make me laugh.”
He said: “It did make me laugh when I found out about the account.
“The haters love to hate but it just makes me laugh.
“It’s a compliment to Newcastle — it’s a rival a lot of other clubs don’t want. I’m thick-skinned enough now not to take anything personally.
“A lot of people like to hate and there’s a lot of jealousy out there.

Man City’s next transfer after Doku ‘confirmed’ by player’s team-mate as he releases emotional post

MATHEUS NUNES’ transfer to Manchester City has seemingly been confirmed after his team-mate posted an emotional trinute to him in Instagram.Wolves forward Matheus Cunha posted a photo on his Instagram story of him and Cunha in the gym, with Cunha planting a kiss on Nunes’ cheek.

Nunes made 34 Premier League appearances for Wolves last seasonCredit: Getty
The caption, which was originally written in Potuguese said: “My brother! May God bless you a lot, thank you for all the moments of partnership since I arrived! I love you brother!”
Nunes joined Wolves last summer from Sporting CP for a club record £38million fee.
But it looks like his time in the Midlands will be short-lived, with Manchester City edging closer to signing the midfielder.
City had an initial £47m bid rejected last week but look set to return with an improved offer to secure their man.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Pep Guardiola has long-admired Nunes, and City were linked with a move last summer before Wolves stole a march.
In February Pep expressed his admiration for the player, saying: “Matheus Nunes is one of the best players in the world today.”
Nunes arrived at Wolves after helping Sporting to their first Portuguese title in 19 years, where he excelled alongside the now Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.
Palhinha was crucial to Nunes’ success as he acted as a stopper and allowed Nunes to carry the ball from deep.

BETTING SPECIAL – BEST SPORTS BETTING APPS IN THE UK
At Wolves, he arrived to a midfield that contained Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho, both of them playmakers similar to Nunes and as such struggled to settle.
He scored a fine goal against Chelsea in April which was nominated for Premier League goal of the season but that remains his sole goal in the old gold colours of Wolves.
Nunes has played under four different managers at Wolves, and all have attempted to re-jig his position to get the best out of his talents that are clear for all to see.
Pep clearly thinks he has a solution, and the midfielder could certainly excel in a midfield alongside the talents of Rodri and Kovacic – which is stylistically much more similar to the one he played in at Sporting. More

Jarrod Bowen reads out secret note from Moyes live on Sky Sports after scoring vs Brighton.. but is all as it seems?

JARROD BOWEN starred for West Ham’s 3-1 victory over Brighton last night, scoring West Ham’s second just before the hour mark. And it was just before his goal that Sky Sports cameras picked Bowen up reading a note that manager David Moyes had given to him containing tactical instructions.

And read out a play by play description of his goalCredit: Sky Sports
After the game, he joined the Sky Sports punditry team to talk about the game… and the contents of the note.
Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones said to Bowen: “There’s a bit of intrigue around this evening Jarrod because less than three minutes before you scored that goal there was a little note handed to you by the manager… we’re presuming it wasn’t a shopping list?”
Bowen responded: “I know, I was trying to read it, I was trying to read it and still stay in my position… And then Micky [Michail Antonio] passed me the ball and I was looking at the note!
“And Micky just glared at me and I thought, ‘Oh no.'”

Sky pundit Jamie Redknapp then said: “I was just on the pitch Jarrod and I’ve managed to find it. People want that insight, ‘What does the manager actually say to players at the right time?’ Just read it out to us.”
Bowen then read the note aloud and said: “Jarrod, on the counter, run the full length of the pitch and we will knock it to you and take a touch and score. Slash gaffer, kiss.”
The punditry team broke out into laughter as it became clear that Redknapp might have written the note himself, as it provided a word-for-word description of Bowen’s goal.
West Ham fans responded to the clip on Twitter, with one saying: “It said two things: West Ham are massive everywhere they go and champions of Europe.”

Another wrote: “That was pretty funny by Redknapp to be fair.”
A third joked: “How’s nobody talking about David Moyes’ vision of that goal, knew there was constantly an opening on the right for Jarrod and knew he could exploit it. My manager.”
The 3-1 result was something of a Moyes masterclass, with West Ham going 3-0 up against Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton side after 62 minutes.
Brighton only struck a consolation goal in the 81st minute through Pascal Gross.
Despite the comprehensive victory for the Hammers, they only had 22 per cent of the possession and the result was testament to Moyes’ counter-attacking style.

He taunted fans by moving the ball at a corner
Maddison put in a stunning performance and in an attempt to get into his head the home supporters took aim at him.
The 26-year-old has just three England caps and failed to make an appearance at the World Cup last year despite his talent.
Bournemouth fans used it as ammunition when he went over to take a corner, chanting: “[Gareth] Southgate’s right, you’re f***ing s****.”
Maddison cheekily responded by leaving the ball outside the quadrant by the flag to wind up the Bournemouth fans.

He then moved the ball back to where it should be with a wry smile on his face.
Maddison’s antics didn’t stop there – he went to the side of the pitch to have a sip of water only for a supporter in red and black to start a rant from the stands in his direction.
The giggling creative midfielder reacted by squirting his water bottle and pointing at the scoreboard.
After the game and his standout performance, Maddison took to social media to post a photo of himself celebrating alongside a zoomed-in shot of a supporter sticking two fingers up at him.
