Arsenal fans beg Arteta to start Aaron Ramsdale in MIDFIELD over Havertz after ‘next level’ skill in England training

ARSENAL fans have joked that Aaron Ramsdale should start in MIDFIELD after footage of his outfield skills emerged in England training.England’s Twitter account posted a video of Marcus Rashford drop kicking a ball at Ramsdale, who controls the ball with a flourish and proceeds to exhibit his impressive skill at juggling the ball.

The footage caused fans to joke that Ramsdale should be pushed into the midfield – particularly after reports emerged that new signing David Raya is close to moving ahead of him in the pecking order.
The Daily Mail reported yesterday that manager Mikel Arteta has been “deeply impressed” with the Spanish goalkeeper’s performances in training since he joined the club.
Raya’s ability to play out from the back is said to have really caught the eye of Arteta.
It’s led the manager to “give serious consideration” to giving the Spaniard a “prolonged run in the team” over the coming weeks.

Fans on Twitter claimed to have come up with a solution if Ramdale is to be dropped, saying: “Might move him into the midfield uno.”
Another replied: “Rammers in that Havertz role” alongside a video of Pep Guardiola saying “We’ll be there”.
A third wrote: “Should swap him and Havertz, would concede the same but score more.”
While a fourth added: “OMG, Ramsdale’s touch is next level.”

Kai Havertz has struggled to make a real impact in the Arsenal side following his £65million move from rivals Chelsea.
The midfielder is yet to register a goal or an assist in his four Premier League appearances so far this season.
An embarrassing air-kick when through on goal against United was the latest example of his struggles in an Arsenal shirt this season.
But Arteta leapt to the defence of his midfielder in the post-match press-conference, bizarrely comparing the midfielder’s struggle for goals to how he met his wife.
Arteta said: “I said to him yesterday, things are hard in the beginning.
“When I met my wife, in the beginning it was hard to conquer her and I had to try and keep messaging.
“In the end, she said yes, she wanted to be together and it was beautiful.
“If it is a yes on the first day, it is not that great.

He is still a regular for Roberto De Zerbi, having featured in Brighton’s last three Premier League matches.
But the Italian has given his blessing for Lallana to take on a new role with England’s Under-21s.
The former Liverpool star is at St George’s Park this week assisting Carsley.

Levi Colwill recently spoke glowingly of Lallana’s day-to-day influence.
The Chelsea star and former Brighton loanee said: “At first I did not really understand why he was always on me.
“But then once it clicked in my head, I realised that he was only trying to help me. I was happy and lucky to play alongside him and he definitely helped me.
“Every day in training [he was pushing me], giving me compliments, if I needed them. If I was struggling a bit, he asked me if I was alright.
“If I am doing well, he would push me to make sure I was still doing well. There were times when I was having an off day or not really feeling like myself and he was there, no matter what, pushing me.
“It was about communication. He was always putting his arm around me, the same as Lewis Dunk.
“At Chelsea, I have Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva. They are leaders in the team for a reason. That is their job, to help the young ones, and I have had that. I have had the best.
“It has definitely made me wake up a bit and realise the opportunity I have got and that I cannot waste it.”

Felix has failed to live up to his mammoth fee in the Spanish capital.
He has scored just 25 goals in 96 appearances and had an underwhelming loan spell at Chelsea last season.
Nevertheless, according to the Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Portuguese star had many admirers, especially Liverpool.
And they say Jurgen Klopp was even willing to trade in his own £85m striker Nunez to seal a deal.

But Nunez showed fans a glimpse of his destructive best with a match-winning late double against Newcastle two weeks ago.
The report claims Liverpool was not alone in signing Felix as United and Aston Villa were keen to recruit the forward.
Saudia Arabia also tried to take their chances as Al-Hilal sounded out a deal to link him up with Neymar.
The report added Felix swiftly declined all teams with the same reply: “No, thank you, I want to go to Barca and I’m going to wait for you.” More

Palhinha flew to Germany to complete his medical but the deal collapsed with hours to spare.
According to the Athletic, this has opened the door for United boss Erik ten Hag to swoop for the Fulham star in January’s transfer window.
The report claims the Dutchman was impressed with Palhinha’s performances against United last season and that the 28-year-old was keen on the idea of a move too.
United were hoping to make the make room in their squad by selling Scott McTominay to Bayern.

Fulham had also hoped to land McTominay as a replacement for Palhinha but the Scot’s reluctance to move there apparently left them with no replacement for their man, causing the deal to collapse.
United ended up signing Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat on loan on deadline day, while McTominay will stay at Old Trafford for the time being.

Leeds star Ampadu ‘settled’ after finally ending his six-year spell at Chelsea

ETHAN AMPADU has no regrets over his six-year spell at Chelsea. The Wales midfielder, 22, finally left Stamford Bridge this summer despite just 12 first-team appearances since his initial £850,000 move from Exeter in 2017.

Ampadu has started every game for Daniel Farke’s Leeds this season
Ampadu never got a look-in at the Blues and instead was farmed out on loan for four of those years to RB Leipzig, Sheffield United, Venezia and Spezia.
He knew that was not going to change under new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino.
And it was little surprise that although he was Chelsea’s longest-serving player for a couple of weeks, he joined Leeds in a £7m move in July.
Ampadu said: “I don’t think I can ever look back and wish I did something else.

“I’m in this position because of what I have done. I have been grateful for every loan move I had and all the opportunities I got at Chelsea.
“It’s made me the player and person I am today. If you want to stay then you voice that opinion but I felt it was the right time to leave.
“I’ve enjoyed the step I’ve taken and I’m excited to see what comes from it.

Ampadu is enjoying his football after playing every minute of the first seven games under new Leeds boss Daniel Farke this season.
The versatile Welshman has starred at centre-back or midfield during his 44 international caps.
And he says he is glad to have found a home in the Championship after spells in the Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A.
Leeds have had a tradition of top-class holding midfielders in Billy Bremmer, David Batty and Kalvin Phillips and Ampadu wants to cement his spot in folklore during his four-year stay in Yorkshire.
Ampadu, preparing for tomorrow’s friendly against South Korea and the must-win Euro 2024 qualifier in Latvia next Monday, added: “I’m enjoying being settled.
“I gave my all in each of the loans and I was focused on developing and becoming a better player.
“But maybe in the back of your mind when you know you are settled somewhere and you’re not on loan, there are little things you can improve on.
“If you are playing in one position, you can work on the finer little details within that position to take you to the next level.
“If you’d asked me this last year, I probably would have said centre-back because that’s where I was playing.
“But that was before I joined Leeds and hearing what Farke wants me to play like, his style of play, that’s what attracted me and the reason I went there so I’m enjoying the role I’m playing.
“And with the history of the club, we know on the outside where everyone wants us to be.
