Germany crashed out the World Cup in Qatar in the group stages and have since failed to beat Belgium, Ukraine, Poland, Colombia and Japan.
Legendary striker Rudi Voller, who is director of the national team, is in interim charge until a replacement is found.
And the German FA reportedly “dream” of appointing Klopp.
The Liverpool gaffer was previously approached about the job in 2021 after Joachim Low stepped down.

But Klopp revealed he was “not available” due to his commitment to the Reds.
However, in a shock twist journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft reports that the German FA could offer him the national team job while also letting him stay on at Anfield at the same time.
The dual role will see him jet off during international breaks to manage his homeland.

It is claimed the 56-year-old would turn down the offer but the twist could convince him.
The German FA have a long list of potential targets to replace Flick which features the likes of Louis van Gaal, Julian Nagelsmann, Miroslav Klose, Oliver Glasner and Matthias Sammer.
If Klopp did accept the DFB’s offer then he would become one of a small group of bosses to balance club and international football at the same time.

After Walker, 33, scored his first goal in 77 internationals in the 1-1 draw with Ukraine on Saturday, Southgate revealed: “All credit to him and I’ve talked him out of retirement twice.
“Out of international football. After the Euros and after the World Cup.
“He loves being here and he’s wanted to keep going and now he’s thinking about how many caps he can get. He’s critical to us.
“If we’re talking about world class players in their position in our team then he’s probably one of them.”

Asked to confirm Southgate’s revelations that he wanted to quit, Walker said: “Yes. In a moment, at the time, me and Gareth spoke.
“The likes of Trent [Alexander-Arnold], Tripps [Kieran Trippier] and Reece James were coming through. You think your days are numbered.
“And to sacrifice how many holidays and summers that I’ve sacrificed…

“Me and Gareth have a good relationship off the field, we do speak and I feel that I can still bring something to the team. So why stop?”
Walker delivered a strong performance in the qualifier in the Polish city of Wroclaw and is a certain starter for Southgate despite his many options at right-back.
The England team arrived in Glasgow late Saturday night for the friendly against Scotland.
Southgate is likely to make a number of changes and that could include giving a first cap to Chelsea defender Levi Colwill at some stage during the match at Hampden Park.
England’s previous trip to Glasgow was a 2-2 draw in a World Cup qualifier in 2017. More

Johnson stayed in London last weekend as his old club pulled off a shock league victory at Chelsea.
He was joined in the capital for a ‘Last Supper’ meal with close friends. They included former club team-mate Neco Williams, who said: “Everyone was buzzing for him.”
Johnson, Williams and Co all linked up with Robert Page and his Wales squad in Cardiff for Thursday’s friendly draw with South Korea and tomorrow’s must-win Euro 2024 qualifier in Latvia.
Williams added: “A few of the Welsh lads all went for food and Brennan got the bill.

“It was a little meet-up as well as a chance to say congratulations to Brennan on his move.
“We celebrated with a little drink and some nice food.”
Williams is delighted his pal Johnson finally got the green light to make the move to Tottenham after a summer of transfer talk.
The full-back already has December 16 circled because that is when Johnson will return to Nottingham in a Spurs shirt.

Williams, 22, and Johnson, who came through the Wales ranks together, share the same interests including clothes fashion.
The ex-Liverpool defender joked: “We’re all really pleased for him. I’m just not looking forward to seeing him come back to the City Ground!
“London suits a lot of people because there’s a lot going on there and so much stuff to do.
“At the same time, he’s probably not thinking about what he can do on his days off. He’ll be focused purely on the football side. That will be his main goal – to go into Spurs and do well.
“I am sure he’s excited. Hopefully, he can now kick on with Spurs. You can see that his confidence has gone to the next level.”
Johnson started against Korea but was subbed at half-time to be protected for the Riga clash.
And although he has only scored twice in 21 caps, all eyes are on him to take over the mantle from Wales’ record scorer, Gareth Bale.
Williams added: “Bren isn’t Gareth or Harry Kane, he’s his own player with his own style. This is the next step in his career.
“Moving to Spurs means he’s joining a massive club and playing with unbelievable, world class footballers.
“He’s got the potential to reach the highest of levels. He’s only 22 and still very young.
“I’ve known him for quite a long time now. I think our first camp was with Wales at Under-16 level.

Harry Kane must be thinking he dodged a bullet with Man Utd in full-blown crisis a week before Bayern Munich showdown

ERIK TEN HAG returns to Carrington today after a short break to recharge his batteries. But with more problems piling up while he has been away, Manchester United’s Dutch boss must already feel like he needs another holiday.

Tricky fixtures against Brighton and then Bayern Munich in the next ten days are the last thing he needs right now.
The Red Devils just told Antony to stay away until further notice.
United have come under increasing pressure over the last week to take action amid allegations of domestic violence against the 23-year-old Brazil winger.
His national team wasted no time in axing him from their squad for this week’s World Cup qualifiers — yet the Old Trafford giants initially chose to bide their time.
    Read More on Man Utd
Now, though, chief executive Richard Arnold — with the full blessing of Ten Hag — has decided the £85.5million signing should be given leave of absence.
Antony broke down in tears during a TV interview in his homeland on Friday night — a sign the last few days have clearly taken their toll on him.
Now he can focus fully on clearing his name rather than football.
But it all means Ten Hag must manage without a player he pushed hard to sign from his old club Ajax just 12 months ago.

In truth, Antony — who worked under Ten Hag in the Netherlands— has struggled to live up to his bumper price tag.
And now another player the Dutch tactician was counting on for this season is off the table for what looks to be a key period for United.
Do not forget it was only three weeks ago that United performed a U-turn and announced 21-year-old Mason Greenwood would not play for them again.
In the weeks leading up to that decision, the feeling was he would return to the fold after charges including attempted rape and assault were dropped.
Greenwood is now at Spanish side Getafe on loan.
So, with those two forwards out of the  picture, it would normally be an opportunity for Jadon Sancho to seize his chance.
But of course it is not as simple as that — it never is at Old Trafford these days.
The £73m winger is due to return to training on Monday and cross paths with Ten Hag for the first time since their public spat.
Sancho, 23, was left out of the squad for the Red Devils’ 3-1 defeat at Arsenal last Sunday, with the manager openly criticising his performances in training.
The England international was quick to respond on social media, suggesting the reasons given by Ten Hag were “completely untrue” and he had been made a “scapegoat”.
Eight days later, Sancho’s statement is still up for all to read.
It promises to be a tense start to the week at United’s HQ when the pair cross paths.
Ten Hag feels let down by  Sancho, particularly after giving him time off last season to deal with “physical and mental” issues.
And after an unconvincing start to the  campaign, a senior player publicly challenging his authority has done him no favours.
It is hard to see a way back for the former Manchester City trainee, who has also tested the patience of some of his team-mates.
A move to Saudi Arabia emerged as a possibility for Sancho last week but collapsed after Al-Ittihad would not agree to United’s demands.

Mason Greenwood joined Getafe on loan after charges, including rape and assault, were droppedCredit: Rex
Ten Hag will also hope the injury problems which have blighted his team’s start to the season do not get any worse during the international break.
For the defeat at Arsenal, he was without defenders Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, as well as new midfielder Mason Mount.
Lisandro Martinez limped off at Arsenal with a foot injury which was still bothering him when he met up with Argentina.
And Ten Hag will also have an eye on Cameroon’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi.
Andre Onana recently performed a U-turn on his international retirement and should Cameroon qualify, it is likely to mean United’s new keeper will miss seven games to play in the tournament which starts in January.
So against that backdrop, Ten Hag must find a way to kick-start United’s season.
The defeats at Arsenal and Spurs were not unexpected given his team’s problems away from home against the Prem’s leading lights.
But their home victories over Wolves and Nottingham Forest were hardly convincing.
Now they face Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton, who are six places above United in sixth.
    Read More on The Sun
And then a week on Wednesday it is their Champions League opener at Bayern Munich, where they will come face to face with Harry Kane — the striker they wanted this summer.
The England captain, who has made such a promising start to life in Germany,  must be thinking he dodged a bullet. More

Former Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia back at Stamford Bridge but not as guest of new owner Todd Boehly

FORMER Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia has made two returns to the club over the past month – but she was not a guest of owners Clearlake Capital or Todd Boehly.Once dubbed the most powerful woman in football, she left Stamford Bridge with a £20million golden handshake shortly after last year’s takeover as Boehly took control of transfers.

She moved to England in 2003 shortly after Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea and joined the club’s plc and football club boards in 2013.
Chelsea won the lot during the Russian-Canadian’s time at the club with successes in the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
And Granovskaia, who effectively ran the Blues during Roman Abramovich’s latter years as owner, was even recognised for her work in 2021 when she was awarded the “Best Club Director in European football” at the Italian-run Golden Boy awards.
She also worked on the sale of the club to Clearlake and Boehly but even that did not land her a spot in the posh seats on either of her recent returns.

Chelsea Legends, including a now League One defender that only played five times for the club, were in action last night against Bayern Munich in a tribute to the late Gianluca Vialli.
As well as the icons out on the pitch, a host of ex players and staff were invited by the Blues to attend the match.
Granovskaia was spotted sitting in the middle tier of the West Stand during the game, but it has now emerged that she went as a guest of friends rather than being invited by the owners.
Granovskaia was also recently spotted at the Game4Ukraine charity match at the start of August.

And on that occasion she is believed to have purchased general admission tickets.
Yahoo are now stating that “Granovskaia was not invited by the club’s owners on either occasion” and that “she has not been a guest of theirs at Stamford Bridge since leaving”.
Granovskaia was a popular figure during her time their and Chelsea icon Didier Drogba paid tribute to her before the start of last season as he took to Instagram.
He wrote: “First of all, I want to thank Marina for always supporting me in the good moments and even the difficult moments at the club, when most people were criticising me for saying loud (maybe a bit too loud actually) and clear what I felt unfair (Champions League CFC v Barcelona 2009 ).
“Only Marina and a handful of people understood it as someone who cared for the club, the badge and the fans.
“Her contribution to this club is beyond what people on the outside know. Over 19 years she worked so hard to build a world class club and to keep the blue flag flying high in the world of football.” More

Brighton have enlisted the help of Swift’s fans, who have proven to carry a lot of influence in many different areas – including football, even though the singer has no association with the beautiful game.
