Jadon Sancho is slow and plays like a Man City player – he’ll never win his fight with Ten Hag, says Man Utd legend

JADON SANCHO has been branded “slow” and too much “like a Manchester City player” to win his fight with United boss Erik ten Hag.Ex-Red Devils defender Paul Parker made the astonishing claims and also believes the winger lacks the “drive” to save his Old Trafford career.
Jadon Sancho has only himself to blame, according to Paul ParkerCredit: Getty
It’s thought club chiefs are unsure if Sancho should play for United again.
Ten Hag left the 23-year-old out of his squad for the 3-1 loss at Arsenal on September 3, insisting it was because the England ace had trained poorly.
Sancho fired back at the “completely untrue” explanation and argued he had been “a scapegoat for a long time” – although on Tuesday he deleted that statement from his social media.
Now Parker has given his incredible verdict on the saga.

The former Three Lions star reckons Sancho blew his big opportunity when he returned to action last season following a lay-off for physical and psychological issues.
Parker told MyBettingSites.co.uk: “He had a very good chance of proving himself when he came back from his extended holiday but he did that.
“He didn’t grab that chance and we never saw a change in him.
“Now he is trying to do a public fight with the manager and he is never going to win that fight regardless if he is right or not.

“He might be right but the manager, the players and the fans have lost all respect for him.
“It’s all about how Erik ten Hag sees things now. It’s up to him whether he should be given another chance but personally I think his time is up at Man United.”
Parker was equally scathing in his assessment of the former Borussia Dortmund attacker on the pitch.
The ex-Fulham and QPR man said: “From his first day at Man United, I could see that he was never going to be the wide player the fans expected.”
“Fans expected him to be dynamic and full of energy. But he is slow and he plays like a Man City player, which is not what Man United are looking for.
“I don’t think there is a way back for him now.”
Parker added: “He has never looked himself in the mirror and given himself the blame. He should realise that it’s his own fault but he doesn’t have this drive about him.
“I don’t think he has that bit about him that it takes to rejuvenate his career at Man United.” More

Liverpool add exciting starlet Ben Doak, 17, to Europa League squad but are forced to drop Premier League winner

LIVERPOOL have announced their squad for the Europa League – with Jurgen Klopp forced to leave Adrian out.Youngster Ben Doak swooped in to snatch the “A list” place due to UEFA rules pushing him into the Red’s senior squad.

Liverpool will spend their first campaign outside of the Champions League since 2016.
Doak, 17, has made the headlines recently for the Scotland U21 team after his impressive performance against Spain went viral.
Meanwhile, Premier League winner and third-choice shot-stopper Adrian has been exiled from the Europa League team sheet.
The deadline recently passed for clubs to provide their squad list to UEFA, with a maximum of 25 players permitted to be on the A list of players.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
A minimum of eight of those spots must be allocated to “locally trained” players – with a maximum of four “association trained”.
This means Liverpool had to elect eight players who were trained by clubs from the same national league from ages 15-21- with four of them being from the club’s own youth system.
Teams can also register an unlimited number of players on their B list, which comprises players born on or after January 1st, 2002, who have spent at least two years at their respective clubs.
Those restrictions left Klopp with a tough decision to make as he was required to cut one foreign player from his selection following the signing of Ryan Gravenberch.

Unlucky for Adrian he was the chosen man to be swiped from the squad.
But lucky for teen Doak, who turns 18 in November, and has only been registered with Liverpool since the summer of 2022, he is neither List B eligible or considered ‘locally trained’.
The Liverpool starlet spent his youth career at Scottish sides Ayr United and Celtic.
And with Scotland not being part of the English FA, Doak had to take up one of 17 “foreign” slots in Liverpool’s squad for the Europa League.
Adrian still has hope as a loophole in the UEFA rule book confirms he could feature in the event of long-term injury to Alisson or Caoimhin Kelleher.
Otherwise, there are no surprises in Liverpool’s squad to play in the double-headers with LASK, Union SG and Toulouse.
The Reds were drawn in Group E and will get their campaign underway at LASK on September 21st. More

LA Galaxy fans have clearly taken the 37-year-old into their hearts already but their chant for him has left British supporters less than impressed.
A video taken after LA Galaxy’s 2-2 draw with St Louis showed Sharp going over to a pocket of Galaxy fans named the “LA Riot Squad”, who serenaded him to the tune of Baby Shark.
For those fortunate enough not to remember the tune, Baby Shark was a children’s song that went viral in 2016.
Sharp then posed with the fans of David Beckham’s old club as he fulfilled some club media duties.

It didn’t take long for the clip to go viral, with one fan on Twitter saying: “The King doesn’t deserve this.”
Another wrote: “Americans never fail to surprise you.”
A third chimed in with: “Why are American chants so cringe?”
While a fourth wrote: “This is as American as it gets.”

Sharp certainly appears to have found a home away from home at Galaxy, having spent the majority of his career at Sheffield United.
The Sheffield-born star played a total of 377 times for the Blades and captained the club up until his departure this summer.
His 82nd minute equaliser for Galaxy against St Louis no doubt continued to endear him to his new supporters – despite their chants failing to impress English supporters online. More

Son, 31, played the full 90 minutes as his side drew 0-0 with Wales in Cardiff on Friday night.
Jurgen Klinsmann’s side are set to face Saudi Arabia in a friendly at St James’ Park this evening.
Ahead of the match, pictures have surfaced of Son wearing a huge ice pack on his right knee.
The South Korea skipper wore strapping on the same knee against Wales on Friday, while he has also done so for Spurs this season.

Reporter Sungmo Lee confirmed on social media that there has been no word from the Korean FA regarding a potential Son injury.

He has contributed to his side’s great start under Ange Postecoglou, scoring a hat-trick in the 5-2 win at Burnley last time out.
The Aussie was glowing in his praise for Son earlier this month when asked whether Spurs’ No7 was the reason they didn’t sign a like-for-like replacement for Harry Kane.
Postecoglou, 58, said: “It’s not exactly why, but it’s one of the reasons.
“I’ve got a picture in my head of what I want the team to look like and I keep saying that we’re still at the beginning.
“It’s about putting all the pieces together and, at the same time, not neglecting what’s right in front of you.
“Sonny, whether he’s playing central or wide, has got all the characteristics. He can play in any system, but the way we play, he’s ideal.”
Spurs also suffered a scare during Argentina’s 1-0 win over Ecuador, with Cristian Romero picking up a knock.
Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni has since reassured fans that Romero is okay, and he should be available for Spurs this weekend.

Maguire, 30, is a centre-back at heart but has fallen down the pecking order behind Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans.
He has had very few starts under Ten Hag over the past 12 months and appears to still be struggling.
The centre-back was considering a move to Premier League rivals West Ham this summer but the move collapsed as talks stalled.
Phelan, who coached Maguire at Hull, believes the former captain can play further up the pitch.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
He told Sky Sports: “Harry came to the club from Sheffield United and he played a bit as a sitting defensive midfield player there.
“At Hull, he was building up to the player we thought he would be.”
The 60-year-old was Sir Alex Ferguson’s right-hand man during the final five years of the legendary manager’s tenure at Old Trafford.
Maguire moved to Hull from the Blades in the summer of 2014 and played an important role in helping the Tigers win promotion back to the Premier League and did well during the 2016-17 campaign.

This earned him the move to Leicester the following year and in the summer of 2019, he joined Man Utd in an £80million deal.
Phelan added: “We always knew he had strengths and weaknesses, most players do.
“Then the United thing came along and at that time, Harry was a top player.
“Nobody could say he wasn’t a top player in that position having played at Leicester.
“Yes, the fee was a lot. But you’re not in control of that.
“Having come to United, he did really well. He had composure on the ball.”
Phelan believes Maguire has suffered at United because of their unsettled midfield and backline.
He continued: “What he didn’t have was a settled environment of who played in front of him, who sat alongside him. He jumped in at the deep end a little bit.”
Phelan has praised Maguire for handling his difficult situation at Old Trafford “unbelievably professionally” and believes a transfer “might still happen” in January. More
