Everton ‘could be forced to SELL Jordan Pickford in January transfer’ as Premier League prepares huge takeover decision

EVERTON could be forced to sell one of their big name players if their takeover is blocked. Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri had agreed to sell the club to US investment firm 777 Partners in a deal said to be worth more than £500million.

But right now, Moshiri is not prepared to pump any more money into Everton and is relying on loans from 777 and MSP Sports Capital to cover mounting monthly losses.
The businessman is worried the Premier League, FA and Financial Conduct Authority will not give the planned take over the green light.
Doubt also persist on whether 777 Partners will pass the examination.
Next month, Everton will appear before an independent commission for an alleged breach of the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play rules.

The club in March posted losses for a fifth successive year culminating in a deficit of £430m over that time period.
It leaves Everton desperate to secure a substantial financial package to safeguard their future.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Merseysiders will be open to selling their top stars in a bid to stay financially afloat.
The likes of England keeper Jordan Pickford and star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be up for sale.

Chelsea ruthlessly trolled with fans excited to see Goal of the Month ‘from TRAINING’ after horror results

CHELSEA are facing severe ridicule as they haven’t scored a single goal ALL MONTH.The Blues tried to turn things around this summer following a disastrous season that saw them finishing 12th in the Premier League table.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has seen his side failing to score this monthCredit: AFP
The West Londoners’ new owner Todd Boehly started out by hiring Mauricio Pochettino as the new manager and then splashed over £300million in the summer.
That included a Premier League record £115m swoop for Moises Caicedo, which helped take Boehly’s total spending to a staggering £1BILLION since taking over last summer.
However, that hasn’t done much good for Chelsea who are still languishing in the Prem as they are 14th in the table with three losses and only one win in six matches.
To make matters worse, Pochettino’s pricey side hasn’t registered a single goal in the English top flight during the month of September.

So far, the Blues have lost with a score of 1-0 to Nottingham Forest and then drew 0-0 at Bournemouth.
Things got even worse earlier today when Chelsea lost 1-0 to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge following Ollie Watkins’ winner.
That means the West Londoners have nothing to show for Goal of the Month.
And fans took to social media to troll Pochettino’s misfiring side with some claiming they will have to release training footage for the award.

Chelsea will have one final opportunity on Wednesday when they host Brighton in the Carabao Cup.
One fan tweeted: “Chelsea’s goal of the month will be from training.”
Another commented: “Chelsea’s goal of the month is gonna be from the u23s because the senior team hasn’t scored.”
A third posted: “Chelsea’s goal of the month has to be picked from the ones they conceded because they haven’t scored any in 30 calendar days.”
This fan said: “Chelsea in September: Chelsea 0-1 Nottm Forest, Bournemouth 0-0 Chelsea, Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa.
“If they don’t score against Brighton on Wednesday, they won’t be able to run a Goal of the Month competition.”
And that one wrote: “Chelsea’s goal of the month is just gonna be ‘Thank you for watching’.” More

Sheff Utd 0 Newcastle 8: Paul Heckingbottom fighting for his job after humiliating record mauling by Toon

THERE’S nothing like some Championship-bound cannon fodder to get those juices flowing again. Newcastle have been scratching around in search of their A-game – yet their Z-game would have been plenty to hammer rank Sheffield United and record their biggest ever away Prem win.

The Magpies had lost their last eight games immediately following a midweek European clash and Paul Heckingbottom had all week to prime his side to tear into the Geordies.
Yet Toon boss Eddie Howe could not have dreamed of an easier ride.
And Hecky looks like a dead man walking, with it now surely only a matter of time before he becomes the first manager sacked this season.
If his job was on the line before this, with former boss Chris Wilder waiting in the wings, then it’s hard to see how he survives this annihilation.
    READ MORE FOOTBALL
Heckingbottom admitted his side were “desperately light and miles away” from competing in the Prem on the eve of the campaign.
He was banking on some late summer transfer activity yet, even with that, they have NO chance of survival at this rate.
Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn and Sven Botman – scoring his first Newcastle goal on his 50th appearance – struck in 14 first-half minutes to leave Sheffield United dead and buried.
It could have been a host more by the break but Newcastle were in an unforgiving mood with Callum Wilson, Anthony Gordon, Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak making it eight different scorers as the hopeless Blades were put to the sword.

The only stroke of ‘luck’ Newcastle had was 10 minutes in when Harvey Barnes went down injured, replaced by Gordon.
And the Scouse winger was the star here, tearing pathetic Sheffield United a proverbial new one.
Newcastle’s best away win in the Prem before this mauling was 5-1 and it could have easily been double figures, ending a brilliant week for Mags boss Howe having started it under pressure for the first time.
And the Mags save up their real tonkings for Sheffield given this equals the 8-0 demolition of Wednesday in 1999.
It was an emotionally charged Bramall Lane following the tragic passing last Wednesday of women’s player and club marketing executive Maddy Cusack.
There was a stirring round of applause and a minute’s silence followed by a rounding rendition of Greasy Chip Butty.
Elliot Anderson, Miguel Almiron, Harvey Barnes and Callum Wilson were in to freshen Newcastle up following last Tuesday’s 0-0 draw at AC Milan.
Toon were slugging from the off but Gordon added the required oomph when brought on for the injured Barnes.

The first of this humiliating rout came 21 minutes in – leaving the locals up in arms screaming for handball.
Gordon received a throw over his head down the left tight to the byline and dragged it back through John Egan’s weak shepherding and pulled back for Longstaff to bury.
Replays showed the ball just about stayed on the field but it did clearly bounce up off his arm.
There were no complaints 10 minutes later however when Burn doubled Newcastle’s lead.
Peeling around to the back post, the 6ft 7in defender shrugged off Anel Amhedhodzic’s desperate clutches to nod Kieran Trippier’s brilliant corner home from close range.
And if that wasn’t game over, Botman sealed the victory 10 minutes before the break with a brilliant glancing header from Trippier’s free-kick.
Ahmedhodzic’s meaty challenge on Longstaff was penalised by Attwell in what was the final straw for the Blades fans.
All hell broke loose when Botman headed home with bottles and missiles launched from all directions at the celebrating Geordies.
One hit Elliot Anderson yet that only spurred Newcastle on even more and they really should have had six or seven by half-time.
Sheffield United were all over the place, a Premier League side in name only, and Callum Wilson will be livid not to have bagged a hat-trick while Anthony Gordon was inexplicably denied a clear penalty.

Pressure is mounting on Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom after the crushing defeatCredit: Getty
A home goal at the start of the second would have spiced things up but that never looked likely and Wilson soon had his fourth of the campaign.
Marauding centre-back Fabian Schar declined the shot from range to slip in Trippier down the right, and the England star put in another delicious ball for Wilson to head home.
Sheffield United had long since collapsed and Gordon was next in on the act, cutting inside off the left beyond pathetic challenges before bending low into the far corner.
And the sixth was up seven minutes later as Almiron played a one-two with Bruno in the middle before ambling into the box undetected and rolling past the hapless Foderingham.
Newcastle had never scored six on the road in the Prem before but Bruno put them in seventh heaven, in a rapidly emptying Bramall Lane, firing over Foderingham after Longstaff’s deflected shot fell into his path, with Isak wrapping it up at the end.
And it was not only Sheffield United that were relieved not to see a ninth… Leicester City were aswell.
The Foxes jointly hold the record for the biggest win in Premier League history, which was a 9-0 mauling of Southampton in 2019, who were also trounced by the same score against Manchester United in 2021.

And Leicester’s Twitter account let out a huge sigh of relief after the full-time whistle.
Liverpool’s 9-0 win over Bournemouth last season and United’s 9-0 hammering over Ipswich in 1995 are the two other joint-record victories.

Touching moment between Ramsdale and Raya spotted before North London derby after Arsenal keeper drama

Raya kept his spot in Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up ahead of the match, while Ramsdale – who has featured in every North London Derby since joining the club in 2021 – was named on the bench.
Arteta has insisted that he does not favour one goalkeeper over the other, but on Wednesday he claimed that he wants to make the “best decision” for the team.
After Arsenal’s 4-0 win over PSV, he said: “I understand that and it is very difficult with every player, and I get that with every player that’s not playing but it is my job to make the best decision for the team.
“He’s been very supportive around the place and that’s what I expect because when you’re playing there’s someone else who’s not and he’s been very good.

“Comfortable? Maybe I look it. It’s one of the hardest things. Players feel happy and valued when they play and when they don’t it’s hard.
“Everybody understands that it’s a team sport but we have seen how important the finishes are and everybody has a part to play in the season.”
Although he wasn’t named in the starting line-up, Ramsdale was keen to show his support from the bench.
After Raya made an outstanding save to stop Brennan Johnson from scoring during the first half, the England international signalled over to him while clapping.

Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by bitter rivals Tottenham in the North London derby.
The Gunners broke the deadlock in the 26th minute after Bukayo Saka’s shot was turned in by Cristian Romero.
However, Spurs levelled just before half time through Son Heung-min.
Arsenal took the lead again after the break when Saka converted from the penalty spot, but Tottenham equalised again just a few seconds after the restart when James Maddison capitalised on a mistake by Jorginho before passing the ball through to Son, who fired it past Raya. More

Arsenal player ratings: Jorginho has nightmare but Declan Rice imperious as ever before injury

ARSENAL’S unbeaten start to the new Premier League season continued in the North London derby. The Gunners twice took the lead as they drew 2-2 at home to rivals Tottenham on Sunday.
Arsenal took the lead twice but were held to a 2-2 draw by TottenhamCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
An own goal from Cristian Romero had put the hosts in front at the Emirates Stadium before Son Heung-min pulled Spurs level.
Bukayo Saka restored Arsenal’s lead from the penalty spot after the interval, only for Son to equalise once again.
Declan Rice impressed for the Gunners before being forced off at half-time, with his replacement Jorginho gifting Spurs a goal.
Here is how each of Arsenal’s stars performed against Tottenham:

    David Raya – 6
His third start in a row, supporting the theory that he is indeed now Mikel Arteta’s No1, no matter what the Spaniard says publicly. Flying stop to deny Brennan Johnson on full debut towards the end of the first half, but his decision to flap a wayward Pape Sarr effort back into play led to Spurs’ leveller.
    Ben White – 7
Won the penalty at the start of the second half when his swivel and shot hit Cristian Romero’s hand. Dealt fairly well with Johnson’s pace.
    Gabriel Magalhaes – 7
A fluid counter-attack from Spurs may well have ended with Son Heung-min powering home from Pedro Porro’s cross – were it not for Gabriel’s intervention. Arsenal shipped two goals but neither centre-back were at fault.

    William Saliba – 7
Brilliant, last-ditch tackle to deflect Son’s shot into the side netting at 2-2, whe the South Korean was on a hat-trick.
    Most read in Football
    Oleksandr Zinchenko – 6
Became Arsenal’s auxiliary holding midfielder as he does but was also kept busy by the industrious Dejan Kulusevski.
    Declan Rice – 7
Looked imperious as ever in his first North London derby. Almost caught out Yves Bissouma with his pressing towards just before the break, but then sadly came off injured in the interval.
Declan Rice was forced off at half-time with a calf issueCredit: Getty
    Fabio Vieira – 6
Got the nod over Kai Havertz, despite the German’s improved performance against PSV in midweek. His teasing cross would have resulted in an instant second Arsenal goal were it not for Micky van de Ven’s intervention.
    Martin Odegaard – 5
In the week he signed a new, five-year deal worth £200,000 a week, the Gunners captain had a quiet day where his creative talents were largely overshadowed by that of James Maddison. Was booked for demanding a yellow card.
    Bukayo Saka – 7
Battle with Udogie down Arsenal’s right was riveting. The Italian went into the book early on for fouling Saka, who created the opener when his cross/shot was diverted into the net by the unfortunate Cristian Romero. Took his spot-kick very coolly by clipping it down the middle for 2-1, though was caught out by James Maddison for Spurs’ first equaliser.
    Eddie Nketiah – 5
Drew chants of ‘Eddie, Eddie’ from the crowd as he went crunching into challenges, including on James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario (for which he was booked). Could not beat Vicario though when sent through on 16 minutes and you wonder if he has the quality to take Arsenal on another level.
    Gabriel Jesus – 7
Started wide left in the absence of injured pair Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli. His early shot from an acute angle was brilliantly pushed wide by Vicario. Nicked possession off Maddison but then blazed his shot over the bar. Came off as Arsenal chased the game for Reiss Nelson – but fans were not happy.
    Subs
    Emile Smith Rowe – 6
Came on in the seventh minute of injury time, which is no kind of opportunity to make an impact.
    Jorginho – 4
Inexplicable decision to try a drag-back under pressure from Maddison saw him lose the ball and Spurs make it 2-2.

Chelsea star Malo Gusto SENT OFF for horror tackle on Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne adding to Pochettino headache

He was shown a red card for after a VAR check on this foul on Lucas Digne
The two sides battled out a goalless first half but Mauricio Pochettino’s men suffered a crushing blow moments after the restart.
With just over ten minutes gone in the second period, the 20-year-old right wing-back was given his marching orders.
The French full-back flew into a tackle on his compatriot Digne near the touchline.
The referee gave the free-kick and initially booked the former Lyon man.

However, he was then asked to review the incident by VAR – and upon further inspection he upgraded the caution from a yellow to a straight red.
And around quarter of an hour later things went from bad to worse for the West London club as Ollie Watkins grabbed the only goal of the game.
His likely three-match ban will add a further headache to boss Pochettino.
Summer signing Christopher Nkunku is already sidelined for Chelsea until at least December with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, they have a number of absences already at the back.
Club captain Reece James is another absentee, while centre-half Wesley Fofana is recovering from anterior cruciate ligament surgery.
And they are joined on the sidelines by fellow defender Trevoh Chalobah and midfield duo Romeo Lavia and Carney Chukwuemeka.
The upcoming suspension comes as a bitter blow to Gusto as he looks to try and cement his place as a first-team regular.
He was signed for £31m back in January on a deal until 2030 but he was instantly loaned back to Lyon for the rest of the campaign.
Gusto linked up with Chelsea this summer and made his debut in August in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
He has gone on to make a further six appearances, including today, since then.
However, he now looks likely to be hit with a three-game ban.
That would rule him out of the Premier League clashes against Fulham, Burnley and Arsenal. More

Liverpool 3 West Ham 1: Darwin Nunez scores again as Jurgen Klopp’s side extend unbeaten run to 18 games

IT is not pretty, but the Liverpool progress train is slowly picking up speed. This is not a vintage Jurgen Klopp side, far from it.

Jarrod Bowen had silenced the Kop when he equalised before the breakCredit: Alamy
The defence remains vulnerable at times. The midfield rebuild is still finding its feet. The front three are not always as clinical as they should be.
And yet, for all of those concerns, the Premier League table does not lie. Five wins from six, still unbeaten, and just two points off their old rivals Manchester City at the summit.
After that 0-0 draw away at Chelsea on the opening day, one that provided more questions than answers, Klopp would have bitten your hand off for this start, by hook or by crook.
The German is not used to watching his side win this way, but right now, he does not have a choice. Every win has an element of graft, grind and grit.
It was the same against West Ham. Jarrod Bowen levelled things up before the break before Mohammed Salah’s early penalty, only for Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota to strike in the second half.
As the old adage goes: winning when you’re not playing your best is the sign of champions.
Not that Liverpool look like potential champions currently. There is work to be done, but until then, keeping chase with Pep Guardiola’s City machine is a good way to go about it.
West Ham’s start remains a positive one, but defeats to City and Liverpool have just taken the shine off. David Moyes has now failed to win at Anfield in 20 attempts.
CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERS
A big boost for Klopp saw Virgil van Dijk return in the Prem for the first time since his controversial red card away at Newcastle.
Trent Alexander-Arnold failed a late fitness test, making way for Joe Gomez at right-back with a total of eight changes from a 3-1 Europa League victory away at LASK.
Like Klopp and Liverpool this summer, Moyes has attempted to transform his squad following the £105m hole left by Declan Rice.
The Scot appears to have found a settled starting XI who have been getting big results, and stuck with it once more despite teasing at starting Ghanaian attacker Mohammed Kudus.
Instead, Bowen was chucked back in having missed mid-week due to illness.
The Kop were restless in the build-up, forced to watch referee Chris Kavanagh delay kick-off by around four minutes due to earpiece issues, and their side’s start only added to that.
Moyes knows his men should have been two goals up inside the first 15 minutes. Tomas Soucek’s close-range header forced Alisson into a world class diving stop.
Michail Antonio’s chance a few minutes later was just as good, but the header was not.
It was all going according to plan for the visitors. Klopp remarked pre-match that Moyes should stick to his principles, and that’s what he did.
Low possession – 39 per cent to be precise – lightning counters, heaps of dangerous crosses, the latter all coming from Vladimir Coufal down the right.
Mo Salah gave Liverpool the lead from the penalty spot in the first halfCredit: Reuters
Klopp looked worried. Things were not clicking. Liverpool needed a spark, and in the 15th minute, they got just that, ironically with a speedy Moyes-like counter attack.
Nunez and Luis Diaz sprung from the traps. Nunez fumbled his touch, the ball bobbled into the path of Salah and the Egyptian’s footwork was too quick for Nayef Aguerd.
Soon after being chopped down, Salah was up to slot his spot-kick down the middle. His third Prem goal of the campaign.
The difference a goal makes. Dominik Szoboszlai was running midfield. Alexis Mac Allister was surging forward. West Ham were shaken.
Not even James Ward-Prowse’s usually reliable set-pieces were providing any rest bite.
Frustration kicked in. Soucek and Edson Alvarez decided to get physical, the latter earning a yellow card for his troubles. The Hammers looked desperate to get in at half-time 1-0 down.
Liverpool could sense that, pushing for a second as Salah went close, but it had the opposite effect thanks to yet another brilliant Coufal cross.

Bowen was on the end of it, superbly flicking a diving header onto the far post and in. Allison’s outstretched hand was futile.
No one in red should have been surprised. Bowen has now scored in West Ham’s last four Prem away games. On the road is where he feels is home right now.
Curtis Jones had the ball in the net just before half time, but VAR confirmed offside.
Moyes’ gameplan was working, which is why many were confused when West Ham emerged in the second half intent on sitting far too deep and inviting on Liverpool pressure.
Bowen may have had another chance with his head from a better Ward-Prowse corner, but the hosts were dominating. Nunez fluffed his lines on the penalty spot with a rush of blood before a swivelled shot.
Yet with the amount of time for Liverpool on the ball, West Ham almost fearful of stepping out, Nunez was always going to have another chance, and boy did he take it after an hour.
A delicious Mac Allister dink in between Aguerd and Kurt Zouma and the Uruguayan striker made his mark with an instinctive volley past Areola.
Finally, Nunez is consistently delivering in big moments. Moyes needed one of those to get back into the game, and he turned to Kudus off the bench.
That change did little to stem the tide. Liverpool continued knocking at the door and got their reward via a flicked corner from Van Dijk and Jota was at hand to jab home unmarked.
Another step forward for Liverpool 2.0. More
