The Dutchman is no stranger to Manchester, having played for United’s rivals City from 2010 until 2019 as a youngster.
The right-back represented City regularly in the UEFA Youth League and Premier League Two but never played a senior game for the Cityzens.
He then moved to Celtic in 2019 where he made 51 appearances before joining Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 for a fee of up to £11.5million.
United looked at signing the defender in the summer but were quoted prices of up to £34million so cooled their interest to focus on other targets.

He also claims that there is keenness on Frimpong’s side to seal the deal quickly.
Top clubs across Europe, including United, have been tracking the defender but he appears to be happy in the Bundesliga.

The two midfielders embraced brilliantly as the cameras caught their celebration
And Mudryk finally broke his duck after 23 games without hitting the back of the net since joining in an £88million move in January.
The Ukrainian, 22, brilliantly took down Levi Colwill’s lofted pass before firing under Bernd Leno to give Chelsea the lead.
He sprinted off celebrating for the first time in a Blues shirt, but some supporters were more drawn to the response of Fernandez and Caicedo.
As Mudryk headed for the corner, Fernandez turned and jumped into the arms of Caicedo as the pair embraced.

According to L’Equipe, however, the winger will take to the pitch for a good cause.
The former Belgium international will play for the Varietes Club de France on October 18 at the Stade de L’Epopee in Calais.
The VCF was formed in 1971 and puts together some of the all-time best players who compete in about 40 charity matches per year against various different teams.
Hazard will be joining this year to team up with World Cup winners, like Laurent Blanc and France manager Didier Deschamps.

The 32-year-old will also be joined by former Lille team-mates Mathieu Debuchy and Yohan Cabaye.
The Belgian superstar has seen his career take a nosedive ever since leaving Chelsea for Real in 2019.
The forward took the Premier League by storm during his seven-year stint at Stamford Bridge where he scored 110 goals and bagged 92 assists in 352 appearances.
After leading the Blues to two Premier League titles, two Europa League trophies, the 2018 FA Cup and the 2015 League Cup, Hazard moved to Santiago Bernabeu following a £130million deal.

However, the ex-Lille star’s dream move turned into a nightmare as he was marred by injury and only managed a mere seven goals and 12 assists in 76 appearances throughout his four-year stint in Madrid.
That led to Los Blancos’ chiefs ripping up his £400,00-a-week contract.
Hazard attracted some interest during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Marseille and his former club Lille knocking on his door but he turned them both down.
There was a lot of talk suggesting the Chelsea hero will retire but he has never addressed the speculation. More

Premier League ‘WILL release VAR audio of Luis Diaz offside howler after bowing to pressure from Liverpool’

THE PREMIER LEAGUE is set to release the audio from the VAR decision to disallow Luis Diaz’s goal.Liverpool’s pressure on the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) has prompted the decision to be made.

According to The Times, the PGMOL intend to make the audio available once their review into the incident is complete.
The decision comes after the Reds formally requested to be given the audio from the VAR room at Stockley Park.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were left aggrieved after Diaz’s strike was wrongly ruled out for offside against Tottenham on Saturday.
VAR Darren England and his assistant Dan Cook mistakenly thought the goal had been awarded and told referee Simon Hooper to stick with his on-field decision.

Spurs quickly restarted the match, with VAR protocols preventing the error from being corrected.
However, senior refereeing officials are understood to believe the VAR pairing should have intervened immediately.
Following the match, the PGMOL released a statement putting the mistake down to “significant human error”, with Howard Webb contacting Liverpool to apologise.
The Reds went on to lose the match 2-1 after a stoppage time own goal from Joel Matip and red cards for Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota.

Liverpool are also expected to appeal Jones’ red card, which was upgraded from a yellow by VAR for a dangerous tackle on Yves Bissouma.
They will not be able to get the match replayed, though, with the Premier League not even considering any such requests. More

Chelsea ratings: Cole Palmer shows Man City’s bench warmer is becoming one of Blues’ best as Mudryk and Broja also shine

CHELSEA picked up an important 2-0 win over London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage to ease the pressure on manager Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues have been enduring a rough start to their campaign following a series of injuries and poor results.

However, the West Londoners climbed up to 11th place in the Premier League table following an impressive performance against the Cottagers.
The visitors opened the scoring after just 18 minutes with Mykhailo Mudryk finally scoring his first ever Chelsea goal after 24 appearances thanks to an assist by Levi Colwill.
Pochettino’s men doubled their lead just a minute later with Armando Broja following a poor clearance by Tim Ream.
But who stood out for Chelsea? Isabelle Barker rates each player at Craven Cottage:

    ROBERT SANCHEZ – 7
The Chelsea goalkeeper looked way more comfortable with his feet. His passing decisions and distribution improved throughout.
Fans will be hoping he can keep progressing but he still needs to cut out the occasional, sloppy error.
    AXEL DISASI – 8
Mopped up the damage for the Blues at the back, and had pin-point accuracy with his long-balls.
Also registered more successful ball recoveries (6) than any other player for either Fulham or Chelsea inside the first half.

    MARC CUCURELLA – 7
Solid in the right-back role. Injected bundles of energy into the side and actually looked better in the right-back position than left.
    THIAGO SILVA – 7
Showed he is 39-years-old and still balling. His silky smooth performance made him look like he was in his early twenties.
    ENZO FERNANDEZ – 7
Produced blistering runs that were unchallenged by any of the Fulham players. Was almost on target on the edge of the box but blazed wide.
    MYKHAILO MUDRYK – 8
Scored his first-ever Chelsea goal and that will do him the world of good, given his £88.5million price tag has weighed heavily on his shoulders.
The goal gave him positivity, confidence and energy on the ball. If Chelsea can get him back to the level he was when he signed from Shakhtar Donetsk, they will have some player on their hands.

    ARMANDO BROJA – 8
Looked like the striker that Chelsea have been missing all this time. Missed a sitter early on but became a hero by hitting his first Prem goal in a year.
Certainly did not look like a player who’s failed to start a game for 11 months. His movement, composure and link up play was so impressive.
    COLE PALMER – 9
A menace from the offset and teed up Broja beautifully for the second.
Clearly what was City’s bench player is becoming one of Chelsea’s best players.
    CONOR GALLAGHER – 8
Was an absolute workhorse in the middle in the ultimate riposte to the social media trolls. He also supplied a lovely ball to set up Broja for the club’s first chance. Was constantly at the heart of Chelsea’s best attacking play.
    MOISES CAICEDO – 7
Was involved in the build up to Mudryk’s opener with a peach of a pass to Colwill.
    LEVI COLWILL – 8
Supplied an inch perfect cross for the opener and pulled the strings for most of Chelsea’s brightest moments. He created the joint-most chances (1), and registered more successful tackles (2/2) than any other player from both sides in the first half.

Fulham 0 Chelsea 2: Mudryk scores first Blues goal and Broja nets on return as Poch begins to lift the gloom

MAURICIO POCHETTINO was hired for nights like this. After a thoroughly underwhelming start to life as manager of Chelsea, everything – finally – came together for the former Tottenham manager.

The striker later went off with an injury issue of his ownCredit: Getty
The fact this easy win came just a couple of miles down the road from Stamford Bridge at their neighbours, who fancied their chances before the game, made this huge result even sweeter for the Argentine coach,
Considering the ridiculous way this Chelsea squad has been randomly thrown together, you could argue that Pochettino getting the team to play like in the seventh game of the season – against a decent Premier League side – was actually an achievement in itself.
Chelsea were simply unrecognisable from their previous matches. They played clever, vibrant, enterprising football without any fear.
It was not only their best performance of the season but probably the best display by any Chelsea team for the last year. Not that the bar has been set particularly high.

Mykhailo Mudryk scoring his first goal since arriving for £88million in January was the stand-out moment and no-one could accuse him of lacking patience.
As he slid along the soaking wet grass on his knees, it was Mudryk’s first goal celebration for club or country since he scored for Shakhtar Donetsk in a 3-2 win over Vorskla Poltava in November 2022.
So, he’d certainly had plenty of time to practise his moves. Unfortunately for him, though, he did not appear for the second half.
Equally, it was also a special night for Armando Broja, who replaced the suspended Nicolas Jackson.

Broja went off with an injury in the second halfCredit: Getty
Broja celebrated his first Chelsea start since November 2022 with his first goal in 12 months.
Incredibly, Chelsea’s goals came within 82 seconds of each other, which is a bit different to September when they managed just one strike in the entire month and that was in the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea’s fans in the away end sang about how they hated Tottenham but there were periods when this young team played a bit like that Spurs team which were, at times, a joy to watch under Pochettino.
The midfield three of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Feranandez and Conor Gallagher completely dominated.
Levi Cowell, playing at left-back, caused all sorts of issues down that side and played a huge part in the opening goal.
It was also a promising evening for Cole Palmer who made his first start since a £42.5m move from Manchester City.
As for Simon Hooper, the fourth official here, the game was slightly easier than the match he refereed between Spurs and Liverpool a couple of days earlier.
The biggest surprise was that Fulham, boasting an impressive record of three clean sheets, displayed such as soft centre in both midfield and defence,
They only avoided conceding even earlier because both Broja and Mudryk delivered wild shots into the Hammersmith End.,
Yet Chelsea continued to overwhelm their opponents and while an opening goal was not a surprise, the shock was the bloke who actually scored it, Chelsea’s no 10.
Mudryk took that 18th minute goal incredibly well yet it was all thanks to an exquisite chip courtesy of Colwill.
The young defender charged down the left but his clever pass over the head of Issa Diop, before resting perfectly on the chest of Mudryk, was unbelievably good.
The Ukrainian still had to finish the chance and after that one touch, he lashed the ball with his left foot through the legs of Bernd Leno.
While Fulham were undone by some great football for that first, the second was completely self-inflicted b.
It was a positive evening for Mauricio PochettinoCredit: Reuters
There was no danger when Fulham skipper Tim Ream collected a pass from Leno yet his lazy pass was cut out by the outstretched leg of Palmer and  slipped the ball to Broja. Incredibly, while trying to redeem himself, Ream ended up booting the ball against Broja and it rebounded into the net.
Chelsea’s fans could not believe what they were seeing. They sang: “We’re winning away, how sh*t must you be we’re winning away.”
At half-time, Pochettino went straight towards Palmer and was still giving the youngster advice and instructions as they walked into the Cottage.
In the second half, rather than shooting themselves in the foot, Chelsea avoided too many dramas.
They should have had a third when sub Ian Maatsen, who replaced Mudryk, hammered a shot against the woodwork while Leno delivered a cracking block to deny Fernandez from scoring the rebound.
Sasa Lukic should have pulled one back for Fulham but he shot straight at Robert Sanchez
With a firm eye on Saturday’s trip to Burnley, Pochettino made his changes which included a run-out for Raheem Sterling who dropped to the bench after suffering a 24-hour bug.
After a bright start to the season, Sterling’s form has absolutely dropped off a cliff.
He has struggled since he was surprisingly left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euro2024 qualifier away to Ukraine and the friendly in Scotland.
    Read More on The Sun
Southgate names his squad on Thursday for the friendly with Australia on October 13 and qualifier against Italy at Wembley three days later and you can be sure that Sterling will not be in it.
If Chelsea keep playing like this, Sterling could be spending even more time on the subs’ bench.

    Man of the Match
The prestigious SunSport man of the match award tonight goes to Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
He set the tempo for the team, and was as hard working as ever, really proving why he deserves to wear that captains armband in the absence of Reece James and Ben Chilwell.
Armando Broja would have been in with a shout, and would have Mykhailo Mudryk, but they were both limited in terms of minutes due to suspected injury issues.

Those goals were courtesy of Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja, the former getting his first goal for the club since his big money move in the summer.
Slightly worrying signs on the injury front for Chelsea however, as Mudryk, Caicedo and Broja all seemingly left the pitch carrying knocks…

Zaha had an unsuccessful two-year stint at the Red Devils who signed him from Crystal Palace in January 2013 but let him stay at Selhurst Park until the end of the season.
The winger moved to Manchester six months later but never managed to win over then manager David Moyes, who shipped him out on loan to Cardiff in January 2014.
The Ivory Coast international returned to Palace on August and made his comeback permanent a year later to spend a whopping eight seasons with the Eagles until his move to Galatasaray last summer.
The 30-year-old’s last ever match with United took place on December 15, 2013 in a Premier League clash against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Zaha came off the bench and helped the Manchester giants win 3-0 thanks to a goal by Tom Cleverley and a Danny Welbeck double.
All of his team-mates from that day have either joined other clubs or called time on their careers.
That is except one of them – whom the forward will meet in the Champions League in a reunion no one would ever expect before the start of the season.
That is Jonny Evans, who returned to United in the summer at the age of 35 eight years after his departure.
