How Erling Haaland’s hat-tricks are costing him money off the pitch with Man City star employing man for help

ERLING HAALAND has revealed how his incredible collection of hat-trick matchballs is costing him a fortune. The 23-year-old Norwegian moved to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund for £51m in 2022.

And they got an instant return on that investment as his 52 goals fired Pep Guardiola’s team to an historic Treble last season.
Incredibly, Haaland grabbed SIX hat-tricks during that campaign, and he already has another this term which came in the 5-1 win over Fulham last month.
That has taken his tally of trebles throughout his career with Molde, Red Bull Salzburg, Dortmund, City and his country to a whopping 19.
It appears that the treasured memento that comes with those exploits still remains as magical to the superstar as ever.

And he has a deal in place to make sure that each one of his vast collection is proudly on display.
Speaking to The Telegraph about whether he keeps the balls, Haaland said: “Yeah, I have them in Norway, England and Spain.
“I have a nice system with a guy who makes glass stands and I can sit them on.
“I have every single ball because I write on them with the date and everything so I can remember.”

Meanwhile, City reportedly hope to “open contract talks” with Haaland in order to secure his long-term future.
A fresh report claims that Champions League holders City have “an appetite to lengthen that by at least another season”.
Talks on increasing his current £400,000-a-week wages will be a “major blow” to Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have a “desire” to bring Haaland to LaLiga and still have a “firm interest” in luring Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe to the Bernabeu after missing out on both over the past 18 months.
Now the Cityzens are “wanting to reward those exploits” with his manager “believing he can still improve”.
The fresh update says that a “potential release clause” will be one of the main talking points in the new package. More

PGMOL boss Howard Webb will break his silence on the horrific VAR blunder during Tottenham’s win over Liverpool when he appears on Match Officials: Mic’d Up next week.Luis Diaz’s goal was incorrectly disallowed for offside against Spurs on Saturday, before VAR Darren England and AVAR Dan Cook made a huge error in failing to overturn the on-field decision.

The PGMOL apologised for the “significant human error” – which was that the VAR did not realise the on-field call was to disallow the goal.
Liverpool then demanded the VAR audio be released – which it was – before Jurgen Klopp called for the game to be replayed.
But now PGMOL chief Webb, 52, will open up about the incident on the the second episode of Match Officials: Mic’d Up.
The programme, that will be shown on Sky Sports and TNT Sports on Tuesday, is set to be joined on the broadcast by former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen.

Last month’s show analysed six different VAR incidents from the opening month of the Premier League season.
But, according to The Mail, the upcoming episode is set to focus solely on what happened at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It will be the first official interview from a member of the PGMOL since the huge VAR error.
VAR England and assistant Cook have both been axed from football fixtures this weekend.

But referee Hooper is in line to be VAR for Bournemouth’s trip to Everton on Saturday.
After releasing the audio from the incident, the PGMOL also included a bullet point list of “key learnings” from the call.
They read: “Guidance to Video Match Officials has always emphasised the need for efficiency, but never at the expense of accuracy. This principle will be clearly reiterated.
“A new VAR Communication Protocol will be developed to enhance the clarity of communication between the referee and the VAR team in relation to on-field decisions.
“As an additional step to the process, the VAR will confirm the outcome of the VAR check process with the AVAR before confirming the final decision to the on-field officials.” More

Watch awkward moment David Moyes ‘has a go’ at reporter as West Ham boss bristles at question about Jarrod Bowen

DAVID MOYES had a bizarre reaction when asked about Jarrod Bowen’s England call-up before his side’s match with Freiburg.TNT’s Archie Rhind-Tutt, talking to the West Ham boss just before the game, mentioned that Bowen had got back in the England squad then asked: “What are the qualities that have made him stand out in your team?”
Moyes unleashed his full steely eyed gaze on the reporter when asked about BowenCredit: TNT Sports
A prickly Moyes responded: “Well I’m not going to answer anything about Jarrod getting in the England team before a West Ham cup game tonight so let’s keep to the West Ham questions please.”
A bemused Rhind-Tutt responded: “But just the qualities he’s shown in your team then.”
Moyes – who has form for snapping at journalists – then gave a more normal response and said: “He’s a really good player. He can play many positions and we’ll use him in different positions tonight.”
Rhind-Tutt took to Twitter after to say: “David Moyes had a go at me and I’m still not sure why” as he shared the interaction.

One fan responded: “Totally unnecessary response to a pretty ordinary question. Handled well.”
Another wrote: “Was a bit weird wasn’t it.”
And a third said: “Could he be concerned about trying to keep Bowen’s feet on the ground? International selection really irks some club managers and I guess they’d rather they ignored their players, especially at sides outside the top 4 or so?”
It’s not the first time Moyes has snapped at a journalist.

When one dared call him ‘Moyesy’ the coach began to laugh and replied: “F***ing hell, I don’t think we are that close.”
He also had an angry exchange with his own player last year.
After the latest outburst, Moyes was then asked about the fact that West Ham had to play without any away fans owing to a ban they received for throwing missiles during last year’s Conference League final.
He said: “It’s really difficult because part of getting your team in Europe is you really want your supporters to enjoy the trips and I think over the last few years we’ve hopefully given them a few trips they’ve enjoyed.
“Especially last year, winning in Prague. But for them not to be here tonight is disappointing.”
Those fans would have laid their eyes on more Europa glory had they been there, with West Ham winning 2-1 thanks to headed goals from Lucas Pacqueta and Nayef Aguerd.
The away win leaves them top of the group and in pole position to progress to the Round of 16. More

The Red Devils now sit rock bottom of their Champions League group behind Bayern Munich, Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen having lost their two opening matches.
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana heads up the worst team of the week according to data company SofaScore’s ratings, with a score of 5.9.
The £47million man had a shaky and nervous display throughout and his misplaced pass led directly to Casemiro’s red card.
Diogo Dalot was perhaps a bit unlucky to make the XI given he was given an average looking 6.1 but he defended poorly for Wilfried Zaha’s goal and didn’t contribute much going forward.

At centre-back were the PSG pairing that shipped four goals against Newcastle.
Milan Skriniar looked cumbersome and earned a 5.9 which was beaten by his partner Marquinhos earning a 5.8.
Owen Wijndal, like Dalot, scored a 6.1 after shipping three to Shaktar Donetsk.
Galatasaray’s Sergio Oliveira scored 5.9 despite being on the winning side at Old Trafford and he was joined in midfield by the 6.0 rated Romario Baro of Porto and Red Bull Salzburg’s Oscar Gloukh who scored 6.1.

The highly rated Samuel Chukwueze is unlucky to make the XI as he only appeared off the bench for Milan in their 0-0 draw with Borussia Dortmund and scored a 6.0.
His cross-city rival Lautaro Martinez appears up front after scoring a 5.9 for a poor performance against Benfica.
Meschak Elia of Young Boys scored a 6.1 as he struggled to break down Red Star Belgrade.

Tottenham suffer another injury blow with Manor Solomon out for three months after undergoing knee surgery

TOTTENHAM new-boy Manor Solomon underwent knee surgery on Thursday. The Israeli, 24, tore his meniscus in training and is expected to be out for around three months.

It is a big blow for Spurs given they are already without Ivan Perisic with an anterior cruciate ligament problem for most, if not all, of the season.
While fellow wideman Brennan Johnson is set to miss Saturday’s trip to Luton, though there is a hope he will be fit to take on Fulham after the international break.
Solomon has started two of Tottenham’s opening seven Premier League games, contributing two assists.
He arrived at Spurs as a free agent in the summer.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
The forward spent last season on loan at Fulham where he bagged five goals in 24 matches for Marco Silva’s men.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are in a row with Shakhtar after the Ukrainian side’s chief executive, Sergei Palkin, claimed he is expecting compensation from Spurs following Solomon’s transfer.
Solomon, 24, arrived at Spurs for nothing in July after capitalising on a Fifa rule permitting foreign players in Russia and Ukraine to suspend their contracts after war broke out in the region.
The Israel star was contracted to Shakhtar until the end of 2023, meaning Spurs would have had to have paid a fee had the legislation change not existed – albeit a small one as there was only six months remaining on the winger’s deal.

Palkin told ESPN: “We had conversations with Tottenham, with Rebecca. We agreed she will send propositions.
“We are now in, let’s say, a negotiation process with them.
“I hope and I believe we will find a solution. At this moment, it is quite early to tell something specific because we are on the way in these negotiations.”
SunSport understands there was a conversation in the boardroom between Spurs and Shakhtar officials during the pre-season friendly between the two sides at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 6.
That exhibition, in which Harry Kane netted four goals before leaving for Bayern Munich, was arranged to raise funds to support the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
Yet Spurs believe the matter to be dealt with and do not expect to pay anything. More

Wolves brutally troll Jurgen Klopp on TikTok after he demands Liverpool are given replay against Tottenham

WOLVES mocked Jurgen Klopp with a TikTok video trolling the Liverpool boss after he claimed “something like this never happened” when discussing the VAR blunder his side suffered against Tottenham.Luis Diaz’s goal was incorrectly disallowed for offside against Spurs on Saturday, before VAR Darren England and AVAR Dan Cook made a huge error in failing to overturn the on-field decision.

Liverpool then demanded the VAR audio be released – which it was – before Klopp called for the game to be replayed.
The Reds boss also claimed a VAR error like that had “never happened” before.
But Wolves’ official TikTok account were quick to pounce on this remark.
That’s because Wanderers saw a legitimate goal disallowed for offside against Liverpool in the FA Cup last season.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Back in January at Anfield, Wolves defender Toti Gomes thought he had given his side a 3-2 lead late on in the game, before the flag went up.
While replays appeared to show he was onside, the VAR had no camera angle available to provide enough evidence to overturn the decision.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw, before Liverpool won the replay to reach the fourth round.
And Wolves’ social media account shared a video of Klopp’s “never happened” comment, following it up with Wolves’ disallowed FA Cup goal from 10 months ago.

Another added: “This is so hilarious. This cracked me up.”
A third responded: “Wolves admin absolutely bodied Klopp.”

Premier League panel ‘say Diogo Jota should NOT have been sent off’ against Tottenham in new blow for Liverpool

THE PREMIER LEAGUE’S Independent Key Match Incidents Panel have reportedly ruled that Diogo Jota should not have been sent off during Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.Jota was shown a red card for two yellow card offences on Destiny Udogie in the space of just over a minute.

But the Premier League’s Independent Panel has found his second should not have been a yellowCredit: PA
His first yellow was shown for clipping Udogie’s heels, while a second was shown for a sliding tackle from behind on the Italian.
ESPN report that they have access to the panel’s findings and it is apparently the second yellow card that was deemed not worthy of being given.
The report says: “The majority deemed the decision as incorrect as they felt it did not meet the threshold for a yellow card,” with the five members voting 3-2 against a booking.
The panel consists of three former players and/or coaches as well as a representative from the Premier League and PGMOL.

Many at the time did not dispute Jota’s second yellow, given the sliding tackle was made from behind and the Portuguese star was already booked.
Jota’s first yellow for clipping Udogie was seen as far more controversial but panel members do not make reports on first yellow card offences.
The highly controversial game also saw Curtis Jones sent off in the 24th minute after the intervention of VAR.
Liverpool appealed the straight red but had their case dismissed by the FA.

Jurgen Klopp was also enraged by Luis Diaz’s goal being chalked off for offside in the first half and has since gone on to suggest that the game should be replayed because of it.
Diaz’s goal was onside but a VAR cock-up saw Darren England wrongly tell the referee that the decision to rule the goal offside was correct.
Klopp said ahead of his side’s Europa league clash with Union Saint-Gilloise: “I say this not as manager of Liverpool but as a football person – I think the only outcome should be a replay. Probably will not happen.”
SunSport understands the Premier League are not entertaining the prospect of a replay. More

But unfortunately for Simek he was never given another chance to impress by iconic boss Arsene Wenger.
He was released at the end of the following season after loan spells at QPR and Bournemouth.
Simek dropped down a division by signing for Sheffield Wednesday where he made 130 appearances across four seasons.
His form for the Owls earned him a USA call-up and the right-back won five caps for his country between March and June 2007.

A serious ankle injury prevented Simek from winning more caps, with fitness issues becoming a recurring problem in his career.
Simek could not prevent the Owls from suffering relegation at the end of his final season at the club.
He was released following the drop so he joined fellow League One side Carlisle United on a two-year deal.
The defender was part of the side that won the Papa Johns Trophy at Wembley in 2011 – a year after they lost the final.

Simek, now 38, made 123 appearances for Carlisle before being forced into an early retirement.
Issues with his hip and ankle meant Simek was left with no other choice but to hang up his boots in 2013, aged just 29.
Simek has reportedly moved back to America since retiring with reports claiming he lives in Illinois. More
