TOTTENHAM fans have been left dismayed by Eric Dier’s “very sad” response to being filmed entering Hotspur Way yesterday.Ange Postecoglou’s table-toppers welcomed back many of their stars from international duty on Thursday.

In a video posted to their social media accounts, star men including James Maddison, Yves Bissouma and Destiny Udogie could be seen entering their training base.
The clip concluded with Dier arriving for work.
Dier, 29, has played 360 times for Spurs but is yet to feature at all this season – having only made the bench in three of their nine matches in all competitions.
As he fist-bumped the cameraman, Dier smiled as he said: “You don’t need to film, I know you’re not gonna use it.”

The cameraman responded: “Come on man, we’ll get you in.”
Fans were left upset after seeing Dier’s self-deprecating response.
One tweeted: ” Eric Dier saying “You don’t need to film, I know you’re not gunna use it” has completely ruined my day.
“A great servant to the club and someone has given so much for the badge completely disrespected. Very sad.”

And a second wrote: “Genuinely feel for Dier here. Likely be on his way in 10 weeks, but to see the guy so dejected after his service to us, you can’t help but have some empathy for what he’s going through.”
A third commented: “Feel for Eric here.. great servent and a brilliant professional. Shame it has become like this.”
Another simply added: “@ericdier you’ve been a superb servant to this club.”
Dier was not on international duty, having earned his 49th and most recent England cap at the World Cup in Qatar.
He has entered the final year of his Tottenham contract and is expected to leave after nearly a decade of service.
Earlier this month he was linked with a return to previous club Sporting Lisbon.
Dier could move back to Portugal on a free transfer in the summer, although discussions have recently been held over a cut-price January move.
He played 32 times for Sporting after coming through their academy before joining Tottenham in a £4million deal in 2014.

STEVE PARISH has revealed that the Premier League are looking at a hard cap on a club’s overall wage bill to keep the top flight competitive.The best 20 teams in the country have discussed a variety of ways to maintain competitive balance over the coming seasons.

This would include possibly capping the richest club’s wage bill as a multiple of the television money earned by its bottom club, which could curb big spenders such as Manchester United and Cheslea.
The Premier League is expected to adopt Uefa’s new system, in which clubs will be restricted to 70 per cent of their turnover on wages and transfers, but having the figure set at 85 per cent.
Parish – the co-owner and chairman of Crystal Palace – said: “As far as competitive balance (is concerned) that does fall back on us and people need to be bold.
“You need to get a super majority of 14 clubs in the Premier League and that isn’t always easy. But I think there are things we can change. There’s change afoot.

“Uefa’s squad-cost caps are one idea. Maybe something that is a bit more rigid than that, with a hard cap at the top, that doesn’t take turnover into account, where there are vagaries of how that turnover comes about.
“There are a number of things and there are really positive conversations going on about it.
“We also have to be very careful because there are also unintended consequences.
“Hopefully we will get somewhere that will be beneficial.

Parish, who has been in charge at Selhurst Park since 2010, backed the league’s decision to maintain the Saturday 3pm blackout in its next cycle of domestic television rights.
The league issued an Invitation To Tender (ITT) on Wednesday, featuring an increase from 200 to around 270 matches, but the Saturday afternoon status quo will remain for the 2025-29 rights.
The Prem also confirmed that all matches displaced to the Sunday 2pm slot due to clubs participating in European football on a Thursday night would now be televised.

MANCHESTER UNITED have dropped a huge hint Jadon Sancho’s time at the club is over.The winger has not played for the Red Devils since the end of August after falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.

It now appears he may never play for the club again as he continues to train on his own.
Sancho has now been excluded from United’s 2023/24 squad photo in a sign there could be no way back at Old Trafford.
Members of the first-team lined up for the picture at their Carrington training base.
However, Sancho was absent from the shoot as he remains exiled from the first-team.

The 23-year-old is banished from first-team areas at Carrington as part of his feud with Ten Hag.
Sancho accused his manager of lying after he was left out of the matchday squad to face Arsenal in September.
Ten Hag had claimed his omission was a result of his poor performances in training, which Sancho denied in a now deleted social media post.
His future at the club remains in doubt following their spat, with Sancho even coming close to leaving before the Saudi Pro League transfer window closed.

Given the severity of the injury and the midfielder’s age, there had been questions raised over whether he could come back, but Heckingbottom was confident.
“One thing to say about Bash, everyone knows how naturally fit he is,” the boss said ahead of Saturday night’s Premier League visit of Manchester United.
“He is blessed with really good endurance. He will come back fit as a fiddle, that won’t take long. The surgeons are really happy with the work they have done, so there is no reason whatsoever.
“When you are looking at these injuries, when people are having operations, it is just the length of time they are out for.

“No one at all is thinking that way, especially not Bash.
“Everything has gone as well as it can. With an injury of that nature, everyone thinks of it because of how freakish it was and how horrible it looks. But you still get surgery and treated the same way.
