United offered very little and were outplayed by Pep Guardiola’s side once again, and they have now lost five of their ten Premier League games this season.
Red Devils legend Keane ripped into the performance after the final whistle and warned it will be a long road back for Erik ten Hag’s team.
He said on Sky Sports: “They’re just toying with United now. It’s different levels now.
“It’s almost, I wouldn’t say embarrassing, I do feel for the United players.

“They’re short in every aspect – technically, tactically and, worryingly, even physically.
“Credit to City they’re an outstanding team. United where do you start and where do you finish? Long way back for this team.”
Things could have gone from bad to worse for United but Antony escaped a red card despite lashing out at Jeremy Doku.
The City winger dodged an Antony tackle with a cheeky piece of skill so the Brazilian swung a leg at him without trying to win the ball.

Doku reacted angrily and that sparked a melee, with referee Paul Tierney brandishing a yellow card to Antony.

Antony came on in the 86th minute but he cut a frustrated figure on the bench when Ten Hag decided not to bring him on for Rasmus Hojlund earlier in the match.
The 23-year-old was caught shaking his head after Sergio Reguillon took the striker’s place instead of him. More

Charlie Aitken dead at 81: Aston Villa’s record appearance holder passes away as club lead tributes to late great

ASTON VILLA are mourning the death of club record appearance maker Charlie Aitken. The former left-back, who has died aged 81, played 660 games for the Midlanders from 1959-1976.
Charlie Aitken famously spent 17 years with Aston Villa and went on to play alongside all-time greats Pele and Franz Beckenbauer at New York Cosmos
Aitken, left, is pictured here with another former long-serving Villa hero Peter McParland as they hold the FA Cup aloft in 2014Credit: 2014 Malcolm Couzens
The popular Scot eventually left the club for a season’s swansong alongside all-time greats Pele and Franz Beckenbauer at New York Cosmos.
Villa said they are “deeply saddened” at the loss of the former Under-23 international, who initially only went to the club to accompany his friend Wilson Briggs on trial.
Briggs ended up playing just twice for Villa – whereas Aitken finished up with a landmark haul of appearances that the club believe “will almost certainly never be broken”.
He helped the club win the old Division Three (fourth tier) in 1972 and the League Cup three years later.

And after moving to New York for 1976-77 he provided the assist for the late Pele’s 1,250th career goal.
Aitken described the Brazilian as a gentleman, adding: “I spent loads of time with him. He was just one of the lads really. ”
Villa said in a statement they were “deeply saddened to learn of the passing of club-record appearance holder Charlie Aitken, who has died at the age of 81”.
They added: “The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Charlie’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

“Charlie established a Villa record which will almost certainly never be broken. During 17 years with the club, he made a total of 660 appearances – 657 starts plus three as a substitute.
“To give an indication of the magnitude of his achievement, the next two highest Villa appearance-makers are the club’s record scorer Billy Walker with 531 and European Cup winner Gordon Cowans on 527.
“Aitken also mirrored the club’s fluctuating fortunes from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s, making the journey from the old First Division to the Second to the Third – and back again – between 1967 and 1975.
“As well as representing Villa in three different divisions, he also played in the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Charity Shield and the UEFA Cup – an impressive portfolio for someone who attended a rugby-playing school where football was frowned upon.” More

Roy Keane slammed for ‘terrible advice’ to Man Utd’s £72million signing Rasmus Hojlund as fans fume ‘dear me’

FANS were amazed as Roy Keane gave Rasmus Hojlund “terrible advice” during Manchester United’s 3-0 home loss against neighbours City. Many observers were stunned by Old Trafford legend Keane urging Hojlund to “go down for a penalty” after the striker squirmed past a grappling challenge from John Stones.

The £72million Dane – still goalless in the Prem since his summer arrival – successfully stayed on his feet but took the ball too far wide to get in a shot on goal.
City then took control, with an Erling Haaland double and a late clincher from Phil Foden.
Sky Sports Pundit Keane said:”I think he’s [Hojlund] got to go down for the penalty. I’m not saying cheat… but we see it all the time.”
Some fans responded furiously to his comments – but others agreed with the former midfield tough guy.

One posted: “Terrible advice… Tut tut”.
A similar opinion was: “Roy Keane wanting a player to cheat. Dear me.”

But plenty of observers backed Keane – with a few appearing to suggest Hojlund had been naive not to tumble over.
One said: “Agree with Keane there at half time. Hojlund had to go down either when Stones was behind him or when he went past Ederson.”
Another insisted: “Absolutely true from Keane. Hojlund should go down there. City’s players are experienced, the young striker not.” More

Man Utd fans taunt Erling Haaland with ‘most embarrassing thing ever heard’ before chant immediately backfires

ERLING HAALAND was inspired to a derby double by Manchester United fans mocking his father.  The Norwegian had chants of “Keano, Keano” directed at him and “Haaland, Haaland, how’s your dad?”

Some Man Utd fans taunted Haaland’s father before he opened the scoring
It was in reference to former Red Devils captain Roy Keane’s shocking derby challenge on Alfie Haaland in April 2001.
And Haaland Jr responded by scoring a penalty for the  opener then  heading a second after  the break in a 3-0 win.
The City striker said: “There was so many people singing ‘Keano’ —  I don’t know why! I used it as motivation.
“I had the pressure but I scored, so it was a fantastic feeling. I gave them a good celebration.”

Haaland saluted his  penalty in front of the home fans not far from the spot Keane had taken out his dad with that  infamous challenge.
Former United skipper and midfielder Keane, 52, was watching the game as a Sky Sports pundit.
He joked the fans may have been chanting about his old Republic of Ireland team-mate Robbie Keane.
But there was nothing for United to laugh about after this Old Trafford rout, with Phil Foden grabbing the third.

Asked if it was City’s best performance of the season so far, Haaland said: “I think so — in terms of controlling the game and playing the football we wanted to play.
“It was a fantastic  performance, a controlled 90-minute game and every single City player had a fantastic performance.
“It was not easy but the way we kept going in the game was incredible.”
Haaland took his tally to 11 Premier League goals this season — as many as United’s whole squad put together.
Asked if beating City’s Manchester rivals makes this victory extra special, he added: “Of course. In the big picture it is three points.
“You need consistency throughout the season in the competition.
“There are still 84 points so it’s just about getting three points week in, week out.”
Bernardo Silva earned the man-of-the-match award and City boss Pep Guardiola hailed him as one of the best players he has ever worked with.
Guardiola said: “He doesn’t wear earrings or have tattoos and has a normal car.
“He is an incredible player for us. He loves to play at Old Trafford. He has played here as a false nine for us in the past.
“He is so intelligent. Everybody loves him and he played another exceptional performance.

“He is one of the best players I’ve seen in my life for how intelligent he is.”
Guardiola felt his side did everything right but for the opening minutes.
He said: “The players always give their best for our fans and we know what it means for them.
“The first ten minutes we lost easy balls but after that we took control.”
On Haaland, who rattled in 52 goals in all  competitions last season, Pep added: “He could have scored four, he moves incredibly well in the box, we are lucky to have him.
“I know he scored 50 goals and people expect him to score 70. He’s a top, top player.”
City fans swarmed onto social media to also hail the way Haaland got his own back on home supporters.
One tweeted: “‘Haaland how’s your dad’. That is the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever heard.”
Another commented: “Chants of ‘Keano’ & ‘Haaland, hows your dad?’ from the Man United fans.”
A third said: “Haaland how’s your dad.. He’s ok thanks just sat watching the worlds [sic] most prolific goal scorer currently playing for Europes [sic] best football club.”

Antony escapes red card after lashing out at Jeremy Doku just minutes afer being subbed on for Man Utd

ANTONY escaped a red card after after an amazing clash with Jeremy Doku – just moments after the Manchester United winger came on in Sunday’s 3-0 thumping against neighbours City.Fans reckon the Red Devils “lost their heads” late on, with Bruno Fernandes and “embarrassing” Antony both booked for angry exchanges with Doku.

But it was the Brazilian’s confrontation that most stunned viewers.
United’s home humiliation had long been confirmed by Phil Foden’s strike on 80 minutes, following a double from Erling Haaland.
And it was deep in stoppage time when Antony launched into an astonishing series of niggles with in-form midfielder Doku.
The former Ajax star had already swung out twice with his boot as the Belgian weaved in from the left.

Man Utd 0 Man City 3: Red Devils embarrassed by bitter rivals in fiery derby thriller as deadly Haaland bags brace

IT was a day when Manchester was United in tribute – but divided by a bloody great chasm in footballing class. After both sets of supporters had joined forces to salute the late Sir Bobby Charlton, Manchester City’s modern footballing greats embarrassed their shambling mid-table hosts.

City dominated all aspects of the Derby

Erling Haaland netted twice and laid on the third for Phil Foden but the Norwegian would have had five goals of his own but for a hat-trick of outstanding saves from Andre Onana.
Pep Guardiola was only being honest when he claimed that United had not been his team’s greatest rivals during his seven-year Etihad reign and the gap between these two clubs is only getting wider.
Erik Ten Hag’s side have now lost five of their first ten Premier League matches and the Dutchman has seen his side regress badly after the Dutchman’s promising maiden campaign.
Guardiola’s Treble-winners are still two points behind surprise leaders Tottenham but it will be a shock if they don’t record a fourth straight Premier League crown and a sixth in seven seasons.

The pre-match tributes to Sir Bobby were as classy as you’d expect.
Six United and City legends of the 1960s were in the centre circle for a minute’s applause and a giant Stretford End which proclaimed Sir Bobby as ‘The Finest English Footballer The World Has Ever Seen’.
City’s supporters joined in with the applause but soon started reminding the home supporters that they were champions of Europe and that Old Trafford is ‘falling down’.
Guardiola had made some feisty comments before this, stating that Liverpool have been his side’s greatest rivals and that United would never dominate again as they had done under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Still, the derby itself had proved a great leveller – United having recorded seven victories over Guardiola’s City in as many seasons.
Onana had been the injury-time hero with a penalty save to deny Copenhagen an equaliser in the Champions League on Tuesday and he was at it again after eight minutes of the derby.
Rodri’s lofted pass picked out Kyle Walker who nodded back for Foden to head goalwards but United’s Cameroonian keeper pushed it away and then recovered to scoop the ball away from Haaland with the Norwegian ready to pounce.
Onana pushed away a Grealish shot and the only time United’s fans were roaring in the early stages was when Harry Maguire won a mighty duel with Haaland.
City had certainly been on top but they went in front in strange circumstances when VAR Michael Oliver spotted a tug from Rasmus Hojlund on Rodri as United defended a free-kick.
It was hardly ‘clear and obvious’, more the sort of thing you’d see from most attacking set-pieces, but once Oliver – the senior man – had sent Paul Tierney to his monitor, the ref pointed to the spot.
Haaland rolled into one corner as Onana dived for the other and City were in front.
United’s occasional threats usually came from loose City passes, such as the Foden effort which let in Hojlund, only for John Stones and Ederson to combine and send the Dane too wide for an effective finish.
Maguire and Diogo Dalot got into a horrible tangle which threatened an own-goal and Bruno Fernandes cleaned out Jack Grealish with an aerial challenge on the touchline, before Sofyan Amrabat and Foden were both booked for a rutting contest.
In injury time Marcus Rashford’s instinctive angled pass located Scott McTominay, who controlled, swivelled and lashed a shot which Ederson palmed wide.
But the half ended as it had begun, with some Onana heroics as he made an astonishing stop to push out Haaland’s point-blank header from a Bernardo Silva cross – an effort which had shades of Gordon Banks and Pele.
Haaland had another Derby game to remember
The Red Devils barely had control of the match
Bruno Fernandes had a game to forget
McTominay had been operating as a No 10 in the first half but was shoved back to a deeper role when Mason Mount replaced Amrabat at the break.
It didn’t make the blindest bit of difference because within four minutes City had doubled their lead with an absolute peach of a move.
Passing and moving with pace and murderous intent, Rodri found Julian Alvarez, who switched it to Grealish, who fed Bernardo for a left-wing cross for Haaland who headed it beyond Onana.
United had been stretched by City’s passing to such an extent that Haaland was unmarked, which would not have been in Ten Hag’s masterplan.
Grealish twice went close to making it 3-0, one shot pushed away by Onana and another whistling wide across goal.
Just when the gulf in class was beginning to look ridiculous, Christian Eriksen reminded us that there was also a bit of quality in the United team.
His brilliant diagonal pass from deep released Rashford, who shot wide on the turn.
Still, normal service was resumed when Grealish slipped a pass to Haaland, who attempted to chip the advancing Onana but was thwarted by another fine save.
    Read More on The Sun
Ten Hag was booed for withdrawing Hojlund, in favour of Alejandro Garnacho, with the ineffective Rashford moving to centre-forward.
But when Rodri let rip from outside the box, Onana could only push out to Haaland who unselfishly squared for Foden to poke over the line. More

Ian Wright reveals he scored four goals in one game ‘before football was invented’ as Gary Lineker says ‘I don’t exist’

And he joked his achievements in the game have been forgotten after Nketiah was told he missed out on an exclusive club – players to have scored four goals in a Prem game for Arsenal.
Thierry Henry and Andriy Arshavin have managed the feat; Wright has too but in the old First Division – not the Premier League.
He joked on MOTD: “I did score four goals but it was before football was invented.”
Lineker responded in kind, saying: “At least you played in the Premier League! I don’t exist!”

The presenter also hit four goals in a match once – for England in a 4-2 win over Spain at the Bernabeu in 1987.
Nketiah’s goals were his first in ten Prem games, but he turned down the opportunity to join the prestigious four-goal club.
That is becasue he allowed Fabio Vieira to take a late penalty, which he scored to put Arsenal 4-0 up.
Shearer was shocked Nketiah did not take the chance to add his fourth with the Gunners striker saying he wanted to be a team player.

I thought I was signing for Arsenal or Tottenham when I heard transfer offer had been accepted – but I ended up at Luton

LUTON legend Paul Elliott thought he was joining Arsenal or Tottenham before moving to Kenilworth Road.Elliott stood out in the 1980s playing for Charlton and turned a lot of heads during a time that saw the Addicks dealing with severe financial difficulties.
Paul Elliott joined Luton in 1983 after shining bright with Charlton
That meant the club had to sell some of their best and most valuable players in 1983.
Among them was their star centre-back, who was linked with a move to the Gunners at the time.
And the then 19-year-old was informed by Charlton manager Lennie Lawrence that a deal had been struck with a club from the First Division.
Lawrence drove the defender to meet his new employers and he thought it would be Arsenal due to the intense speculation.

The youngster also reckoned he could be moving to Tottenham as his manager drove towards north London.
But, upon their arrival, Lawrence finally spilled the beans and revealed he will be playing for Luton.
The now 59-year-old wasn’t disappointed as a discussion with then Hatters boss David Pleat convinced him this was the right move.
Pleat really believed in him and promised he would be in his starting line-up despite his young age.

Elliott told Luton Today: “The club hit financial problems and went into receivership.
“They sold Paul Walsh the year before and I remember there were lots of rumours that Arsenal were very interested and had made a bid. I remember reading the Evening Standard that Arsenal were going to make an offer for Elliott, they really want Elliott.
“When the deal was done, I remember the day I was leaving, Lennie said to me, ‘Big man, go home and put on your best suit, we’re going to sell you. Meet me back at the Valley, I’m going to take you to meet the manager.’
“He didn’t tell me who the manager was, so we drove up and he’s driving north London, A6, towards the Cockfosters Hotel and I was thinking it’s either got to [be] Arsenal or Tottenham. Then he’s pulled up at the West Lodge Hotel and I was thinking, it’s got to be Arsenal!

Elliot thought he was joining Arsenal or Tottenham before his move to Luton
“He turned round and said, ‘There’s a great manager inside, a really progressive club,’ and I’m just thinking, just tell me, and he said, ‘It’s David Pleat from Luton Town.’
“I thought, oh, right, okay, I went into the hotel, and let’s just say I had 15 minutes with David Pleat and I knew that Luton was going to be a great move for me.
“He said, ‘Listen Paul, you’re top class, you’re an outstanding youngster. You’re 18 years of age, played over 80 games in the first team, you’ve got a lot of game time, you’re an outstanding prospect, we’ve just got promoted from the Second Division, you’re going straight into the first team, you’re good enough to play in the First Division, you’re going to be a great player for Luton Town and for me, do you want to come?’
“I remember saying, ‘Of course I want to come,’ and it ended up being a fabulous move. David is a great man, a great friend, we’ve always been close, even after my time at Luton.”
Elliott became a Luton legend with two goals in 39 appearances across a two-year stint before moving to Aston Villa and later Pisa, Celtic and Chelsea. More
