Arsenal tipped to replace ‘bizarre’ Kai Havertz with transfer for £74m star whose ‘footballing IQ is off the charts’

ARSENAL have been urged to ditch Kai Havertz just months after his £65million move from Chelsea. And they should instead upgrade to fellow German Florian Wirtz, whose “footballing IQ is off the charts.”

The Gunners have been told to move for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian WirtzCredit: AP
Havertz, 24, was snapped up by Mikel Arteta over the summer after netting just 19 league goals in three seasons at Chelsea.
Arsenal were convinced the forward would thrive in a new midfield position instead of up top.
But after playing 19 times in all competitions for the Gunners, Havertz has just one goal and one assist at the Emirates.
And former Arsenal youngster Jermaine Pennant reckons Arteta has messed up big time in the transfer market.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
He does not understand what attracted Arsenal to Havertz after the player’s dismal form at Chelsea.
And Pennant has urged the Gunners to move for an immediate replacement in Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Wirtz, who has been linked with Liverpool and Man City.
The 20-year-old has six goals and 10 assists in 17 outings this term, helping his side to the top of the Bundesliga table.
But Arsenal will have to dig deep once again, with Wirtz valued at £74million by Leverkusen.

Pennant told King Casino Bonus: “I need to talk about Kai Havertz. That signing hasn’t worked.
“I thought I’d give him some time to settle in but that period is now over. I think he’s been a poor signing.
“I don’t understand what he brings to the team as he’s not scoring or assisting. It’s bizarre as Arteta seems to believe in him.”
On Wirtz, Pennant added: “I think Arsenal should have gone for Wirtz, his footballing IQ is off the charts.
“He’s not a speed merchant but he’s clever on the ball and he seems to always pick the right pass.
“His assists are great, he has an eye for goal and I think he’d be a fantastic addition to Arsenal, he’d fit in perfectly there.” More

Footy Headlines have stressed that their latest image is not the final design, but is based on the colours that United will use.
They say that Man Utd’s next home shirt will be based on Adidas’ new Tiro 24 template.
But their report adds that some “adjustments” could be made to the collar.
Fans have so far been left split on the design.
Taking to social media, one wrote: “We always seem to get awful looking logos now that don’t fit the kit whatsoever.”
Although a second swooned: “It looks beautiful. Let’s wait for the finishing touch.”
    A third commented: “Meh..”
But a fourth said: “Thing of a beauty.”
    A fifth moaned: “Too simple.”

Everton could face a further NINE-POINT deduction if three clubs are successful with £300MILLION compensation claim

And if successful with their lawsuit the Toffees could have to cough up £300m in compensation, report the Daily Mail.
It is claimed Everton’s new owners 777Partners would be unable to pay up if hit with such a bill.
And that means the club would be placed into administration, leading to further nine-point deduction.
It comes after Everton were docked ten points for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
    READ MORE ON EVERTON
Everton have been punished for breaching profit and sustainability rules after recording financial losses of £44.7million for the 2021-22 season – bringing their three-year total to £124.5m.
That exceeds the Premier League threshold, which permits a maximum loss of £105m across three years, by £19.5m.
It is believed Leeds, Leicester and Burnley contacted 777Partners before the ruling to state their intention to sue if they were found guilty.
Burnley suffered relegation in 2022 as Everton’s overspending helped them beat the Clarets to safety by four points.

While Leeds and Leicester, who were relegated from the Prem last season, claim Everton should have been docked points during the 2022/23 campaign, where they survived by two points.
The three clubs have 28 days to formally lodge their claim, and the Premier League expect a hearing to take place before the end of the season.
David Phillips KC ruled the trio had a case and said in a statement: “I am satisfied that the applicant clubs have potential claims for compensation.
“Those claims and their validity depend on whether the complaint is upheld.”
If hit with administration Everton could be forced to sell some big-name players, including Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
It would also mean they are likely to suffer relegation, although a supercomputer tipped them to stay up despite their ten-point deduction.
Chelsea and Manchester City could also face relegation if they are hit with similar sanctions for FFP breaches – City were hit with 115 charges earlier this year. More

Roma boss Jose Mourinho plots transfer swoop for TWO Chelsea outcasts frozen out by Mauricio Pochettino

And now Calciomercato report he wants another two men from his former employers at Stamford Bridge.
It is understood Mourinho has identified both Trevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr as transfer targets.
Neither player has even managed to make it into a matchday squad this season under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
England Under-21 ace Chalobah, 24, has been sidelined by a thigh injury while fellow centre-back Sarr continues to be overlooked.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
Chalobah came through the academy but there are suggestions he is being “forced out” of the club – with Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich all monitoring his situation.
Sarr, 24, does not even have a squad number and was left out of the Premier League squad but did not get sent out on another loan – after heading to Porto and Monaco in recent seasons since his free arrival from Nice in 2020.
Instead, Poch has preferred the likes of Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva and Levi Colwill.
Wesley Fofana also remains unavailable due to injury while Benoit Badiashile and Bashir Humphreys both have one Carabao Cup appearance.

But with £100,000-a-week Sarr out of contention and Chalobah facing a huge uphill task to get significant game time at Chelsea, Mourinho is keen to offer them an escape route.
Roma sit seventh in Serie A – 13 points adrift of leaders Inter – but are well in contention of the Champions League places.
Mourinho has tended to go with a back three of Gianluca Mancini, Diego Llorente and Evan Ndicka this term.
Smalling only has three appearances this term but the possible additions of Sarr and Chalobah could suit the out-of-favour Chelsea duo – especially in a three-man defence.
