A fresh report has claimed that German heavyweights Bayern and Dortmund have withdrawn themselves from the race to sign Chalobah.
German sports journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed both clubs are “out of the race for Trevoh Chalobah” and they are “not planning his transfer in winter.”
Chalobah has still not played a minute for the Blues this term due to an issue with his hamstring.
The ex-England U21 international is expected to return at the end of January the report claims.

The centre-back was heavily linked to a move away from the Premier League despite having another four years left on his contract.
Bayern was near to snatching Chalobah in the summer but a fee was unable to be agreed upon between the Blues and Bayern.
However, it seems unlikely that Bayern will pursue the Blues defender again in the January window.
Dortmund will continue to look to bring in full-back reinforcements in the new year but without the Englishman on their radar.

Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear the star is no longer a key part of his plans at Stamford Bridge.
Instead, Poch has preferred the likes of Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva and Levi Colwill.
But for Chalobah a move to Roma could be on the card as the clubs are reportedly interested in the star.
The Serie A boss Jose Mourinho has already plucked both Tammy Abraham and Romelu Lukaku from the Blues since taking on the new role. More

Eagle-eyed fans spot huge blunder on Premier League website with squad list featuring handful of forgotten stars

FOOTBALL fans have spotted a major blunder on the Premier League website as they have failed to remove THREE big names from Liverpool’s squad list.Jurgen Klopp oversaw a major overhaul in his midfield during the summer transfer window.
Arthur Melo, top right, is still listed in Liverpool’s squad despite leaving in the summerCredit: Liverpool FC
Naby Keita, right, is also still listed as a Liverpool player on the Premier League website
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, left, is the third ex-Liverpool player wrongly still on their squad list
He brought in four new faces – Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo.
Meanwhile, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left when their contracts expired at the end of the season.
And Arthur Melo’s loan move from Juventus also came to an end after just one appearance for Liverpool.
Yet while all three exited in the summer, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arthur remain listed as part of Liverpool’s squad on the Premier League website.

This is despite the likes of James Milner having been removed following his transfer to Brighton.
And the inconsistency does not end there.
Calvin Ramsay and Rhys Williams, both of whom have left on loan, remain on the squad list.
Fabio Carvalho is another still listed despite his loan switch to RB Leipzig.

But Nathaniel Phillips, who secured a short-term move to Celtic, has been removed.
Liverpool’s new-look squad has started the season positively with eight wins, three draws and one defeat from 12 Premier League games.
It leaves them second in the table, one point adrift of defending champions Manchester City.
They have also won three out of four matches in the Europa League.
And they are into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup where they will host West Ham. More

Prem should restore balance by hitting rich clubs with bigger FFP punishments.. it’d make them think twice

THE current joke doing the rounds on Merseyside is from Liverpool fans mocking their rivals Everton — as you would expect and hope. It’s a fake weather report with people claiming that in some parts of the city it’s minus ten. Geddit?
Sean Dyche’s Everton have been docked ten points and are second bottom of the Premier LeagueCredit: Getty
The Toffees still find themselves above Vincent Kompany’s BurnleyCredit: Getty
But if the outlook is gloomy for Evertonians coming to terms with the massive points deduction for breaking financial rules, there is one sliver of optimism.
That even accounting for the heaviest punishment in the competition’s 31-year history, Everton are still not the worst team in the Premier League this year.
    Step forward Burnley.
If you thought that traditionally morose and cynical Evertonians (trust me, there are one or two) had it bad, what does it say about Burnley that they are still looking up at 19 other teams?
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
Even with the equivalent of three wins and a draw taken away from them after only a dozen league games this season, Everton boss Sean Dyche can laugh and say it could be worse — he could be Vincent Kompany up at Turf Moor.
Burnley have lost six games in a row, have one Prem victory this season and have scored just nine goals in the league and let in 30.
To a hugely complex and highly tuned mind like mine, with years of experience, this suggests the team might be struggling a bit.
In their most recent financial report, Burnley declared net assets of £104million. Manchester City boast £790m. That’s more than just coincidence.

Like Everton, City are under the cosh for the way they are spending their cash.
Prem chiefs have laid 115 charges of dodgy dealing at the door of the Etihad Stadium — with firm denials in place.
Chelsea have spent £1billion on an entirely new squad and are now being investigated for financial wrongdoing under the previous owner.
They have already been fined more than £8.5m by Uefa for irregularities in their accounts from when Russian Roman Abramovich was running the show.
Cash flying between Stamford Bridge, Moscow and the British Virgin Islands during Red Rom’s era of trophy gathering seems to have gone hand in hand with iffy spending.
The new American owners were so worried that they even flagged it up to the authorities when they took over last year. Football’s equivalent of handing yourself in at the local nick.
As far as we know Burnley have practised good housekeeping — with no suspicions around their fiscal conduct.
Crikey, if they had been fiddling the books and were still this bad there’d be some serious questions to answer.
There are numerous arguments that points deductions merely punish innocent players who know nothing of what goes on upstairs, likewise for the supporters.
Chelsea and Man City are now anxiously waiting to see if they are hit with punishmentsCredit: Getty
Fines can be batted away by super-rich clubs, even ones like Everton.
So how about trying to balance things out between the haves and the have nots whenever a slippery board of directors is found to breach rules on spending?
Future sentences for syphoning off cash to pals in faraway tax havens, or over-inflating sponsorship deals, even running at an excessive loss could be judged on the size of the  club’s bank balance.
Weigh up the punishment against turnover or revenue and whack the rich harder.
Redistribute the money on a sliding scale among those less well-off teams who have done things by the book.
If the rich clubs were aware that every time they get done for playing Del Trotter in the transfer market their money was going to a direct rival, it might make them think twice.
We could even call it levelling up. More

It also saw him drop out of the Three Lions squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.
With Gareth Southgate struggling for left-backs, Colwill would have likely featured in both games, allowing him to add to his one senior cap.
But the expectation is Colwill will have recovered in time for Chelsea’s trip to Newcastle on Saturday.
The defender has been key for Mauricio Pochettino, who likes to play him at left-back rather than his natural centre-back position.

The versatile defender earned a place in Pochettino’s side after standing out during his loan stint at Brighton last season.
The 20-year-old provided three assists in 24 appearances for the Seagulls.
The ex-Huddersfield ace’s impressive performances at the Amex Stadium led to major opportunities at Chelsea.
Colwill has become a regular in the Argentine tactician’s starting line-up.

And the centre-back has registered one assist in 14 appearances across all competitions this season.
Colwill, though, will be facing intense competition to make England’s Euro 2024 squad if Southgate sees him predominantly as a left-back option.
The Three Lions’ manager has several other contenders for the spot including Ben Chilwell, Luke Shaw and Rico Lewis, who shone on his debut against North Macedonia. More

Ruben Neves, Ivan Toney and Dusan Vlahovic have all been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, but Silva insists that his former club must act fast if they want to sign any top targets.
Speaking to Mirror Sport, the Brazilian said: “I heard that they were maybe looking for some midfielders especially because of (Thomas) Partey being injured at times.
“I’m not sure if it’s 100 per cent going to happen but obviously, they have to be aware that this is a very short window and very specific.
“You have to be like a fisherman sometimes, to grab the right player that you really need that’s going to help you to win games and to be useful for the rest of the season. Also to improve the way you play.

“It’s not about sometimes bringing a player because you need (them).
“Speaking to people there, Edu many times, they are working hard to have the data and what they think is right for the club in terms of targets.
“The market is very competitive as well, sometimes you have to be fast and not lose the opportunity.”
Arsenal midfielder Partey is expected to be unavailable until the new year due to a thigh injury.

However, if he is fit he will likely travel to the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana.
Arteta is also understood to be open to selling him in January, with Juventus interested.
Gabriel Jesus has also suffered with two significant injury issues this season.
He missed the start of the campaign after having knee surgery and has been absent from the squad for the past month with a hamstring issue.
SunSport revealed that Arsenal wanted to wait until the beginning of December to green-light his return, but the Brazil national team insisted that he travel to South America for international duty last week.
He is now expected to START against Argentina on Tuesday. More

He has played as a centre-back, left-back and right-back since the start of the campaign, providing cover for Oleksandr Zinchenko and the injured Jurrien Timber.
And his impressive form has seen him attract interest from one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
According to transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich are considering a bid for Tomiyasu.
The Bundesliga giants are interested in the defender because he can play as a centre-back and a full-back.

A January transfer is understood to be unrealistic as the Japan international is set to appear at the Asian Cup.
However, Bayern are expected to continue monitoring him until the summer window opens.
The prospect of Tomiyasu leaving has left a number of Arsenal fans nervous, with one person tweeting: “Very very interesting. But we need him at Arsenal.”
Another added: “With all due respect, they should look elsewhere. Tomi is not for sale.”

While a third joked: “I am worried that these guys can’t look beyond the Premier League.”
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal in a £20million transfer from Bologna in 2021.
He has since made 69 appearances for the Gunners.
The full-back struggled with a knee injury last season and was stuck on the sidelines for several months after undergoing surgery.
However, he has returned to top form this season.
Tomiyasu scored his first goal for the Gunners in a 5-0 win over Sheffield United last month. More

Gerrard not the only legend to backtrack over Ronaldo vs Messi GOAT debate with Lampard also changing his mind

ENGLAND legends Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have both changed their minds over the debate regarding Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.Fans have been arguing for years over who the true GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) is with both sides making strong cases about their favourite football legend.

World Cup winner Messi has landed every trophy available as well as a staggering eight Ballon d’Or honours but only succeeded at Barcelona when it comes to club-level football.
Ronaldo has dominated at Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and now Al-Nassr but did little with Portugal, who never won the World Cup and conquered Euro 2016 with him injured.
Picking the best is so hard that even other football legends like Gerrard and Lampard can’t come to a decision.
The Liverpool great used to go with Messi as he claimed he was a better team player.
    Read More on Football
But now the Al-Ettifaq boss picks Ronaldo as his arrival in Saudi Arabia changed the league forever and proved to be the catalyst that brought so many stars to the Middle East, including himself.
Gerrard said: “The arrival of ‘The GOAT’ as we call him, Cristiano, him arriving in January obviously was a huge signing.
“He still had a lot of football to offer. So, from afar, for six months, I was looking in at Cristiano Ronaldo’s results, at the league, watching some games and watching some highlights.
“I think from that moment, the league around the world had become a very popular talking point for everyone.

“After Cristiano’s arrival, even more big-name signings, talents and skill sets were joining the league.”
Lampard also used to pick Messi because of the Inter Miami superstar’s “pure, natural talent”.
But the Chelsea legend ended up changing his tune as well as he told Gary Neville that Ronaldo has proven to be a much bigger impact player.
Lampard said: “You know what, I’ve always been a Messi man and then I watched your debate with Jamie Carragher recently.
“I actually think for Ronaldo’s output and actual numbers, and goals in big finals and semi-finals like we’ve seen, I think I maybe give him the edge. That’s going to start a load of hate, now.” More
