Arsenal launched an attempt to sign him in January 2022, but he instead decided to join Juventus in a £62million transfer and has since scored 28 goals in 75 appearances.
Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move away from Turin in recent months amid the club’s financial issues.
However, the 23-year-old recently told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he has no intention to leave.
He said: “I didn’t experience it as a different summer from the others, from my point of view nothing happened.

“I have always been focused and calm, even during the tour in America, when I missed the match against AC Milan due to a physical problem. I have always been calm.
“I was always sure I wanted to stay. The noises are always there, and they are part of the game, if we start listening to everyone, we can go crazy.
“I isolated myself and only thought about the retreat and in the end I’m very happy I stayed. It was what I wanted.”
Arsenal were reportedly considering the possibility of signing the striker in January, with Chelsea also interested.

Some clubs in Saudi Arabia also allegedly considered a swoop.
Juventus currently value Vlahovic at £86m – £24m more than they initially paid for him.
His current contract expires in June 2026.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea are also understood to be interested in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
However, he will likely cost a Premier League record fee of £120m at least. More

But their 11am flight was cancelled due to bad weather and technical problems.
That means the squad has had to resort to a coach to travel the 106 miles to St James’ Park just hours before their 8pm kick-off.
The journey is expected to take three hours if there is no further disruption from traffic or bad weather.
The Met Office is predicting freezing temperatures in Newcastle this evening, which could dip to -1 Celsius.

Erik ten Hag and Rasmus Hojlund already appeared to be feeling the cold as they boarded the coach ahead of their trip north.
United will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 3-3 draw with Galatasaray in mid-week which left them on the brink of Champions League elimination.

However United are the in-form team in the Premier League over the last five matches with four wins and one defeat.
They have won three on the bounce without conceding and thrashed Everton away from home last time out.

But there was a break clause in the loan agreement which means United could have sent him back in January.
However it appears Reguilon will be needed as cover for Luke Shaw for several more weeks as Malacia is some way off fitness.
Malacia, 24, underwent surgery on a knee injury in the summer and it was hoped the Dutchman would already be back in action.
But the club revealed he suffered a setback in his rehabilitation which required more surgery – he is now not expected back until the new year.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
Malacia is continuing his recovery at Carrington but will take a few more weeks to get back to full fitness.
Shaw has just returned from several months out so Reguilon will likely be kept as a precaution, as Erik ten Hag will want to avoid a repeat of playing players like Sofyan Amrabat out of position.
United issued an update on Malacia yesterday that read: “Tyrell Malacia is on course to return to action early next year, as he recovers from a knee injury.
“The Dutch left-back has not played so far this season, following an operation over the summer.

Three clubs ‘set to WITHDRAW plan to sue Everton’ after 10-point deduction as they seek negotiated cash settlement

THREE Premier League clubs are set to withdraw their claim for compensation against Everton to instead seek a negotiated settlement.Burnley, Leeds and Leicester served notice of their intention to sue Everton last May in a letter to the Premier League.
Everton were deducted nine pointsCredit: PA
And an independent commission chaired by David Phillips KC ruled that they had a potential case.
The trio were preparing to sue for £100m each after being relegated from the Premier League in recent seasons.
If successful, the Toffees could have to cough up £300m in compensation
But according to the Daily Mail, the aggrieved clubs are leaning towards holding private discussions with Everton.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
It comes after the Toffees were hit with a ten-point deduction after being found to have breached profitability and sustainability rules relating to losses.
There are major doubts over Everton’s ability to pay any fine imposed by the commission.
The Merseyside club are relying on £20million-a-month loans from prospective buyers 777Partners to fund their day-to-day operations.
It would still leave them facing administration and a further nine-point penalty.

Burnley, Leeds are Leicester are now conscious of not wanting to be responsible for putting Everton into administration.
If cash-strapped side agree to negotiate the case would go to arbitration instead of being heard by the league’s independent commission who imposed the ten-point deduction.
Everton were punished for breaching profit and sustainability rules after recording financial losses of £44.7m for the 2021-22 season – bringing their three-year total to £124.5m.
That exceeds the Premier League threshold, which permits a maximum loss of £105m across three years, by £19.5m.
It is believed Leeds, Leicester and Burnley contacted 777Partners before the ruling to state their intention to sue if they were found guilty.
Burnley suffered relegation in 2022 as Everton’s overspending helped them beat the Clarets to safety by four points.
While Leeds and Leicester, who were relegated from the Prem last season, claim Everton should have been docked points during the 2022/23 campaign, where they survived by two points. More

I’m a former owner who sacked the manager by accident, I asked to change the COUCH and the board misheard me

FORMER Leeds owner Massimo Cellino has recalled the time he accidentally sacked Brian McDermott following a miscommunication.Cellino, 67, took over at Elland Road in January 2014 and immediately made his presence known.

Just shortly after arriving the Italian sacked then-manager McDermott, who previously played for Arsenal, by accident – all because he didn’t like the colour of a couch.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Cellino said: “I was a mess when I got there.
“My English was very poor. My pronunciation was terrible. When I got there, there was a velvet bloody couch in the suite at Elland Road.
“It was purple. I said, ‘Change the bloody couch, I don’t want to see it anymore’. And then they fired the bloody coach!

“They said, ‘Who is taking the team tomorrow?’

“They said, ‘You fired him’. ‘I fired the manager? S***’.
“It was 10 at night and there were 2,000 people at the stadium who wanted to kill me. They hid me in the stadium and then took me out in a police car. They said, ‘It is better if you don’t go to the game tomorrow’… Bloody purple!”

McDermott’s assistant, Nigel Gibbs, went on to take over as caretaker manager and oversaw a 5-1 win against Huddersfield Town.
Cellino added: “Sometimes the big mistake becomes the best thing you do. That’s bloody football.”
Despite his initial success, Gibbs was sacked by the owner just four months later.
Cellino eventually sold his shares in Leeds to Andrea Radrizzani in 2017 and returned to Italy to buy Serie B side Brescia. More

Jadon Sancho ‘could get Man Utd lifeline with Ratcliffe team’s new psychology-based approach tipped to revitalise flop’

JADON SANCHO could be given a Manchester United lifeline when Sir Jim Ratcliffe joins the club. Billionaire chemical engineer Ratcliffe is buying a 25 per cent stake in United from the unpopular Glazer family for £1.3billion.

And the mega-rich businessman will turn to his chief lieutenant Sir Dave Brailsford in a bid to turn the club around.
According to The Mirror, Brailsford is taking a psychology-based approach alongside therapist Steve Peters at Team Sky.
And it could prove to benefit squad outcast Sancho, who has been exiled from the first team since September.
The 23-year-old winger was fuming after being dropped for United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal, which Erik ten Hag put down to performances in training.

Sancho sensationally spoke out on social media to claim he was being used as a “scapegoat”.
And after refusing to apologise to his manager for the online outburst, Sancho has been out of the fold ever since.
He has been banished from first-team training since September and instead trains with United’s academy teams.
But Ratcliffe is believed to be focussed on bringing in more homegrown players.

That could offer Sancho his route back into the side.
But the winger has been linked with a January move away from Manchester, with a move to Saudi Arabia touted.
Al-Hilal are the latest to be interested in Sancho as they look to replace injured Brazil superstar Neymar.

I coached Man Utd star Kobbie Mainoo, but Gary Neville is right – he’d be perfect for Man City

KOBBIE MAINOO was hailed by Gary Neville as a player Pep Guardiola would want in his side after his first Prem start for Manchester United. And if his boyhood coach Ian Kelly had his way, the 18-year-old would now be playing for Manchester City rather than their greatest rivals.
Manchester United ace Kobbie Mainoo could have been playing for Manchester CityCredit: Getty
Mainoo oozed incredible calm and authority in United’s 3-0 victory at Everton on Sunday — even if it was Alejandro Garnacho’s sensational overhead-kick opener that attracted the global headlines.
Former United star Neville declared: “The biggest compliment I can pay him — and it hurts to say this — he looked like a Manchester City player.
“Honestly, I was watching him and thinking that’s a player that Pep Guardiola will be looking at and thinking, ‘I want him in my midfield, that’s what my midfield players do’.”
Mainoo was a treble-winner — just like City’s players last season — with a league title and two cup triumphs during his last season playing for Failsworth Dynamos in the Manchester Youth and Mini Soccer League.

Kelly, 60, who coached the quiet, intense kid, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the progress that Kobbie is making —  but I’ve got one little regret because I’m a Blue.
“When he was with us he was training at the City academy as well as at United, starting when he was about seven.
“By the time he turned nine the time had come to sign on with one of them and he had to make a choice — it turned out to be Old Trafford.
“Good for him, too, even if I wish he was at the Etihad.
    Most read in Football
“Kobbie was always a nice kid, quiet but he always stood out — a bit like he did against Everton the other day.
“I couldn’t help but think what he might be under Pep.
“I am delighted to say he still remembers me and Failsworth Dynamos. After he won the FA Youth Cup last year he messaged me to say how much he appreciated the time he spent with us.
“That was typical of a lad who only ever gave me one bit of trouble.

Man Utd legend Gary Neville claims Mainoo would be great at Man CityCredit: PA
“We would normally sign ten players and the games would be six-a-side so everyone had to be rotated to get them all time on the pitch.
“Kobbie wouldn’t half moan when it was his turn to be hooked but hat-trick or not, he had to let other lads have a chance.”
Mainoo may not have had an opportunity at Failsworth but for Kelly changing the goalposts for him.
His dad Felix was looking for a strong team that would challenge his son after he found things too easy with Cheadle and Gatley Juniors, based near the Stockport-born midfielder’s home.
Kelly recalled: “One Sunday morning I was approached by a quiet gentleman who had been standing on the touchline with his lad watching our under-sevens play. He asked me if I had any spots left in our team. Although we were already full I got Kobbie to come along and start training with us anyway.
“The rest is, of course, history and now I see how they are talking about him having this vision on the pitch.
Mainoo’s former manager Ian Kelly wanted him at Man CityCredit: Getty
“But if anybody had a vision about Kobbie and how good he might be it was his dad.”
Mainoo was aged five when he first joined Cheadle and Gatley but even at such a tender age he was an instant standout according to Steve Vare, his first coach.
Vare recognised immediately he was too good for the reception side and wanted him to be challenging himself at under-sevens — but there was no room at that age level.
He recalls: “It was all too easy and I was trying to make it more difficult to test him.
“His dad asked whether he would be pushed up into some of the teams, a couple of ages ahead of himself, but at the time we were already fully subscribed.
“We used to hand out man-of-the-match trophies but you could have given it to him pretty much every week.
Mainoo has left a lot of promise at Man Utd after some impressive performancesCredit: Getty
“So it was a case of handing out the award for best effort and that sort of thing.
“If it was just based on man of the match, Kobbie would have won it each time.
“He needed to play maybe one or even two years up, or in an academy.
“I would always say to his dad that Kobbie is basically too good to be down here but I haven’t got anywhere else in the Cheadle and Gatley set-up that would challenge him.
“We obviously only played a small part in his development but everyone here is still delighted for him.”
Mainoo again looked comfortable as a second-half sub during United’s error-strewn 3-3 Champions League draw with Galatasaray in midweek.
He seems certain to feature again for United at Newcastle after boss Erik ten Hag declared him ready for a third big test in six days.
After so many years of playing against older kids, the son of dad and mum Felix and Abela Herold has finally found his proper level.
    Read More on The Sun
And the choice he made as a nine- year-old is one that has convinced former United skipper Neville that the Reds now have a midfield talent for the ages.
Right from under City’s noses. More
