Wolves star BANNED from training ground after shock incident with future at club hanging in the balance

JONNY CASTRO OTTO’S Wolves future is hanging in the balance after he was excluded from the training ground following an incident. The Spain international, 29, was involved in an incident in training last week and left out of the squad for Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.

Boss Gary O’Neil says the defender will not be in the squad for tomorrow night’s game at home to Burnley – or for several games beyond that.
He explained: “Jonny won’t be in the squad. There was a training ground incident last week that’s being dealt with by the club.
“If – or when – he’s back available, we’ll let everybody know. At this moment in time he won’t be available for the coming games.
“I’d rather not go into thing in public. Things happen at training grounds and at football clubs a lot.

“He is not with us at the moment. He’s not training with us. I’m involved with everything but people above me are also dealing with the situation.
“We will update you when he’s back around. I can’t update you any more than that at the moment.”
Jonny, who was signed from Atletico Madrid initially on loan in the summer of 2018, made the last of his 134 appearances in all competitions for the club on September 30 in the 2-1 win against Manchester City – his only game in the Prem this term.
The former Celta Vigo full back, who has twice returned from ACL injuries, is under contract until June 2025.

This season Jonny, who can operate on either flank, has been forced down the pecking order by Nelson Semedo and Matt Doherty on the right and Hugo Bueno and Rayan Ait-Nouri on the left.
Ahead of the midweek clash at Molineux, O’Neil said he believes opponents Burnley are in a false position.
He said: “Results would have been worse than they’d have wanted but performances, which is what Vincent Kompany will be looking at, have given them opportunities to win games.
“Watching his team, he’s an excellent coach – they’re extremely well organised with and without the ball and they look like they know what’s being asked of them.
“The club looks like it’s in a good place because they did some really good business in the transfer window to get players to suit what Vincent needed.”
Wolves welcome back two midfielders from suspension – Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes – as they face the first of two home games this week with Nottingham Forest to follow on Saturday. More

Jadon Sancho ‘has January transfer escape route but wants to wait until Man Utd takeover before making decision’

JADON SANCHO is “leaning towards” leaving Manchester United in January, but will reportedly wait until the club’s ownership situation is sorted.Florian Plettenberg reports that a loan with an option to buy is still the most realistic possibility of Sancho leaving the club.

Italian giants Juventus hold a concrete interest in the winger as they look to challenge Inter to win the Serie A.
In terms of a transfer fee, there is reportedly no fixed price tag – and Sancho not playing for the club since September is only diminishing his value.
Sancho is playing a waiting game, however, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s minority investment in United set to be completed soon.
Ratcliffe is understood to be a big fan of ten Hag, but the manager is coming under significant pressure following a string of poor results.

Sancho and ten Hag remain in a standoff dating back to September when the winger was left out of the squad for the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal.
Sancho took to social media to claim that he had been made a “scapegoat” after ten Hag revealed he’d left him out of the squad for training poorly.
Although he has since deleted the posts, ten Hag is refusing to include the winger in his squad until Sancho apologises for his comments.
The winger has been axed from United’s WhatsApp group after already being barred from training with the senior side or using any of their facilities, including the canteen.

Both his team-mates and club staff urged Sancho — who joined from Borussia Dortmund for £73m in July 2021 — to back down and apologise to ten Hag but it’s clear now that an apology will not be forthcoming.
Juventus, who are prepared to offer Sancho a lifeline to revive his career, are also understood to be interested in Donny van de Beek who signed for United for £34m in 2020. More

Roy Keane puts neck on the line with Premier League title prediction despite saying ‘I’ll never make that mistake again’

ROY KEANE has put his neck on the line with a new Premier League title prediction and says Arsenal could win it.Despite saying he will “never make the mistake” of writing off Manchester City, the Ireland legend is doubtful over whether they can maintain their dominance.
Roy Keane has revealed a new Premier League title prediction after Man City’s draw against SpursCredit: Twitter @SkySportsPL
After a thrilling 3-3 draw against Spurs on Sunday, Pep Guardiola’s side are currently third in the league table, trailing three points behind Arsenal and one point below Liverpool.
Keane, 52, is concerned City do not have the “hunger” to be frontrunners but will not bet against a side who have won the last three titles.
He said on Sky Sports: “I certainly wouldn’t bet against Man City, but I am starting to become doubtful about City winning that title.
“There’s a reason it hasn’t been won four years in a row because keeping those levels up, that hunger, desire, you get a few injuries, some of the top boys coming off it.

“But certainly Arsenal and Liverpool I’m looking at, especially Arsenal with the strength and depth they’ve got and the experience of last year.”
However, the Manchester United legend pledged to never write off last year’s Treble winners and admitted that was his biggest “mistake” a few years ago.
Keane has appeared to backtrack slightly after previously saying who his title winners would be this term, insisting: “I wouldn’t change my mind in terms of who I think will win the league – it’ll be Man City.”
Guardiola’s squad have drawn their last three league games against Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Arsenal started the season with a bang, beating City in the Community Shield.
They have maintained their superb form ever since, and sit two points above second-place Liverpool and three ahead of City, who are third.
And pal Jamie Carragher also shared his support for the Gunners and his old side Liverpool to continue their fight against City.
He said:  “If you asked us all, I think we’d still fancy Manchester City for the title.
“We’ve seen this before with City, where they go on a run during the second half of the season and win 10 or 12 games on the bounce and go away from other teams.
“Maybe, this season, Arsenal will be stronger from their experience in those moments and we know Liverpool have been there before.”
Man City will next take on fourth-place Aston Villa on Wednesday night as they battle it out for the top spot.

Erling Haaland’s brilliant reply as he’s turned into a meme by cheeky rival fans after Man City star’s Spurs meltdown

ERLING HAALAND has been transformed into a meme by rival fans after a photo of his meltdown went viral. The striker was apoplectic after referee Simon Hooper blew his whistle for a foul instead of allowing play to continue with Jack Grealish through on goal in the last minute against Tottenham.

The match ended 3-3 and an incensed Haaland remonstrated with the ref before taking to Twitter to question the decision.
Haaland went on social media immediately after the match to vent his frustrations but by that time he was already a meme.
A photo of his raging face quickly circulated as cheeky fans began to superimpose it over famous artwork and already existing memes.
One fan added Haaland’s face to Edvard Munch’s famous ‘The Scream’ painting while another photoshopped his face into an infamous meme from reality TV show ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’.

Another got into the Christmas mood by pasting Haaland’s face onto Kevin McCallister’s from Home Alone, while another reimagined a famous internet meme from earlier this year of a woman who went viral for her loudmouth antics on board an American Airlines flight.
Haaland saw the funny side and responded to The Scream meme saying: “Wtf that made me smile for the first time today.”
Haaland, 23, could be hit with an FA charge following his conduct towards the referee.
The striker blew his top at Hooper and, before storming down the Etihad tunnel, he fired an F-word rant at Giovani Lo Celso after the Spurs scorer barged into him at full-time.

Haaland later posted a clip of the incident on Twitter, saying: “WTF”, an abbreviation for ‘What the f***’ which could land him in hot water with the FA.
But Pep Guardiola, whose team conceded a 90th-minute leveller, bit his tongue and said: “Next question. I will not do a Mikel Arteta comment.
“On the touchline sometimes I lose my mind and my gestures aren’t proper. But here normally for many years as a manager I’m not a guy to comment.
“It surprised me because when Erling went down, if you whistle in that moment it’s fine.
“But he stands up and continues and the referee in that moment makes that gesture to ‘play on, play on’.
“And after Erling makes the pass he then stops the game.” More

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino would have been delighted to have escaped the Brighton win with no fresh injury concerns.
In addition to that, Pochettino could be tempted into welcoming Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia to the fold after their long term injuries.
But the Blues boss is still expected to be without Malo Gusto (knock), Wesley Fofana (cruciate ligament), Carney Chukwuemeka (knee), Trevoh Chalobah (hamstring) and Ben Chiwell (hamstring).

United were beaten 1-0 at St. James’ Park on Saturday night in a blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four.
Rashford struggled to make an impact during the match before being replaced by Antony in the 61st minute.
Shearer has now criticised the England winger’s attitude along with those of his team-mates.
He said on The Rest Is Football podcast: “I thought they were a mess, I thought they were terrible.

“I thought their attitude was awful and it highlighted some of the really bad attitudes they clearly have.
“When it’s tough and when it’s hard, you see the players who want to play for you and you see the players who want to support you as a manager and as a fan.
“And I thought there were three or four players yesterday who were not prepared to roll their sleeves up and gave up far too easily and didn’t want to fight.”
As for Rashford in particular, he added: “When you look at Rashford’s performance from yesterday, he didn’t look like he wanted to be there at all.

“When he got dragged off, you could see his reaction.”
The 26-year-old has struggled for form this season, scoring just twice in all competitions.
His penalty against Everton last week ended a run of seven Premier League matches without scoring.
Erik ten Hag also cut a frustrated figure on the touchline on Saturday and was seen arguing with Anthony Martial during the match.
The Frenchman was also withdrawn in the 61st minute, with Rasmus Hojlund coming on in his place.
United are now seventh after their latest defeat, five points adrift of the top four.
Ten Hag will hope his side can bounce back at home to Chelsea on Wednesday. More

Newcastle are understood to be assessing transfer options ahead of the window re-opening in January, with Martin Dubravka set to deputise until a replacement is found.
Former United goalkeeper De Gea is one player on the club’s shortlist, reports the Daily Mail.
The Spaniard, 33, has been searching for a club since leaving the Red Devils in the summer but would likely demand big wages.

He earned £375,000 a week at Old Trafford but is said to be keen on a switch to Newcastle so could accept a wage reduction.

However, the club’s preference is believed to be De Gea, as Ramsdale could cost a fee of around £50m.
De Gea has been linked to Real Betis and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq since leaving the Premier League.
